I am still mad that Peridot had great chemistry with every one of the main gems only to be dumped into an unbreakable package deal with a gem that she has nothing in common with.
I am pretty sure the whole reason she is a low-int meme goblin now is so the writers could try force her into an idiot and straight man relationship.

Peridot was only like that with Lapis so she wouldn't set her off. Every time she was separate from Lapis (and this includes up to the most recent episode) she was her usual self. Loud, obnoxious but in an endearing way as opposed to overly nice during the barn arc.

It's not really a show about good versus evil, but some fans insist it is for some reason. The antagonist of the upcoming movie, Spinel, seems like a lot of fun though.

Peridot and Lapis are locked together again. The characters are essentially dead unless Rebecca upsets her precious status quo and overhauls their personalities.
She was almost herself for one episode, made a small cameo a few episodes later then she was back to being a massive retard in the wedding special before Lapis even got back. We didn't see enough of her in the finale to gauge her post Reunited personality but I would bet money that she will go back to being a dipshit next time we see her.

Cartoons don't have unlimited budget and episode slots user. Seasons 1-5 took about two years in-universe as is and even then some issues were left outstanding like Jasper, the zoo humans etc. It gives the writers a chance to move the world forward while still addressing old wounds that need to be healed.

I think it's kind of funny how when people used to post this, the responses were typically "Oh shit she really is one of us", but now it tends to be negative. The perception of literally everything related to SU really changed over the years

They kinda have grown close, as per pic related, and lots of touchy moments in Made of Honor, but the show's insistence on keeping the Crystal Gem A team and B team separate most of the time limits their interactions and time together while increasing Peridot and Lapis'.
I honestly wouldn't be too surprised if Amethyst and Peridot are together after the time skip, but thanks to Lapis and Peridot's poorly handled fallout leaving me with little faith in the crew's ability to follow up on build up, the apparent production hiatus possibly changing the direction the crew wants to take characters, and the trailer for the movie again highlighting Peridot and Lapis over Peridot and Amethyst I'm not expecting it.

Any smart writer would have just added her to the main cast after all of that work. Instead they ignored the obvious thing to have her live with that chick that bullied her for one episode somewhere far away from the main cast instead of staying with her friends that she saved the earth with and lost her place on Homeworld for.
How any show runner could look at that and think "yeah, that makes sense" is beyond me.

Showing the onset of Jasper's downward spiral and obsession with the power/emotional high she got from fusion, as well as the start of Lapis trying to finally wash her hands of what Malachite and her obsessive hate did to her.

Just a shame it's never really brought up again and they never have the chance to interact after that scene, because it's the probably the most interesting part of both of their character arcs.
