I like how there's no real chemistry between the characters in the first intro and the second has them all hanging out. Wouldn't be surprised if the third one is them taking a family photograph or something similar.

I like the intro because it fit for the misadventurous feel of Season 1. Things were so much simpler. Just a kid going on wacky misadventures with his alien guardians. The animation looked fresh, clean, and new. Things were bright, and it was all so much simpler

To be frank it'd already started to lose its luster by the time Peridot showed up. Becoming more standard structure-wise was (overall) a wise move. Monster of the week is fine but not for a whole series.

I agree, I just hate how everything panned out. All the mystery, the intrigue, the wonder and innocence of Season 1; just gone. Replaced by crying and boring townie episodes where the gems are barely mentioned, not to mention the dissapointment that was Rose's true origins and the Diamond Authority

Garnet has no personality now besides "LEZBEAN MARIAGE"

She's been much better in S5 (most characters have) and neither of her featured episodes revolve around fusion. I dunno what happened during S4 but I'm glad it's being fixed.

It was also hella boring. I dropped this show when it first came out because it was so basic.

Also just as an aside I love Sunstone. What a great combo of Garnet's confidence and Steven's optimism.
