That was one concept, but as far as I know it never left the studio and could be subject to change. Officially there is no true explanation for the Tallest height, but the revisions seen in the movie seem to make them look less like talking heads in suits.

It lacked the edge and artistic beauty it orginally had. The coloring was good but it doesn't suit Zim at all, zim is edgy by nature and doesn't suit rounded edged characters, warm lighting, and the teeth being calarts shaped bugged me enough to ruin it for me. I'm being genuine, I would like this movie if it wasn't zim, but it is and it is spitting on the original spirit.

Unlike humans in the show, their teeth are ALWAYS interconnected. Sometimes human teeth are simplified as anime-style enamel blocks (see pic), but are still shown as separate on occasion when their mouths are open wide. But, in the same sort of scenes human teeth would be shown like that, Irkens have a thin bit of "tooth" that connects them at the base.

You joke, but listening to the director and developer commentary, a lot of though went into the minutia of the show. Things like certain characters having lobotomy scars, the mechanics of Zim’s backpack, the Skool, the city. Everything was considered before being put into the final episode.

I'm kinda put off by how Membrane still insists that the whole adventure was just a dream he had after suffering cranial blunt-force trauma, despite that the Earth suddenly has a new giant crack in it, and is littered with pieces of space debris and chunks of other planets, and probably aliens as well, and the city's structures are greatly damaged, and there's a weird fish clone of himself living in his house.
If only the script had included him saying something to explain the source of his denial. He's a smart guy, and having him be THIS insistently oblivious (just for the sake of maintaining the status quo no matter what?) is way too forced. The tiniest bit of justification for it, even if it's contrived or lolsorandum, would go a long way.
