art by KLAUS JANSON
cover by SEAN MURPHY
variant cover by KLAUS JANSON
The world of Batman: White Knight expands with this standalone tale! On the night of Bruce Wayne’s traumatic birth, Victor Fries must intervene to save the lives of Martha Wayne and the future Batman. As the evening unfolds, Victor distracts Thomas with the incredible tale of his own father figures—one a Nazi, the other a Jew—and their complex connection to Wayne Laboratories. As the Third Reich roars into power, the deep friendship and working relationship between the Baron von Fries and his research partner, Jacob Smithstein, is in crisis. Ordered by Himmler to speed development of their cryotechnology in service of world domination, Smithstein is forced to go into hiding and compromise his moral code in order to save his wife and infant daughter, Nora, from persecution and certain death. When the S.S. ramps up surveillance over the project, young Victor begins to question his father’s true allegiance. Both families are driven toward an impossible choice and a sinister standoff, and Victor makes a pact with Smithstein that will ripple through generations.

THE DOLLHOUSE FAMILY #1
written by MIKE CAREY
backup story written by JOE HILL
art by PETER GROSS and VINCE LOCKE
backup story art by DAN McDAID
cover by JESSICA DALVA
card stock variant cover by JAY ANACLETO
On Alice’s sixth birthday, her dying great-aunt sent her the birthday gift she didn’t know she always wanted: a big, beautiful 19th-century dollhouse, complete with a family of antique dolls. In no time at all, the dollhouse isn’t just Alice’s favorite toy...it’s her whole world. And soon, young Alice learns she can enter the house to visit a new group of friends, straight out of a heartwarming children’s novel: the Dollhouse family. But while the Dollhouse family welcome her with open arms, in the real world, her family life is becoming much more complicated...and deep within the Dollhouse’s twisting halls, the black room waits, with an offer to Alice. The house can fix all this, the black room says. All she has to do is say the words...
Longtime collaborators Mike Carey and Peter Gross (Lucifer, The Unwritten) are joined by Vince Locke (The Sandman), to bring their most horrifying vision yet to Hill House Comics—a story that echoes into centuries past, into Alice’s tormented future, and into the beating heart of the madness that makes up our world...literally.
Plus, in chapter two of the “Sea Dogs” backup story written by Joe Hill, spymaster Benjamin Tallmadge’s monstrous scheme is underway as his coerced crew of bloodthirsty colonial lycanthropes prepare to gut the Royal Navy from within!

when did the double standard in comic get so huge?
comics aren't allowed to have cheesecake of any kind, female characters who used to have revealing outfits and large breasts size all got covered up by feminists over the last five years but every month docents of comics have no problem with showing male characters topless or half naked?

His work on doom patrol was excellent, him on Animal Man would be great.

Its gonna be revealed that Jaina got her thunder lust and raped her brother right

BLack Label is full of Joker and Harley comics, what are you talking about?

I'm sorry it doesn't appeal your particular tastes, user. But it was a fun read for a lot of people, included me. I have zero problems with whatever your personal agenda is settled against.

I have two questions, please bear with me because I barely read DC.

1) Is Sideways anywhere to be seen since his solo ended? I really liked him.
2) Is this following from what Morrison is doing with Green Lantern? What happened to the ongoing?

Never read anything by him, he any good? Ive been aching for a good story with my boy Vic for a while.

And that's why Oliver is helping him stepping on the good guys team once and again making "mistakes".

Check his stuff in Image. And his Moon Knight in Marvel, for saying a few.

Coming back to what though? More shitty Bludhaven stories?

1. No
2. Yes, it's just getting a number 1 and new title for reasons

Oh okay, cool, thanks... Seems like a marketing tactic but whatever, it's interesting anyway.
Shame about Sideways though, I hope he doesn't go the way of Marvel's Mosaic.

They were calling morrison's green lantern "season one" this entire time.
Blackstars is supposed to be a three issue intermission while Liam Sharp gets ahead on season two of The Green Lantern. Since #1's sell better at first, don't be surprised if it relaunches as "The Green Lantern Season Two #1"

i almost thought it said "Roman Reigns" continues

Yeah, I'm pretty sure Bendis sits down, writes a first draft and mails it to the artists without even spell checking it.

Man, this cover will never not be funny.

Thats a good question. Who's got the publishing rights to the shitty WWE comics? All I want are cheesy keyfabe origin stories, is that so much to ask?

>copying both Electra and FUCKING Sylvanas Windrunner

Could someone PLEASE do something with fucking DIDIO and DC board?

The same reason DC publishes Loony Tunes comics. Now the real question is why Disney comics aren't done by Marvel

Why do i feel that in 2020, DC will start selling colored and redrawn editions of JJBA since they now own the rights for it?

>Is Sideways anywhere to be seen since his solo ended? I really liked him.

there was porn of him and Tala posted recently.

>Dying
It was a 6 issue mini that got extended to 12. That's the opposite of dying

I hope it isn't, it's so obvious I want to believe they put a little more thought in this story than that.

>Black Manta and Mecha Manta
Arthur, you know what you must do!
YOU MUST MAKER YOUR OWN AQUA MECHA

I don't know about that, but we might get some JoJo style variant covers.

>Stranded in space, Jessica Cruz’s leadership

Hey here comes edgy Batman to ruin Hawkman. Awesome

Why does the Dark Multiverse hate Carter so much?

cute

Not what I had in mind but thank you nonetheless. I hope DiDio or Morrison bring him back from limbo.

its DIDIO who hates him

Finna cum

Is Huntress white again?

Circe Roja?

>Superman in your rebirth costume

Cool for me

So a Cheetah arc leads... Into another Cheetah arc?

>Carey back
Based

Looks cool honestly

I feel awful for Carey living to see his entire Lucifer run be declared “apocrypha”. Any word on what he thinks about the current series?

>DC: “So the worst thing Hal Jordan has ever done was become Parallax Hal and try to destroy the entire universe-“
>Hal: “TRY?! Hold my beer, there is no TRY in the Jordan household!”

probably doesn't care.

The fuck man, He-Man is now part of the DC multiverse?

>wants Billy to be bad

What, did he think Mary was used goods? COME ON, everyone knows you always go for corrupting the most seemingly innocent member of the gang.

This would be intriguing if it wasn’t for BENDIS listed in the credits

And is it just me, or are all Dark Multiverse stories impossible to get invested in knowing the damn universes inevitably self destruct on their own?

What the fuck are these? Are these new Walmart Giants? Why is no one talking about this? What is the new material? Who is writing it? Why the fuck is there a new COIE story?

EXPLAIN

No Murphy art
No hype

>EXPLAIN
none have come out, so we don't know what the fuck is in them

It’s the kid from the end of Laughs
Omega is the kid from the end of Laughs
This is all a Dark Multiverse trying to be sneaky and not admit it, and “his dark reflection’s shadow” is making it too obvious

I will be sincerely impressed if there is a less obvious twist to the whole thing

I'm still interested somewhat.

>It’s the kid from the end of Laughs
The end of what?

>The rift between the Multiverse and Dark Multiverse

Can. Can someone catch me up on what the shit’s been happening in Flash Forward? I haven’t been following it but what the fuck man

I still find it mindblowing the Tasmanian Devil is canon in DC

Orlando writes a good WW, wouldn’t mind him taking over from Wilson.

Wait, didn't the Batman who keks die?
Like, I know his whole thing is being Batman+Joker so he has ultimate preptime and plot armor, they better explain how he's not dead.

>”How could I ever have foreseen this crazy goddess of Actually Doom destroying all of existence?!”
>Lex Luthor, super genius

This is what you get for reenacting the Cell Saga, Lex.

Nothing good ever comes of reenacting the Cell Saga.

Hey if Ennis loves the shit outta Superman and Thor despite all the shade he flings at the former I can buy that Didio has a soft spot for the Metal Men

Great cover
>Bill sienk art
Based

Yea Forums is retarded and doesn’t understand not everything takes place at the same time

>he’s convinced the only way for the human race to survive is if Tim is taken off the board

Nobody else is getting offended about this atrocity, so I will. Fuck off, Kat. For all his other failings as a human being Constantine stood the fuck UP for Tim with the rest of the Trenchcoat Brigade back in the original Books of Magic run once they realised Mister E was being a creepy cunt. But sure, go ahead and shit on one of Constantine’s soft spots after the rest of DC’s coyly bringing back his old backstory watered down and retold ambiguously.

It’s a mini you dumbass. A mini that got expanded from 6 issues to 12.

>Wan
>WAN

[SCP Foundation intensifies]

Also I’m amazed at how much more of a fuckup Daniel is than Morpheus. And Morpheus spent most of his run being literally suicidal.

Between Green Lanterns and Dial H Humphries has completely redeemed himself in my eyes. He can put out quality work when he wants to.

>DC Black Label
>a story involving neither Batman nor the Joker
Finally someone with balls shows up

I really, really wish they’d show him flexing a new multiverse into existence sometime soon. People meme Dr. Doom about shit like this all the time, but I think it’s about time these hacks reminded everyone why Luci’s the greatest power under the heavens already.

Really want them to solicit a trade for this. I really like this book.

I know Yea Forums has a hateboner for KSD but I actually like her run and this looks batshit insane.

>Darkseid offers to help Superman
>Darkseid
>Help Superman

I haven’t read this, but I am amazed the one user who responded to this apparently thinks it’s good. Might pick it up desu

Shit, is this dying? I’ve been loving it.

Nu Doom Patrol isn’t the Doom Patrol I wanted, but it’s a decent splash of art and adventure. I do wish they’d stop trying so hard to be weird, my favourite run was the one where the Patrol had to keep confronting the bleakness of “mundanity”.

Fuck this ric shit

>Having ascended to near godhood
...I’ve really been out of touch with Deathstroke what the fuck

It ended not too long ago

>art by XERMANICO
I see Morrison is once again working with another one of the decent Wonder Woman artists

>plans to bend Hypertime to his will
OH NO
HE CAN MAKE DEATH OF THE NEW GODS CANON pfhahahahaHAHAHAHAHA nigga what does that even mean? What do the words “bend Hypertime to his will” ACTUALLY MEAN? This is DC’s equivalent of saying Jiren is stronger than time holy shit

Yeah, it ended with him dying and begging for mercy as his jaw was fucking broken, I want to know how is he apparently still alive and able to infect heroes.

>Nora Fries’s bloodlust
When the fuck did this happen?

I’m glad Circe is getting some love

Guess where not getting a superman by johns omnibus any time soon

Aww yiss,He-Man is DC's Conan now

One based comic this month

Circe Rojo > Diana Blanco > Ultimate Zatanna

No but seriously while JL is frantically trying to up the stakes, with how much JLD is selling how bullshit DC magic is the stakes here are stupendously higher than anything in any other book right now.

>Black Cube

I see Darkseid managed to absorb Batman’s plot armor powers despite not successfully possessing him in The Return of Bruce Wayne or during all the Simon Hurt shit

>Grail gets control of Themyscira
>Cheetah gets control of Themyscira

I’m starting to question the Amazon willingness to accept violent coups

I’m hoping it makes it to issue 25 but yeah I don’t know how long this will last.

You say that like it’s a bad thing.

>Superman and Batman posing at each other while Mr. Mxyptik and Bat-Mite brawl above their heads

Remember you weren’t a faggot? I don’t.

>Jessica Cruz
>Leadership
Bruh
Bruh they’re already in the Omega Sanction

No but seriously that was the single most out of character moment in every single DC comic ongoing at the moment, and I’m counting Bendis writing Kryptonian science council bar mitzvahs and what King did to Batman. But then between Secret and Grail, writers seem to have a thing for Darkseid being inexplicably nicer to daughterus for some reason

Jesus Christ I see this story in libraries and bookstores but does anyone actually like it?

Something something birds vs bats something the Source

I’m calling it right now: It’s not a coincidence Hawkgirl has a map to the 6th Dimension in her wings, they’ve been pushing Hawkgirl a LOT in JL and the Source’s enforcer against Perpetua and her army is a big damn space bird

The weakest Superman origin of all and it doesn’t even make sense now with the new LoSH. Honestly just make Wolfman’s Origin the canon one.

Batman Who Laughs had a solo. Yes, I know. The fucking normies love him apparently. And at the end of it Batman brought in a little innocent boy Bruce Wayne from Dark Multiverse to distract Laughs’ murderboner for just long enough to shoot him with depleted uranium electrified harpoons and bop him in the jaw with Martha’s headstone

Yes, it’s retarded.

Yes, this is canonically what it takes to beat Laughs when he isn’t amped by Barbatos bringing literally a whole multiverse at his back

Did the others see how Tim was a magic nazi in the future, or was it just Mister E? This Constantine's supposed to be from the timeline that Tim went nuts in and successfully killed him in.

Darkseid just wants a harem

I mean, he still bitchslapped her, stomped her hand and beamed the fuck out of her..

At least a few good things this month. How bad DC is right now often makes me forget there are a few really good things that nobody is paying attention to.

This is actually pretty famous for DC fanboys hating it at the time for being "silly". It's since gained a small cult following, it deserves more.

Orlando has done a couple fillins already. They're really good, too.

porn when

Just Mister E, and while that makes somewhat more sense Life During Wartime was objectively trash and shouldn’t be an example to be followed.

Please, that’s just what Darkseid does to get out of awkward conversations

I liked Hitch in Hawkman but for some reason I really hate the way he draws Batman

How many times are we gonna reference that one panel? They're kind of tacitly admitting that Knightfall's the only thing worthwhile with Bane.

No it's not

>adding notRiri to the book
>that shitstained suit on Tim
At this point you can't deny DC just wants to get their property destroyed

Writers normally focus on few books because they don't want to scatter their talent and focus too much for quality sake.
When you don't have none of them and wipe your ass with quality you can write as much as you wish.

63 - YOUNG JUSTICE (Wonder Comics) ($3.99)
01/2019: Young Justice #1 -- 73,952 (+974,2%) [76,654]
02/2019: Young Justice #2 -- 37,081 (- 51.6%)
03/2019: Young Justice #3 -- 33,683 (- 9.2%)
04/2019: Young Justice #4 -- 31,319 (- 7.0%)
05/2019: Young Justice #5 -- 29,821 (- 4.8%)
06/2019: Young Justice #6 -- 28,182 (- 5.5%)
07/2019: Young Justice #7 -- 26,777

Where do you get these numbers?

Okay, I know we’re all trying very hard not to think about the current Justice League run but I can’t stop going over one question: Realistically, HOW are they going to beat Perpetua? Because the trend I’ve noticed is DC heroes don’t seem to be “allowed” as much external aid as Marvel heroes for dealing with endgame cosmic threats. Even in Metal the Monitor was a hostage for most of the story and the cincher was portrayed as the League holding hands and thinking happy thoughts with him not the Monitor himself.

> JJBA since they now own the rights for it?

Say what

>Black Manta is back

Holy fuck so damn based

Yeah I’ve found the trick to enjoying modern DC these days is to find a niche bunch of titles you’re interested in, and stick to them while ignoring the metaplot. If you’re like me and you can enjoy JL for the dumb saturday morning cartoon it is, great, you have an easier time. But if you can’t, there’s nothing wrong with following Dial H for Hero or The Green Lantern or something else that more or less ignores that shit.

When user became a faggot

Oh Avery what are you even doing?

This should just be the GL tagline

Occasionally crossed out with Guy scribbled underneath.

>CRISIS ON INFINITE EARTHS GIANT #1

I'm sorry what?

And once in a blue moon Kyle.

I’m gonna laff if it’s just the Anti-Monitor crying in his room about how his brother broke all his toys and nobody understands how hard his life is. Seriously, while everyone’s complaining about J’onn and Kendra and Luthor the Anti-Monitor’s suffered the most character assassination in JL because it made it so his whole motivation boils down to a temper tantrum.

>I think it's safe to say that Black Label is the only thing DC has going for it ATM
They have Reis, Coipel, Sharp and Rafa Sandoval.

Man, 48 pages only :/ I want more

>The original Constantine
Wait what? How? Didn't he end up at that eternal limbo pub?

Remember The Books of Magic? Mister E took Tim a walk to the future.
At around 2007, an aged Tim declared war and there was a huge fight. Young Tim meet Constantine as he was bleeding out, and Tim lit a cigarette for him before he died.
It's supposed to somehow be that Constantine. It's not that new, since older Hellblazer had future moments that never ended up happening.

Fucking amazing.

B-But this sucked!

I kinda like it

Why’s tin wearing a fucking skirt?

This is a good story, and the finale to George Perez's Wondy run, so of course they're gonna collect it. But why in the FUCK would you include all the god awful tie-ins? Those are the reason people remember this story badly.

ONLY read the mini and the Wondy issues, NOTHING ELSE for god's sake. It's fine. Not the best part of the run, but it's fine. Really.

Simple, Didio is a incompetent retard who don’t have a cohesive vision so Bendis, Snyder and King do whatever.

Since no one here even give enough of a shit to storytime this book, I guess I’ll storytime it to the end.
Favorite YA book right now.

Sounds pretty comprehensive to me.

I love her writing but her lib idea of diversity is just so boring. For a GL which members includes a fucking box, a star, a planet and a flu her main character is still a black woman.

And yet most of them are probably incredibly unhappy despite this.

Their standards are way too high..

>Huh. Another new Harley book? What's this one about?
It's a retelling of her origin story. Also apparently there's a Two-Face subplot?

Huh. Color me surprised.

Lobo's nipples

Hitch shouldn't do cover. Love the guy. but he works best on technical/splash pages. Also not a fan of how some colorists handle his work. Its very easer for his work to be ruined by bad colorists i've noticed.

NOT ENOUGH BATSHIT!
Moar Bat, moar Harley, moar Joker, moar Robin!!!
Am I right, DC bros?
MOAR BAT!!!!!

>Bro, there's a 1520 page Starman omni fished out, but hasn't been solicited yet
fuck that shit. im with this guy cause i just want the tp omnibi. all the versions of v02 i could find are so fucking expensive. also dc could collect shade the changing man instead of another fucking superman reprint jfc

Bendis is so untalented and a bad writter, his only skill is to kill the main hero to replace it with a minority, hes killing every series hes touching starting with superman which is already dead

This run any good?

WB owns the distribution rights for Jojo for the NA market

It's the same Giants that Walmart had, now available to comic shops.

I've never seen evidence of some of them though, like the War and Crisis giants. I can't find any info about them.

>Can someone catch me up on what the shit’s been happening in Flash Forward?
The first issue isn't out yet.

It's notorious in that it ended abruptly due to the fact that it and the New Gods were brought back as part of the DE Explosion and were among the first books killed when DC canceled all of the DC Explosion books (in the DC Implosion).

This is made worse, in that the writers of New Gods got a couple of issues of Adventure Comics to wrap up their run (and later, a coda arc in JLA) but Englehart* got nothing and the story remains unfinished.

*Englehart doesn't mind though; even though Marshall Rogers did the art for his run, he hated working on the book. When he found out it was being canceled mid-storyline, he convinced DC to not credit him for the last issue so he woudn't get bugged by fans over what the plans were for the book had it not been canceled. And from there, was born Englehart's "John Harkness" alias which he uses whenever he stops giving a shit and doesn't want to be associated with whatever editorial crap he is being forced to shill.

Because it's really funny. At least, I'm really enjoying it.

That Andolfo cover, though. Mmm.

Not even remotely. Seriously, if you have any love for Kirby, don't touch it. It's not as bad as the Byrne stuff, but it's not worth anyone's time. Can't believe they're reprinting that shit.

It is, I'm really bummed, but I'm glad it's going out on its own terms, and 50 issues for a villain book is nothing to sneeze at.

There's no response to idiocy like except Amen, friend user. Amen.

Priest is actually making Year of the Villain more than just a random tie-in issue - he's making it thematically and plot relevant to his own story organically.

You are so fucking wrong in everything.

While some folks have tried to rehab War of the Gods, as a crossover, when it came out it was WIDELY REVILED AND HATED. Even George fucking Perez disowned it within months of it coming out because he was contractually required to do War of the Gods (after yelling at DC to let him do something big for Wonder Woman's 50th Anniversary, which backfired on everyone involved when it was universally shitted on by fans and critics). This meant that Perez basically was forced to quit work on Infinity Gauntlet, which pissed off Marvel and dashed any hopes Perez had of getting back into the good graces of Marvel under Tom DeFalco after rage quitting Marvel when Shooter took over/Jim Starlin begging Marvel to let Perez come back to Marvel given how badly his split with them was.

The four issue story was printed on shitty newsprint, a move DC pulled after promising Perez high quality paper to print the run. This meant that sections of the story (but especially the last issue, and the segment when the dead rise) are unreadable due to the poor printing making everything black blob-like.

The ONLY ONLY ONLY good thing about it was the tie-ins. They were the only bits anyone gave a fuck about. In particular, the Lobo/Captain Marvel fight, the Pariah issue of New Titans (which was filled with Crisis shout-outs and spotlight on Lilith), and the Suicide Squad stuff with Grant Morrison getting killed.

Perez fucking hates it and everyone involved would prefer it be swept under the rug of shit we don't talk about. The tie-ins are the only good part of the whole thing.

I feel like Williamson has been doing the same plots over and over again.

Unfortunately for you, I don't give a fuck. It's a satisfying finale to one of the definitive Wondy runs. I don't really give a fuck about your ancient editorial politics and publishing errors that have long since become irrelevant.

The tie-ins are generally atrocious and inconsequential, like most tie-ins usually are, especially in the fucking 90's. Sorry you couldn't enjoy the main story.

I wonder how long Snyder, Bendis, and King (?) are going to stay architects of DC considering how reviled almost everything is right now (except smaller books that nobody is paying attention to anyway). Like even during new 52, as reviled as it was, JL, Batman, and a few other big mainline books like WW, Flash, GL etc were still well liked enough.
Not to mention how the new 52 sales blow rebirth and post rebirth out of the water so what fans thought didn't matter..

At a certain point in the near future, Didio's job security will come into question by the higher ups. Until he's gone, nothing will change.

We'd probably end up with some WB suit who doesn't know shit about comics

That's because they irrevocably salted the earth binding Barry to the pre-death of Iris status quo, while inserting elements of the TV show that no one liked (IE the race bending) and shitting on wallyfags.

When Barry came back, they had an actual GOOD set-up for him ironically. Their own "man out of time" who died at the height of the 80s and came back to life in the late 00s. His entire life was basically ruined at the end of the series: he killed a man and was a pariah, he drove his girlfriend (the one he got with after Iris "died") irreversibly insane and didn't give a shit about destroying her life, and let's not also forget that by outing himself as Flash, Barry pretty much DESTROYED his career as a CSI tech, giving EVERY criminal he ever sent to jail a get out of jail free card by way of allowing them to argue in court that Barry framed them.

They could have radically reinvented Barry, dealing with the culture shock of missing 24 years of history. They could have gone full in on 80s nostalgia by having Barry be reborn as the prototypical 80s guy waking up in the 00s, having missed huge cultural shifts in society, politics, and technology (IE the internet).

Instead, they pussied out and not only saddled Barry with further sociopathy in terms of allowing his parents' lives be ruined but also immediately going back to the same fucking tired status quo of Barry doing CSI. Even with the asspull from Geoff's Flash run which erased the public's knowledge of Barry being Flash, it was a huge fucking cop-out with them saying "Barry was in witness protection" and having him slide back into his old life, as if every Flash story from #275-350 and the entire Wally run never happened.

We should have seen Barry FUNDAMENTALLY REVAMPED after his return. Even acknowledge that he had a "fresh start" due to Hal mindwiping everyone and have him try and find a new life for himself. Make him a vagabond who travels the globe, having adventures and trying to keep a low profile and shit; Wally stays the "public" Flash with the JLA membership and stuff but Barry does stuff underground and off the radar fighting bad guys.

Worse, Flashpoint erased this potential (IE Barry dealing with missing about 24 years worth of change) and further canonizes Mark Waid's character assassination of Barry by having Barry erase Wally and Bart from existence and doom his parents to a fate worse than death, because he let Reverse Flash bullshit him into thinking he can't stop him from fucking with the timestream and ruining his life. Because Barry only cares about himself and his situation as the one true Flash.

So we get a Flash who AGAIN, is stuck in a world where everything after #274 never happened and this time we have it canonized that those missing issues NEVER HAPPENED and now we have 27 years of Flash franchise lore erased. And thanks to the TV, characters are getting blacked and the entire debacle with Wally being erased and replaced with a surly black replacement that was so hated and reviled, he was vanished after his first arc due to backlash and only brought back to prominence because DC was too fucking spineless to kill him off/erase him from existence in Rebirth.

Barry is broke because no one gives a fuck about him or the Silver Age status quo with him. Even fucking Iris is an artifact that has been cheapened, defiled, and desecrated to the point that even the die-hard Flash fans don't care that her marriage to Barry was erased and that they aren't even a couple. Just fuck buddies. And they've so fucked the pooch with the only exciting angle of his resurrection, the "man out of time" angle, that they can't even do that anymore because the window for it is now long gone. And then there is the Wally/Black Wally/Flashpoint issues, which has salted the earth for the return to the point that no one cares for Barry.

If any character needed a Born Again/Fall From Grace "salt the earth of the status quo so nothing ever grows back" retool, it would be Barry. Because right now, the character is utterly doomed and you can't do a damn fucking thing to fix it so long as you have editorial screaming "pre-#275 status quo MUST be enforced no matter what".

Most likely, yes. That's already happened at the level right above DiDio, actually. She's the reason Black Label has been stillborn.

It will happen again and again, because no one wants to fix the actual problems with the US comic industry. They just want to figure out how to scramble and milk every desperate dollar from the slavish fans. They won't stop with the constant events and crossovers that pollute the reading experience of individual books. They won't stop with the ridiculous 20-pages monthly format. They won't stop publishing 90% superhero comics. They won't do any of this, because those things cause low sales in the short term. In the long-term, term, they would finally bring the comic industry into bed with the regular book industry as a normal popular medium. But no one wants to commit to that vision. No one cares enough to try. Everyone has quotas to meet and bosses to please. There will be no multi-year commitment to a healthy, sustainable direction because only short-term profits are considered for such a weakly performing subdivision.

Disagree faggot.

Fuck, for all of the shit people talk about Wonder Woman under Perez NO ONE, fucking NO ONE gives a shit about how it ends in part because of how fucking garbage War of the Gods ends.

Hell, most people don't even know Perez's run went to #62 because sales/interest in his run died the second he stopped drawing it. Hence why the issues with other artists got dumped into the omnibuses whereas the trades stopped at the exact moment Perez stopped drawing.

it's the most iconic Batman related image since The Killing Joke

I don't care that you disagree, nor do I care to fuel your self-hatred and anger problems. I hope you get better. It's okay to ask for help.

Not the poster in question, but Wizard made a huge point of crapping on War of the Gods and even did a piece praising the LEGION issue with the Lobo/Shazam fight as the sole high point of the entire affair.

And Perez has never said anything good about War of the Gods, in public. Which is a big thing, as Perez has always been proud of his work and talked it up whereas, with Wonder Woman, he never mentions WoTG or his ending of his run, when talking about it.

So unless you are Phil Jimenez, white knighting old George, you are being an unfunny troll here given that isn't lying about how War of the Gods was received and how it's an old shame of Perez that he's embarrassed by.

What is the point of you trying to convince me that I don't like a story? Honestly, what is your end goal here? You aren't very good at gaslighting, but even if you were...to what end?

It's not a satisfying ending. It was a huge clusterfuck of an event, one DC disowned faster than you can say "Convergence" or even "Heroes In Crisis". Even George Perez hates it and has trashed it in every single interview he's done when it's brought up.

Perez's Wonder Woman is one of those runs where everyone "says it's good" but never actually read it and realized that it's only "good" because of it's artwork and the fact that Wonder Woman was a horrible book prior to it's reboot.

Loeb's run is far better than the Perez run, and even the Byrne run did more to make Wonder Woman fun. At best, Perez gave us best Cheetah and a Wonder Woman more grounded into Greek Mythology; though the later pretty much cost Wonder Woman nearly her entire rogue gallery in the process.

Phil Jimenez or Andy Mangels, or Kurt Busiek or whoever the fuck you are? Please go to bed. Or at the very least, pick a better story to try and white knight because War of the Gods is not the hill to die on.

Are you really this angry that someone likes a book you don't like? Do you realize how infantile you are being?

Who's dying? What are you gonna do to stop me from liking War of the Gods? Why do you care?

I should note, IIRC, Perez was only brought onto Wonder Woman at the very last minute (forcing DC to run a flashback mini with Kurt Busiek and Tina Robbins to fill time).

Some other guy had been hired to write Wonder Woman but his scripts were rather dire and Perez (who was set to just draw the book) essentially offered to do an emergency rewrite on the first 1-2 issues. Which led to him pushing for a more Greek mythology themed take on the character. At which point, they fired the original writer and gave the book entirely to Perez to write/draw.

Perez also disowned Infinity Gauntlet too. He was tricked into drawing it by Starlin. Because he was told that it was going to be the "grand finale" of the Thanos/Warlock saga.

But midway through production, editorial and Starlin were already plotting out Infinity War and Perez realized he was tricked and bailed on the book. He's since said he should never of done it and that Ron Lim (who drew Silver Surfer at the time and drew the last couple of issues) should have drawn the entire thing.

You must be new to the internets. Let alone Yea Forums.

Also saying you like War of the Gods is like saying you like garbage comics and have garbage tastes. Because it's not hyperbole that it's one of the worst DC crossovers ever made. It's THAT bad.

Okay, so what? Get to the point.

I stopped reading Wonder Woman after the arc were Doctor Psycho mindrapes Vanessa and forces her mother to severe ties to Wonder Woman after he gets away with framing Wonder Woman for driving Vanessa insane. Does anything else happen in the Perez run of note/value? Or even the William Messner Loeb run before Artemis shows up?

>uge change to the status quo of the world of Superman
Please tell me that it's undoing Bendis' the previous issues of his run?

>You must be new to the internets. Let alone Yea Forums.
You're the one who still values majority opinion and the myth of consensus like it's fucking Usenet in 1995. Grow up already.

He's saying your being a faggot.

Also, making fun of you for shitting on people for calling out a shit sandwich by claiming that person's opinion doesn't count and not offering any real proof in your defense of War of the Gods as far as why it doesn't suck.

The Messner-Loeb run had Wonder Woman get a fast food job and a lengthy arc where Wonder Woman gets lost in space and helps a bunch of alien women sold into slavery escape from the gravel pit they are forced to work in. It also has a bunch of Brian Bolland covers, one of which (#72 IIRC) goes for about $100+ due to the cover art being used heavily in promotional ads and other mainstream outlets.

Proof? Do you not understand how opinions work? I never shit on anyone. Only you have done that. I stated that I enjoyed something, and you've made it your mission to convince me otherwise. You are very uncomfortable with the idea that other people disagree with you, and that is a trait that I suggest you work on in your daily life. I think you'll find a lot more happiness that way. You don't have to be so angry inside. Instead of letting it out, try letting it go.

Not this faggot but the pros and cons of War of the Gods

Pros
---------
>>First story to do WW turned to clay by a bad guy and make it work as a holy shit moment
>>The entire bit with Superman desperately trying to protect the Amazons as they try and resurrect WW in issue #4
>>The scene where a possessed Lobo rescues Donna Troy from being used as a living battery only for the heroes to panic and attack Lobo because they don't know he's possess for good and fear he's going to kill Donna
>>The tie-ins are pretty good, but mostly Shazam/Lobo

Cons
-------
>>As someone said already, the production issues are garbage and make the book unreadable. In particular, the zombie fight in issue #4 suffers the most of this.
>>Said zombie fight is also super freaking brief and should have been longer/explored in the tie-ins
>>They also screwed up the basic premise: the Greek and Roman Gods and only the Greek and Roman Gods going to war. No other pantheons should have been fighting and Captain Marvel deserved a larger role in it.
>>It cemented the notion of Circe as Wonder Woman's top enemy, which sucked as Circe is a crappy villain
>>The Titans tie-in is utterly skippabe and existed soley so that Wolfman could try and get fans to beg DC to reprint Crisis (which at the time had been embargoed from TPB release due to it's size)
>>The first two issues are super freaking boring and the plot moves way too slowly and the stakes don't feel high enough to care or give a fuck.

>How the FUCK does Neal Adams keep getting work? He lost his mind years ago.

>This looks so fucking stupid I'm sold

Thanks for sharing your opinions. I don't agree with you but I respect you as a person.

See how easy that was? Now you try.

It's more likely a patch to explain what the fuck Vic has been doing now that his death has been erased from canon and they have to fill in where the hell he's been for the last couple of years.

Again, do you know how internet works?

At the very least, defend your statement. The faggot above has at least given a defense for his statements and your "I disagree with you but won't defend my belief that WoTG is good" doesn't even cut the mustard given the smug your are giving off.

Which makes me think is onto somethng and you are a comic pro/hanger on incognito having a freak out because a project you worked on is getting shitted on.

Everyone! We have a glow in the dark comic industry type here!

Either that or this guy is an Omega level concern troll trying out his bit here on this board!

He’s as imortal as the specter of communism itself.

It's probably just your imagination. If was a pro, he'd have said who he was by now in the name of shutting up the people telling him his baby (War of the Gods) was ugly.

Why would I defend my statement? I have no interest in debating you on the quality of an old comic. The internet is what you make it, and you're choosing to make it shittier. I choose to maintain some modicum of dignity for the both of us. Why does it hurt you so much that I like something? It doesn't hurt me at all that you dislike it. In fact its that difference in opinion that makes us unique. It's what makes discussion worth having. But you don't want to discuss. You want to argue. I have no interest in this.

If you think basic human kindness comes off as "smug", then you might want to look at yourself instead of me to identify the issue.

>the only person who could POSSIBLY disagree with me must be an industry plant

Perez WW is trash but stop being such a whiny loser

Then why the fuck are you here? Debate the merits of it, if you are so fucking butt-hurt someone said it was shit and made an argument for why it was.

If not, you are just concern trolling/being an arbitrary troll shitting on people who don't like WoTG. Not because you like it, but because you are a fucking troll trying to get a rise out of people and you don't believe a word you say because deep down you know the folk you are attacking are right about it being sht.

Again, I've done no such thing. If you're angry because different opinions exist, then you have no one to blame but yourself.

Fairly certain I haven't said anything untrue thus far. You seem apt at inventing narratives though.
>you know the folk you are attacking are right about it being shit
I haven't attacked anyone, only you have done that. No one can be "right" about a story's objective quality, because there is no such thing. The distinction between fact and opinion is an important one.

It's just a comic. I enjoyed it. You didn't. The world moves on. If you have anything productive to say that doesn't involve hurling random insults and inventing narratives to feel right, I would love to hear it. I believe everyone is capable of more than they think.
