The man (Mark) is half human/half alien. His father came to Earth as part of a mission for his alien race to conquer other worlds. Part of that mission is to procreate with the natives. While a lot of the aliens chose human mates, the woman (Anissa) chose Mark because he's really strong and she wants her kids to be extra strong. Mark doesn't want to so they fight and she overpowers and rapes him.

Eventually she has his rape baby and things are really awkward because she became a better person and Mark and his son have a distant and strained relationship that eventually leads to them trying to kill each other

The real answer is comics are judged differently and more harshly than TV and books, as is vidya. I read a shitload of novels growing up. Most fiction (and quite a bit of history) has massive amounts of fairly graphic rape and molestation. TV shows and movies as long as they aren't on early (and even then, they are allowed implications) can get away with just short of porn now.
