hes Andy's favorite toy

I just remembered that he's the sheriff

He's literally the only toy that is not a braindead moron.

Better than rough draft woody

Being the favorite toy means you're the defacto leader. It's like a monarchy except instead of being chosen by an ephemeral figure you're actually physically chosen by the giant god-king of your life that visits you every day, and by whim that God-King can decide arbitrarily that you no longer are the best of the group.

Jesus

Woodys also the most level-headed and of the toys and the best of making plans and getting them out of the dangerous situations

Really want a prequel with asshole Woody before TS1.

He's got the sheriff's badge

The real antagonists of TS1 were Potatohead and co, Woody carried their asses hard.
Had they not redeemed themselves in 2, I would have wanted them to end up in Sid's.

The Wikipedia entry for Toy Story is wild. Here's a choice bit:

>In early screen tests, Pixar impressed Disney with the technical innovation but convincing Disney of the plot was more difficult. At each presentation by Pixar, Katzenberg would tear much of it up, giving out detailed comments and notes. Katzenberg's big push was to add more edginess to the two main characters. Disney wanted the film to appeal to both children and adults, and asked for adult references to be added to the film. After many rounds of notes from Katzenberg and other Disney executives, the general consensus was that Woody had been stripped of almost all charm. Hanks, while recording the dialogue for the story reels, exclaimed at one point that the character was a jerk. Lasseter and his Pixar team had the first half of the movie ready to screen, so they brought it down to Burbank to show to Katzenberg and other Disney executives on November 19, 1993, an event they later dubbed the "Black Friday Incident".

heh spring wiener

also thanks for sharing this

Why isn't Sarge the leader?

He's basically every Toy Story villain after 1.

Sheriff is higher.

Bonnie giving Jessie his badge must have pissed him off

he wasn't a selfish asshole, he was a jealous asshole. Before Buzz came by and started becoming favorite Woody was helpful and competent and a fairly good leader. He had never not been the favorite and had no idea how to handle it. He handled it poorly.

Because Toy Story is a deeply flawed and fucking retarded movie.

All of Pixars movies are petty dark selfish and have fucked up short sighted messages.

You answered your own question.

He's the oldest toy around therefore he has experience.

Yeah Andy was the one that instilled him in a position of power.

He has the divine right to rule in the toys' eyes. They are clearly a Theocratic society.

Pretty much this.

watch the movie again, you fucking stupid shit.

>Woody shits on Buzz for thinking he's a real space ranger
>Meanwhile Woody thinks he's a real sheriff

What a dick

What's wrong with the others?
With the probable exception of Rex.

>a movie having a message I disagree with is a bad movie
The soccer field is that way, ma'am.
