Just got my Conan omnis #2 in the mail. 10 more to go..
>most expensive thing in collection That I paid for? Batman 232 In terms of worth? Colossal Conan #1, since it’s rare and will never be reprinted since DH lost the rights.
>shintaro kago A man of culture I see. The one on the bottom left looks interesting, what's it about?
Anthony Davis
What region are you? That Cult looks new (with the logo), but I didn't think that's been printed in NA in a while
Jaxon Lee
I'm in the midwest, it says it's part of the 7th printing from 2016.
Caleb Scott
>Most expensive thing Probably ASM Omnibus. A lot of the stuff I have that's oop, I found for decent prices. Currently reading Thor Epic Collection 1. Halfway thru that tpb and enjoying it a lot. It's my first time reading the run. No spoilers Recently bought the Tekken Art Book from a 3rd party for almost half price. It's pretty good, wouldn't have been worth 90
If you like the start of Kirby Thor ooo nelly just wait till you get to the really good stuff.
Gavin Young
Yeah I've heard it really kicks up later, but I like the general approach way more than I expected. It's just fun stuff that uses its premise in entertaining ways, imo. I can't wait to get further in next I have time to read
Luke Walker
What does the gem mint guy do afford it all? He seems like a tattoo artist to me. This guy practically owns every omnibus/absolute/whatever released from the big two. His statue collection is something to behold as well.
Yeah I adore Kirby's Thor. Sometimes I wanna say I like it more than Simonson. But it's like picking which of your children you love more. The first "it's picking up" moment is probably the introduction of Tales of Asgard (JIM 97 I wanna say?). and the next "it's picking up moment" is somewhere in the 110s with the introductions of stuff like the Destroyer and Hercules. Everything from the 110s thru the end is just amazing.
Especially... THE MANGOG!! POSSESSING THE POWER OF A BILLION BILLION BEINGS!! God bless you Stan. Thor is the best comic of the 60s for me. I'm excited for you to read it.
i always figured he ran a comic shop, hence he pays wholesale prices for this stuff and not retail prices
Brandon Barnes
Hes probably an unironic trust fund babby
Ryan Murphy
Yo, sounds like I'm in for a good haul then. I'll get back in when I'm awake enough tomorrow.
Xavier Williams
Oh fuck yeah. People always go on and on about Stan Lee's FF or Spider-Man, and they're good, but Thor takes the cake. I'm pretty sure it's just less exposed. Between Kirby's cosmic mythology and Lee's faux-Shakespearean bombast it's a perfect synthesis.
Luis Gutierrez
he works at an electric company doing a desk job
Sebastian Davis
Warau kyūketsuki 'smile of the vampire' It's a crazy work about juvenile vampires doing shitty stuff in the same vein as Kago's. The art it's great
>What’s the most expensive thing in your collection? by cover price? Sandman absolutes by resell value? Borgias first printing in HC, all three volumes by how much I paid? The Complete Crepax, at least one of them I didn't wait for a good sale and paid quite a bit.
Ya I love Kirby Thor too and Mangog is SO FUCKING AMAZING, he just tears through everything with no effort at all. Shame that whenever they bring him back they screw that up.
Even so, I still put Robert Rodi and Simonson above his run.
Nah, I was happy af. I have that omni, the archives and the 2 book set as well. Kamandi is my favorite comic.
Nolan Green
>Kamandi is my favorite comic. i can dig that then. it's nice to have the original issues because you get the original colors. older comics usually look better on the paper it was printed on.
like for me I have the Simonson Thor omnibus and I have the full run in floppies because I love it so much. this makes even more sense to me because the Omnibus has a recoloring (not a terrible one, but it's nice to have two different ways of reading the same comic. especially one you love so much.)
Owen Sanchez
I missed out on the one per store thank you variant for Once & Future #1 :/
Should I pass on Thor if I'm not really a fan of the other Kirby stuff I've read?
Dylan Watson
Nice Urasawa. How are you liking 20th century boys? I reread it this week and I remembered why I like his style so damn much.
Christopher Gonzalez
At least try it. Read the Mangog saga (154-157), if you don’t like that, then you won’t like the rest. It’s worth saying that the Mangog story is the climax of some build up, but you can still enjoy it alone
Caleb Murphy
I am pretty sure he is a drug dealer
Dominic Morris
I'll check it out. I really want to see Ego. Not because of GOTG or whatever that movie was he was in but because I want to see the guy who inspired one of the best Monster Magnet songs.
What are some essential wonder woman comics? I want to get into her giggity but I didnt care much for Azzerellos run and I enjoyed some parts of greg ruckas dc rebirth run. I'm thinking of picking up George Perez' run since thats considered the best, but what are some others?
Messner-Loebs, who came right after Perez, was good
Matthew Brown
Meant for
Jackson Young
Yes, get Perez's run. I would also recommend Loeb's run. I also enjoy her golden age stuff, but I understand that the golden age comics aren't for everyone. The Wonder Woman '77 books are fun as well.
I read it a couple of years ago. I was really enthralled by it. Never read 21st so I don't know how it really ends tho.
Christopher Hall
Messner Loebs
Matthew Harris
Different Loebs. This one is one-armed and literally homeless. Only the last bit of it has been collected under "Wonder woman by Mike Deodato JR" because his name sells, not WML's. There's an unannounced and unsolicited "Wonder Woman by William Messner Loebs" in the edelweiss catalog, but who knows if it will actually come out
Jordan Evans
I probably won't buy anything new this month I'm saving for a lot of December and October releases.
Probably just keep doing what I do now, wait until a writer or artist comes out with something new and support that, or I was thinking of getting into black hammer, it seems like that universe has a lot of titles coming out lately
Eli Mitchell
Small week this week >Ultra Kaiju vol 3 >Ninja Turtles: Urban Legends vol 1 >Junji Ito: Gyo >Komi san vol 2 >Sleeping princess vol 8
Yes, I am aware of my shitty taste.
Angel Sanchez
I can't trust Yea Forums on this, would you recommend Komi's translations? I mean I know nothing of Japanese but some Yea Forumsnons were not fond of them.
Adam Hernandez
I like them. Though it isn't like I read Komi's raws before.
Jackson Clark
I should really stop ordering online. This is really beat to shit. The books aren't fucked, but the corners are bent, and I'm autistic enough that it bothers me but not enough to return them.
It's depressing. I stopped buying from Amazon since they messed up too much. And B&N is usually good with packaging, aside from one paperback they shipped in a weird tight cardboard envelope that kind of warped it. But even when they package it right it my books come in beat up. This box had airbags that might've helped a bit, but one busted whenever it got crushed.
Jack Young
Not who you're replying to, but now it's just the lcs or instocktrades for me.
>be me >buy a trade paperback from Amazon >its in an envelope >mailman stuffs it in the mailbox
Buy from IST they take forever with shipping but are really good at the way they handle their packaging. I think after $50 it's free shipping and a lot of their stuff is cheaper than Amazon
Landon Sullivan
I just read Brat Pack again, this time with the additional pages and new ending. Not sure how I feel about it. The new pages seem kind of on the nose with what was a twist in the original ending. The IDW collection is pretty good overall. Includes a bunch of great extras. They did make a weird decision to add some digital gradients into some sound effects and word balloons though.
Nice. I have the floppies in the mail right now. I read the first issue recently and found it interesting that Talbot added word balloons for the Dark Horse release. I need to see what the British issues looked like.
The left side are my newest purchases from this last weekend.
Scored a bunch of fantasy novel graphic novels I didn't realize existed. I'm looking forward to reading these, I was a huge fan of Xanth back in the 90s.
I also managed to find a Daemonfuge for $3 I was thrilled about.
I recently bought the Crisis on Infinite Earths trade and I'm really enjoying it so far. >What’s the most expensive thing in your collection? Probably the completer Ex Machina hardcover.
Whenever this happens just call them and be pissed off. They'll refund all your money, and you get to keep the books. But you gotta really be pissed off. They just wanna get you off the phone. I do this with Amazon all he time. If a single thing is wrong with the book, I call and get 20-30% off. If a lot is wrong I call and get reallllly mad and get a full refund.
Also if you're feeling like cheating the system you can literally lie about all of it, there's no way to prove. I've been pissed off with Amazon enough to do this once or twice. Hope you're a good voice actor.
Ayden Peterson
Piskor is that you?
Landon Flores
Amazon support has the ability to refund 100% of any transaction and no returns necessary, I've done this a few times with very good condition listings that turned out to be used library books, I've never had an issue getting a refund.
Samuel Anderson
Yeah. And usually the first person on the phone will say some shit like "I am only authorized to refund 20%" so you say "Pass me to someone who IS authorized to fully refund." I'm sure they get phone calls like this all day every day because of how shitty their packaging is, so they just want you off the phone.
Aaron Gutierrez
My favorite thing about those events where everyone comes out of the woodworks is trying to figure out who I don't know anything about.
Jonathan Campbell
>first person on the phone Okay, grampa. Try using chat next time. Refund, no proof needed, every time.
Isaac Smith
I've never had a problem on the phone and find it a quick experience, fuck you. But yeah chat sounds like a good idea too. Sometimes though I like yelling at some poor Pajeet about how my manga is damaged.
Quit blaming the company that mails this. This is clearly the deliverly company. UPS is the fucking worst, they will kick shit around and throw things against each other all the time. There is no fucks given if UPS damages your shit, i work in receiving and the shit we get from them is abysmal. And there are WORSE delivery companies than them. Don't always blame the sender
Joshua Hughes
2/2
Really want to pick up those NECA TMNT figures but damn they skyrocketed in price.
Stop licking boots, in the case of Amazon it is absolutely their fault. They package it in toilet paper and throw it around like they don't care about it. Amazon warehouse stories are horror stories to people like us.
Carson Ross
How is The Hobbit? The Rankin/Bass movie from the 80s was so much better than the Jackson movies. Wondering how that adaption is
Adam Hall
Goddamn DC, how long is it going to take your asses to make an Absolute Multiversity?
Tyler Cox
Truth. Chat is better. Immediate results and no need to act.
Kevin King
I am not taking away blame from Amazon. But there are so many posts here of delivery drivers ramming shit in. That is the delivery drivers fault, they are the idiots abusing your shit. Why should you not blame the person litterally kicking your package. And yes, that is what UPS does every fucking time. If you package something and bubble wrap it if UPS handles it, that bubble wrap has a very good chance of being completely popped.
Luis Foster
The art is beautiful, if you liked Rankin/Bass you will love this graphic novel.
They compress a bit too much dialogue into it though, I really wish they did a 2 or 3 part volume'd series, some pages they try to squeeze what feels like 4-5 pages of the book worth of dialogue into it and it detracts from the artwork.
Still, I wish they did a Lord of the Rings series of graphic novels with this style, it's very relaxing to read.
Wyatt Reyes
The Hobbit i think had better prose than LoTR so i think this is appropriate. But yeah. This is almost picture book.
Jose Jenkins
Jesus fuck man, let the art do it for you. Not like the writing end of this is any challenge, seeing as it was done for you almost a hundred years ago.
Liam Evans
Any good french comics? I want to read something that isn't lewd.
What a nigger. If you bois will join me, I'll give you a small tour. On the top floor, Akira boxset, EVAs (one of which I got for free by mistake), and bionicle Witch Doctor.
2nd floor is for american , european and smaller books in general. Some of the americans include Transmetropolitan, Preacher, Maximum Carnage, plus some others I've bought at cons. Non-illustrated books also go here.
Christ on a cracker look at those words. May as well just read the book and then watch the movie..
Isaiah Watson
1st floor is for bigger and thicker books, most of which are artbooks. Notable amongst them are the Sin City artbook and the massive japanese art book I found at a thrift store. Cost me next to nothing because the owner is that much of a nig.
And , at last, in the basement, the second class citizens, the paperbacks. Most of these are variant covers of Fuck Fairyland and Simpsons, plus Punisher #4, where he punches a polar bear.
There's one more floor underneath, but that's just for drawing paper and general trash.
You poor bastard, you were following televisa's mangos. Also, any reason your vertigo tps are upside down? I KNOW YOU ARE NOT AN AUSTRALIAN SIR!
Gavin Walker
Not sure if anyone mentioned it but some tatoo artists who are really good can command a lot of money per customer and it seems like today everyone gets one or ten.
Jordan Davis
This is great, good job user
David Thompson
nice. RIP seth fisher
Lucas Young
That once and future book could be decent. turning king Arthur into a villain and saying Excalibur was loaned by a woman from a lake could go either way. Idk now that I think about it, that art style and the coloring looks like that gay shit. I'll still check out the next issue.
Angel Young
Hey Yea Forums always liked comics forever, where’s the best place to start? Bought a lot of comics recently, what’s the best way to start on a shelf? Can someone give me a QRD?
Easton Robinson
I got my Assassin Nation epic collection in the mail with that I am taking a break from collecting Spider-Man.
Parker Sanchez
The first buy in your shelf is where your heart leads. The best book in your shelf is your favorite book.
You can also just get watchmen, v for vendetta, some hellboy, sandman, or other so called best ever comic books. I like them fine but... You dont build a shelf to impress you impress with the shelf you built. In some of our cases literally.
Nathaniel Perry
And then a month after the movie came out, the english, non-shit translations get sold, in a fucking boxset no less. That's what I get for being impatient and cheap.
I've noticed the mistake, and have promptly fixed it. Thanks, user.
Lucas Robinson
Well what genres do you like? Are you into superheroes? When you read a comic, do you pay more attention to the art or to the story?
Dominic Young
buy everything because of FOOP
Henry Clark
>spend a couple of hours of updating my wishlist >so much stuff coming out >so much stuff already out I didn't know was out What I need is not new books but new shelves. And I'm not sure where I would put them. I'm also going to be buying the remastered Church and State II when it comes out.
Chase Richardson
>I'm also going to be buying the remastered Church and State II when it comes out. ?
Josiah Nguyen
They made a john wick comic?
Nolan Ramirez
There's this shitty old independent comic called Cerebus, and it's slowly getting released in Remastered Editions that have much nicer paper and the quality of the printed artwork is increased like a billion-fold. Left is original, right is the remastered version.
i know what church and state is. i just cant find anything about a reprint. link?
Jackson Allen
WHERE IS THE BOX?
Gabriel Cruz
>doesn't understand comics use words and art >doesn't understand more wordes can be good Ya...maybe you need to read more books and how they work with art
Comics aren't supposed to have walls of text. It defeats the purpose of presenting the work as a comic. Nevermind that you're cluttering up the panel and taking attention away from the art. It's not wrong to have books with illustrations, but this is not that. This has too much text. Not to say it's shit because of that, but it's definitely a con.
How are the translations for Berserk in Tacoland, judging by the Panini Press logo?
Ayden Hughes
Love superheroes, love these in particular: >Spider-Man >Wolverine >Punisher >Cable >X-Men >Spiderman 2099 >All 2099 Characters >Deadpool >Infinity Gauntlet Also like Preacher and some other shit this is just to name a fewz
Eli Brooks
Have you considered starting at the beginning?
Dylan Sanders
Cheapest way to collect hellboy is the omnis, I would start with the first one to see if you like it, start by reading wake the devil, then go back to seed of destruction. But yeah if you want to collect all of hellboy for cheap get the omnis, if you want to collect hellboy and have it look good on your shelf and dont mind paying extra then go for the library editions. Also check out BPRD. It takes place in the hellboy universe (Mignolaverse) and it's pretty damn good to
Connor Flores
To add to what this user says, I think BPRD (Plague of Frogs and Hell on Earth specifically) is better than Hellboy.
Levi Baker
Plague of Frogs is 100% better than Hellboy. It’s some of the best written comics ever
Jaxson Gonzalez
> Wolverine Depends on what runs you enjoy, there are some nice Epic collections out, but they are a bit slow on the releases.
I really liked the 2002 stuff and on, beginning with Brotherhood by Greg Rucka. That run continued with Jason Aaron which I still really liked. I also picked up Origin, Logan, and weapon X later which are all good.
You might also like Wolverine & The Xmen, by Jason Aaron, there is an Omni but it's pretty pricey, I just got all the individual volumes a couple at a time, they are affordable and you can read them at leisure.
The Death of Wolverine arc was really well done in my opinion one of my favorite "events" if you would call it that, and I am working on the hunt for Wolverine now from the aftermath of that run.
I feel like this sometimes, but I'm a sucker for a lot of the hellboy shorter stories like box full of evil, wolves of saint august, the third wish. But yeah I think BPRD as a whole is a better story, damn I love Daimios story and how they wrote that character, plus it had some James Harren art!
Leo Rodriguez
> Infinity Gauntlet This is what caused me to fall in love with comics. I recommend the collected trades; Infinity Gauntlet, Infinity War and Infinity Watch.
If you're really into it, the Infinity War Omni isn't too expensive right now because it was just released this spring, alongside Thanos Wars Omni, and Infinity Omni. These are all good reads, but all cost ~$80 each.
I also really really like Starlin's Infinity series which is still going.
A reference I like to use when collecting is Crushing Krisis.
I really like Wolverine, he's probably my 2nd favorite superhero behind Thanos. I'm not a huge Xmen fan, but he's been one I always like to pick up to read.
Gabriel Morgan
> Preacher If you like Preacher you might also like Hellblazer or Lucifer.
... there’s isn’t a lot of Hellboy out there and it all tells one big story. Start at the beginning
Zachary Powell
Literally all of it. Just start from the first issue.
Liam Young
*rescues*
Ayden Lopez
>Preacher Judas by Loveness is amazing. The Goddamned is edgy as fuck, but I like it. The guy that made Rice Boy(never read it, but I've heard good things) is coming out with a book about the Harrowing of Hell. amazon.com/dp/1945820446/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_awdb_t1_16EvDbB2K2V2N
Also you might try to find The Book of Genesis by Robert Crumb.
Nolan Nelson
Read more Ennis. Hitman specifically.
Samuel Foster
My shelves aren't very aesthetic right now - too many short term rents and moving about etc.
A few recent enjoyments have been Morrison's Doom Patrol, still making my way through Sandman and tried out Hellboy in these new paperback omnibuses - need to buy the short stories collections too.
Also been reading lots of Judge Dredd.
I'm trying to use libraries more - it's tricky following a full series though. I was hoping to read The Invisibles/Saga of the Swamp Thing without having to buy them!
>buying not one but TWO Dr. Strange omnis So you like Doctor Strange I take it?
Juan Cox
Which TMNT series do you like better?
Henry Hernandez
Nice! So much beutiful art in that book. I love that its chronological. Seeing the evolution of mignolas art is fun.
Noah Smith
Yeah, it's great but you get a lot of the same stuff if you also own the art of hellboy and the first 20 years. But here we get some other artists as well. Some I could do without.
Comics can be completely wordless or full of text, as long as they are sequential storytelling. Gatekeeping that is pleb filter
Wyatt Myers
i bought this around when the LOTR movies came out and absolutely loved it. read it several times. unfortunately the binding was shit and the pages started falling out.
Nolan Myers
I like reading. I like comics. But parts of one format don't work with the other.
Jeremiah Miller
This. The autistic note sheet for the music they wrote for V for Vendetta really took me out of the reading experience.
Cooper Walker
>note sheet what?
Jordan Price
I want to start getting the DC Gold/Silver/Bronze Age books. Are the omnis good? I really prefer hardcovers.
Adam Parker
Have you not read it? Go read issue 4 and tell me this makes any fucking sense to include in a comic book, a visual medium. UHH, ALAN? WE CAN'T HEAR THE MUSIC YOU RETARD
>he doesn't know Robert E. Howard's Battletoads graphic novel when he sees it Surely you jest.
Chase Sullivan
>Robert E. Howard's Battletoads I'd like to read this.
Lucas Gonzalez
alan moore's iconic spider-man run is not for the faint of heart or musically deaf
Wyatt Smith
I wonder if he'd actually have written one if he was asked to.
Brayden Cox
The seminal Lifield take on the musical cabaret genre.
Chase Richardson
Ah, the one where David Cage came in as a guest writer?
Angel White
No. He got battle shorts I ordered the Superman exile and Dc One Million omnis this morning.
Elijah Ortiz
Kamandi
Owen Watson
Yes
Jaxon Smith
>Spider-man Spider-man blue is a classic and probably one of my favorite comics ever, JMS run is quite good at the beginning, then Sins of the Past and Civil War kick in and it goes downhill, Brand New Day has some fun stuff and some really shitty arcs but is overall ok, a bit of a controversial opinion but Dan Slott before Superior Spider-man was mostly ok, except ends of the Earth, that was bad, as for older stuff Lee - Ditko is a must read and continuing with Romita and Gerry Conway is optional but highly recommended, I also do like David Micheline.
>Punisher Punisher War Journal is fun, I also quite liked Fraction and Remender runs but they are a bit silly so the best bet is to go for Ennis Punisher and if you like that read Fury Max because is awesome.
Not that user but in general Panini does an ok job, it still has some mistakes like the occasional missing letter but not on Televisa level
canadian retail in general is hurting if you like physical media. Fewer and fewer production houses are releasing stuff on blu-ray these days. Specifically Elevation Pictures, a distributor who often gets independent/award bait movies. They used to barely put out physical media, but have stopped entirely now, meaning fuck you if you want to buy physical media
Jordan Martinez
Huh? Alan moore’s run on Epic Fail Guy is famous
Oliver Thomas
Didn't Major Bummer have a crossover with a few DC characters? How's that handled in the Dark Horse book?
Alexander Green
comfy with excellent art
Noah Phillips
Just saw this announced. Titan put out a lot of iffy licensed game comics, but this one's a real surprise
I can't remember if I actually finished the series, but I don't recall any DC characters actually appearing in it. Which makes it much easier to reprint compared to something like Sovereign Seven
Logan Lewis
Woah. This will depend heavily on art, but pretty cool they're bothering.
Sebastian Smith
It's being drawn by one of the co-creators (and voice of Dan) who's done comics before, and written by the other co-creator
Major Bummer was pretty much self contained, no crossovers that I'm aware of.
Nathaniel Gutierrez
Oh shit, I didn't recognize Wilson's name at first. Fuck yeah, dude.
Lucas Evans
I never read it because I'm still contemplating which edition to buy but fuck's sake, you're on Yea Forums and don't recognise that shitty mask?
Anthony Murphy
>you're on Yea Forums
Grayson Jenkins
How is Hickman's Fantastic Four run?
I've been holding on the omnibus for a couple years now because its price is outrageous, but they just released a Complete Collection version that finally dropped in price today. Volume 2 comes out next month, is this run good?
80% of current Yea Forums users joined the site after 2014. They probably don’t know who advice dog, boxxy, habo hotel or any of that shit is. What meme survived this long other than Pepe?
Thomas Hughes
Pretty bad. No one besides Reed and Doom actually does anything and the finale is just an older Franklin tussling with a few Celestials while the rest of the characters just look on. The emotional core is also garbage as said finale is supposedly the byproduct of Reed being a good dad to Franklin, but they barely interact in the entire run.
Daniel Watson
Spoilers bro
Andrew Collins
I actually had to look up habbo hotel. Fuck, that was long ago >not mentioning GIRUGAMESH damn son! Gotta say though that I find it highly amusing how many pussies are on these boards. Also, it's funny to see that Yea Forums has evolved into fag central while 10 years ago, it was literally full of CP
Camden Howard
Ya so many boards have been created over the years that Yea Forums truly doesn’t serve any purpose anymore.
Robert Hughes
>discover terry moore >check out Strangers in Paradise. it's great >check out Echo. eh, not my cuppa tea >check out Rachel Rising. it's great >only Echo is in print fuck.
Caleb Scott
I honestly think Echo was a piece of shit, but some people love it. I don't understand how, because it didn't really have an ending. It's thirty issue long, and all the big revelations happen in the last three issues, so it leads to a very rushed conclusion. So rushed in fact, that Terry Moore's finishing it up right now with that "Five Years" story
Jeremiah Bailey
Yeah I just had to put it down after 6 issues. Person sees/acquires something they weren't supposed to and they're chased down by the government is such a tired trope for me.
Grayson Harris
Mexianons, Amazon mx has discounts on Panini stuff, you can get Judas by Jeff Loveness for $90 pesos in HC, the first Conan HCs for $180 each or Blacksad for $265, there's also mangas but nothing caught my eye.

Forget that, what about DONATE OR DIE or BRING BACK SNACKS or even Cracky-chan? Now that's some oldest of the old
Nathaniel Cook
Have they shown what the Swamp Thing recolor looks like yet?
Connor Parker
Thanks hermano

Carson Flores
Shit you're older than me. I started in 2007 and don't know what any of that is.
Jonathan Harris
>DONATE OR DIE
Moot tried having a few fundraisers back in the day to keep the servers running. Yea Forums responded by having the female users post tits with that slogan to get people to donate
>BRING BACK SNACKS
One of the first mods was a guy called W.T. Snacks. He was fired for murky reasons and it lead to people spamming that in Yea Forums. Probably part of the reason why Mootykins adopted his 'all mods/janitors aren't allowed to reveal themselves' policy.
>Cracky-chan
The original Queen of Yea Forums. Posted pics of herself with cat ears and a red dot on her nose.

Thanks for the history lesson old timer. I feel like a newfag all of a sudden lol.
Trust me, I'm fairly certain I have images on my PC older than most of the users here.
Carter Smith
Oh 100%. I was 13 when I started on Yea Forums. I doubt that's unique to me. We're probably arguing with 13 year olds throughout the day and not even realizing it.
Mason Ross
>tfw been here since 2008 >literally more than a decade of my life spent here >RutgerHauerBladeRunnerMonologue.avi
Nah, Yea Forums, Yea Forums, Yea Forums and /h/ mostly. I took a looooong hiatus from Yea Forums as a whole when there was this rash of fucks making threads, deleting them, then saying it was the mods doing it. Made the whole fucking board unreadable.
Jack Campbell
>Yea Forums That is 4channel, sir. And I will have you use the full name for this North Korean Pigeon Station.
Carson Gomez
I hope you fucks are joking.
Landon Jackson
>2008 Me too. It was my refuge in grad school. Why am I still here?
Andrew Anderson
New books. Getting into Paul Pope after reading his segment in Solo. Shit is cash.
I'm packing up my collection for moving and I'm getting pretty pissed at you fuckers for convincing me to buy so much shit.
David Barnes
Yeah, but think about how much more space you're going to have for shelves when you get there.
Jaxson Anderson
I've already got plans. I sure hope this house is big enough for the rest of my life, because I don't think I can move after doubling or tripling my collection again.
Jose Cruz
get rid of some books to buy better books
Aaron Williams
Anyone else excited for this collection to come out? I'm hoping it's similar in style/quality like the Animal Man one they put out recently.
Heck ya. I went and read that series when the HC was announced, and because I think Booster is a good character, and it's actually great. Hopefully a second HC comes out to finish the run.
Leo Foster
Hopefully it comes out at all.
Chase Sanders
Yeah I didn't know what to expect from his first series and everyone always talks about JLI and Blue and Gold as the best BG stuff, but this series is actually really good.
Aaron Barnes
Very nice my bro, I was able to get a doodle and signature from M. Sakai himself of vol. 1. Consider myself very lucky.
David Myers
Frame that shit. Take that Pic. Post that bitch.
Jack Jackson
I really don't know if I can faithfully recommend this, but there's a book by this (communist) guy Ales Kot called Zero. I briefly checked out the first issue and skimmed some of the rest of the series, and it reminded me of something like mgs. Really I just dug the covers and tom muller's design work on them. Also check out Who/Where Is Jake Ellis?
Noah Martin
Thump
Jaxon Robinson
Seconding Jake Ellis, really good stuff
Lucas Brooks
There's a comic about Houdini? Sounds relevant to my interests, is it good?
Lucas Thompson
It is in one of the omnibuses I think. It's at least something.
Kevin Bailey
Just looked it up, Midnight Circus is in the Complete Short Stories tpb.
David Allen
both look rad thanks
Chase Jackson
Its okay. Its very brief (less than 100 pages) but Jason Lutes is great with historical stuff (wish he drew it too but the art is fine). I think its meant to be the first in a trilogy which if its like Berlin wont be done for a decade.
Wyatt Lopez
>la sonrisa del vampiro why the fuck is no one releasing maruo in english

holy shit yes but i dont know what animal man book your talking about
Jackson Morris
Does anyone else here save images of people's shelves? I just appreciate looking at other's collections. Like this guy for example. If you're in here, have you made any new binds?
Right here. I call it 'shelf porn'. Or 'shelfspiration'. I only have room in my living room for one book case (I have three total: one for books/comics/manga, one for DVDs and one for games), but I'm hopefully moving in the next 8 months or so and I have a lot of shelves planned for my new place. At least two each for books, games and movies (and another one or two for blurays).
Ryan Lee
that man is a fucking GOD some of Claremont's best work there user. Also, Alan Davis is amazing
Connor Jenkins
>Ales Kot that guy is SO much up his own ass that I love it. I don't think anyone should buy Material but you should certainly read it cause oh god is it something. It really has no point other than for him to just drop citations at every point he can and most of the citations are really pointless to what is going on in the story too, just stuff he thought of along the way. I enjoy it in a study of what NOT to do when writing.
I'm a guy who pirates the first few issues, and if I like what I'm reading, I'll get the TPB or complete series. Though some of the books on my, "Buy the complete series when I can" are, >Thunderbolts >Lee/Ditko Spider-Man omnibus >Waid's Fantastic 4 >Kingdom Come And I enjoyed Vol 1 of the Ms. Marvel, so I'm looking to get the next two volumes of that....
That's Vol. 1 of the "Ms. Marvel Years" user. You know, Brian Reed's run. You know, the run where she was an actual character?
Nolan Ward
Does Yea Forums have these kind of threads?
Juan Long
Once in a blue moon, I've seen maybe three in all over the past two years.
Lucas Collins
What's the best way to read Ultimate X-Men? The original trades or the Ultimate Collection compilations?
Gavin Anderson
>That's Vol. 1 of the "Ms. Marvel Years" user. You know, Brian Reed's run. You know, the run where she was an actual character? I know, I like that run. Been wanting to grab it.
You'll need both as the Ultimate Collection series died off around the release of the first Kirkman run volume.
Also, the Ultimate Collection is the only way to read Ultimate X-Men 1/2 (which explains what the fuck happened to Magneto when Xavier faked his death) as the original TPBs skipped it.
Also, the Ultimate Collection series fixes continuity in two major spots that were screwed up in the original TPBs: the Gambit two parter is in it's rightful place (right before World Tour, not after World Tour) and properly inserts Ultimate War where it is supposed to be (several issues into Return of the King), whereas the original trade series sticks it immediately after Volume 4, which causes reading Ultimate War before Return of the King, to spoil Wolverine's betrayal of Cyclops in that TPB.
Daniel Baker
Well /shelf/ I ended up reading Blackest Night, Brightest Day, 52, and Court of Owls. Blackest Night and 52? Both good. Brightest Day and Court of Owls? Not good, though I liked the idea of CoO and the Talons. Luckily my Conan omnis came in, so I can read those for a while before I go back to my war comics.
That's a nice shelf. But no way would I ever save images of other peoples collections. Feels a bit weird to me.
Thomas Parker
Post them.
Aaron Howard
Sent in some books to Houchen a month or so back, just sent in my custom covers and I am excited as fuck.
If you like superheroes in space you should read silver age DC, especially Legion of Super-Heroes and Superman family stuff
Josiah Jenkins
Redpill me on custom bindings, how expensive is it?
Logan Hernandez
Nice, I'm guessing that you'll be adding JLE to it? Shame that Jones has ensured that DC is memory-holing it
Jaxon Cruz
oh ive got the omni already
Nicholas Myers
If you pay extra close attention to the instructions, not too expensive. Houchen charges $5 for reprinting fees if you don't do it just right, but they also take a 3 book minimum at a time, so if you fuck up all 3 of your covers there's $15 extra right there.
But on average, if you do it right the first time, I typically pay about $20 to ship the issues to the bindery, $25ish per book, then another $20 for them to be shipped back to me.
Eventually I'll bind ALL of the JLI related books, for example I've got Wein's Blue Beetle, Booster Gold vol 1, Guy Gardner's solo, and Guy Gardner: Warrior all bound. The JLI Minis is just collecting the Martian Manhunter mini, the Power Girl mini, the Elongated mini, the Metamorpho mini, Shazam!: New Beginning, and the 3 Justice League International issues of Secret Origins.
Also on the way is DC/Marvel's All Access and Unlimited Access. Not really a big fan of the book itself, but it'll obviously never be reprinted and I thought it would be a cool addition to my shelves.
The moment we first clicked on Yea Forums is when we signed our souls up forever until the site inevitably shutters one day
Once in a blue moon. They have /buy/fag threads daily, but it's nothing but pathetic waifu statues and other degenerate shit. If you post a manga they'll either ignore it or tell you to fuck off, sad cunts
Noah Brown
that's perfect for the series
Eli Davis
Just got this out of the box, what do you guys think about it? Personally I think it’s better than Kingdom come
I saw this on the cool comic art twitter today. Also curious how it is
Andrew Phillips
It's a comic with Alex Ross interiors, making it a very, very rare thing.
Hudson Jenkins
It's fucking criminal how many of the Marvel GNs are uncollected. I'd buy a Marvel GN omnibus in a damn heartbeat. They always had great art
Oliver Rivera
It looks interesting and the premise is weird for a Spider-Man story (feels like it should be a Doctor Strange story) but the art is just great and it gives me a European comic vibe. It's something different so it's making me want to read it at least.
Also how many GNs did Marvel make in the 80's and why aren't they as popular as DC's?
Parker Diaz
Forgot the image, biggest res I could find of it. Bitches love Spidey and Peter recognizing that the guilt wouldn't let him enjoy himself already made me like this.
DC's "graphic novels" aren't actually graphic novels. They're trade paperbacks. A graphic novel is released all at once . Stuff like Watchmen, V for Vendetta, Dark Knight, were all serialized.
Charles Allen
what shonen manga is this?
Jonathan Parker
What? Dreadstar was published by Marvel at one point? I am surprised they let Starlin keep the rights.
Lincoln Collins
Marvel's Epic imprint was pretty ahead of its time. They also had Epic Illustrated magazine which was basically their answer to Heavy Metal
DC wasn't really putting out stuff like Marvel's "Graphic Novel" line in the 1980s. Those Marvel Graphic Novels were OGN's at the time. DC put out a few, but they weren't well recieved, and the most popular one is definitely Kirby's "The Hunger Dogs," aka his end to the Fourth World saga.
Dreadstar started at Marvel's Epic Comics line. Epic Comics was mostly creator owned, which was excellent at the time, but it also led to them not really promoting stuff as much because they didn't own the rights to it. Many of their Graphic Novels were creator owned, and some, like Elaine Lee's Starstruck, were just reprinted by them, so they don't have the rights to the stories.
Cooper Gonzalez
Anyone else picking up Marvel 1000? I simply have to have this cover. Just take a gander
>all those meme >Greg Land I don't know how I feel about this...
Ethan Nelson
Ha, that version still has DC's Alan Scott and his fiance above Spider-Woman on the middle-right side
Charles Barnes
You talking about the gay dudes kissing? I'm pretty sure that's from some X-men wedding thing unless you were making a joke about alan scott being turned gay, then I am dummy
William Ortiz
Northstar's wedding, which I thought was well done. Cause unlike Iceman, Northstar was always intended to be gay, even before they were allowed to have him gay in comics.
Ayden Gomez
Yeah, hopefully my LCS has some of the good covers.
That's literally taken from a page of Earth 2 issue #2. Apparently it was supposed to be a panel from Young Avengers of Wiccan and Hulkling kissing, but the collage maker fucked up
Yeah when I was at the LCS today I had them bring up all the covers so I could see them. Here's another that I think is really good (Greg Smallwood). Love those colors. Holy shit that's hilarious. I wonder if it'll still look like that when the it's printed. If so that's a fantastic Easter Egg
>two copies of HxH #1 >only the first 6 of FMA what gives
Dylan Jackson
Bought myself volume 1 and someone bought it for me as a gift before they knew I got it. And yes, I wish I had the complete FMA.
Owen Bennett
>And yes, I wish I had the complete FMA. eh, popular manga never goes OOP so it'll be there when you get to it. man do I love FMA. it's been a while since I read but when I finished I remember thinking that was the best comic I ever read
Also, in regards to the pic. Is there a mod/janny in here? Any fucking reason you just warned me for a bump I did in here on FRIDAY? You that bored?
Is it worth sticking with? I've tried reading it and watching the animu but it never hooked me. I don't really like steampunk so maybe that's why.
Jacob Williams
I mean if you already tried it and didn't like it, it just may not be for you. No one likes everything
You could always try it again in a few years. It's crazy how many comics I wrote off at first then came back to years later when my sensibilities changes and ended up loving it.
Brayden Hughes
Was it the original or Brotherhood you tried watching? Because they're very different shows. If it was just one, try the other. If it was both, don't force yourself to get into it, but definitely give it a shot again down the line.
Carson Jackson
The original. It has been a really long time since I tried it, like since it was on Adult Swim. I tried the manga more recently when I read Silver Spoon and really loved it. But that was still a few years ago at this point...
Carter Barnes
I have both the silver age Legion omnis and I’ve read most of the other stuff up through Levits and Giffen. I love that stuff. I’ll check out the superman stuff for sure.
Bentley Rogers
I enjoy it as a lead in to Kingdom Come, to help more casual fans identify characters in the latter more easily especially Billy
Kevin Nelson
Well I couldn't pass on that, so I got the 2 Conan HCs and the second Flintstones trade.
Gabriel Thompson
bump
Connor Carter
>Conan omnis >war comics My future brother. I've got all of the so far released Marvel Conan stuff coming tomorrow, and recently picked up Blazing Combat. Care to recommend more war comics? I want to pick up the DC war-related Showcases/Archives, and I've seen some EC Archives of war comics, but I don't know anything else.
Daniel Nelson
Enemy Ace was fantastic. I found a copy at a used bookstore for $10 CAD, so I have no clue how much the old Showcase is though. Enemy Ace: War Idyll is a fantastic OGN, but is very OOP. There's a "DC Goes to War" hardcover fished in a catalogue, but I'm not sure how good that stuff its/if it will actually come out
>Collects Sgt. Rock Special #2, Enemy Ace: War in Heaven #1, Enemy Ace: War in Heaven #2, Showcase #57, Our Army at War #67, Our Army at War #83, Our Army at War #233, Our Army at War #235, Boy Commandos #1, Star Spangled War Stories #87, Star Spangled War Stories #183, All-American Comics #48, Weird War Tales #3, G.I. Combat #87, Our Fighting Forces #49, Our Fighting Forces #102, The Losers Special #1, Military Comics #1 I'm not sure if that Ennis AE:WiH is a thing people like or not
Josiah Brown
>$58 for DC One Million I think I paid 30ish for it a few years ago from a book liquidator. First Onmi I'd bought, I thought it was massive when I got it. It looks a lot more modest next to the Fourth World and Final Crisis omnis.
Parker Gomez
>it was supposed to be a panel from Young Avengers of Wiccan and Hulkling kissing, but the collage maker fucked up How do you make that mistake? I can understand if it was Wiccan kissing some other dude, but how do you pull from a DC book?
Daniel Reyes
By being lazy and using google images.
Adam Lopez
Yeah just the shorts and both hands are fists
Easton Thomas
I got a few issues today I was looking for, and some nice surprises while rifling through boxes >Deathstroke #6: First appearance of The Red Lion >Justice League #50 Where Jessica Cruz becomes a Green Lantern >Web of Spider-Man #100 First appearance of Spider-Armor costume >Penguin Pain and Prejudice #1 (favorite story of mine) Stuff coming in the mail >Zatanna #15 pic related cover by Adam Hughes >Superman Adventures #5 First comic appearance of Livewire
Also found Aaron's Jane Thor 1#-4 in a bundle for 5 bucks. Will probably sell those at my LCS along with some other stuff I've been meaning to get rid of. Buddy also gave me Damage #2-16 for the hell of it.
So, I'm thinking of getting a secret wars 2015 trade, it was the first comic I read that I followed weekly. How's the softcover vs harodcver? Also, should I get his avengers/ new avengers trades first? >>Most expensive thing in my collection I got a Dc one million omnibus on sale for $49.99, not bad
James Morgan
I'd say Creature Commandos, Enemy Ace, The War that Time Forgot (soldiers vs. dinosaurs) are all solid war comics to pick up. Sgt. Rock is also decent, it's the DC equivalent of Nick Fury's Howling Commandos (another good pick). Marvel also had a war comic called The 'Nam which covered stories set in the Vietnam War. I am impressed by the Conan omnis, the coloring is a lot better than I expected. I actually expected the colors to be more vibrant than they ended up being on some of the pages.
I've checked out DC Goes to War, and I found a 1979 tpb called America at War which contains several of the same stories. I personally don't like Ennis as a writer, but WiH could be good, I'd say to look at the first few pages and see how things are going. Here are the titles that are in both America at War and DC Goes in War: >Military Comics #1 "The Origin of Blackhawk" >All-American Comics #48 "Experimental Mission" >Our Army at War #83 "The Rock and the Wall!" >Our Fighting Forces #49 "Blind Gunner!" >Star-Spangled War Stories #87 "T.N.T. Spotlight" >G.I. Combat #87 "Introducing -- the Haunted Tank" >Showcase #57 "Killer of the Skies!" >Our Fighting Forces #102 "Cold Steel for a Hot War!" >Our Army at War #233 "Head-Count!" >Our Army at War #235 "Kamikaze" >Star-Spangled War Stories #183 "8,000 to One"
Owen Wood
Does Sakai go to cons or anything?
Noah Allen
Forgot to answer my question. Probably my ASM 13, 121, and 122 signed by Stan Lee and graded.
>Forgot to answer my question Answer the thread question*
Logan Martin
>slabs ugh. unless it's a 100k issue, or you plan on selling it, I just don't see the point.
Austin Torres
I mean, this was sent into Desert Winds back in 2014 when they let you send books in to get Stan Lee to sign them and CGCd. I don't mind them being slabbed, since I never intended to read the actual floppies and it's nice to know the signature is officially verified if anyone questions it.
Charles Hall
Not him but I'd slab the Mysterio first appearance given what it is, and the fact that it's signed. The grading is already low, and it will help prevent further damage. Any more handling and it's likely to fall apart completely.
Luke Hill
>since I never intended to read the actual floppies Why not? Action Comics #1? Sure, not touching that. Detective 27? Sure, not touching that.
But those? Why wouldn't you read them?
Jack Flores
I don't read any floppies, because they're all expensive and need to be kept in the packaging
Adrian Stewart
That one on the left is literally the first appearance of Mysterio, and one of the first 20 issues of The Amazing Spider-Man. Why the hell would he leisurely handle it without proper care?
Jaxon Roberts
It's nice to read those comics on their original paper Where did I say he should handle it like a barbarian? We're all comic fans here, we all treat our stuff with the utmost respect.
Jackson Rodriguez
>The grading is already low Even at a 3.0, when I bought it in 2014, it was $200. I'm sure even at a 3.0 now, it's worth a lot more.
Carter Allen
IIRC the manga and original anime diverge pretty radically after a certain point. Brotherhood was a pretty faithful anime version of the manga.
I like FMA a lot. Don't have the original manga anymore, so I've been buying the hardcover collector's editions were are really nice.
Robert Thomas
We're talking about a piece of meant to be disposable reading printed in 19 fucking 64. I don't think anyone with a brain would want to risk further damage to it. But I'm not the guy who owns it so whatever. Personally if I want to read something that old/key, I'll do it online, and display the issue
Alexander Nguyen
>I don't think anyone with a brain would want to risk further damage to it If you had a brain you could read it without damaging it. You're talking to me like I've never read a silver age floppy before. And you're talking about it like it's a piece of ancient Egyptian papyrus. Whatever, we don't agree, and that's that.
Luis Perez
I'm all for reading floppies and the joy of physical reading experiences, I just think you're being silly fingering up your silver age stuff like that. There are natural skin oils on your hands
Luke Cruz
Shit, put on a pair of latex gloves then if you're so afraid. These things aren't as delicate as you think
Jacob Cook
I read all mine user (Thor 120-160 with a few holes), but I gotta say the omni reprints look pretty good too.
Landon Long
What are some essential /shelf/ /toy/s?
Zachary Sanchez
Nice. Yeah the omni looks great, but there's something very cool about reading the original issue with the original paper, knowing it was in some kid's hand and he bought it off the rack way back. Reading something that at the time wasn't a big deal but later became a big deal. It's an awesome experience reading an old comic. Putting it behind glass is silly to me (unless you're trying to sell it, then you should because it increases the value.) But if you're not going to sell it, read the damn thing. It's magical. If you just want to display the cover you can still do that! Bag and board, wowee zowee.
Camden Price
These arrived while I was at work, I've read some of Roy Thomas Conan and a bit of Savage Sword but now I'm committed to it.
Austin Phillips
I know they put out the True Believer's Eternals #1 for synergy, which I already picked up, but is Marvel gonna reprint the whole saga?
>but is Marvel gonna reprint the whole saga? I would be stunned if they didn't. Movies invariably precipitate reprints, and there is so little Eternals material to be reprinted. It'll be an epic/complete collection of just a reprint of the omnibus.
Brayden Morgan
Good stuff. IMO Roy Thomas Conan is the best comic of the 70s
Jonathan Torres
I was never a big fan of Conan, I liked the Schwarzenegger movie and read some issues because I love Windsor Smith art but reading into the story behind the comics and the books I think it is quite cool.
>Putting it behind glass is silly to me (unless you're trying to sell it, What's wrong with wanting to preserve something so that it doesn't keep declining in quality?
Luis Davis
A bag and board will do the job. But let's pretend it doesn't; preserve it for what? Are you going to sell it? Then of course you slab it, because that increases it's value. But if you aren't going to sell it, or read it, what was the point? It's like buying a sportscar but keeping it under a tarp in the garage all the time. And I actually know people who do that, it's maddening.
The great irony of this of course is that the person who graded the comic probably read it himself as he was flipping through.
Jaxson Sanders
Finally read it, it was pretty fucking good. The art and paneling was amazing
Brayden Stewart
I already own the manga in the 3-in-1 editions but I kind of feel like I should upgrade to those hardcovers.
Julian Wilson
Got any bionicle?
Jace Gray
based Australian poster
Angel Ross
Drug dealer, no doubt.
Samuel Nelson
Anything Yea Forums related.
Carter Baker
What do you think would look good on a shelf?
That's an essential toy. I've got Gundams next to Transformers next to Evangelions. I've got a Transformers Millennium Falcon sitting next to a Cacodemon from Doom. I've got an X-23 statue sitting next to a Resident Evil 4 chainsaw controller. If it makes to happy when you look at it, it's all good, baby!
Daniel Collins
21st century boys really went to shit after the time jump. The whole simulation thing makes zero sense. That manga had great potential but it turned to shit hard and fast
Gabriel Murphy
If someone considers 20th Century Boys "shit" there's probably not too many comics in the whole world that they actually do like.
Isaiah Rogers
I've read the whole thing twice and I dont even remember which kid ended up being Amigo - that's how poorly written the ending was
Julian Phillips
Only problem I had with it was that it had a habit of characters disappearing for 70-odd chapters, then coming back with no reintroduction. Made a few scenes more confusing than they should be.
Asher Martinez
oh that's good news. when it came out it was a little too expensive for me and then it got sold out. i'm hoping for more horror/erotic stuff tho, panorama is pretty tame.
Agent of Asgard is getting that complete collection release this year, nice of you to remind me of that.
Jaxson Wilson
oh, get over it
Gavin Anderson
Are you planning on upgrading your copy of Thor & Loki Blood Brothers? The gallery edition looks fine.
Ryder Harris
might wanna learn how to focus your camera
Evan Torres
Want to get cheap comics in Canada? Try kijiji, it's hit and miss depending on your location, but overall, it's the best online prices.
Christopher Taylor
It lacks Thor & Loki, but besides some panels and the "I love you, my children" bit from Odin is not that big a loss.
Maybe. This one is certainly banged up, but it has Ribic's signature. At least I would like to check the new edition first.
Trust me I hate these photos as much as you do, but that one was the best outta bunch
Dylan Morales
fucking retards
Elijah Ward
Some comics I had sitting around to I finally got around to shelving. I am waiting until I complete my master plan before I post new pics though.
Isaiah Johnson
Should you sell this now, or wait closer to the movie release? I don't know how speculator market works
Josiah Baker
First I've heard of that war collection, the War In Heaven inclusions seem a bit out-of-place given their modernity? Not bad stories, but seems odd in a mostly silver-age anthology
DC and Marvel's album-format 'Graphic Novels' are like crack to me, so much good (and often never reprinted) stuff if you go digging. There's an entire line of DC ones that were just comic adaptations of classic SF novellas that have been lost to time, as well as a JLGL fully painted GN called Star Raiders that's set in the same universe as Atari Force
fuck, I am still trying to sell my Justice TPB to get this. I don't want to have the same book twice so I really hope I'll sell the paperback in the next few weeks
Ryder Turner
He goes to SDCC every year. Has his own booth. Not sure about other cons but id imagine so
Mason Stewart
Anyone have experience selling bits of their collection? Im moving apts and figured it was time to cut some of the fat. I got alot of stuff that i just bought on a whim and while i enjoyed it i have no particular emotional attachment to it.
Samuel Gomez
>tfw have a first print of kamalas first issue how much will this fetch me when shes in the mcu
Julian James
I only sell trades and HCs but no floppies yet. When it comes to random floppies, you can consider yourself lucky if people pay you a dollar per piece
Hudson Wilson
My LCS buys everything at current values on a base 6.0 grading.
Joshua Gutierrez
If you have good lots like issues 1-6 you can do okay. or if you have a lot by a particular author you can sell a lot like that. Put the big stuff in the title and the small stuff in the description if on ebay. If you have just weird loose issues you can also theme them like a sci fi lot or an image comics lot but you'll wanna make those cheap if you want them to sell. Some stuff sells instantly some will take months so be patient.
Juan Cook
US anons if you are willing to take the risk of Amazon shipping you can get the HC of The Bridge by Peter Tomasi for 6 dollars.
Asher Walker
nah its mostly hc and trades. I only follow a few ongoing titles and yeah i realize they are mostly worthless
Michael Ortiz
this is the first jane foster as thor. the one they ripped the entire shit off from
Could still do lots. Like a batman tpb lot or something
Ayden Price
If you follow his Twitter, he posts where he's going. Stan visits quite a few countries each year.
Liam Bell
For the DC war-related titles then listen to you can't go wrong with either Enemy Ace or Sgt. Rock. There's also the more modern Enemy Ace: War Idyll tpb. As for EC, both Two-Fisted Tales and Frontline Combat are collected in their Archive editions. A sleeper choice is Showcase's Haunted Tank after seeing it on Paul Pope's shelf youtube.com/watch?v=o4Hda2UOJkU around the 00:12 second you can see it along with DC Archive Sgt. Rock volume 3.
Would recommend The 'Nam. I don't know if it has be collected yet, I happened to read it on a story time thread on Yea Forums right before I meant Michael Golden at a con. It was surreal timing of happenstance and he was a great guy to talk to.
>but reading into the story behind the comics and the books I think it is quite cool. What did you read? I love reading behind the scene stuff too. What do you recommend?
I first got interested after reading Marvel The Untold story and then I saw this documentary and got interested in Robert E. Howard. youtu.be/5N5yVgpK9Ew
Michael King
Also I read some articles like this, but they are in Spanish
Jaxson White
I can understand Spanish. Were they also about Conan?
Bentley Gonzalez
>buy book >immediately storytime it on Yea Forums does anyone else do this?
Luis Murphy
Different user here, adding onto what this guy said, but there are non-American war comics you can find. The Brits have one called Commando for Action and Adventure (or just Commando) which has a lot of tpbs you can buy on Amazon. PS Artbooks is also going to be releasing a collection of Atomic War! a comic which ran in the 50s and showed what a Cold War gone hot would look like. Plenty of war stuff and destruction porn in that.
These are really pleasing to the eye. Especially that colorful Tezuka shelf.
Julian Perry
Thank you user. Both links were great reads.
Caleb Russell
This is going to be a bleeding cool post
Jose Perry
>The 'Nam
Great comic but criminally never collected fully. They reprinted maybe the first 1/4 of it in three volumes (which is probably the best stuff anyway) but there's like 50 damn issues floating in the ether
The first 20 issues also got reprinted in glorious B&W magazine format too, which IMO is superior and lets Golden's art truly breathe
It just came out didn't it? What are the odds that it'll go up in price

I wasn't fond of that sequel, it adds nothing to the story but I don't think it's bad.
Adam Young
Is this sad?
Blake Gutierrez
I've heard the ending isnt very happy haven't read them myself though
Aaron Barnes
Duggan's Savage Sword was really bad imo
Caleb Lopez
That kinda sucks to hear. I liked the issues that got story timed here.
Parker Nelson
Hey, it's just my opinion. if you like it you like it
Caleb Turner
Todays haul. Some nice Pantha titties. Old Swamp Thing (think i will have to go back for trades 5 and 6 that he has). And some Terry Dodson X-Waifus. And sadly some Land...i hate him but i like Gillens X-Men stuff
I have 1-3. I like those volumes varyingly. There's something really magical about the first one, in my opinion. That seems to follow the theme of him growing up, with that youngest volume being the most sugary.
Liam Foster
Do you plan on finishing the series? I've been meaning to start it by purchasing the first one
Chase Perez
>HM nice. wonder if softwood is ever coming out
Grayson Nelson
nice
Evan Long
Should I read dark knight 3? I read and enjoyed the dark knight returns and I had to quit dk2 because it was horrendous. I'm assuming dk3 isnt as bad as dk2 but not as good as returns
Noah Peterson
3 is actually good. Not great, but good.
Jeremiah Hill
I finally gave in and ended up buying 2 of those plastic storage boxes for comics and just spent that last hour organizing my floppies. I organized by going Mignolaverse alphabetically because that's what I collect the most and then everything else alphabetically. It was fun.
I wasn't sold on Gideon falls, which is weird because I am a massive Lemire stan. I dropped it around issue 13 or so. the art was pretty but the story was going nowhere and wasn't enough to compel me. Maybe I'll go back and re-try it when it's finished
Elijah Hernandez
I've never read it and I'm on a bit of a horror kick rn and wanted to check it out
Carson Evans
you'll probably like it, it's very acclaimed. I just couldn't into it for whatever reason the artwork is admittedly fantastic. some of the two page spreads Sorrentino does are just ridiculous
Joshua Gray
Yes, I'll finish it. I'm just spread really thin on series to collect. It's been a very enjoyable story so far, and I'm looking forward to Asano's other work.
Mason Flores
Another thread, another bump limit. See you guys around
When you start you will be totally lost. Don't worry, it comes together as it goes on. Always remember the opening words (that Gillen admitted ripping off for the Wicked + The Divine)
