What voices you hear when you read a comic book?
Whenever I read a Wolverine comic, I ”hear” an amalgam of Cathal J Dodd, Scott McNeil, and Steve Blum

I'll always hear Norm Spencer's voice in my head. In the case of Teen Cyclops, it's Kirby Morrow.

Attached: JAN110802._SX360_QL80_TTD_.jpg (360x545, 51K)

Christopher Daniel Barnes dominates as the Spider-Man voice when I read a Spider-Man comic.

Attached: 712988._SX1280_QL80_TTD_.jpg (1280x1969, 645K)

It's either Robert Hays or Eric Loomis.

Cree Summer will always be the definitive She-Hulk voice when I read comics but I had to Tress MacNeille's voice for Aaron's take on her.

Attached: she-hulk-1.jpg (1400x700, 219K)

Fred Tatascoire with some Lou Ferrigno

Attached: immortal-hulk.jpg (1400x700, 335K)

Batman is Kevin Conroy and Joker is Mark Hammil, ofc.

The 90s cartoons cast for X-men and Spider-man. EMH for the Avengers and the rest, mainly Doom. DCAU for DC.

Understandable. When I read Darkseid in a comic I either hear Frank Welker or Michael Ironside

Catherine Disher or Jennifer Hale (adult) and Venus Terzo (teen)

George Buza's voice wins out whenever I see Beast in comic form

Attached: AllNewX-Men10-beast.png (210x225, 87K)

As does the late John Colicos

And the late Chuck McCann

Michael Rooker and i have no idea why

Depending on which Wolverine:

Ultimate - Steve Blum in his Spike voice

616 - Mixture of Blum and Cathal Dodd

Old Man - Scott McNiel

For a while it was Josh Keaton, but now I can't Lowenthal out of my head.

So it goes like this:

Pete - Yuri Lowenthal

SpOck - Josh Keaton

Ben - Neil Patrick Harris

Kaine - Chris Daniel Barnes

Renew Your Vows Pete - Jake Johnson

Steve Blum seems to be my default Woverine.

Even though I'm pretty sure he never voiced him, I read Wolverine with David Hayter's Snake voice.
I read Colossus as sounding like this guy I know in real life, and I read Kitty and Storm with their X-Men Evolution voices even though Kitty's entirely different in that. I read Magneto and Xavier as Ian McKellen and Patrick Stewart of course. And Magik is Vanessa Marshall with a shitty Russian accent. Rogue switches between 90s cartoon to Evolution voices for me, and Mystique is the female Dunmer voice from Elder Scrolls. Beast is Jet from Cowboy Bebop for no real reason. Rest of the X-Men I just read with basically random voices from my head... except... I think when that blonde kid who could speak languages as his power was part of New Mutants I read him with Brad from Whose Line is it Anyway's voice, of all things.

Besides X-Men I usually read Spider-Man with the 90s cartoon voice, Iron Man as Robert Downey Jr., I hear three overlapping voices when I read Galactus for some reason, and pissed off Renegade Shepard Jennifer Hale is my go-to Captain Marvel voice.

Before AoStH and SatAm, I used to used to hear the late Russi Taylor using her Widget voice for Archie Sonic

Wow

I don’t hear voices when I read dialogue, is that normal?

From September 1993 to December 2010, I'd mentally hear Jaleel White for Sonic, only using Jason Griffith's for the Sonic X comics. At the end of 2010, I switched to Roger Craig Smith's

Chris Latta still dominates in my head as Cobra Commander and Starscream.

Reading the Valiant comics always makes me hear the DiC Mario VA cast.

Attached: 61KTynHpYgL._SY445_.jpg (302x445, 54K)

Townsend Coleman

Attached: 250px-TICK_COMIC_CON_EXTRAVAGANZA_1.jpg (250x391, 60K)

Whenever I read a Hulk comic, I can't help but hear Fred Tatasciore for any of the green Hulks. But for good ol' Joe, I always read his dialogue in Frank the Pug's voice. Don't ask me why, it just fits.

And of course for Banner himself, Neal Mcdonough.

>Cree Summer will always be the definitive She-Hulk voice when I read comics

Really? Not Lisa Zane? Come on now, user.

>I had to Tress MacNeille's voice for Aaron's take on her.

That's... Oddly fitting.

all batman comics in BTAS voices

>Usagi Yojimbo
Even after hearing he has a proper voice, for some reason I hear Jei-San sounding like Christopher Lambert (in particular, his Raiden voice w/ the echo)

Jim Cummings

Ogie Banks

I hear it too

It varies
>Most of the X-men are straight TAS
>I read Morrison's Magneto as McKellen, Hickman's Magneto as TAS
>Talia and Damien had English accents
>Grayson sounds like TAS

Norm MacDonald

Luis Daniel Ramírez

...

Everybody hates chris.

Keith David for Spawn. Even when it's not Al in the costume I can't help it but hear that voice.

Spider-Man for me switches between both Christopher Daniel Barnes and Josh Keaton. Usually depends on which incarnation or era of the character though. But I do think Lowenthal is definitely replacing them for modern/current Spidey.

Wolverine for me will always be Cathal J. Dodd

I always hear the original MvC voice for Wolverine when I read him. Same for most Marvel heroes really.

???

'87 MWS voice cast.

Attached: 643325.jpg (600x936, 153K)

This. And Clancy Brown is Lex Luthor.

Back in the '90s I used to hear Tim Curry voicing Loki

Attached: 250px-Loki_Laufeyson_Earth_616.jpg (250x345, 39K)

All I ever hear is Michael Jai White. I think I wore out my copy of Spawn on VHS when I was a kid.

when i was a kid i thought spawn was played by will smith, i only learned otherwise 2 years ago

I still hear Cap's voice as his EMH voice actor.

I always imagined Ultron sounding like a Dalek from Doctor Who.

Same here. During the Adventure era, I struggled to apply Ryan Drummond to the dialogue of the comic and it just wasn't working. Jason sort of worked by the time Flynn got on the book, but otherwise you're right on the money.

Archie Sonic just doesn't sound the same without Jaleel, but it works with Roger.

Oddly enough, whenever I wasn't feeling Ryan or Jason, I'd use James Arnold Taylor because he voiced Ratchet who is already a better Sonic anyways
When I first heard Jason Griffith as Usagi in 2003, I always thought what Usagi would have sounded if the guy who voiced Kenshin Himura got a shot.

I forget, how old is Usagi supposed to be? Both 87 and 03 versions sounded like they where teenagers, but 2013 sounded like a 40 year old.

I used Petrea Buchard for Kitsune

Tabitha St.Germain

Bump

Oddly enough CD-i for Link and DiC for Zelda.

Almost everyone is either their DCAU, EMH, or MvC3 voices with weird exceptions based on era like
>60s-70s Spider-Man
Dan Gilvezan
>80s-90s Spider-Man
Christopher Daniel Barnes
>2000s Spider-Man
Josh Keaton

>Gold/Silver Age Batman
Adam West
>Modern Batman
Kevin Conroy
I read Doom Patrol as their actors voices from the show.

For DC, the 90s/2000s animated series (Batman TAS in particular) and the Arkham and Injustice games have really great voice acting. I generally just read characters as they sound in those now.

Jason Griffith

Honestly when I read Wolverine he flip flops between X men Evolution and MvC2 depending on what's happening

Lying down on top of a lady is traditional Kryptonian custom

John Malkovich and Gwyneth Paltrow

Up until Spider PS4, Josh Keaton was my modern Spider but Yuri Lowenthal knocked it out of the park so well that he's my go to now

Let’s see

Spider-Man - Christopher Daniel Barnes or Josh Keaton
Iron Man - RDJ
Hulk - Fred Tatasciore
Thor - Rick D. Wasserman
Captain America - Brian Bloom
Wolverine - Cal Dodd
Cyclops - Kirby Morrow
Mr. Fantastic- Beau Weaver
Thing - Brian Dobson
Doctor Doom - Simon Templeman
Kingpin - Roscoe Lee Browne
Thanos - Jamieson Price
Galactus - James Blendick
Moon Knight - Diedrich Bader
Doctor Strange - David Kaye (sounds more like a more mystical Optimus Prime)
Ultron - James Spader
Ant-Man - Wally Wingert
Wasp - Colleen Villard
Hawkeye - Chris Cox
Black Panther - James c. Mathis
Norman Osborn - Willem Dafoe
Green Goblin - Steve Blum
Red Skull - Steve Blum
Cable - Michael Ironside
Deadpool - Nolan North or Ryan Reynolds
Daredevil - Mark Hildreth
Nightcrawler- Liam O’Brien
Beast - George Buza
Colossus - Stefan Kapicic
Scarlet Witch - Veronica Taylor
Vision - Peter Jessop
Doc Ock - William Salyers
Venom - Daran Norris
Carnage - Richard Ian Cox
J.J.J. - JK Simmons
Silver Surfer - Rino Romano
Mr. Sinister - David Kaye (Lighter version of his Megatron)
Apocalypse - John Calicos
Magneto - Ian McKellan
Professor Xavier - alternates between Cedric Smith and Patrick Stewart

>Cable - Michael Ironside
Based

I read Magneto and Xavier as Dragoon and Red Mantle from Venture Bros. respectively. It fits so, so well.

Bump

Yes. These people are delusional.

Steve Blum's probably the definitive Wolverine voice for me, maybe with a little bit of Mark Hamill.

I have Greg Ellis in his Hermes voice

Thanks

Cable just looks a Ironside role to me.

Hamill was a underrated Wolverine

Or lying. Most just like the idea and are full of shit desu

Trevor Duvall

He’s my definitive voice for Pyro and Namor

Bumo

The 90's TAS voices for each respective character. And when said character hasn't been on screen, I just insert the voice of whatever actor might resemble him.

Michael Donovan
