Every mass shooting is, by definition, political, user.
Brayden Hill
That's not exactly true, unless you view racism as a political motivator.
Nolan Phillips
can't we just draw and quarter this el paso guy? then whatever his motivations, others with the same will think twice or maybe four times as long about it
Ayden Davis
How stupid can you get?
Brody Walker
Yes, that's why there's so many trannies here.
/leftypol/ was shut down with it.

I doubt a gang drive-by is political.

The users were okay.
The tranny moderator completely killed the board by literally banning everyone for everything.
People we're being banned for wanting to talk about a comic without storytiming the whole thing.
Matthew Reed
Is there any comic that tries to be political or take a shot at modern societal bullshit that isn't just tearing apart a straw-man?
Jaxson Miller
Stonetoss.

Fun fact: Most political comics do not have Strawman falacy. Most of the time, Straw man fallacy can only be when used against specific existing, named and identified individual.

i mean when a white guy goes on a rampage the only one cheering for him are a group of autists on the internet

lol mental illness and video games
Anthony Cook
how is mental illness an excuse? anyone who gets a gun and kills random people is mentally ill
Alexander Brooks
You have been spamming in full rage since the word was dropped. Now it's timid "n..no you", and your argument is me having to fear you laughing "at me" like an autist 80000km away from me.
Sorry but you keep confirming the point, that shit was a clear head shot.
Julian Robinson
It's not because you'r too retarded to know what words mean that they don't mean it.
Matthew Fisher
So our prisons are filled with mentally ill people that we're not treating? Funny how I never hear what's going to change to improve things for the mentally ill.
Elijah Hughes
>You just don't GET IT, I have MY definitions of things, and it WORKS.
yikes
Josiah Richardson
Write a fucking opinion column then, at a certain point it stops being a comic and becomes a fucking TOME
Asher Hernandez
>You have been spamming in full rage since the word was dropped.
You know this is an anonymous board, right?
Also, threads of replies over replies over replies is not indicative of anything, on Yea Forums. All you did was take the baseline and consider it a win.
Adrian Young
most people in prison didnt kill random people
most people in prison didnt even kill anyone at all
>prison filled with mentally ill people who we are not treating
our streets are filled with mentally ill people we are not treating
>Funny how I never hear what's going to change to improve things for the mentally ill.
and who is suppossed to help the mentally ill people? the other mentally ill people who barely have their shit together enough to be above the average self destructive idiot?
Ryan Flores

Brody Thomas
i dont think they should be a priority at all, they are fine as they are for now
Colton Murphy
>most people in prison didnt even kill anyone at all
Right, but we send most killers to prison. The idea that mental illness is something every killer has is incorrect.
Gabriel Martin
You don't become gay by being molested.
Angel Jones
Somebody should tell Stonetoss.
Kevin Rogers
You can. It's more not every gay was molested but many molested turn gay.
Blake Powell
Somehow I feel wary about trusting you on that, sourceless user.
Owen Garcia
You are so close to getting it. That mental illness line is always trotted out for white shooters, never for any other race except maybe Asians. If a black person shoots someone its presented without comment, if a white person does the same theres all this pontificating on how he was lead astray.
Nathan Jackson
>Funny how I never hear what's going to change to improve things for the mentally ill
Helping other people is socialism. They should just help themselves by working a job and earning money to pay for it.
Jayden Wood
You are born gay. Mollesting doesn't change that.
Zachary Watson
slippery slope fallacy applies to this one
Brayden Fisher
Say what you will about Stonetoss but at least his comics are straight to the point unlike this shit.
Josiah Morris
>gay
>never been molested
Checks out for me.
Nathan James
Way more complicated than that, man. Human sexuality isn't some two way street dichotomy.
Ryan Lopez
Those comics are all easy to understand and make their point, I fail to see the problem.
Juan Martinez
Gapping to traps doesn't make you gay user, it just makes you a fag
Nolan Bell
Is the implication here supposed to be that being a muslim shooter or gang shooter is somehow worse than being labeled a "lone wolf"?
Because I'd argue that at least the muslim and gang shooters are killing for a reason even if it's a stupid reason while spree killers just do it because of a profound sense of impotency.
Jaxon Barnes
Its never a sign of a larger scale problem with white shooters. All of these cases are taken individually and quickly forgotten about when the next one happens. Nothing ever changes as a result.
Joseph Diaz
>Is the implication here supposed to be that being a muslim shooter or gang shooter is somehow worse than being labeled a "lone wolf"?
No, the implication is that people are hypocrite to blame all of the Muslim for the actions of a few, when they are able to make the distinction for white people.
Zachary Ross
first of all i pointed out that most killers dont kill random people, they have targets and/or a motive for killing someone in particular
then i pointed out that murder is not the only crime that can send you to prison
then i pointed out that most people overall have mentall illess
Parker Ramirez
>then i pointed out that most people overall have mentall illess
And most people overall don't shoot up a mall or a walmart
That's funny.
Evan Nelson
i swear to god the gun debate is the only issue where the left just kinda fucks it, granted the NRA has put EXTREME EFFORT into obfuscating the issue and ruining the discussion for everyone
Luke Harris
But Muslims religion actively encourages killing people who aren’t Muslim while the lone white male shooter is killing females because of internet memes
Connor Gutierrez
if a person kills 20 people thats not the problem
sure it sucks and it may be a little cold to point it out but its just 20 people, more people die of some accidents and natural disasters
the problem is when there are thousands if not millions of people cheering for it
not because they are going to do the same, they wont. But you should stop and wonder how the fuck did we reach a point where so many people are celebrating the murder of a group of people they know nothing about
Bentley Mitchell
Dude if nothing changed after Sandy Hook I dont know what its gonna take. Like 100 kids are going to have to die for something to stick and even then its gonna be viewed by many as a false flag.
Brayden Kelly
>if a person kills 20 people thats not the problem
>more people die of some accidents and natural disasters
What a retarded argument. Those are accidents and natural disasters, and those are things people still try to prepare for and prevent.
Liam Bennett
But people don't blame all muslims for islamic terrorism they blame wahabist extremist groups and islamic terrorist organizations, if they blamed all muslims it stands to reason there would be a ton more muslims in prison than there are or laws to restrict their movements/etc.
>Its never a sign of a larger scale problem with white shooters
What planet have you been living on?
Depending on who you ask it's indicative of the collective guilt of either all white people/ all right wingers/ gun owners/ video game players/etc
It's literally everything but the work of a single individual, if the general population thought that it was we wouldn't have a massive media circlejerk every time some dickhead decides he needs an entourage when he commits suicide by cop.
The difference is that terrorists/gang members and even cops are not acting on their own behalf but some larger organization, it isn't racism as there are white terrorists, gang members and cops and there are black/arab/cop dipshit incel faggots.
Trying to force a racial attribution to the meanings of terms is pointless.
Nolan Stewart
>man kills as is justified by a major religion and supported by 70% of it's followers when asked directly
>blaming the ideology of the man is somehow racist
>guy kills other guys because they are competitors in his illegal drug business
>blaming organized crime is somehow racist
>guy kills in line of duty, often to protect lives, armed with nothing but a hair drier
>thinking that he's a person doing his job the best he can to uphold law and order is somehow fascist
>AVGN plays one too many shitty games and goes on a shooting spree with his Nintendo zapper
>calling him a lone murderous nut is somehow racist
Is the author autistic or something?
Adrian Morales

Is one third of Americans gay? If not, you're full of shit.
Michael Thompson
>then i pointed out that most people overall have mentall illess
More that more people then ever are raised without an authority figure to teach them basic things like kindness, sympathy, and most importantly respect. Being an autist who can't socialize because you were raised wrong really isn't mental illness
Hunter Smith
Just because you have the liberty to express your opinion doesn't mean everyone has to tolerate it.
Zachary Thomas
What a meaningless phrase.
Luis Cook
>anyone who gets a gun and kills random people is mentally ill
If homicidal meant mentally ill, the insanity defense would always work.
Plenty of people are just dickbag murderers.
Seriously though, people, this is Yea Forums, not /pol/, do we need to do this?
Dominic Reed
He probably isn't wrong, white supremacism isn't very common these days.
Do you think all spree killers are white supremacists or something?
Or that spree killings are even common period?
>so it isn't a real problem.
It's definitely a problem but probably not an extremely pressing one, it's like being worried about getting hit by lightning.
Oliver Cruz
Like 20% of the threads here are /pol/. You guys are worse than Yea Forums with regards to board clutter.
Logan Wright
And you're saying we do nothing to prevent gun violence? Or are you saying we don't do enough? Would you like the government to mandate having to be secured to heavy stationary objects at all times to lower the percentage of people who fall out of windows? What do you mean that would be "annoying and infringing on your personal freedom"!? Are you some sort of monster who ENJOYS it when people fall to their death!?

Easton Long
The phrase isn't meaningless. He's explaining that an inherent right to freedom speech and expression (as in free from government intervention) does not provide anyone the right to express their views on any private platform however unwanted without consequence (or in other words, nobody has to put up with your bullshit, tolerate you)
As an example, I probably couldn't paint your garage without your permission and if you gave me permission to paint your garage once, that doesn't mean you can never ever get change the paint job or you're violating my freedom of expression. You are not entitled to a platform or indefinite and infinite tolerance on any platform you are provided.

Was Facebook or Twitter held to account when they were used to host shooters and terrorists?
Caleb Bailey
"Freedom of speech" is a concept, not an amendment.
It's beyond embarrassing that you don't know why freedom of speech is so important.
Benjamin Long
Yes. There were giant shitstorms. People were literally calling for all livestreams on Facebook to be moderated before they were opened to the general public because they have no idea how the internet works.

Jeremiah James

>"Freedom of speech" is a concept
A fictional one if you expand it beyond government because the interconnectivity of the human condition makes it impossible for speech to not have consequences, almost always a mixture of positive and negative.
As an example, I'm publicly embarrassing you in a debate right now and will only continue to do so as you continue to talk. This inherent threat would be considered my suppressing your speech.
This very thread bumped another thread off 4channel. You are contributing to censorship just by being involved.
>It's beyond embarrassing that you don't know why freedom of speech is so important.
The right to control of message is more important. If a shithead like you plastered something stupid on something I owned, I wouldn't want to have to live with it for the rest of my god damn life.
Owen King
Imagine whining for moderators to censor people because you can't handle the bantz, while unironically thinking you belong anywhere on Yea Forums.
Logan Fisher
Considering Facebook is still up and currently abusing personal data, I'd say no, there are zero repercussions to any of those big tech companies
Elijah Morgan
>And you're saying we do nothing to prevent gun violence?
Unironically this is probably the best move to make.
1st of all gun violence and violence in general has been in sharp decline in the west for decades currently at an all time low.
What is on the rise are spree killings such as mass shootings which while still a statistical anomaly (more people drowning in swimming pools and getting killed with hammers every year) is increasing.
Why is this? Nobody can be entirely certain but in my opinion it's because every jackass that murders people in a big showy event like a mass shooting is turned into a fucking celebrity by the media, picture it, You're a depressed lonely faggot you want to die, you hate everyone who you see as having mistreated you and being callous to your suffering, you want to kill yourself but you know nobody will care and nobody will remember you, but as long as you kill a bunch of strangers first you'll be remembered forever and talked about the world over, what from your deranged perspective is the downside to a mass murder?
Media obsession with mass murders incentivizes them.
Cameron Gray
If only.
Chase Gomez
>literal crossboarding normalfag cancer shitposter thinks he knows what belongs of Yea Forums
Gavin Parker
The business of social media is literally "plastering stupid shit on what they own". That's literally the only reason they stay in business.
That's okay though; free speech alternatives are popping up, and by their very nature will out compete the current censorcuck ones by their very nature.
Austin Walker
It's just too true....
Caleb Adams
>The business of social media is literally "plastering stupid shit on what they own".
Actually the business of social media is literally sell personal information and adspace.
It's fucking god damn hilarious that you think anyone using social media websites is entitled to jack shit when they aren't even paying customers. They're the product.

So you've been deaf and blind for the past 18 years?
>laws to restrict their movements/etc.
Several states in the US have passed anti-sharia laws, despite having next to no muslim populace. Trump publicly called for complete and full ban on Muslims entering the country during his presidential bid. He got his wish partially when his ban of several muslim countries went through the supreme court after he added North Korea to the list so that it wasn't technically a muslim ban anymore.
To pretend there hasn't been massive wave of anti-Muslim hysteria is laughable.

The thing about democrats is that they are seen as weak, but democrat voters are used to that. No matter how bullheaded and stubborn republicans are though, it takes the smallest concession for their voters to call them weak and unlike democrats, that can really hurt a republican. Trump was even more aggressive and unapologetic than any other republican candidate, this translates to strength for the average republican voter.
"Divisive" has been turned into a buzzword meaning "not agreeing with us and also making other people not agree with us". Using it just makes your argument weaker. And even discounting that, it's only considered a bad label if you're some kind of mook who thinks people having different opinions on issues is terrible.

Jeremiah Gomez
So what exactly is bad about this? A kid dressing up, a kid dancing or a kid getting paid for entertaining people? Or do you just not like the venue and patrons? Or do you think he was brainwashed into it by "The Juice"? As in the thought that a kid might enjoy dressing up as a character of the opposite sex for entertainment value, the thing that a massive amount of actors are doing and have been doing for hundreds of years, is completely unfathomable to you?
Also nice anecdotal evidence. Surely that "woman with 40 dogs eaten by own dogs" headline warns us of the slippery slope of dogs being allowed as pets.
Brandon Walker

Because it hits hard. People who are socially successful are rarely arguing on Yea Forums and its not like the simmering rage at women not dating them is subtle round these parts.
Robert Lewis
You're right, in theory. No one has to listen. That's how free speech functions ideally.
But it isn't just that people don't listen anymore. They flame you online and try to get you fired from your job or even incite or commit acts of violence against you. This is happening on both the right and the left, but it is the let's rhetoric that is responsible for escalation.
"There are consequences for speech" just means there is no free speech. Ostracized fringe thinkers become radicalized when they are forced/shamed into the shadows. Would you rather have a lunatic manifesto uncensored you can ignore, or a mass shooting followed by a manifesto? Those are really your two options (take the guns and get mass stabbings, car attacks, home made bombs instead).

Your garage example is totally meaningless because that's not the equivalent of censorship on giant media platforms. If you had a massive billboard conglomerate and you billed yourself as a "neutral billboard magnate" gaining government protection from consequence regarding what people put on your billboards (based on your professed neutrality) and then proceeded to withhopd billboard services from people you disagreed with, all while using your monopoly to prevent independent billboarders from providing those services, THAT is the equivalent. Not your garbage garage analogy.

I told you it wasn't me I was just pointing out that the history is well know and you didnt get me
Charles Murphy
No, nor am I the guy who's been posting Stonetoss ITT.
Why do you ask?
Nicholas Lee
But who put the poster up?
Liam Brooks
Should AT&T be able to stop phone service to their political opponents? Should the electric company be able to shut off their power? Should the water company or a hospital or the fire station be able to refuse them service? You already have banks and credit card companies doing this, so don't "muh slippery slope" me.
Cameron Hughes
Right it wasn't you ESL dude, it was some other ESL user. Totally believe you.
Blake Rivera
>conservatives whining about muh free speech
Should have thought of that when you were shitting on net neutrality, dumb fucks
Parker Brown
I can't think of any major mainstream platform that ever claimed to be neutral on things like gender equality, gay rights or racism. They aren't being disingenuous you just hate the concept of private property.
Charles Johnson
I think those things are public utilities my friend. I'm all for making the internet a regulated and free public service too but that seems like a nonstarter nowadays.
Julian Garcia
Ah, so you're a man of culture as well I see.
Gavin Adams
>Your garage example is totally meaningless because that's not the equivalent of censorship on giant media platforms.
Why? Owning 5 billion garages vs owning 1 garage doesn't diminish anyone's rights to control what is on their fucking garage.
>you billed yourself as a "neutral billboard magnate"
There's literally a terms of service. People are removed for violating it. Go suck ALL the cock.
Jace Adams
yeah, because Yea Forums is know for their strictly good grammar
Tyler Martinez
>So you've been deaf and blind for the past 18 years?
Have you been?
I see a whole lot of accusations that people blame all muslims for terrorism but not a whole lot of people actually blaming muslims, it's always "islamic terrorism" or "Muslim extremist groups" in fact the only time I recall otherwise was the absolute immediate aftermath of 9/11 and even then it was mostly from the mouths of uneducated teenagers.
As far as I can tell nobody except a minority of backwoods retards are actually claimng all muslims have anything to do with terrorism and otherwise it's just everyone arguing past each other claiming that people are saying things they aren't.
>Several states in the US have passed anti-sharia laws
When you say that what do you mean?
Because from how I understand it sharia law refers to islamic holy law imposed on nonbelievers which in that case yes preventing somebody from imposing their religious values on others is wrong, but if you mean something else like preventing muslims from practicing their own faith that's news to me.
>. Trump publicly called for complete and full ban on Muslims entering the country during his presidential bid.
Trump is an idiot but it seems what he was getting at (Or at least the propsal that actually got made) was a temporary moritorium on travel from a select number of countries which didn't perform background checks on people traveling from their country to the US.
What I was referring to by "restricting their movements" was within the US like restricting muslim people to muslim ghettos or preventing them from accessing certain public services.
>To pretend there hasn't been massive wave of anti-Muslim hysteria is laughable.
There certainly has been but what I take issue with is the idea that muslims are by and large universally held as responsible for the actions of the few, even most dyed in the wool trumptards tend to specify islamic terrorists as being the issue rather than all muslims or middle eastern people
Justin Hall
mercantilism = bad
Kevin Edwards
You really reek of newfaggotry, dude. Yeah, before half the retards here were phoneposting you usually couldn't get away with ESL nonsense for multiple posts without getting mocked.
Evan Davis
It's always amazing how quickly libxucks turn into anarcho-capitalists when it comes to banning free speech.
Nicholas Thomas
What's your name user?
Landon Thompson
>I see a whole lot of accusations that people blame all muslims for terrorism but not a whole lot of people actually blaming muslims
One of the pillars for Trump's campaign was a ban on Muslims.
Gabriel Barnes
Imagine posting on Yea Forumsmblr from anything but your phone.
Logan Hall
Wait, you have Ben Garrison comics saved on your phone?
Aaron Taylor
I wish.
James Cooper
Trump himself, obviously. Obama had the time to destroy Russian roads and pee in Russian stair houses when he was president, so surely Trump can take the time to at least put posters of himself up in liberal homes.
Elijah Howard
But if you see some guy using a knife to cut a slice of bread while having a picnic with his family is your first impulse to call the cops?
Xavier Thompson
Do you NOT have Ben Garrison comics saved to your phone?
Julian Rogers
I'm always amazed by how quickly anarcho capitalists become libcucks when it comes to private ownership of media they don't like.
Ayden Harris
The day they ban phoneposters will be a great day for this website.
Hudson Long
You are a sad, strange little man.
Carter Baker
Ask yourself, would you find it appropriate for an underage girl to dance on stage in a nightclub while adult men tossed money at her?
Luis Myers
That doesn't even remotely work.
Anarcho-capitalists might be crazy, but they're consistent.
Luke Howard
>that revisionism
>the absolute state of this board,
we just-tumblr now
Elijah Moore
Yes, because the tranny jannies sure do have a good track record with the way they moderate.
Jacob Mitchell
Stop larping like you were here before phoneposters, you fag.
Jacob Gray
Okay, conservatives then, as that what we're really talking about. A true anarcho capitalist would be far more restrictive on the platforms they own. What we're really talking about is how conservatives bitch about the free market being the best in clearly ridiculous situations (environmental protection, education, prisons) then switching around and arguing the the government should crack down on media to protect their precious feelings. Also anarcho capitalists are essentially nonfunctional morons with a hilariously unworkable system on the level of reinstituting soviet communism.
Nathaniel Sanders
>likening social media to public utilities and basic necessities
That's either intellectually bankrupt or you genuinely need counseling for social media addiction.
>Should AT&T be able to stop phone service to their political opponents?
If they paid for it no. If they didn't and they are acting as a public utility? Also no.
>Should the electric company be able to shut off their power?
See above
>Should the water company
See above and we're now past freedom of speech which is what you were bitching about. Now you're just bitching about discrimination against people acting like shitheads being legal, which tough shit, shithead.
>or a hospital
Hospitals can refuse your ass service for whatever the fuck they want as long as it doesn't violate civil rights law and you aren't literally about to die.
>the fire station be able to refuse them service?
Exclusively a volunteer fire department. Public fire departments are paid by the government to put out fires. Do your damn job or let someone else have it.
>You already have banks and credit card companies doing this, so don't "muh slippery slope" me.
To reiterate, tough shit, shithead.
Dominic Morales
>this is your brain on mainstream media
Did maybe the fact that banning a religion is blatantly fucking unconstitutional not clue you in that it's misconstrued bullshit? He wanted to make immigrants from Muslim countries jump trough more hoops. That's all he could really do within the law.
Levi Baker
Ah yes, the weathermen are going to come back from the dead, sneak into your house and steal your underwear.
Jose Howard
I'm not a conservative.
Does it ever bother you that you've become a Bush Republican?
Ryder Foster
I have zero issue with gay marriage or transgenders but the slippery slope itself (the concept of one change being the catalyst for future changes that accelerate in frequency after the first) isn't a fallacy, it's the idea that the slippery slope applies to everything and that it will always result in things getting worse from the perspective of the complainer that's a fallacy.
Acceptance of transgendered people is objectively a direct result of the decades of continued acceptance of gay people and therefore arguably an example of the slippery slope but it isn't necessarily a negative thing.
Zachary Martin
>Did maybe the fact that banning a religion is blatantly fucking unconstitutional not clue you in that it's misconstrued bullshit?
Isnt that why the Muslim ban had to go through three revisions? Because it was deemed unconstitutional?
lmao dude
Leo James
Probably importers or non tariffed countries?
Bentley Rogers
I hate censorship meself I just think that conservatives are being fun little hypocrites right now and its fun to rub they're faces in it and drink that beautiful cognitive dissonance from their pineal gland.
Caleb Powell
More people watch YouTube than television. More people use messenger services than have landline telephones. You're then disingenuous or ignorant one, my friend.
Christian Kelly
Liam Morgan
Yes. It's not like it's a lewd striptease. It's just dancing. And who cares if they give her the money or throw it, a lot of street performers get money thrown at their feet, it's not like that's somehow sleazy in of itself, and neither are nightclubs. You're pearl clutching. Not everything you personally are not comfortable with is a horrible degeneracy in nee o purging. You live in a free country, let people have their freedom.
Ryder Turner
Ryder Hughes
>let me prove that I'm not ignorant by demonstrating more ignorance
Even something like tightening emigration from countries simply because of their state religion is considered unconstitutional. Even if that religion is a violent ideology. He never tried to actually ban muslims or the muslim faith.
Brayden Clark
Your TOS is a vague as shit POS that bans more non racists than actual racists, you blue check mark tottin' Twitter apologist.
Easton Peterson
Dude quit while you're behind. Trump's original muslim ban had to be rewritten because it was unconstitutional, thems the facts.
lol dude
Gavin Lopez
I agree with you actually but I also feel you're being dishonest about how most people would percieve it.
I think if you described it as I had
>would you find it appropriate for an underage girl to dance on stage in a nightclub while adult men tossed money at her?
To anyone on the street they would say it isn't appropriate even if nothing further takes place.
When it comes to children people tend to lose the capacity for rational thought, that's why you have people trying to legislate us into a police state because video games or guns or comic books or vaccines have somehow been interpreted by them as being in some way remotely hazardous to "muh keedz".
Brandon Brown
K
Angel Moore
LOL
Thomas Hernandez
The fallacy of the slippery slope is in that it is constructing a valid argument and then claiming the argument is sound without attempting to prove the premises.
Jacob Gutierrez
John Turner
>blm in one of those bucket hats
heh
Sebastian Price
>More people watch YouTube than television
I don't have a TV show. Help! I'm being oppressed!
>More people use messenger services than have landline telephones
To my knowledge no messenger services have been banning anyone and arguably direct person to person communication should be regulated as a utility.
Caleb Jackson
Well, there were a lot of cameras this time.
Remember that time Philly cops burned down 60 houses after dropping a bomb on a house from a helicopter?
Good times
Bentley Jones
Hudson Hernandez
If you gave me a questionnaire about my opinions of the Republican Party over the last twenty years and the only boxes to check were "short-sighted", "hypocritical", and "retarded" I would check all three. I'm still just espousing the beliefs of my liberal and secular family which the Democratic Party themselves held up until 2008. And people on here think I'm some kind of ultraconservative nut because they are the short-sighted hypocritical retards now.
Samuel Ramirez
Matthew Myers
what the fuck is any of this shit?
James Bennett
Justin Jackson
Horsey and Asay are really, really bad at getting their point across. Both make the other side look better through incompetence
Asher Ramirez
Why did the draw Trump as a blackface caricature
Jose Reed
Imagine having this little self-awareness.
Zachary Thompson
Kayden Russell
Why are you so dumb?
Asher King
We already imported Africans once, and look how that fucking turned out.
Jackson Wilson
So who's making the next thread?
Leo Reyes
I'm trying to convey to you that social media has BECOME a basic necessity. You're like someone in 1940 telling people that the phone is irrelevant because you can just use a telegraph.
Julian Lewis
LOL
Liam Powell
>I'm trying to convey to you that social media has BECOME a basic necessity
And I'm trying to convey to you that that's lunacy. I can count on 1 finger the number of social media websites I post on and I don't god damn need my youtube account. By the way, here's the finger.
Seriously, get the fuck offline, you're an addict.
Gabriel Edwards
I dunno. The folks like you in the South used to be really excited about it. What changed?
Brayden Campbell
I have a fliptop phone and no Facebook. I'm just capable of acknowledging societal trends.
>Who needs a television! I'm fine with my radio set.
James Lee
At this stage anything that isn't a major push for stopping the coming ecological apocalypse is the decision of an idiot. I also don't have too much respect for people bitching about being banned from a public forum for calling someone a nigger or a faggot. Try that in a bar some time with someone you don't know. See what happens. That sort of environment is what most popular social media sites are trying to mimic, not the admittedly charming "hanging out with homeless dudes under a bridge" vibe that Yea Forums has.
Hudson Nguyen
Facebook use has been declining for 2 years so apparently you really aren't.
Nicholas Gray
Who did Andy Ngo or Steve Scalise call a faggot or nigger again?
Adrian Campbell
One site is in decline because it sucks dick. That's not the death of the paradigm shift. The median age of viewership for the big three cable news networks is, at its lowest, mid-60s. Are you seriously suggesting that the death of Facebook or Twitter means that the age of social media, internet driven communication is over?
Christian Nguyen
I have literally no idea who either of those people are. Why are they important.
Matthew Moore
Andy Ngo, milquetoast conservative reporter recently beaned in the head and given internal bleeding by leftists in California.
Steve Scalise, Republican Congressman shot at a baseball game.
See, what you're talking about and what pundits/activists always default to as examples are harassment and racial epithets. I agree that harassment should be illegal and inciteful language should be ridiculed as unconstructive. But we have reached a point where reasonable pronouncement of opinion over political issues (immigration, foreign policy, welfare programs) now gets one labelled as a bigot or Nazi or racist. Why do so many people not care about the flinging of those labels?
I was at a party yesterday where a friend was lecturing someone about "adorkable misogyny" i.e. like the awkwardness of nerds as depicted in Big Bang Theory towards women. Next part of the conversation was laughter about the scene in Wedding Crashers where Isla Fisher rapes Vince Vaughn. No self awareness.
Jackson Brooks
Yeah, I agree with you there that america is pretty shitty about any kind of nuance. It's been that way my entire life. I grew up in a very liberal state and was first seriously accused of being racist when I was 8. I essentially had no idea what racism was. I think maybe it's a result of the two party system so if you lean to one side you get forced into playing the game for that sides talking points. I haven't extensively experienced much conservative society but it certainly seems that the thought control ideologies run deep on both sides. Utopian social engineers on the left and hardcore traditionalists and religions nuts on the right. Neither has much respect for rationality.
