You now remember CN groovies.

I miss it, bros

SOUL

I used to hate how often this played, now I love it.

Remember when people thought the CN City bumpers were the beginning of the end?

youtube.com/watch?v=Lt074nJUthI

Remember when Yea Forums sang this song? (back when girls used to browse this board, real ones)

youtube.com/watch?v=_IcY7PA1I08

Probably because it came with the logo change. The idea of all the toon characters interacting with each other in the same universe was actually a beautiful thing.

This one groovie is better than the entire PPG reboot.

youtube.com/watch?v=C7ZFeViTl4g

I have my plex set up with a ton of cartoons cartoons from this era. I wish there were a good way to get the bumpers to play randomly during it.

The band who sang that song (Pain) actually had a reunion and they are going under a new name Salvo. The vocalist Dan Lord still sounds the same way as he did when he was younger, it's crazy.

I only remember a few loud contrarians thinking that, most people liked the CN City stuff even if it wasn't (at the time) as iconic as the powerhouse stuff

When the girls were actually crime fighters

You are now that this song has the same basic structure and chord progression as Blitzkrieg Bop
youtube.com/watch?v=iymtpePP8I8

Gotta love the commercials from that era.

There was such a good comment on the YouTube video for this by the former drummer of Pain at the time the band made this track, but I can't find it. Here's my paraphrasing of what the comment was about:

Basically, the band Pain wrote and made this song in like a few days, sent it out and never thought about it again until he (the drummer) was surfing YouTube and saw the video for the Jabberjaw Groovie and saw how it impacted the childhoods of so many people. It's pretty cool.

bump

That was mid 2000s zoomer, not early

OP here, I don't care. Anything until like 2006-2007 is fine.

People didn't think of the CN City bumpers themselves as the decline, but moreso some of the programming changes of that era.

Many of the old shows were cancelled by then, notably Megas XLR and Samurai jack which didn't get proper endings.

New shows came out like Juniper lee, Hi hi puff daddy, Camp lazlo, Ben 10, Squirrel boy, and My gym partner's a monkey which felt kinda mediocre and not up to par to with the 90s shows.

Toonami moved to Saturdays and Miguzi replaced it on weekdays, consisting mostly of meh French anime.

The airing of live-action movies also started on CN at this time, which led to Out of jimmy's head.

The classic cartoons went to Boomerang, notably Looney tunes which was replaced with that Baby looney tunes crap.

Compared to CN now, CN City still had a lot of variety and was good, but coming after the Powerhouse era, they made a lot of cutbacks.

This is my favorite one.

>The airing of live-action movies also started on CN at this time
There are some people that don't believe me when I tell them that there was a point in time that CN aired Dumb&Dumber.

Even now, I have trouble believing it myself.

youtube.com/watch?v=IwnoW6g-wtA

been wanting to post this one somewhere

I hated him so much. Damn it user why did you make me remember?

That's how I first saw Dumb and Dumber as an 11 year old back in 2006. It's one of my favorite movies ever, but why the FUCK did it air on CN?

CN was losing its unique identity around then to compete with Nick and Disney

They also aired Jurassic Park 3 at one point.

Didn't they air iron giant for like a whole day?

Yes. I actually watched that movie some of those multiple times.

I remember that. It was pretty cool.

Kidz bopz always puzzled me. Who listened to it, Why was it made, Who made it, was it a scam using parody laws?

I always wondered the same thing

Fuck dude. These threads make me depressed.

I hate my current life and what the world has become and desperately yearn for the old days where I was happy or at least in grade school. I often watch old commercials from kids shows and break down and cry.

Attached: 88jjj.jpg (200x200, 12K)

In my experience it was always those kind of plain moms that catered to whatever was popular because they wanted their kid to be popular that bought them.

I saw that comment. Apparently they also recorded it at some barn in the middle of nowhere that had been converted into a studio, and every so often they would have to stop recording cause of trains going by.

I wish YouTube's comment system wasn't so fucking awful.

>plain moms that catered to whatever was popular so their kid could be popular
oof I knew a few people like that

TELL ME HOW AM I SUPPOSED TO LIVE WITHOUT YOU?

youtube.com/watch?v=AZJSjrox_2s

So... if people who were in elementary in the late 90s-early 2000s already say they're feeling nostalgic and old, then I wonder, how do people who were in elementary in the EARLY-mid 90s feel?

Like a 35 year old? Are they like ultra-dead ghosts? Their childhood is even more distant than the stuff above.

youtube.com/watch?v=Hurg2uWo06E

They're gone man, they're all gone.

Primetime was what got me to watch Scooby and the Flintstones as a kid, those were the days.

I'm 31 and was in elementary school during the height of Nick. I have soul-crushing nostalgia and want to just die every single day.

I basically try to escape into the 90s/early 2000s whenever I can to avoid depression. And not even because "le 90s were awesome XD" but because I can remember I was happy back then

I couldn't possibly erase Megas.

I, unfortunately, fit your criteria.

I would say that nostalgia induced by age comes in waves.

The first time it crashes upon you is hard and it drags you out into the sea. But each subsequent wave is less and less impactful.

You just come to realize that you've been hopelessly pulled out into the middle of the ocean with no possible hope of swimming back to your youth.

For me, there's a kind of peace in that. Sure, the beach is far away, but the waves can't do much but bob you up and down.

But I'm sure some people wish they'd just fucking drown already

Attached: moped2.gif (500x379, 444K)

pre-load's enough

The rest of the internet is now dominated by zoomers who are nostalgic for late 00s-early 10s CN.

So do you feel like an ultra dead ghost or do you still feel young?

>tfw we'll never get stuff like this again because there's not enough profit in it
Take me back Yea Forums
youtube.com/watch?v=TfadJj4d5K4

If you had asked me a few years ago (where those late 90's babies you talked about are now), I would have said that I needed nostalgia to help me figure out my place in time and in life and assert some identity. Maybe also to heal a little too when things got rough.

But the older I get, the more I feel like a fully formed person who can't be wounded by my distance from my youth.

As Stevie Nicks said, "time makes you bolder." It's one of the niceties that comes along with growing up.You have enough experience to realize what really matters and deserves your time and concern.

And, hell, if things get truly bad, it's not like my pen and ink friends aren't still there whenever I want to visit them.

AND THE DARK DEPTHS OF THE OCEAN!

Attached: 77c.gif (625x338, 1.85M)

Could this concept work with CN's current shows? The commercials maybe but the songs and CN city, I simply don't see it

That's sad as fuck dude. I too wish the world was normal as it once was.

When the fuck were you born? World's been going to shit since 9/11.
