I can't speak for every network, but Disney+ is launching very soon. I imagine the bomb releases for shows like Amphibia are to better justify putting the whole season up and ready to binge on a service like that. And since TTS will be on the service, it's probably just easier for Disney to have the show done and over with by the time it drops so they don't have to deal with uploading episodes as they air.

I didn't say the series was bad, but it's a different animal than the movie. TV shows give good writers more time to develop characters, and Tangled's writers haven't missed that opportunity. It's a great show, but I can't say it's better than the movie, if only because the movie holds a special place in my heart. It's clear that the show runners feel the same way as they've worked so hard to keep the characters and the overall feel of the series in line with the movie. Not to mention, without the amazing movie, we wouldn't have the amazing show.

Frozen is a cash cow, they'll milk movies out of it as long as it makes billions.

I recently started checking again the World of Darkness character creation sheets and thought it'd be fun to make sheets for the Tangled cast.

I think Rapunzel would have Charisma 5 due to how good she is at getting others to follow her and change their alignment (see Snugly Ducking going from Morality 3 to 6/Chaotic Evil to Chaotic Good) with some merit like God Mien/Heroic Attribute (Appearance) to give her +2 on rolls to manipulate and persuade people. I think she'd have low Manipulation because she sucks at lying and the poker face, making up for it with sheer charisma (maybe Manipulation 2 or 3).

And have Composure as her dump stat because she can be quite reckless and easily influenced by others or her own emotions.

Eugene would be a rogue with high Dextery (maybe 3 or 4) and high Charisma which makes him such a chad. He would have relatively balanced stats but overall no trait higher than 2. He would also score high in the Subterfuge skill with a specialty in pickpocketing and lock opening.

Lance would have even higher traits than Eugene in the pickpocket skill, lower morality score and higher strength but lower Charisma.

Cassandra is a brute, spending most of her points in Strength and Endurance. That's why she's so good at receiving beatings, but having a low Dextery (maybe 2) which makes her ask the MC continually why every thug gets the drop on her. Probably made Mental skills her dump stat with Intelligence 2 and Wits 1.

Honestly it can be anything you want it to be. It started as Gothic Horror and inspired the Nasuverse and other modern horror stories in the 90's with the Vampire: the Masquedade game. Then came Werewolf, Changeling and Mage who made each their own universe.

Mage is a game where belief shapes reality, and you got stuff like the Men in Black and cyborgs fighting against dragons and sorcerors.

But if there was a game I think fits Tangled, it would be Changeling: the Dreaming. About faeries and contracts where magic always has its quirks and downsides (kinda like the bird episode or the movie where the flower was a nice trick but had its risks too), or Exalted. A game about gods fallen from grace into the age of man. Which fits with Rapunzel being a Solar Exalted, a fragment of the sun with extreme power and that affects her body by making her more of everything she is. That'd explain why she's such a fast learner.

I like her because she tries so hard, she's not pandering, and there are realistic cause and effect to her actions and reactions.

She wants to be a guardian, a warrior, a hero. Tough shit, you're a woman. Does she wail against society? No, she trains herself so she can rise to the moment when the universe gives her a chance. Side effect of being self-taught? She's mediocre at best. Well-studied, but still mediocre with noone to critique her. She jobs hard, and it gets to her. The woman she pines for no longer needs a babysitter/bodyguard and that gets to her. Pining for someone she can't have puts stress on their friendship. Not trusting Raps gets her crippled when she tried to pull her out of the Edgy Avatar State. Raps refusing to accept blame for Cass' mistake gets to her. Being crippled/slowly necrotized gets to her. Watching her oh-so-special perfect princess about to become even more special got to her. And she snapped. Like dominoes.

And her writing is so subtle. It's never spelled out that she's jealous of Rapunzel, or that she envies Eugene's role in her life, or that she resents Rapunzel's clear destiny. Her fanon romantic feelings for Rapunzel are only barepy hinted at, and their existence/absence don't detract from her character at all.

The most gracefully written tragic figure of the last five years is in a goddamn princess show made for babies.

I never know there is TV show about Belle. Aladdin is fun to watch, but the only regret is it’s mostly about slice of life episodes and not much lore and mystery was developed considering it’s Disney TV show in 90s, also Alan Menken didn’t return to compose the new songs.

The sheer horror of Rapunzel's destiny and what it entails for her on a personal level. My only solace about this underappreciated gem (stupid mouse not giving it any marketing) is that the kiddie theme gives it an optimistic feeling that is lacking in today's modern and more cynical media. In a way not being overly gory and cynical while still being well written differentiates it from today's dime a dozen Rick and Morty wannabies.

Ah, Zhan Tiri. I have to ask - what the hell was the deal with him in Painter's Block. He suddenly became a primary world-ending threat for a single episode. In Season 1. I don't think that's how you're supposed to do build-up to the endgame villain.

Rewatching Challenge of the Brave, it gave me an erection watching Cass forced to wear a dress and go through the domestic tasks of a lady in waiting, and her hating every moment of it.

The only thing that came close was all the times in the same episode she was demeaned by others

You should give the show a chance. It's a good story, especially in episodes like Great Expotations or Queen for a Day. It has a good overreaching narrative and the characters develop across the episodes.
