I wonder if shit like the simple ricks thing is why he opposes the citadel and the council of ricks.

Could be. Rick's sole moral principle seems to be Anti-People-Telling-Rick-What-To-Do, and no-one does that more than the Citadel.

>You wanted to be safe from the government so you became a stupid government. That makes every Rick here less Rick then me.

The Citadel embodies the central paradox of Rick - his fight to be free from bureaucrats inevitably ends up creating some kind of tyranny just like real libertarians

Writing has been increasingly inconsistent with bigger declines and there's mountains of fans gobbling it up. If you don't have people to tell you the writing is shit, you probably won't fix it. So the show will probably just get worse and shit that panders to the especially annoying or obsessive fans will be more prevalent, which in turn just makes them more obnoxious.

You're assuming the writers like those fans.

>implying they don't

The show imo was declining ever since S1. Sounds cliche but the show had more soul being a wacky space adventure with a drunk grandpa. It started taking itself too seriously after that and didn't have the writing to back it up.

So, theory time. What happened to change "our" rick from all the other ricks?

At first it seemed like all the Ricks are the same, but clearly that's not the case, as we see some ricks are willing to be basic laborers, and many of them have wildly different personalities. Cool Rick, Cop rick, etc.

The main plotline Rick is in many ways the *most* different rick. What fucked him up so badly that he is different than the countless millions of main curve ricks?

The best episode of the show is an Australian shitpost

It was a nescessary evil, the showrunners needed to see the type of people their pretentiousness was attracting
Seson 4 will be seaon 1 again and everyone will hate it, mark my words

Well they have a contract now for multiple seasons, and I think the main creators are both super depressed.

So with nothing to prove, and nothing to lose, they really could just do anything. Or nothing.

>What fucked him up so badly that he is different than the countless millions of main curve ricks?
He found happiness once.

No

My friend said they were sold out of things before they even opened

Shit, you just made me realize something. Have we seen a Rick prisoner? Like, there must be a prison filled with Ricks right?

Or- maybe they just have immediate death for any serious punishment?

He is just a needy asshole

This show made me hate going to music festivals

What do they sell?

despair

It's just an extremely regular hot sauce. Nothing fancy about it. I can't even remember how it differed from the regular stuff from the store shelves. It wasn't exactly the same, but it was close and had you given me the sauce without telling me what it was I would have never even have noticed.
Though then again it's been decades since I had the sauce and I only had the sauce once. But I do remember thinking that it was just regular sauce when I ate my fries with it, and tried to think of what made it different only to come to the conclusion that it simply kind of wasn't.

We all have to grow up someday

My friend said that the Rick mobile has exclusive merch. Shirts, and stuff like that. Nothing great, he eventually gave up on the line and left though.

There are other rebel Ricks. We see one in that one episode with the shield made of tortured Mortys.

I mean, all the Ricks have Mortys. Which implies all the Ricks met Morty's grandmother and produced Beth. So it's not just that.

Our Rick differs from the other Ricks because the other Ricks are able and willing to work together. Our Rick hates the other Ricks, sees them as no better than anyone else. In other words, our Rick hates HIMSELF in a way that the majority of Ricks don't seem to.

hes not against them on fucking moral principle

>We see one in that one episode with the shield made of tortured Mortys.
That Rick was being controlled by Evil Morty.
>I mean, all the Ricks have Mortys.
Doofus Rick doesn't have a Morty.

Oh, I think that's a good theory.

Our Rick may be the most self hating rick of all the ricks. Wonder why?

It wasn't even close to hot sauce, tasted more like onions sauce than anything. y u lie.

>greentext makes anything true

I think he means the Scientist Formerly Known as Rick.

I spent half a minute wondering what the fuck is onion sauce

retards
the show follows the most extreme rick because that's the one you'd follow if you were making a show

Yes? Obviously? But since the show likes to develop and create plot from throwaway gags, and have hidden underlying plot, the fact that the show follows the most extreme rick has been, and will continue to be, a major plot point.

and yet the best episode is the one where he appears for like 30 seconds total

if theres an explanation for it it will be a stupid one. you understand this on some level yet you want to go there.

Brother, if you don't like rick and morty what are you doing in a rick and morty thread?

Yes of course the explanation will be stupid. But it'll probably also be fun and involve some ridiculous over the top animation.

>just like real libertarians
You misspelled liberals

I mean to communicate that it will be bad writing and everyone who will see that hypothetical episode will wish they hadn't

>Brother, if you don't like rick and morty what are you doing in a rick and morty thread?

reading comprehension is a skill you can develop but it's better if you don't try to have a conversation while practicing.

>Dude why are you criticising things? Why can't you like everything like I do?

>Fuck you for liking anything. Hate everything in existence, just like me and Rick.

Agreed

yeah you can all go back at any time
how about right now

>libertarians make tyranny
I mean not in that they do regulation. The absence of regulation without an equaling of power leads to those with old power, still having power. Libertarians have thus far done nothing to do any type of tyranny. Socialists though, well they may love their Scandy countries, but they sure as shit ignore all the other crimes committed in the name of socialism.

Why is only our Rick a fugitive and former partner in crime to Bird Person and Squanchy? How do they know which Rick to capture?

Yeah if season 4 is good and only season 1 and some of 2 were good so it's not looking good

They respected their opinions enough to write a second "improvised television" episode even though the first one was pretty awful.

the most extreme self hating rick is the one theyre going to focus on fixing because its a path of growth and redemption

the story theyre aiming for is a conversion from independent tormented asshole to a normal function person who can integrate with larger society

I love Rixty Minutes. I wish Justin had more direct influence over the writing rather than the show being Dan Harmon's soap box.
