Dominator by design is the antithesis of what SU practices, a happily hateful person that's completely devoid of a conscience or any hope of redemption. SU is escapist and gives all of its antagonists (besides some minor ones nobody gives a shit about, and maybe the movie villain but I doubt it) some hokey excuse as to why they're being bad so Steven can solve it, redeem them and have everyone go home happy. Dominator acts the way she does because she's a psychotic, inhuman monster that is incapable of empathy and actively wants to destroy anything she comes into contact with for fun. She'd mock Steven for thinking the friendship song and dance would work before killing all his friends, curbstomping him and having a good laugh about it later.

Not him, but SU is escapist in the sense that it's possible for anyone to be redeemed more than anything. Abusers can learn what they're doing is wrong and repent, people can reconcile and everything can be better. Stuff like that. The planet being healed was hinted at in prior episodes with the flower.

Except that Steven failed to convince several characters including Jasper, Navi and Aquamarine, also there was several consequences for Rose "ethical warfare" that resulted on several deaths.

Steven Universe consistently portrayed consequences for making any choice while Wander over Younder negated them all by negating Dominator and Hater actions plus forgiving them for no logical reason.

This is the only thread I can talk about this but why do people treat Steven beating white diamond as hin talking her down. It's the other way around, she's lonely because these traits prevent her from growing close to anyone in a non-harmful way. Being evil because you're lonely is much different than being lonely because you're evil. Dominator's the latter.

Again, Hater has never once considered Wanders offer of friendship seriously, Dominator outright did, we literally saw her struggle with the choice before stomping off like a child.

Anyway, the point I'm saying by mentioning the Captain Tim episode and him getting rejected and what have you is that, even if it's not specifically about being evil, Hater's horribly insecure about basically everything. It's made a point that he's a walking atom bomb when he actually has his head in the game, and he almost never does. If Hater can be run through the mud so often and still keep his character, Dominator -who's also insecure on some level, hence thinking the proposal over, but as a whole much more confident in herself than Hater ever will be- will take ages to change, if at all.
