Can we please have a thread for the saddest blockhead in all of mugga fiction? This man deserves some kind of sendoff and it's clear that his own show won't bother at this point.

I cannot not look at Dan Stevens' eyes. Damn whoever made the cast, a fucking crazy genius they are.
All I want is to find a copy of epi 7 without stupid American ads inbetween
Even the torrents have ads weirdly enough.
He's honestly perfect as David and it's heartbreaking how he's been treated so far.
At least this show will have a better ending than GoT
can't top GoT's ending because nothing will ever be better than that shit tier middle-earth ripoff being over
Are you 100% about this user because Syd is still acting like garbage and they wasted a whole ep to make you think she wouldn't.
Looks like he beat off a lot of men to get where he is
One character being garbage is better than all of them being hit with the idiot stick.
I'm sure present David is getting deleted from the timeline while baby David is raised by prof X.
I swear to god if they St. Elsewhere this and reveal David's entire journey has been in his mind where his legion is the entire world and he's been in a hospital it'll rustle every jimmy in the universe
It just sucks that prime current David is "irredeemable" because he's a rapist when Syd is a rapist and a victim blamer too. Literally all David ever needed was a support structure with real friends and the second he got it it turned out to never be real in the first place and now that makes him the bad guy? I mean what the fuck is that shit?
Will they give him the hair?
Will he have multiple personalities?
I loved Season 1 up until the last episode, haven't gotten around to seeing 2 or 3.
2 gives you what you want but in a lazy kinda way honestly
Neither David nor Syd raped anybody and I don't get what the appeal is to constantly repeating that they did like that. David removed a memory from Syd and Syd switched bodies with her mom before walking into a shower with some drunk guy from her mom's party.
Regardless of how you classify sexual assault in superhero fiction you cannot ignore the narrative's assurance that our once sweet and heroic protagonist is now a monster even though he was driven to such a state by previously trusted allies.
y'all faggots forget that he's a villain
Well what do you know? It's like in real life minus mutant powers. It's like some people never have a chance at happiness, no matter how hard they try.
David isn't a villain
>it is David Collins
Holy shit how did I not know this
He kinda is. He might think he is a hero, but he actually is a villain with a tragic motivation, and in that regard it's accurate portrayal to how he always was in the comics
???
It was, quite literally, explained in the finale of season 2 how David has been the one with the delusions the entire time, "I'm a good person, I deserve love", killed a ton of people with a smile on his face, and brainwashed and raped Syd. And now he has a brainwashed cult who have killed a bunch of people, has personally killed most of section 3, is using a time traveller until she's almost dead, doesn't care about the time demons destroying the world, the list goes on.
>if other people commit crimes it's ok if you do it too!
Is that really the justification you're going with
And to makes thing better, it's just like in comics. He creates one alt reality after another and messes things up.
The shadow king literally possessed him when he killed those division 3 people in season 1 that is the shadow king's smile and not david's. The rape stuff is ridiculous because the shadow king brainwashed syd and then david erased that and then the shadow king unerased it so she thinks david is a bad guy. The shadow king also killed his sister so fuck that guy david isn't a villain at all he got fucked over hard is all.
user she's a massive hypocrite and isn't being punished for her own crimes while actively criticizing and murdering in the name of someone else's.
He was the lead in a film called The Guest. Basically he is evil, insane Captain America.
and he had to beat off a lot of american men to get that job
youtube.com
Just because SK is an evil asshole, it doesn't make David automatically better. In many ways Legion was rightfully about one villain trying to one-up another villain. It's not even about the rape thingy, it's just that being a reality manipulator could drive anyone insane and dangerous
>The shadow king literally possessed him when he killed those division 3 people in season 1 that is the shadow king's smile and not david's.
Again, Melanie showed Syd the truth, it was the Shadow king doing the killing but David was in control of his emotions and had a smile on his face and was happy he got to kill the people who had kidnapped his sister. He was also smiling while torturing Oliver who he thought was Farouk.
>The rape stuff is ridiculous because the shadow king brainwashed syd and then david erased that and then the shadow king unerased it so she thinks david is a bad guy.
You've got it backwards. David erased her mind to make it so that she forgot why she was pointing the gun at David and made her think they were still in love. Farouk unerased that part.
>The shadow king also killed his sister so fuck that guy david isn't a villain at all he got fucked over hard is all.
There is more than one villain in this story.
He was literally posessed by Amal Farouk when he killed those people! We know this! You've been tricked exactly like the characters in the show. They made him into a """villain""" because they are afraid of him since in their minds he must be evil because they can't afford the possibility of trusting him not to be.
Amal Farouk has killed thousands, kept Lenny and Bird's husband as slaves, horrifically overwrote David's sister into Lenny to manipulate David into violence because he knew that was not his nature but that he could trick them into thinking it was by provoking him. David's only act of "villainy" was showing weakness and vulnerability because it convinced everyone it must be an act because of how powerful he is. Their insecurity makes it so that he must be the villain. Amal Farouk is demonstrably evil and they're working with him, it's a joke if you take a step back and look at it
Wtf SK killed thousands of innocents, wtf has David even done that's remotely as bad
Destroying the future and causing the death of billions comes to mind.
I'm convinced that world killer stuff is bullshit as no one even bothered to make sure it's true or not.
Just because he has the power to do so doesn't make him evil, we saw a bunch of other potential futures in Season 2 and those are just as valid possibilities.
both are x-men villains that;s the point
Are you saying the person living in that future (one-armed Syd) is lying?
user there is no truth that wasn't even Melanie it was SK masquerading as indicated by Melanie being kidnapped an episode previously and the minotaur being on the loose which was earlier only inside Melanie's head. Also another thing I just remembered the whole reason Syd is even at the bottom of that hole? A GIANT HOOK HOOKED HER FUCKING HAND AND DRAGGED HER DOWN INSIDE I MEAN COME ON MAN
In fact, the only thing that would lead to that future is incriminating and dehumanizing him further and further like they have been doing! Maybe don't betray and treat the most powerful human ever like a rabid dog that needs to be put down at the advice of a demonstrably evil centuries old mastermind who drove an entire order of monks to kill themselves?
>Just because he has the power to do so doesn't make him evil
Correct, but he has to be stopped either way. At the end of season 2 they wanted to get him back on medication so he could control his impulses and power, he said no because he thought Farouk was controlling them all, and now he's out for revenge
Watch The Guest. Don't look up anything about, no trailers or nothing. Go in blind, you'll thank me later
Disegenuous statement, we both know that's a bullshit angle and doesn't validate your point at all. Legion in the comics is a victim of circumstance and at the mercy of his power who is occasionally maligned with the X Men. Shadow King is downright evil. Maybe if they were going after Shadow King too, there would be some ground to stand on but he's got them eating out of the palm of his hand
Justify them teaming up with Farouk then. Tell me how it'd be responsible for the most powerful human ever to surrender themselves to a team working with the guy whose whole mission statement is to enslave your powerful mutant body to become a god and take over/remake the world.
You need the second most powerful mutant alive to stop the first most powerful mutant in existence from destroying the world, pretty straightforward.
>he thinks "straightforward" is an apt word for what's going on in Legion
Big red flag right there that should tip you off that you're being played like a dumbass. Farouk has tricked them into thinking David is their enemy so they'll help him capture him so that Farouk can use his body, or just kill him and go totally unchallenged for world domination. David has never been interested in world domination or anything, he only wanted to have a pretty simple life and not be treated like an animal. Their whole argument against David stems from footage of David killing people WHILE POSESSED BY FAROUK, and him torturing Bird's husband and beating up Farouk because Farouk just murdered his sister and her husband. Farouk knew he could paint this picture of him, it's embarassing how easy to manipulate everyone was, despite KNOWING that Farouk MURDERED hundreds of their own companions and David hasn't even killed anyone.
I'm not the user from earlier
But while you make a point which was future Syds plan from the jump. David has been on medication before he found out he had mutant powers having his friends tell him to go back on medication yeah of course he would say no and run off The Shadow King's the reason why he was on drugs in the first place.
First thing, Farouk doesn't want to go back to David's body. Farouk wanted to get back to his own body, which he now has.
Second, David blames Farouk for everything that happened to him, including his mental illness, and is now trying to go back in time to kill Farouk before he can invade David's body. To do this he has killed inumerable division 3 people including Clark, brainwashed Cary, destroyed Clark's husband's mind, thought he destroyed Syd's mind, is using Switch until she's basically dead, all because he thinks he can just undo everything.
We are left to think that this is how the future is destroyed thanks to David time jumping and letting in the time demons, and was possibly why future Syd wanted to reunite Farouk with his body instead of letting David kill him.
David thinks that's the reason why he was on medication, that it was the Shadow King driving him crazy, but really it was both. David is mentally ill, he has multiple personality disorder/schizophrenia, but thinks it was caused by the shadow king latching onto him as a baby and that by going into the past he can stop the shadow king and by extension himself from going crazy.
Future Syd is a dumbass
Scratch that, Syd is a dumbass, just always a dumbass. Can a fella get a little bit of support out here? Yeesh, show gives me anxiety man ;_;
I wouldn't be suprised if that was the case
But i also belive that the shadowking medeling caused him the split personalities
the only thing that irritates me about this train of thought (and you probably have more of a reason for using this example, but i'm saying in general) is that because one is clearly a villain, the other isn't. this isn't true: while david and the shadow king aren't on the same scale of villainy, both are ultimately the villains of the story.
>david isn't a villain at all he got fucked over hard is all
most villains were people who got dealt a bad hand, user.
>thinks the only way to stop david is by getting the shadow king's help
>seemingly loved someone unconditionally for months only to be swayed against this love by what is essentially a long youtube comment as far as valuable content is concerned
>doesn't even believe he should be incarcerated just straight up wants to murder the guy
>hates david only because he hurt her and not because of the danger he poses to others
>angry at rape even though she raped someone when she but a wee lass and she doesn't even consider it such she feels as though the guy she raped was the bad guy
She's insanely retarded and I can't even remember why I liked her in the first place now.
>both are ultimately the villains of the story.
Well i see what you mean but then i'd say that stories don't necessarily have "villains" at all; only protagonists and antagonists, and the delineation of both characters as "villains" is arbitrary. I think the takeaway is thst Legion is primarily a man vs self type story and that David is our protagonist, for better or worse, and i'd like to think we as an audience would want to see him reach peace, equanimity, whatever you want to call it. Become centered, healthy.
I've been watching the Sopranos this year as well by coincidence, and one of the major themes of the first season is the idea that people are ultimately driven by their insecurities, which suits Syd to a T.
As far as she's concernced she has to try and murder David and wage this war against him, because she sees herself as having been betrayed by him since she allowed herself to get close to him. The scene where reality set in and David confronted the idea that his relationship with Syd had been delusional since day one was a real gut punch. He expected too much from her and she expected him to know exactly what the nature of their relationship was even as she changed it on a dime, and ended up being massively hypocritical in her condemnation of him.
I've never been more ready for a show to end, this show is a solid 6/10 right now. I'm hoping the finale will boost it to a 7/10, but season two really sucked the wind out of it's sails.
Season 2 was amazing. get lost, nerd
Oh it's you again, whining that anyone that doesn't share your opinion needs to "fuck off". You were told last thread why you're wrong.
I wasn't in the last thread, I shouldn't have to explain to you that there's more than one person on Yea Forums. If you think simply coming into a thread about a subject you don't like and declaratively saying you don't like it means there's any kind of objectivity to your opinion, then I've got bad news for you that you may actually have narcissistic personality disorder or something. Like you should be able to comprehend the concept of other people liking something despite not liking something yourself. Idk, you could also just be stupid/undersge but i'm giving you the benefit of the doubt. Don't come crying to me when people tell you to fuck off if that's a thing you do on the regular lol
Oh you are definitely the dude from last thread
HE SAID CAPTAIN I SAID WOT

Look around the usual places
>David removed a memory from Syd
Not just a memory, but the bullshit Faruq put in her head via Melanie
>Syd switched bodies with her mom before walking into a shower with some drunk guy from her mom's party
It was her mother's sexual partner and she went in knowing what she was doing, the "turned me around" whitewash of the situation doesn't change the fact that she pretended to be someone else to get sexual with the guy and then let him go to prison as a pedo.
In short, David did nothing wrong, Syd is a bitch
>killed a ton of people with a smile on his face
That was Faruq controlling David, and when Syd said that to him, she had been fooled by Faruq as well
It's all Faruq, user.
I mean, even when Melanie and Oliver are in the Astral Plane talking about how David "turned", they stop for a moment and look confused because they remembered helping Farouk.
Farouk played everyone against David, even some of the viewers it seems.
Syd just shows the old adage that "These hoes ain't loyal." David is not a villain. Notice how all the gov't guys also dress like fascist bad guys from the Matrix? They were also willing to kill David without charging him with any crime or a fair trial. David's the good guy.
>David isn't a villain
lol, come on now.
Also anyone catch the parallel they made with Farouk baiting Charles and David baiting Switch?
David, explaining Farouk to Charles in the last episode:
>He wanted you to come.
>You thought you were looking for him, but he was looking for you.
Lenny and Switch, from the first episode:
>What do you want, Switcheroo? A Band-Aid for your boo-boo?
>I'm not looking for you.
>You're looking for me.
David was basically raised by Farouk, and he's basically been acting out the same behaviors after you get past the superficial differences. Farouk's self-aggrandizement as making himself King and keeping all those children and servants around to lord his power over them is analogous to David making himself Daddy / God and keeping the commune followers around to feed his own ego. And both love showing off their abilities. You have Farouk using the painting of a man he never saw ostensibly as a gift but really as a way of demonstrating his mastery over telepathy and subtly intimidating Charles (reveals right off the bat he knows who Charles is, where he lives, his wife and kid, what they all look like, etc) in the process.
Also you have David repeating the "I'm the magic man" line to Switch in their first meeting and using the elaborate and needlessly fantastical structures and events he created like the crawl tube or the laundromat that turns into a choreographed musical number when Switch solves David's orange fish clue.
But yeah, worst trait Farouk and David have in common is dehumanizing others. Farouk in Season 1 using Lenny as a mouthpiece described love as reminiscent of the O. unilateralis fungus infecting ants. And in Season 2 he compared humans to prey ("does a lion ask the morality of killing a deer?"). While David violently maimed Switch through forced time travel only to call her "no one" and "a means of getting here."
We're way past that now. The "fascist bad guys" are all dead. And David is clearly not the good guy anymore.
Syd's an obnoxious garbage character who I wish wasn't even in the show to begin with, but you're being willfully ignorant if you still think David's the hero at this point. Hawley already said very clearly and explicitly that he's doing Breaking Bad for supervillains. David turning into the villain is the entire point of the show.
>breaking bad for supervillians
So Breaking Bad? Doesn't matter anyway since the whole show is in David's mind
