She's not gonna be cartoonishly evil in canon but she was still fairly self absorbed. It's amazing how many plot-points just get outright ignored because we need to pay attention to 'romantic shipping couple' or 'argument with main characters' or 'revisiting the same plot points Taeshi refuses to resolve for the past 8+ years..' - so everything else that should be logically happening gets a backseat.

I'd rather Abbey and Jasmine shuffle off than have to watch them being shipped.

-Abbey talks to Paulo and says he is over Daisy and happy with Jasmine and her friends. Bury the hatchet and end rivalry.
-Confirm all your rando ships with secondary characters and main ones alike. Show them fucking off on a date or something.
-Lucy gives a backstory on what she did when she was gone.
-Mike mans the fuck up and actually talks to Sandy about being strung along for so long.
-Do the obvious shitty shipping that is Lucy and Mike making up and dating.
-High School Graduation

They 'Abbey is total shit' crowd seem to forget how good Volume 3 Abbey was, the backstory with his mom, adoptive parents, Molly and going to therapy was great. I actually even kinda liked the Daisy and Abbey wanna have sex but then don't chapters.

Abbey being first introduced was just a white knight, then he got some character and growth in volume 3 only to have that entirely dropped so Abbey could be the antagonist for Daisy x Paulo ship - pretty much all the other stuff got dropped so he could be a salty dickhole towards them until the inevitable breakup.

Whatever sparks of potential friendship are there clearly can't overcome Paulo being Paulo. So long as he can keep his commentary about Sandy limited to actual advice, Mike has already proven 100% open and friendly to the guy.

Well during half the time Lucy was driving herself miserable by obsessing over Mike, Taeshi was engorging the BCI library with her personal Lucy x Paulo fanfiction, so I think she gets bored of her own established plots and does want something different.

If she were able to embrace the fact that she's writing a webcomic and not space everything out so much to make it "more like a graphic novel" then it'd be easier for her to do more fun stories or stories with side characters. Honestly if Homestuck can turn itself into a physical book then I don't think you need to butcher your panel count and pacing for print. Maybe just the book exclusives could be in that format since they'd only be seen in a book.

It's just seriously annoying that what would've been maybe a few panels, maybe half a page in the past is now an entire page. I like Mike, but he doesn't need an entire page to be briefly sad. And this is all we get for the week!

I get that she's been doing this for a long time, but a little effort put into efficient storytelling would go a long way here.

Lilly was such a shit character. She saw the Mike/Lucy breakup coming from a mile away and had a front row seat to Lucy's deepening depression. So what's she do? Give Mike a disapproving look at the hospital. Bitch, you could have jumped in at any time and at least TRIED to fix things. Lilly needs to be hurled into a damn wall.

I liked this artstyle way more, actually any artstyle before the sonic chibi copy shit was way better. Imagine if they kept practicing the earlier artstyles, actually getting better at their own personal, unique style instead of just copy n pasting chibi shit
