He's not a giant, it was just for this episode. Though I wish he stayed one

he’s normal sized, he’s just giant in that one episode because of magic or something

Not so much redesign him but I'd give him a few friends his own age who he can reasonably have a rivalry with
Ian wanted him to be like Kid Goku and Rad and Enid to be his Yamcha (who looks like Piccolo) and Bulma but Dragon Ball didn't actually start getting good until Goku got Krillin
for a show that was paying so much homage to anime they forgot the MC should have someone who challenges them as a rival

Ok here's my design. I tried emphasizing his best features more which imo is his hands and hair. Made his outfit more comfortable looking and give him some sneakers. I feel like I overdid his outfit with the upturned collar and ripped arm holes. Might want to keep one or the other. Also, no nose cause I felt it would take up too much space on his face

Over the last two years, I've seen more people complain about the art style than the character designs.

By the way, kudos to everyone who's contributed so far, and to anyone who contributes later. After all the mockery and bitching that's been going around since the cancellation announcement, it's nice to see something good come out of this.

It's honestly because his design is already decent desu. Overall it's mostly us doing little tweaks to our preference. I also feel that if we stray too far from the OG design it wouldn't even be considered K.O.

Tried to improve this K.O. redesign from yesterday a bit more and made a couple alts. I used Streets of Rage, Comix Zone and Kid Goku as a ref this time. Was really fun to do this again and great practice for character design in general.

A different style can be a redesign. Look at the pilot: I would say his new pilot design is basically just "in a different style", but it's still fair to say it's a redesign.

The semantics being argued here is "redesign" vs "re-imagining". A redesign can be as simple as giving superman a mullet and a black costume. A re-imagining would be making superman electricity based and totally scrapping his previous look.

Make him less streets of rage and normal like a kid working at a conveinence store. Make him short but also skinny muscular, showing that he's at least training and taking this seriously.

When I see OK KO! I think Goku who took shit not so seriously becuase he saw fighting as a game and it was like a game. But Goku was more towards the idea of a powerful alien race who saw mountains of enemies as an amusement park.

Make KO actually concerning about his actions, looking up certain heroes and practicing their moves. Make him obsessive like the fan, showing us a stressed out kid who keeps trying to further his life.
