CN Hotel Ain’t Happening

I’m calling it now, this shit is dead in the water. The last time a real headline was made was when they petitioned the county to allow them to build the 25 foot Jake statue back in February, an outcome that I can’t seem to find anywhere.
This was allegedly gonna open this summer, which is nearly over.
Dutch Wonderland’s operating season ends on October 10th. So if they don’t open this shit by September, they’ll barely get a month’s worth of guests before clientele drops like rocks. And seeing as lawn games, outdoor s’more making, and an outdoor amphitheater are listed as attractions, I can say with 100% certainty that this hotel is not intended to be open during a Pennsylvania winter.
Maybe they realized making a 165 room resort based on a tv channel in 2019 was a bad idea? Maybe they realized building it next to one of the crappiest theme parks in the US was an even worse idea? Or maybe it was that they placed it in fucking Amish country that told them to run.

But face it Yea Forums your CN hotel ain’t ever happening.

Maybe a Pennsylvanian user could drive by the build site and take a picture of what it currently looks like?

I'm in Pittsburgh, where's the hotel supposed to be at?

Lancaster. It’s directly next to Dutch wonderland

Wait, this is a thing?

How are they still using season one designs?!

Yep. Nickelodeon had a hotel too.

That's almost a four hour drive for me user.

If it makes you feel better, there’s a Golden Corral across the street you can go to afterwards to get s low quality dinner with the change of potential food poisoning

Aw for a second I thought "CN Hotel" was a show where all CN characters would gather, like the ultimate crossover. I don't care about an actual hotel.

The Nick Hotel was an actual resort. It was all suites, of which there were 777 of them, a large food area, two water parks, an arcade, and game shows to keep kids busy on top of it being right next to Disney world in Florida. This isn’t even the discount version of the Nick hotel, this is the non-union Chinese equivalent

That technically existed as a flash game back in the day called “Cartoon Cartoon Resort.” It was a Lucas arts style adventure game where you did various tasks as a employee of an island resort that various cn characters stayed at. It was 5 episodes long I think. I haven’t seen it in over 10 years, but I used to play it with my brothers as a kid

I thought this was gonna be in some foreign country like IMG World of Adventure, but it’s in fucking Pennsylvania? Horrible idea since cable in the US is dying. They should’ve done this in a foreign country where TV is still popular (I think)

At least build the hotel in Pittsburgh or Philly.

you mean the teen titan hotel?

Conspiracy theory. They're trying to back out of the contract so that they're free to use the properties for that Warner Brothers Theme Park in Orlando that's rumored.

We're seeing hints of this already with WB not licensing anything to Universal for Halloween Horror Nights this year and Six Flags licensing Garfield in anticipation of losing Looney Tunes next few years.

The CN hotel deal was probably signed before the execs decided to use CN in Warner World and now they're trying to back out.

Actual Lancastrian here

As far as I know this shit isn't happening. Nothing about it lately in the paper or on Lancaster Online. I haven't been out near Lincoln Hwy for a while (it's 30 min from my house in Manheim) but my coworkers live near there and nobody has said a word.

Never heard of it

Dude no shit I was in the parking lot for this place like 3 fucking days ago, I do traffic control and we were working on PA-30 or whatever the big road is (not from PA). it's definitely being built, but it looks like ass. pretty sure they're just renovating the building that was already there.

Even if this did open as planned, the IP doesn't really fit the demographic of the park. Most of Dutch Wonderland is made for literal toddlers

Wannabe Nickelodeon resort

Oh my god. What will I ever do now?

Given those concept designs, I think they realized they fucked up with...everything and decided to can it

What do I mean by that? Well have you ever noticed "Cartoon Network" isn't a exactly a brand in the same way Disney or even Nick are? How even at its highest, the most iconic CN series couldn't compete with the most iconic Nick series and definitely not Disney.

CN was always more interested in the here and now, and ever really fought to keep their characters relevant after their respective series ended. Sure they're great shows and remembered fondly by cartoon nerds, but if you asked someone on the street of a certain age who what a Johnny Bravo is or a Courage the Cowardly Dog, and they'll look at you funny. Compare that to Nick, where even the most casual of casuals would know who Spongebob is, or who Dora is, or have an idea of what the Fairly Odd Parents are.

Made worse by their attempts to bring back a beloved property from their highest and most beloved era, being fucking dogshit, as seen in PPG2016

And it's not like they couldn't capitalize on this if they really tried. It says a lot when the series that aired on the same network, during the same era at the height of its popularity and still to this remain popular, weren't owned by CN.

It certainly doesn't help when CN itself these days treats its own properties as disposable fodder destined to be buried by TTG, a show that never needed exposure due to it be fucking DC.

Even now, AT is slowly starting to fade from the public consciousness after its ended and eventually SU will too once it fully ends.

That is why this hotel was never going to make it even if it was made, nobody cares enough to sleep in a bed shaped like Finn's head when they can barely remember who Finn even is.

OH NO NO NO NO NO NO

Even if it never opens they already have a hotel in Thailand or somewhere that opened

What, they tried to make a hotel? Why?

From what I can gather, it just boiled down to a smaller hotel in the middle of an area with a lot of competition needing a gimmick, so they made a licensing deal with Cartoon Network.
