Why were there such long hiatuses between episodes?

It took over 4 years to put out 2 seasons.

Disney wanted more

It was a time before the binge strategy of releasing everything at once. Back then they liked drawing it out
SU is really the only cartoon released like this left

The show was shit anyways.

Because Disney sucked

every show that came out from 2000 to like 2015 was like that. released in dribs and drabs.

remember battlestar galactica? there were mid-season hiatuses so long that they actually called part of it "season 2.5" or something like that.

if they ever deign to grace the barbaric wasteland of the United States with an official Three Caballeros release, or if the rumored Oswald cartoon was indeed produced to completion years ago, then how long do you think they'll drag their feet before producing any "season 2" of either of them?

Hirsch is a hack

It took Planet Sheen 3 years to put out 1 season of 26 episodes

Irrelevant to the question.

The show was a hit, but Disney knew they weren’t going to have a lot of episodes made.
Not wanting to burn through a hit show, they stretched it out as far as the fans could stand it.

I remember reading that Disney XD wanted to space out some of the last episodes to build them up as important episodes, due to it's somewhat serialized nature.

The hacklett was too busy getting drunk, fucking co-workers, and posting Twitter rants about every political thing he didn't like.

Rick & Morty & Venture Bros had even longer hiatuses. You don’t gave to invent conspiracies to explain that some animated shows just take longer to produce than others.

The VB guys have said they simply take long breaks from actually working on the show. It's more like a side project for them

Because when you spend most of your waking hours screeching about the latest political news talking point distraction of the week rather than actually doing your job, things tend to get done slowly.

Showrunners aren't in charge of scheduling at Disney.

Quick, respond with a manlet comment to distract from your initial post!

It took Disney about that long just to finish the fourth season of Phineas and Ferb. So it was just their scheduling department at the time being spectacularly awful.

>no Wendy story arc

Booo

>spend most of your waking hours screeching about the latest political news
All he said seemed reasonable and objective. I wouldn't call it screeching.

But those tweets are from today. How are they related to your post?

I'd bet you $100 Alex sexually assaulted someone

I bet you $1000 you've never had sex

Gravity falls was complete before trump became president. Hirsch rarely tweeted about politics then. You don’t have to like his opinions but “HURR DURR THE SHOW WAS SLOW CUZ HE WAS TWEETING ANTI DRUMF REEE” is nonsense

>muh Disney

They were airing Gravity Falls episodes as soon as they were off the presses. Crew members were talking about just finishing the final episode about a month before it actually aired. Let me repeat that: Weirdmageddon part 3 was not even finished when Part 2 had already aired.

>I bet you $1000 you've never had sex
DON'T WORRY, user! I GOT YOU!!!

>back then

I can't believe it's been 20 years since 2016 and I'm still a useless NEET.

You forgot to call him an incel, Alex

What's hilarious is Alex let a political party decide every single viewpoint on issues he has. He has no personal opinions

Back then I remember him tweeting about how much he hated his ex who used to post in Yea Forums and trying to get pitbull (the rapper, not the dog of peace) to talk to him

I'm sure he has problems with many viewpoints but those aren't on the agenda

What makes you think that?

Utterly false. Watch the Gravity Falls DVD commentary, listen to interviews with the voice actors, the writers, the crew- everyone on the crew confirms that there were episodes completed that Disney withheld for strategy purposes for months. Hirsch and Ritter talk about how there was a 6 month hiatus shoved into Season 1 by the executives when episodes were finished that they were blindsided by

I've been following Hirsch on twitter for years. In all that time he never once posted about his ex. Posts a lot about politics though

>source

Alex actually explained this in an AMA between Season 1 & 2 but rage-anons continue to fabricate elaborate fanfics about how Hirsch was too busy raping babies or whatever to air the show

Attached: AMA.png (990x778, 171K)

Wait, THIS is the "insane sjw alcoholic lunatic" that Yea Forums has spent years having a meltdown over? He sounds...reasonable

Have you looked at his twitter like ever?

You havent been following Hirsch very long have you? He's made fun of SJW's before, siding with IAN JQ over how fan artists should be able to draw whatever they want, and criticizes democrats all the time. it sounds like you are projecting

Yes. Very little of it is about cartoons, which is why I don't follow it. His opinions about cartoons however seem professional and reasonable though? I guess I can separate politics from animation but I know Yea Forums can't do that

Not that user, but I actually agree with some of his political tweets.

>2016
The show started in 2012

Sounds like I struck a nerve

Same. I follow both Hirsch and BrainDump (hotdiggettydemon) and find their politics to both be annoying sometimes (even though they're on opposite ends of the political spectrum) but I like their cartoons and jokes and enjoy watching them absolutely roast people sometimes. (I also enjoyed Hirsch's live stream with Rebecca Sugar for the Trevor project because I don't think trans rights should be seen as a political issue)

A small but very vocal group of sad neckbeards on Yea Forums have been atomically assblasted over Hirsch ever since he pranked Yea Forums by faking a leaked spoiler and then laughing about it after the fact.

Some people appreciated the move as being media savvy and moved on with their lives.

Others took it as an egregious insult to their secret club and have stayed mad ever since. They make weekly threads with the same batch of lame talking points even though the show has been over for years. "Hurr Hirsch is short. Huurr he's liberal. Huurrrr he's a jew." Yada yada. It's really sad how little some people have going on in their lives.

Really because I remember the grabbity falls threads having a bunch of twatter caps when he dumped her ass, since she used to post there.

Yeah but he struck a nerve first when he pointed out that you're probably a rapist, Alex.

Even if you agree with him politically he comes off as unhinged in expressing those views

>when Alex keeps replying to himself

I was going to say "like anyone cares", but then you'd just have an obvious comeback.

Hey look, there's one of those sad neckbeards now!

Sorry you're still so mad about how I epicly pranked you and your buddies. I know it must've done quite a number on your self esteem seeing as how you still haven't let it go after all these years. Hope there are no hard feelings little buddy.

>Manlex
>reasonable

Holy shit this is the most cringe I've ever seen. What a spaz, no wonder no one can work with him

Whoa.... a shitty meme from an old TV show with impact font placed over it.
If anything is going to bring a multi million dollar corporation to its knees its that.

t. manl-

Damn it!

Jesus Christ

Clearly didn’t spend very long hunting google for that meme. But his points, that social media is a slot machine, that trump wouldn’t be president without twitter, and that they let David Duke have an account, are all factual. I’ve heard the right rail against twitters rules. Why can’t the left?

>Be some random twitter intern with access to the official account
>a fan of Gravity Falls or possible parent of one
>oh hey Alex hirsch the creator of Gravity Falls tweeted a joke that was utterly unfunny, maybe I will help him save face by chiming in
>get called a nazi supporter and worse than all the other problems in the world including civil warfare, starvation, disease, drug addiction, etc
>get accused of not censoring enough right-wing stuff on one of the biggest left-wing echo chambers on the internet
>all for no raisins

I get the feeling Hirsch is a particularly violent and abrasive type drunk. No wonder he can't hold a steady job or relationship.

>No wonder he can't hold a steady job or relationship.
Doesn't he have a deal with Netflix?

It's not even his politics, it's that it's a fun thread unrelated to anything and he then has a mental breakdown in the comments yelling at people about politics because Twitter shows up to make a joke with him
He isn't mentally stable in the slightest

Yes, he's dating a fellow show creator and Netflix is paying him 10 million dollars A YEAR to make new shows and movies. His life is full chad.

>I don't like Hirsch's politics
>Therefore Hirsch is a...drunk? And must be unemployed? I will certainly not do any googling that might disconfirm this

Lazy lazy bait

Has he even made anything with Netflix?
Does he think he needs to be purged when his revolution comes

>President in charge of the nukes and free world tweets all day all night that twitter and the media are censoring him and are the enemy of the people.

"Cool, based"

>Cartoon creator tweets Twitter sucks once

"INSANE DRUNK LUNATIC!!! REEEEEEE!"

It's been announced that he's EP'ing on a new show created by a former Gravity Falls writer and producing a new show of his own that hasn't been announced yet. It's also been hinted that he's developing a movie as well, it is an "industry overall" deal which means they have him for multiple projects

It was originally supposed to be 3 seasons, but Hirsch got bored and cut it down to 2. This was Disney's most popular animated series, so they dragged that final season out as far as they could.

Every single Trump tweet is evaluated and criticized what the fuck are you on about
Of course we're talking about a cartoon creator here this is a cartoon board

I don't even disagree with Hirsch's political leanings or whatever, and this is STILL the dumbest shit I've ever seen

like if he really wants to TAKE A STAND on this issue then at least get the fuck off Twitter to do it

>the best way to draw attention to your protest of something is to be silent and not engage with it or mention it in any way!

You dont...understand protest, do you?

I do.

I just think it's dumb to simultaneously use his platform for HARD-HITTING POLITICAL PROTEST but also cutesy tumblr-tier jokes. Like, what the fuck kind of replies did he even expect? Yeah that safe tired joke taken entirely in isolation sure inspires me to hate David Duke

And just to clarify a bit more:

I also wouldn't have found his screed against some random intern, probably, quite so stupid if his entire account was devoted to that kind of thing, i.e. protests and politics, rather than occasionally trying to be funny and then flipping out on a dime in response to innocuous advertising bullshit

What a horrible dick. Hes just so fucking unpleasant.

If Dipper and Mabel each had their own Twitter accounts, what would their respective timelines consist of?

Sucking Alex's two-inch dick.

If we're being serious:
Mabel would retweet a shit-ton of the cutesy cosplay, art, and glitter projects and would go for the "cute" angle. She'd also be a normalfag whose favorite shows are Friends and The Office
Dipper would be talking heavily about paranormal mysteries. He might eventually be getting into conspiracy-level stuff. He'd also talk about games

I think Dipper's wouldn't be as conspiracy-laden as you'd think.

I guess you’re free to encourage creators to suck brands dicks like shills. If I had a million followers I’d tell brands to fuck off my TL too

>company that platforms KKK leader David Duke: Good!

>User that tells company to stop platforming David Duke: Bad!

Only on Yea Forums

Lol who gives a fuck about David Duke, aside from boomers and butthurt jews like Alex. He was a soft-serve white supremacist turned FBI informant who hasn't done shit in forever. I don't think banning Duke would make all the evil no-cartoon-having internet nazis with anime avatars that haunt Alex in his sleep go away.

His twitter is already an echo chamber for him to bounce cringey snarky shit like off of his retarded zoomer followers to get his daily dose of peer sanctification, and he blocks anyone who tells him otherwise, what more does he want?

>White supremacy good. Jews bad

4chans gonna Yea Forums

“being a literal nazi is fine but getting upset about nazis is a dick move”

Nice peanut gallery posting, Alex.

Attached: Manlet BTFO.png (612x1320, 609K)

I didn't say he should suck their dick. I feel he should've made it a separate post or did it in a different format (not replying to, again, some random intern who won't even give a shit), because the schizophrenic tone shift from "corny tumblr teen joke" to RAGE AGAINST DAVID DUKE is the stupidest fucking thing ever

I also feel he's kinda implicitly sucking Twitter's dick already by using and being on it what feels like ALL THE FUCKING TIME, and unless he's getting paid by the tweet or something it's hardly sticking it to the man or whatever he thinks he's doing

kek

No one is criticizing him for hating David Duke and you autists know this

I think 2016 was when the show ended

Maybe he retweets puzzles or fun facts.

The animation looked Ufotable/KyoAni tier. kinda not surprised about the hiatuses if the series looked that good.

VB is the only show where you can see the benefit of the wait, both animation and writing wise

Reminder: four years to release forty episodes.
