Netflix adaption of the comic
JUPITER'S LEGACY Set Photos
What the fuck already? also Is that Dwight from the office?
Should I read the comics. Never heard of them before but just wondering if it's like The Boys where the comics were shit but the show was really good.
So not only are we inundated with cape adaptations we're also getting more and more live action parodies and deconstructions too?
I completely forgot they bought the rights to Millarworld stuff.
Pretty sure its Josh Duhamel
only for the great Quitely art. Millar is pretty much guaranteed a writer with no substance under his belt. Don't go in expecting anything other than a dumb cape comic.
Where the fuck is the Nemesis movie?
>Where the fuck is the Nemesis movie?
In hell where it belongs.
Nemesis is all around embarassing, doubt that even if a screenwriter tries to make it deadpool 2 it could work.
>Where the fuck is the Nemesis movie?
I hope that shit never sees the light of day.
Is this the one where aliens made a bunch of people super in the past, and now their children are also super, but aslo spoiled cunts who don't do any actual superheroing? Or am I thinking of something else?
I know its bad, and it'd be bad, but I love trainwrecks
I don't even consider it a trainwreck, it was just garbage and I wanted my time back.
And even if by some miracle it gets an adaptation, they're going to cut some shit like "your gay son impregnated your daughter and if you try to abort it she will never have kids again".
Jesus Christ, who approved this garbage?
Nemesis is probably gonna get the Wanted movie treatment. They'll keep it in name only then just change the plot entirely.
The fuck? They're doing a show about this?
It was alright, I liked Jupiter's Circle better.
what's the point? The name alone isn't a draw among casuals
I cannot believe how absolutely fucking awful that movie was. Possibly the worst movie I've ever sat through along with American Assassin.
But it's part of a brand, that has to hold some weight.
Tried reading the comic. Barely remember it.
yea like to the comic crowd and even among them its a minority. They didn't even market Wanted as "based on the graphic novel" or anything
I wish for Wanted they did keep the supervillains taking over thing but it's not like the movie or comic are all that great. Alot of Miller comics just fall into 'HEY YOU REMEMBER THAT WEIRD THING THEY DID' for alot of them.
What the fuck is the Kingsman comic even like? I hear people say the movie is way different from it.
>not raceswapped
Fake.
It's fascinating how a by the numbers writer managed to get his stuff adapted. I envy him in that he can go through with his bullet points approach to storytelling.
Fuck Nemesis when's Starlight?
ikr
No. It's pretty bad. All it does is hit the same edgy beats of Millar's Authority run which was ten years outdated by that point
>Costumes are comic accurate, the production aren't afraid to admit it's comic book origins.
Well this is refreshing, take note Marvel TV.
Looks terrible.
Yes
>dumb cape comics
What a dumb opinion. Its rather basic plot but very good written and eurocomic executed.
Looks nice. I like that it gets an adaptation, but everyone jumps on the cape train.
And prove me wrong but it seems that capes that is more grim and edgy brutal is their favourite stuff.
Watchmen, happy, the boys. It seems it needs various checkmarks to get an adaptations.
Audiences love it when people shit on DC so why shouldn't studios capitalize on that? Hell I won't be surprised if WB themselves get on it in a few years after everyone has gotten sick of it
Parodies? Thats more like quips and Lulz-Action. And this is what made Tarantino famous. Its funny and easy to remember or to quote.
And its less deconstruction but subversions. Blame Watchmen and Darkknight, Tim Burtons Batman. Or blame Games of Thrones. Its more like "This ip but more reality like". People like it when its more grounded in our reality or look more real. Thats why MCU has tacticool costume, thats why StarTrek has this techlook and nu-wars looks so boring. People want fantasy but it need to be looking normal, because they are not kids!
Is this Red Son Millar or Kick-Ass 2 Millar?
Will they include the Mark miller and Morrison arguement thinly veiled as father/son.
Millar's work taps into undercurrents sodachugging general audiences love, and he's got the track record to prove it.
Red son.
>Netflix Original
>Mark Millar
>Netflix
Where the hell is my 100 Bullets tv adaptation?
I know Jupiter's Circle isn't as long so I kinda hope they do relevant flashback segments to fill in some details.
did this ever get more then 2 volumes?
Millar is just the 21st century equivalent of say, Rob Liefeld or Cannon movies in the 80s. They aren't good, but they are so completely tied to the current weltanschauung that they will succeed until something new comes up that's even more in tune with people's fears and desires.
What even is this? I've never seen it before. Old Superman expy?
No.
Man, it's weird that every comic property is becoming a movie/show now.
fuck off retard. go watch more of Seth Rogen's pee pee poo poo movies.
>now
They're also making an anime out of Supercrooks. Bones is animating.
Ok, guys. So we have Mbrella academy, the Boys, Doom patrol and in some form Titans. How do you think do we have enough of superhero genre dissection, as capeshit movies aren't cool anymore?
Who is this?
is she ok?
You dense? He is more of a Tarantino or Tom Clancy. Or Ditko in comic terms.
They are desperate to get new stuff. They have nearly all novels adapted, that is more than just drama/slice of life.
People are still weirdly salty about Millar?
Just you wait.
Ever notice that films that deconstruct superhero's tend to have more accurate costumes than the average capefilm
True
It’s by far the most well written Miller book. It’s him doing his damndest to right a Morrison or Ellis book. He fails obviously but it’s still one of his highlights.
Not him but are you talking about all of the Jupiterverse or specifically Legacy.
Because I read Circle for the Quitely art and want to know if Legacy is still good without it.
>more Millar shit
pass
Have they started on the 4th book yet?
>Morrisonfags discount Millar even though they can't read or write
i'm gonna take a dump in your peehole
Thats right. And the uncle or whatever takes over the world with the help of the drug addict son while the daughter stops being a cunt and goes into hiding.
Millar hasn't written a single good book in his life and Jupiter's Legacy has some of the most boring and generic writing I've ever seen relative to its success.
who would play nemesis?
totally
don't you see?
It's literally just Flash Gordon: The Twilight Years.
Michael Fassbender has the jaw and smug cunt enough voice/persona.
so macavoy plays the cop then for maxium poetry?
user no, fucking shut your mouth. Millar is the bottom of the fucking barrel. If you like his drek then you take your lumps from anyone who feels like giving them. Even from the Morrisonfags. THAT is the shit you've earned for yourself.
WHERE IS MY STARLIGHT SEQUEL, MILLAR!!!!
>non-marvel super hero
Hard pass
Is Huck next?
>It’s by far the most well written Miller book
you fucker have not read any other book by Millar besides Nemesis if you think so
Superior, Super Crooks, Superman Red Son, Superman Adventures... uh... I'm starting to see a pattern here.
I found the entire Jupiterverse fun and engaging. The prequel series is Miller at his best and the sequel series felt like Millar honing his edgy Millar-ness into something good. Not great, not perfect, but I liked it. Bet you five bucks the Tv show is better.
I didn’t like Superior that much, Super Crooks is def better I don’t know what I was thinking, and I meant for more his original shit not his DC stuff.
Speaking of Wanted, doesn't Millar have his own universe? Was Nemesis sanctioned by the Fraternity? Do they just allow Kick-Ass to run around because they think he's funny?
those are some hard nips...
>Was Nemesis sanctioned by the Fraternity
I always figured the guy you see at the end of a member of the Fraternity, after the events of Wanted whereupon because a lot of villains are dead, things are much more lax. So if you can afford it, the Fraternity can build you a super villain to wreck havoc for a few years before they are killed.
