The problem is the world of Harry Potter is ALSO the "real" world, or at least an equivalent. A cement and fish slurry is half cohesive. The other half is fish.

I get that it was a stylistic choice. You'd basically have to go out of your way to fail at world building that badly when working with a real world analogue. But even elements of the wizarding world don't really jive. The time-turner is probably the biggest example of a massive fuck up on the part of world building. Casual time travel is not a thing anyone should ever let into their world. I've seen it work fucking once and the world building in that case was batshit. Ghosts are another example of shit that should be used sparingly for serious storytelling.

The only thing Merula and Draco have in common is "smug slytherin" Past that they're nothing alike. I'd say in the second book, Harry shows outright disdain for her after learning that her remarks to Hermione were racist. Then in the third book she seems to try and grow as a person.

She approaches buckbeak to impress Harry, then when she gets hurt her father has the beast killed despite her protests (she knows that would only make Harry hate her more)

in book five she helps Dumbkedore's army, but doesn't go with them during the final battle because she knows she'd face her dad, and she hasn't grown that far from him.

Then at the start of 6 she's acting super cold to Harry and company. Like she used to back in books 1 and 2. This fuels Harry's obsession to find out what was wrong with her. At the climax, she reveals to Dumbledore that she has to kill him or Moldy Wart will kill her and her family.

Basically, having her grow close to Harry makes her arc in book 6 more emotionally impactful

Comics don’t give either. They don’t have anything to add.
They don’t have the space for such luscious flavor text without bitchy manchildren screaming WORDSWORDSWORDS on Taiwanese Manga Chatrooms, and very few artists can provide a level of detail to match the presentation of the movies.

I actually think it was suppose to be the opposite and how their timeline is fixed. The events ran exactly how it did the first time. e.g. Harry gets hit by a rock in the exact same way as before, Hermione accidentally breaks one of Hagrid's pots same way without meaning to. Or Hermione makes those howl noises without really thinking and not purposefully trying to play the events out like they did before.

Why would the timeline change? It's hours between Buckbeak "Dying" and when they use the time turners. They don't actually change time, they just send you back in it to do things that already happened.

They THINK Buckbeak dies, but in reality the headsman is just venting his anger from them rescuing it by chopping something else and everything else was directly caused by their time traveling selves.

It's the kind of time travel where you can interact with the world, but only how you were already destined to have done.

Idk. Rewatching the part where they go back in time, Dumbledore says that time is dangerous when meddled with, that Hermione has laws to follow, and that if they fuck things up the consequences would be "too ghastly to discuss".

As far as how far one can turn back time, we don't really know. All we know is that three turns takes them back from whatever time of the night it was to 7:30 in the morning. We don't know if there's a limit to the number of turns you can wind it back to or the span of time that a turn covers.

All three of the trio are described as going "white faced" when panicked. This an expression used by white people to describe what happens to fair skin. Would you ever describe a dark person as going white-faced? Same with "red-faced", which she is also described going.
Furthermore, when Fred and George's prank telescope gave her a black eye, she was described as looking like "half-a-panda", as in, white with one black eye.
There are hundreds of implications that she is fair skinned and the only instance of her implied to be dark is when in book 3 she is described from a distance as "very brown", which is almost definitely because her hair takes most of her silhouette.
No one reading the books thought she was black/indian/not white, and people who try to say she is now are woke keyboard warriors wanting brownie points.
