K2 seemingly got a soul just from being reprogrammed, Lando was all but shown fucking L3 who seems to have gotten her personality just from not being routinely memory wiped and whose soul might very well be I have No Mouth and I Must Scream status in the Falcon

This Battle Droids are far more interesting than generic human soldiers

They seem fairly un-agile and the guy was shooting at it right on what looked like an armor plate with a pretty dinky little pistol
That slow moving they'd probably get out maneuvered by clones and shot where it's actually important
Droidekas serve pretty much the same function but can cover all of their angles with a shield and properly haul ass when needed to, all while providing a significantly smaller target

It is honestly amazing just how badly they fucked things up to the point where in less of a decade SW went from a massive phenomenon with things that could satisfy both lorefags/autists and casual normies to something that has become a joke that no one takes seriously anymore, with billions being poured in and an already well established universe that got gutted from the mouse. For a time I didn’t even think such a thing was possible, yet here we are.

Most fantasy movies are great because you get dropped into a world you know nothing about. As the movie goes on you learn the rules.

Prequel and Reboots keep changing the rules which loses lorefags and Autist. Also the frequency these movies are pumped out you lose the significance of the event which loses casual fans.

It's a problem that's become pretty common with modern FPS's. Either less maps or more, smaller maps that are largely repainted cut/pastes of the same designs with some bits and bobs swapped around

Inferno Squad tries so hard to do the strong female protagonist pitch that it makes Iden this "cannot do any wrong" character that just doesn't work. The entire book is an infiltration mission and it jst spends so much time wanking how Iden is "the best" and that she's "loyal to the Empire" even when the end of the book says she's having doubts but still firmly imperial
The only likable character in that book is Syn. It's not a good sign when you're job is to push this new main heroine and she's just so boring that one of her squadmates is more interesting. But I get that. You don't want to tell too much because the game will soon launch and you'll get to know her more in the game
And then the game comes out

I don't really count MMO's (Galaxies/SWTOR) or Lego games. Lego games in particular all feel the same to me.

Obviously the KOTOR games are great though. Those were some great years for SW fans.
Even the SW Legacy comics with Cade were pretty decent.

I think Rogue One is a pretty bad film. Bad acting, writing, dialogue. But visually, it has some nice set-pieces in it especially towards the end. Death Star test fire was beautiful too. I understand the film mostly milks nostalgia value though.

Well -I- liked Jedi Starfighter

I don't like any of it but I have to say that the flametrooper design is near perfect and should have been the baseline design for FO stormtroopers. Especially since they're going for soldiers who are brainwashed from birth, what with the narrow visor and small 'mouth'.

It looks so much better than the mascara mess stormtrooper helmet design.
