This is no way to end the story. As far as I see, Superman's ending is the cannonical one, because it proves the "curse" of this reality continues and the conflict won't stop.
Therefore, this story should have ended in a way that the Insurgents never came to Eternia, saving the victims of this story. So, Superman will still be in charge and the conflict will continue.
Besides, the videogame was supposed to mean Superman created a "Legion of SUperheroes" with the trapped cities of Braniac. So, where the blazes were these cities and survivors?

No, no it doesn't. Not in this case, because she helped to start all over this nightmare. She has a daughter, and yet, she had no remorse in killing Lois and her unborn child back in the moment.
Poetic justice would be, if Superman knew about this, he will force Harley to kill her own daughter to make her feel how Superman has been feeling for years.

This could be the best version of a DC Universe. A version that included MOTU and Thundercats (since this crossover is a sequel to the He-Man/Thundercats one).

I read the DC He-Man comics (but not crossovers) earlier this year and kind of liked them. Schlocky sci-fantasy fun. I just find their darker elements a little weird. Like, I guess the bird people were wiped out in this story? And the last volume of the He-Man sees literally trillions of people killed. Wouldn't mind if things were a little more happy-go-lucky.

I kind of agree. I wouldn't want the series completely neutered, but He-Man is not Conan. It's a softer, Saturday morning equivalent with lots of sci-fi thrown in.
Like, just looking at this crossover, as you say, there was no need to wipe out the bird people, and that scene with Kara and Two-Bad was a little much...but that said, I was fine with what happened to Damian and Diana since you do need SOME stakes, and Skeletor's fate was also kind of necessary if for no other reason than to drive home why Superman needed to be stopped, because honestly, up until that point, I could very easily have seen him redeeming himself and becoming proper Superman again.
