Who are these dweebs who actually enjoy writing "video essays" or "reviews" about cartoons and who is "the big one" they're all trying to imitate? Why are there so many of these videos on youtube? Where did they all come from? Do people actually enjoy watching these? How do so many of these videos stay up and monetized when they literally just summarize whatever is happening on the screen without any real insight on anything? I fell asleep watching one of these with autoplay on and now my youtube recommended section is full of this dreck.
I honestly make them because they help me organize my thoughts on a certain show and it allows me to be autistic and gush about a show I like while earning a decent amount of money because of the ads I can shove inside of it.
>Who are these dweebs who actually enjoy writing "video essays" or "reviews" about cartoons and who is "the big one" they're all trying to imitate? these people make this stuff because there's a huge audience of kids who see youtube as entertainment, so that gives these boring people an opportunity to surmise their opinions on things they can actually talk about. like instead of studying something worthwhile it's all about playing up the massive importance that these cartoons shaped the youth of the last 20 years. it's all a bunch of hype that's overly analyzed
yeah i don't like it much either

Most of these videos aren't good. Youtubers don't care about making interesting takes, or provide anything new to the table. It's all about presentation and if the topic is fresh.

>Youtubers can't make interesting takes FTFY
David Robinson
>take a plinkett review >remove all the absurdity and weird humor >talk about some cartoon for babies >upload to YouTube and act smug
Matthew Garcia
To be fair, the current system in place discourages taking interesting takes, lest you get a mod against you or the algorythm hides your or outright shadow-bans you. To this day, idubbz remains shadow banned.
Come on user, this shit is older than YouTube. Back in the day sites would have shit like this but in shittier quality to download in .avi, .mov or other similar formats.

Pan, is that you? I know you browse Yea Forums mother fucker.

I imagine the big one is rebeltaxi, the only one I can think of that I like. He usually shows off shit I never heard of. The rest are redditors though, I don't get it either. Once in a while I'll click on one of those ten minute vids titled something like "why spongebob is bad now" and am amazed how much people eat up this circlejerk shit
Henry White
Some of the comic essays are fun. Matt draper's videos manage to be interesting and entertaining.
There's one called Nerdstalgic or something like that who's vids ALWAYS show up for me. Looks like he makes almost daily uploads too. As for who they're trying to copy, maybe Mr. Enter? But without the cynical nature as they tend to talk about shows they love.

I mean it’s something to do with your time.
It’s better than cat fishing Jerry Randolph from Paterson, New Jersey at least.

i appreciate your honesty

I like to put the occasional one on while i work alone at my job, it is less about insight and more about the fact there is a lot of shit and i can feel superior to SHIT OPINIONS or feel validated that someone shares mine about whatever the subject was. I also used to "watch" Thread Simulators before i ran out of good ones.
Anyway, you should be able to clear watch and search history and get rid of it, just be sure to rewatch shit you DID like in the past to set the Algorithm back (IIRC it adds when the video finishes so load skip a few seconds to the end and let it finish if you don't want to rewatch) and possible pause Search/Watch history while you are at it, i never watch this shit with that on because even ONE will fuck up your algorithm pretty badly, honestly that shit is way to volatile in general, also changed every 6 months, so that's nice.
Seriously though, there is some entertaining cringe out there. My keyword when searching is generally "Analysis" and "Longform Analysis" because that way you get a hefty length and you often get more Pseudo-Intellectalism where straws are grasped as opposed to "Reviews" being pretty barebones.
TL;DR: Background Noise, Low-Key Lolcow Watching and Ego-stroking.

Do you really earn money just buy putting ads in your videos?
