I hardly give a shit about Steven anymore.

Wait... are they marathoning the whole series??

Yes.

Fuck Cartoon Network. I know they won’t air Season 1 in the correct order.

If you were to remove all townie episodes, how many relevant episodes would there be?

Dudes, this is not a religion. You don't have to care, just enjoy it, and if you don't enjoy it - there is so much else to choose from.

Fifty-three

Attached: A3DA22E7-48FD-48E0-93D1-524B14608902.png (1920x1080, 961K)

There's 10 townie episodes in S1 (since it's a standard 52 episode season) and five/six per season after. They're really not that prevalent although I would prefer more gem/human stuff from now on.

>this is not a religion

Attached: 56B29D41-FF35-4399-A46F-FB8CF1587A6E.png (978x550, 337K)

This is pushing it.

Attached: Episodes.jpg (500x520, 75K)

I swear to god there were more.

Will be interesting to see how this effects ratings for the movie. At least they're going all out for the thing instead of leaving it to die (although any other day than Monday would've helped). Still, beggars can't be choosers.

Hiatuses make it seem worse than it actually is. It got really bad during the start of S4.

...Damn. Good point.

That brings to mind...

I was in that thread, that was awesome

Believe IN Steven, not Believe Steven. One is having faith in a person and the other is religious reverence.

I will never not believe in Steven

What makes Tiger Millionaire a townie episode?

The large number of townies it involves.

>’Waaaahhh, these episodes aren’t RELEVANT because they aren’t LORE-HEAVY!!’
Shut the fuck up. The “Townie” episodes are still very much relevant to the series’s identity. Part of what Sucrose wanted to do was show the beauty of regular life on Earth. That’s why she coined the term “Reverse Escapism” to describe SU.

Not every episode HAS to be about Gem lore. The Crewniverse wanted to give us some breathers that were just fun, essentially standalone episodes that still provided some worldbuilding and introduced the human characters who Steven would come to interact with more and more as the show goes on.

The show is told through Steven’s POV, so we’re supposed to see both sides of his life: his Gem side and his Human side. It’s episodes like “Frybo” or “Joking Victim” that help show the beauty in the mundane, while still giving us universal morals familial relationships, romantic relationships, and friendships.

Attached: Mean Creek.jpg (1280x720, 75K)

Sauce on the pic?
Chubby shota Steven is best chubby shota

but what about the townie episodes that suck

It revolves around Steven and Amethyst. A townie episode focuses on a townie

I do agree that the later episodes should've stuck with the mix of stuff, but I still love the characters themselves.

You got it a bit backwards there, mate. If you "believe" someone that just means you trust their word, and while "believe in" means what you say, it also has a reverential connotation because of phrases like "I believe in God."

Well I'm gonna believe in him anyway. He's a good lad.

I can admit that there were some episodes I didn’t find very interesting, but that’s really up to each viewer. Different strokes for different folks and whatnot.

Still doesn’t make a subjectively boring episode irrelevant, though.

Attached: That’s just, like, your opinion, man.jpg (1280x720, 100K)

>how this effects ratings

Attached: atrocious grammar.png (449x401, 490K)

You're describing S1 episodes. Back when corrupted gems were still a thing and most townie episodes involved both human and gem characters interacting with and reacting to bizarre problems caused by magic bullshit.

Most of those episodes were fine and even well liked at the time. What people got sick of were the townie episodes from AFTER the show dropped the corrupted gem plot (probably the worst mistake the writers ever made). Because then they started pumping out trash like Onion Gang. The mystical and the mundane became separate, and never the twain did meet again. By extension, Steven became a character who shifted between two worlds, rather than one who explored both at once.

Do you honestly think the show didn't suffer for that choice?

Be nice user, I am retarded.

Is he? How can you be sure? Every challenge he's ever faced was designed for him to overcome with only minimal effort. Seems like he never left that pussified training course.

I've said it before, but I'll say it again:
The distinction between plot/gem episodes and filler/townie episodes is arbitrary and vague at best, completely pointless at worst.
There are many episodes in the series which are townie-focused, but contribute to the core plot nonetheless, as well as gem-focused episodes which don't have much to do with the core plot at all.
My favorite case study is probably Mr. Greg, which I'm pretty sure most people would consider an essential watch, and yet, when you think about it - it contributes NOTHING to the overarching plot, exclusively concerns interpersonal relationships, and has very little importance down the line, as far as topping diamonds and resolving rose's conspiracy is concerned.

He's lost multiple times user. Kid has PTSD, there was a whole episode about it.

It has good songs. That's it.

Tbf PTSD is thrown around like candy in SU and other shows Sucrose has worked on. Finn suffered a whole lot more on Sucrose’s watch, same with her Pug Davis comic, and even her Invader Zim/Ed, Edd, Eddy fanfic porn had characters getting PTSD. The problem is that compared to everything else she’s worked on, Steven is just a pampered brat since he never “loses” as he always gets what he wants by crying and throwing a tantrum like his mother PD/Rose. He doesn’t have any lasting repercussions for anything unlike everyone/everything else in the SU world or Sucrose’s other works. Put him through half the shit Finn or her Zim fanfic did and he’d crack like a rotten runny egg since he’d have to realize crying and getting everyone to do your dirty work doesn’t work all the time.

Attached: 050F98AD-3F4E-44F2-A1A3-BF6FE428675C.gif (369x345, 98K)

Yeah, I think stripping the Townie stories of any magical/Gem elements took a toll on many fans’ enjoyment of those episodes. “Onion Gang” is one example, but I don’t think it’s a good representative of the show’s later Townie episodes since we can all agree it was the lowest point; Yea Forums just loves to use it to shit on the show in general.

That being said, some magic-less Townie episodes can still be entertaining or interesting on an emotional level, to me at least. I’ve always loved the Lars/Sadie episodes, so I would’ve enjoyed “The Good Lars” even if it hadn’t been part of the Wanted arc.

I wanna fuck Pearl

Would you lick Pearl's pearl?

Attached: 1_mVWcWlBYp0e2Zj_zWbzNLQ-1210x642.jpg (1210x642, 60K)

The Good Lars is probably my favorite townie episode. Tied with Kevin Party at least.

The cast fucks off to a wrestling ring and it becomes some kind of wrestling drama. It's the complete opposite of plot-relevant.

Townie episodes SUCK
And if you like them, YOU SUCK

Plot relevant episode =/= townie episode. Would you call most of Peridot's arc townie episodes? They don't progress the plot until the drill is done.

It's a townie episode with a lot of the usual players user. Peridot episodes are about developing her.

What do you think Tiger Millionaire is about exactly? It's an Amethyst and Steven story to which Tiger Philantropist is the sequel. Just because Amethyst is in Joking Victim doesn't make it a gem-centric episode, nor does townie characters being in Too Short to Ride make it a townie episode. Townie episodes explicitly revolve around one townie character like Rockaldo, or The Big Show.

This is the only Steven I believe in.

Attached: infinite_sge-profile_image-4806ebb39e05cb40-300x300.jpg (300x300, 19K)

How will they manage to clear 5 whole hours from their schedule?

>Let's air ALL our Steven Universe Episodes at the same time
>Won't people notice the severe drop in quality in both writing and art after season 1?
>N'aaaaaaaaaaah

And Tiger Millionaire develops Amethyst.

It just sucks when the youth get corrupted by degeneracy from all sides.

Most people aren't gen wunners user. Normies don't hold the series to arbitrary standards.

And they're right to do so, since the peak of SU might be in S1 with Jailbreak but the best individual episodes and arcs come afterwards

>drop in quality in both writing and art after season 1
I love “Jailbreak” as much as the next guy, but you’re just talking out of your ass.

Attached: 3D7DE1C4-5989-475D-84CF-145FF3E62D61.jpg (1280x1321, 411K)

No, that would be Reformed.

They're both episodes that develop Amethyst.

Wrestling fetish is dumb and not a development or worthwhile information about her

>Not an argument

"No!"

Steven vs. Amethyst is also a better one. It details her insecurities following the truth; that she is in fact, a defect. Her body was not formed properly and in the end, she can acquiesce knowing Steven is much the same, and not only that but worse. It's the only episode that she officially moves past her insecurities, despite the numerous annoying ones that show them resurfacing.

Insecurities resurfacing until you pinpoint confront the actual problem is how character development works, both IRL and in media. I don't see why Tiger Millionaire is somehow a townie episode because it has townies in it. That's like saying a sunny day isn't sunny because there's clouds in the sky.

*pinpoint and confront

I would lick every part of Pearl if given the chance.

Besides, we all know lads of the stars was the worst episode

>”Say Uncle,” the episode in which Steven learns to successfully summon his shield, is not relevant
Bullshit. The crossover is definitely canon and chronologically takes place before the events of "The Return"/"Jailbreak" despite being produced as a Season 2 episode. Why else would the Crewniverse go out of their way to give Garnet her pre-reformation design?

This order of events is why Steven was able to protect his fellow Crystal Gems against the Hand Ship’s blast. “Say Uncle” is unironically one of the show’s most crucial episodes.

Attached: 16A0E1F0-B985-4810-AB50-1C07FD35F963.jpg (1260x765, 399K)

Steven learned to summon his shield in Ocean Gem. Say Uncle doesn't come until like 30-40 episodes later.

Yes, user. We can all agree it was dumb that Captain Lars reverted back into jealous bitchboy mode the moment he learned that Sadie was doing well without him, but that shouldn’t be enough to call it “the worst episode.” Neither should the fact that Lauren Zuke boarded on it.

Steven and Connie’s explanation that Life Goes On and their encouragement for Lars aid his Off Colors was a great scene. And all the spaceship action that the show had been skimping on was well worth the wait.

Quit shitposting, user. “Onion Gang” was the worst episode.

Attached: 7C3A8818-8025-4720-8503-8A263B54723A.png (1920x1080, 1.62M)

Are we still talking about alien gems or have we moved on to fire arms?

Bitch, I will cut you -

I'm glad that Lars relapsed tbqh. Anything else would've been too easy, too neat. He's still growing as a person even if he'll never really age properly again and the fact the next time we see him in Letters to Lars and he's genuinely happy about Sadie doing well is so good. Underrated episode honestly, fun townie stuff that includes the gems.

Man, you know the first season was something else when you feel genuinely sad that some of those episodes got crossed.

...

Since you seem to be a little on the sane side, mind to explain to me what makes Lars appealing as a character? I've always found him to be the embodiment of the whole "guy wants to have friends (but only cool ones, though), but turns out his true friends were around him all along!" except that the Cool Kids are a different kind of shallow than the Rich Dick trope and that Lars never learns hia lesson on-screen (if at all). Is it like one of those thing that one can only enjoy if they see themselves on the character or what? Enlighten me please, user.

Why the fuck would this fat spoiled shit have PTSD? Because his garbage breakfast turned into a monster that one time? Because they stopped selling his favorite ice cream?

I once knew a Vietnam vet who had to kill kids. That guy had PTSD. What Steven has is called being a fucking fatty and Trump needs to build a wall around that shit instead of video games.

...

Nice blog, faggot. Take it to /pol/ next time.

I think I would go with something like this.

>”The Test” isn’t critical

Anyone /comfy/ with the hour of SU airing on CN?

Attached: 20190810_190749.jpg (2560x1440, 1.12M)

Post rare Stevens.

I actually meant to put a blue dot next to it. I still don't think it's critical. It's a fine episode and I'm a sucker for the NGE ending but I don't think it's completely critical to the story but really people should just watch every episode.

This. At least you can give an informed opinion that way.

Nah, not on UK CN unfortunately. Nice to them to actually bother with themed re-run blocks on the run up to the marathon and the movie though. Makes it feel extra special.

Mao Mao and Infinity Train will still be alive, so everything's fine.

not really, if wasting my time watching cartoons has taught me anything about how channels plan shit out there's already multiple shows being produced that we don't even have knowledge of. besides well probably end up seeing hints at them at the start of the new year.

Honey, Infinity Train is a miniseries.

How did Summer Camp Island manage to have the lamest logo possible?

>"Infinity Train will return"
>this doesn't mean it was renewed unless there is a magical article that explicitly says it was renewed

Is Craig of the Creek any good? I saw the first couple episodes and it just seemed like black Clarence

Rate the logo's

Not him, but I keep hearing good things about it's. It's just one of those shows that keeps to itself and doesn't bother trying to be grand or anything.

kino logos:

good style logos:

>Infinity Train
>̶O̶K̶ ̶K̶O̶
okay logos:

>Craig of the Creek

>Tig and Seek
>Apple & Onion
into the trash it goes:

>Tig n’ Seek and Apple & Onion have shit logos because I personally don’t like the shows
Miss me with that bullshit. Pretty much every logo aside from SCI’s looks fantastic.

It’s pretty solid. I def recommend

Attached: 14DBE2AE-26E0-4813-8E4F-3F57ADCF847F.png (1600x900, 944K)

I like how stylized those designs behind JP’s head look. Did any of those kids make it into the final show?

Dude, I haven't seen either. I rated them by their logo designs.

I think it's alright and didn't like Clarence.

A logo is like a main title: both should be able to effectively give you an idea of the show its representing, while also looking unique and eye-catching.

Apple & Onion is literally about its two titular characters, and the logo perfectly shows that by personifying each name to its respective protagonist. And say what you will about the show, but I can admit that it has a god-tier theme song: youtube.com/watch?v=1A9YzON11nw

Tig n’ Seek seems like it’ll be a fun and surreal cartoon, which the logo clearly shows through the use of bold, colorful letters. It’s also a big step up from the one used for the pilot.

Both A&O and TnS’s logos are also just very pleasing to the eyes. You could argue that Summer Camp Island’s is supposed to give off that “kid’s notebook doodle” look, but that doesn’t help to make it very interesting.

> episode order lists, in this thread

chronological scene remix supercut, when?

I know cable is dead, but I'm surprised CN is willing to not air Teen Titans Go and Gumball for a few days. How long has it been since this happened?

Probably because it's premiering in 2020. There's a pilot out on YouTube though.

It has a very Uncle Grandpa feel to it.

It must be tougher for you, Lars...

AT LEAST PEOPLE LIKE JOKES!

Attached: 2013 was a simpler time.png (875x480, 357K)

Uncle Grandpa said it wasn't canon tho, in the episode

>The Crewniverse wanted to give us some breathers that were just fun
Too bad they forget the fun part and just made episodes about black pizza girl stressing about her part time job or fat donut girl stressing about singing in public.

Some Townie episodes could be comedies, and others could be emotional character-based stories.

Fuck you for shitting on "Kiki's Pizza Delivery Service."

Attached: ngl, pizza sounds pretty good right about now.png (1920x1080, 1.43M)

That was just to appease the masses unfamiliar with Uncle Grandpa's insanity.

Ian still counts "Say Uncle" as an episode meant to be viewed before the Season 1 finale, and Garnet still had her old design even though this crossover was produced as part of Season 2.

It's canon. Whether you like it or not, Mr. Gus is a major reason why Steven was able to hone his shield-summoning ability.

I'm gonna post something reeeeal controversial...

>Why the fuck would this fat spoiled shit have PTSD? Because his garbage breakfast turned into a monster that one time?

Because his entire life, from the day he was born, has been like that. His mother died giving birth to him. He's raised by three warriors who have none of the instincts a human mother does, and whom by their very nature attract horrifying monsters.

That's pretty hard on a human child.

Me too.

It breaks down when you know Lucifer (A Greek translation of the Hebrew Hil'lel) does not and never did refer to ha-Satan, because the rebellion angle did not exist in the Old Testament. It refers to the king of Babylon, who set himself up as a god, but was cast down by Yahweh.

>Who is Kevin?

Nah Kevin is bro-tier now. Or at the very least he's on his way.

Cartoon Network was doomed the day that Teen Titans GO! premiered.

user, TTGo is litterally the only thing keeping CN going.

newfag here. I can only guess the controversy was Yea Forums sperging over those new designs.

Oh shit

The crewniverse sucks at writing then, because i dont give a flying fuck about the human characters who bore me, i only care about the gems.

She's mentally a child as are all the zoomans. Not a good match for him honestly.

No woman can survive the murdercock, he is just protecting them from himself

Ding, ding, ding!

The negative feedback to that redesign announcement became so bad that multiple Crewniverse members had to appease the naysayers and insist that the final show would look great in motion. A lot of complainers also kept spreading rumors that Becky was forced to simplify the designs due to budget reasons, when it was actually her choice all along.

Attached: Proto-Steven.jpg (1080x1920, 373K)

sounds about right. I said I was a newfag (2016), but I got into the show halfway through Season 1a.

>That’s why she coined the term “Reverse Escapism” to describe SU.

Oh please. SJWs have been doing Reverse Escapism fucking forever. It's called propaganda. That's why we get a tranny in the new Rocko's Modern Life and endless threads about it. The idea is to constantly bombard the message they want to push so eventually you just get tired of fighting it. They can't actually change human nature, but that's not going to stop them from trying.

Attached: 1443575271589.jpg (750x800, 292K)

It's almost like people have sincerely held beliefs they put in their work and you're merely the idiot consuming said work and then bitching about it

>They can't actually change human nature,
But user, it's "human nature" to be a tranny or make up genders or be otherkin or whatever other weird thing you can think of. Animals don't do this kind of shit.

If you instead decide you don't want to put up with that shit people go out of their way to try to ruin your life.

Yes, but by "human nature" I meant things like finding healthy people attractive instead of "everyone is beautiful" bullshit. No matter how hard the media tries, a woman with broad shoulders and narrow hips or a morbidly obese woman will never be attractive to the majority of men, only a small deviant minority. You can't overwrite biology with propaganda.

Honestly I’m not surprised that a Steven Universe thread is about to devolve to politics

please tell me they are airing the show in external production order

How am I ever supposed to read this order, left to right first or top to bottom first?

the only surprising thing is that it took this long considering how blatant boxing ring tier shitposters treat this show and anyone who dares say they enjoy thing.
top too bottom left to right

Probably the order it aired on CN originally.

You're all horrible and stupid pieces of shit.
