So, now that two seasons have aired, what does Yea Forums think of this show? Is it better, worse, or the same as the weaker Kung Fu Panda installments like 3 and Legends of Awesomeness.
Kung Fu Panda: The Paws of Destiny
Call it shallow but I HATE fat characters. So having a show centered on an All Fat cast is a huge turn off. I refuse to watch this shit and the only reason I think the Kung Fu Panda movies were tolerable was because of the villains.....except the third film (which also got overwhelmed by Lol Fat People jokes).
Anyway, this series is shit. It's shit. It's shit and yes it's shit. And another thing I'm tired of the Kung Fu Panda whoring. It has two series, a bunch of special shorts and 3 movies (while it seems the original plan is 5 movies total). Enough already. Fucking Dreamworks. When will Dreamworks die? I know they do NOT have Disney Tier money so when will they die?

Even if their movies flop, their TV department seems to be growing. Plus, didn't they get bought by Illumination?
eh i'd say the second season is a little weaker in the villain department, granted it's a setup for season 3's villain so hopefully bat lady is a better villain. overall i really enjoyed myself watching it with some minor complaints, as for where it lands in the kung fu franchise i'd say above 3 between two, and in some respects better than loa, but if you wan't po going on adventures with the furious five then legends is probably more up your ally than paws.
I outright fucking hate kungfu panda's moral and still hate it deeply.
I also outright detest the fact that the pandas are all apparently a genetically superior master race of warriors which hilariously enough spits directly in the fucking face of the utterly motherfucking RETARDED "moral" of the first shitcan movie.
>pandas are all apparently a genetically superior master race of warriors
did you watch paws season 2?
Never watched this show, but it occurs to me that having the white tiger, the dragon, the bird, and the tortoise actually BE the kids instead of them being channeled by panda kids would probably be more creative and keep the cast more varied.
If you're talking about the White Bone Demon, yeah, she was kind of weak, but I hope she gets more active now that she's no longer bound to a giant mech. I thought that Shi Long was cool, though. She had the right amount of a sympathetic background, but was also ruthless enough to be effective. Jindiao was fun, but kind of one-note.
I love that the series thought 3's retcons were kind of bullshit, first by explaining WHY the pandas were inherently good at using chi, and then by making it so all of China can use chi, so the pandas are no longer special.
I hope they got another season or two in the works, at least. Dreamworks shows tend to last quite a while and beyond 26 episodes. I'm guessing they want to have Tigress guest star as well, considering Po's extended reference to her in the latest season.
really hope they expand on the white bone demon as a side effect i imagine we'll get more sun wukong,i had no problem with shi long beyond her motivation being a little iffy, but yeah she was a good sympathetic villain for the series. i like Jin a lot due to the vocal performance and how "alive" he seemed with every action feathers would stand up slightly or lay down, little things like that that convey emotion even without the character even needing to say anything, but yeah jin was one note at the end there.
yeah the explanation felt needed as well as how it was handled i guess. i'm hoping they get at least two more seasons as well, having tigress show up would be a blast.
Probably my favorite thing about this series is how willing it is to dig into more Chinese mythology. Journey to the West, the Four Constellations, etc. I hope they keep it up.
i imagine they'll keep with the trend of utilizing chinese mytho's, it's not something i'm particularly knowledgeable about but learning about it has been fun.
I only watched it for Wing and Wong because I'm all for my gay warthog fetish.
Unfortunately not only are they super unimportant but a lot of people think Wong is a girl because of that stupid pregnant joke. And the fact that Wong never gets referred to with a pronoun shows how unimportant he is.
Gay shit aside, it was a fine show, not amazing but could be a lot worse.
There was way more raunchy humor in season two compared to one.
I suppose.
I do hope for a season 3, if not just so there will be a chance that Wong gets referred to with a fucking pronoun and I can say "I TOLD YOU SO" to some people.
no tigress no sale
Well it’s a Naruto kind of deal.
As long as he doesn’t know he secretly has the best genetics in the world, it’s still okay for him to insist genetics don’t matter
They should have cut the panda village at the end of the second film. It really undermine Shen action and make him look really incompent. Even more stupid with the third movie, where the pandas are jokes but were supposse to believe they survived against Shen and his wolfs. And somehow they never keep themselves ready for an another attack of the sort.
What bothered me about the whole plot in season two is that it had nothing to do with Po or the kids, except maybe the fat kid sort-of dating the princess. At least the main conflict in season one involved the protagonists. This just felt like one of their many assignments they have to resolve.
Secrets of the Furious Five is still not beaten
That rings hollow.
I mean, chi socialism literally happened. He's literally no longer the best, when everyone else also is. Syndrome won.
