Nah, in season 1 they were basically the same character, then season 2 made them different, THEN they gained more similarities as things went on.

Did that whole plot thread ever go anywhere? It seemed like a cool idea to have the show slowly killing off characters that didn't fit in but I stopped watching before it got followed up on.
The show is still very comfy despite the occasionally abrasive self awareness, I'm just not as invested as I used to be.
