Jerry lost every now and then.

Because people think cats are dicks for picking on mice even though that's literally the reason we started keeping them as pets in the first place.

If Tom wins, Jerry is dead and that's a dead end, same with Road Runner and Wil E. Coyote or Bugs and Elmer Fudd

He's a mouse, he probably has a million cousins that could take his place.

People don't want to watch "Tom and Jerry's Cousin".

Half his cousins are called Jerry. It's, like the second most popular name in the mouse community. You can probably guess what the first is. Give you a hint, rhymes with "tricky".

And if Tom dies, it doesn't matter?

He's got nine lives, Jerry has one, and squirrels have as many as they think they can get away with. Kudos if you get what I'm referencing.

Jerry did not always win...

He also loses in MOUSE FOR SALE and HIC-UP PUP.

Also Million Dollar Cat.

So Southbound Duckling didn't happen?

A good number of times it really wasn't about trying to eat him, just bully him
I still remember the Duel episode where Tom won cause declining Jerry challenge to stupid duels and just slapped the fuck out of him.

Mice are disease shitters. Think about that the next time you see turds in the cupboard, Jerry fans
Also we need a deconstruction of of T&J.

>every episode is just a good cat eviscerating another carbon copy of Jerry
Like, I'd watch and enjoy it but I'm a homeowner who's had to deal with a mouse problem, I dunno if it would be as enjoyable for the kids.

I love Gregg

The real reason is that he's the underdog.

When I was kid watching this, there was a point where I started siding with Tom. And Jerry just seemed like a colossal bully.

>Why did the mouse always win?
To make the episodes where Tom wins a lot more special. Most of the episodes lost he had it coming anyway, and the episodes where Jerry is the instigator and wins out in the end are generally not very good to begin with.

I really fucking hate this trend of "rooting for the underdog" shit. At first, it's was fine then everyone went overboard.
