His Daredevil is unassailable to me. Yeah Frank Miller's stuff is the most definitive and the "greatest" but if I had to read only one Daredevil run till I die it's Bendis' run. Fucking thing is just that good. It's also kind of weird comparing it to the Miller stuff because it works as a perfect sequel to it. You read the Miller stuff, then you skip to the Bendis stuff and you don't really feel like you missed a beat.
Daredevil has yet reach the heights of the Bendis stuff. The Brubaker stuff was alright but it was really a retreat of the Bendis stuff's tone, except took less chances with writing and less chances with the artwork, and of course set up a lot of stupid shit like Lady Bullseye and Shadowland and.. ugh. The ending of Bendis' run is the perfect last Daredevil story.
Miles and Jessica Jones suck. The former was only good in movie form because of the Lego movie guys.
His best comics are behind him and he's been coasting on his achievements for the past 15 years.
Alias is terrible. Every story arc involves Jessica getting on the trail of something, then it turns out she's onto something else entirely, then a plot device appears out of nowhere and solves the case for her.
Even the climax, in which she confronts the purple man, is solved by the appearence of jean gray or some other bullshit asspull I can't be bothered to remember
Alias is a mystery series in which the protagonist figures out nothing and never impacts the plot in any way
It only got some recognition at the time for 'mature' and 'realistic' storytelling because bendis dialogue was still a novelty and because jessica gets fucked in the ass

I can't get the author's voice out of my head and let myself enjoy the story. Then I realize everything is a quip, with pages meant to be posted on tumblr or twitter, and that it ultimately acts as nothing but a storyboard for movies/television and I get fatigue.
Basically, Bendis became too powerful for his own good. Can he write good stories? Yes. Has he limited himself as a great writer? Most definitely.
He's only concerned with making OCs in order to get royalties, not to actually add depth to the overall story of the universe. He's not beholden to any editors or established continuity and he quite frankly just lost his mojo any quality work he did was well over a decade ago and now he's just allowed to do whatever shit he wants because of it
He raceswapped Ayla and Garth. I was almost on board with the new Legion despite hating his scripting, but I absolutely will not give them my money for that.
