I’ve always mentally associated these 2 shows. How similar are they really?

COTC is more like Recess or KND desu, while Clarence is more a less toony Ed Edd n’ Eddy.

Lower-middle class vs. upper-middle class

Both are lame.

Objectively correct.

They're both about childhood friends having relatively grounded stories, but other than that they're pretty different.
Their senses of humor are different.
The settings are pretty different despite both being suburbs.

Clarence is peak suburbia. Suburban ambiance.

Have any of you anons lived in a cul-de-sac? How as it, and was it constantly compared to EE&E's cul-de-sac?

I'm gonna make a chart cause I've been thinking about this a lot recently. I don't know if there's an actual term for them but they are both the same kind of genre of "kids world" shows. Clarence is the most normal day to day show just with weird kids and KND is the craziest example of this kind of show. COTC falls somewhere after recess but not as crazy as KND

I say Ed Edd n Eddy is wilder. They know they’re in a show.

Maybe but thats why I have the question mark, I don't even know if its the same genre really but it kinda is. Theres probably more shows that fall in the category better but I can't think of them

Maybe Hey Arnold? Usually kinda lumped with Recess.

One is funny, the other is boring.

Jesus Christ, did you write this with a mouse?

not sure, its like a slice of life show they don't really go on """"adventures""""" or get into out there situations. But then again they kinda do, maybe I can't even think of the words so I can't really set the guidelines. It would be between clarence and recess though
yes user I don't have an all star graphics team

Craig of the Creek is a 90s network prime time sitcom to Clarence's early 2000 indie film with stunt casting. One is genuine, the other is designed to evoke "awwws" from a fake studio audience.

this

They’re actually pretty different from one another.

I miss Clarence so much, Craig so boring compared to him.

this

they're group of three.
that's everything, really.

Which one is which?

Clarence is lower middle class, sumo is poor, jeff is straight middle class, never really struggles financially but his parents can't afford the nicest of toys (see the episode where Jeff has to suck up to Benson to use his VR)

Craig is upper middle class, his family is pretty well off, enough to support 3 well-educated kids without much issue. We don't really see much of Kelsey's and JP's family life but it's not like their houses are much different from Craig.

they're not really similar shows
Clarence's world is silly but its not really that different from our world
Craig's world is normal too but in the Creek its basically like Recess where the kids have their own mini-government and every kid has a role to play without breaking character

>it's not like their houses are much different from Craig
Lies. The Mercer home seems far more modest than Craig or Kelsey’s.

I was always on my PS1 but yeah there were other kids on my sac

I've lived in one for the past 18 years.
My brother and I hated a lot of the "big kids" on the block, so we weren't friends with the kids our age.
Our younger brothers would play with all of the kids their age, though, so I think it was pretty like EEnE.

thats a big ass yard though

Clarence is one of the best show that's just about kids doing kid things.

This is what I wanted going into COTC, kind of a spiritual successor to Clarence. I wish it could've been considered one.

If making everyone ugly as sin and grating to listen to, while constantly putting them in cringe situations is genuine, I'll have the fake shit please

Anyone thought that Jeff wasn't that bad of a person, just needed someone similar to him to hang out with?

>that one scene that gave you a Ratatouille-tier flashback of being a kid
For me it was that wack-a-gator parody.

Craig feels straight out of the ABC Kids lineup
i never cared for those shows

Clarence feels more inline with classic cartoon network. at least compared to craig

Not much really

even though clarence as a ton of fantasy stuff, i'm glad that the show didn't try to do a "there's a reason why stuff like these exist".
