Hey, Yea Forums, I challenge you to try to improve this show's art and writing.
Hey, Yea Forums, I challenge you to try to improve this show's art and writing
>implying Yea Forums has talent in either of those
hahahahahahahahahahhahaha
>implying that drawthreads and writefags don't exist
>ignoring that time when Yea Forums helped make a comic
Why is this perception allowed to exist?
Write out Ginger friends
True.
>drawthreads
Yeah okay so 5 out of 100 anons here have some talent. Is that supposed to prove something? Those threads are still mostly just autists begging for shit
Courtney makes Ginger do slutty things when she was her maid. Including erotic French maid outfit.
I like how it looks because I don't have to be aroused by everything to think its good
Let's start with the face
Tell me user, what board have more talent than Yea Forums?
Why was this show so fucking boring? I remember trying to watch it as a child but never managing to finish a single episode
It was real girl drama, which is why it was so goddamn boring.
Not even the parts with Ginger's brother could save it.
>Board pissing contest
Stop this shit.
Unless you were a middle school girl you were out of it's demographic.
just raise the lips, chin lips is the biggest offender without should look fine
>Carl becomes a nudist
>Ginger doesn't
Booo Nick.
You were a kid. Kids are spoiled and pampered with fast paced, exciting shows like Batman or Superman, or really gutbursting shows like Grim and Evil and Fairly OddParents.
I personally liked ATBG.
I liked the artstyle and I like the writing. Having one of the friends to be a bitch was an interesytng and realistic move, too. But most of all I liked the episode where Ginger gets in trouble after writing a depressive poem
Done
What happened with Klasky Csupo?
They say that if you show a picture of this show to a Marvel Studios executive, their head explodes trying to figure out how to replace the ginger with a brown girl.
They're making a new Rugrats show.
They died after AGU got canceled.
Seriously, the artstyle was the main thing that made me not watch the show as a kid. It looked so ugly.
They mostly just do commercials nowadays from what I can tell. And even then just partially with designing logos and shit
They slowly died after Nick quit collaborating with them in 2007, but have been revived due to the recent interest in millennial nostalgia throwbacks and are doing a Rugrats revival.
They tried to put together like thirty pilots to get another network to pick them up by 2010 and still haven't finished some of them, if it weren't for Stranger Things they would continue to not exist.
Their commercial division was absorbed into another company in 2011. They were in full "you are already dead" mode until Nick decided to revive Rugrats.
Timbox
They actually made a movie after AGU
It flopped hard, but it existed
A lot of the writing was cool. Courtney raving Ginger's friendship but never really getting it or Ginger's guy friend growing away from her were pretty neat.
Teacher dying hit me like a brick
It also wasn't intended but was done as a gesture of respect for the actress who died.
It transformed a sitcom story about a troublemaker convincing his teacher not to retire into a very melancholy story about admitting your affection for another too late.
I'm not sure the other anons have told you yet, user.
deadline.com
hollywoodreporter.com
turn the red head black
I actually really like this one.
Hey, that's pretty good
Courtney maybe-a-lesbian-it-would-explain-some-things was much better than the "look at the gays in our cartoon!" you'd get if this was made today.
People only like gays in cartoons if it's subtext. I find it disappointing, but i begrudgingly accept it.
I tried this out once.
Hot
Needs more eyelids
because LOOK AT OUR GAYS is a bore, while an ambiguity regarding motivation is an interesting mystery.
Et tu, Scobionicle?
People only ever feel that way about gay characters. they have no problem with outright straight romance, with no subtext. I think to most people over 20, gay stuff is still salacious and naughty, so they enjoy when it's portrayed as something to be coy about.
I like this a bunch. What if the eyelashes were at the bottom instead of at the top?
I would be ok if they remade the show in this style
I can’t draw and I like the show’s writing
Just change the last few seconds of the show to make it so that she doesnt end up with Darren because that shit was fucking awful
>art
yes
>writing
fuck off the writing was good
I think the style is pretty rough but it’s the kind you can get used to
I like it
Writing wise, Ginger gets with Courtney. We all know that was the pair that was meant to be
Wasnt the writing pretty good overall? There's just a few plot points and things that need to be reworked / improved.
Ones that come to mind right now are Courtney getting a pretty shit ending in spite of being one of the better friends Ginger had. Also her friends need to either be made into less gigantic cunts or make it more obvious that the point is that they're gigantic cunts so that can go somewhere, like ultimately Ginger realizing Courtney was a better friend in spite of the history she shared with her other ones.
It bugs me that you didn't just say 1 out of 20
2genki
Courtney's family doesn't get pointlessly fucked in the ending and at some point Ginger cuts her toxic friends loose.
Slowly replace Dodie with Courtney in Ginger's group of friends as both characters reveal their true colors.
The >losing her wealth
thing could have opened good pathways for Courtney to grow as a person and become less shallow and obsessed with image
But the way she just fucking gets kicked in the teeth and vanishes from the story is BULLSHIT. Not even giving her a cameo in the final flash forward scene had to be the result of some sudden act of malice on someone's part because the final legs of the show are just outright goddamn mean to the poor girl
This.
> if it weren't for Stranger Things they would continue to not exist.
What do you mean by that?
You'd swear they were going to go that way after Wicked Game but then they just fucking forget about the MASSIVE betrayal Dodie and Macie pulled and go back to normal
I don't know if that was some kind of studio status quo mandate or if the crew just didn't hate them as much as we do, but it's fucking weird
>The creators didnt hate them as much as we do
It might be their blind spot, or some creator bias they have. When you make something it's hard to separate your own feelings from a character and see how others would react to their actions.
Like when later releases of the Star Wars OT tried to make it more obvious that Han didnt shoot first because George Lukas thought people would want more black and white morals from the main characters. Like "Of course Han wouldnt shoot first, that wouldnt be self defense anymore and it would just mean he murdered that guy! People dont want their hero to be a killer!" Even though fans actually did like the moral ambiguity of the situation.
The show runners probably just had a similar thing with Dodie and Macy, they just didnt see as what they did as being unforgivable even though literally everyone else thought Ginger was going to cut them out of her life forever after that one episode.
/tg/
I imagine you're right, it's remarkable what kind of difference there can be between creator and audience
Trying to envision the thought process behind giving Dodie a happier ending than Courtney, and I really just can't
maby
good
Wasn't there also a behind-the-scenes implication that Courtney actually had a thing for Ginger, but that the studio wouldn't let them pursue that subplot?
I know the rumor, no idea if it's true
neat, where'd this come from?
Fuck, I just rewatched it after seeing this post. That was a rough watch
I guess, that includes you as well, you waste of skin.
Niiiiice
>Ginger calling her mom to thank her for the flowers during that poetry reading because she instantly knew they weren't from her dad
The show was a kick in the nuts sometimes
was her dad a deadbeat?
kiiiinda?
he could take care of himself but was clearly a total flake and didn't know HOW to be a father
The scene where he shows up for the Christmas/Jew holiday party and you could feel Carl's absolute disdain for him was cold, man
If Seth MacFarlane got his hands on the reboot.
>HOLY CRAP LOIS (foutley)
Implying SB's art is as ugly as MacFarlane's
I like to think Miranda kept being Courtney's friend after she got poor. It's a real friendship to read from an aquarium magazine to get them to fall asleep.
He was a mess but didn’t seem malicious in his neglect or anything
Yes. It's appreciable that they used him with some nuance. He even gives out some decent advice (or at least a nice sounding line) for her
The greatest thing about the show is that they fully embraced the idea of a grey area. Characters were seldom all bad or all good. Even Miranda, a generally awful person showed moments of humanity IIRC
I think Mipsy is like the only fully unrelenting bitch that I can think of
And even then at least she gets a fucking rock to the face and has to wear an eyepatch for a while
>Orange jumpsuits, cop behind them
Story?
I'm drawing a complete blank
I think it might have just been a gag because of the non sequitur?
>109233870
The gray haired man in the back is Courtney's father, who gets arrested shortly before
It's the movie. Courtney's Dad gets arrested for insider trading or something like that and Carl also ends up becoming pen-pals with in inmate who he invites to the wedding.
I’m a little seal girl
This thread is proof Yea Forums loves soulless calarts shit and can't recognise good art. Watch the show and you'll find that the art direction is impeccable and on par if not better than eastern tv animation (eg. cardcaptor sakura)
Give Courtney a happy end. The way she was treated was horrible.
I like the Klasky Csupo art...
Soulless.
Don’t have her get BLACKED
looks nice.
LIVIN IN THE REAL WORLD
It's a shame that best girl Courtney was treated like dirt while worst girl Dodie got off scot free.
>and writefags don't exist
They don't, have you seen the terrible ""what if?" threads in this garbage board? it's literally "big ideas guys" of fucking fanfic.
Based.
