Better than two in every way but close to one.

It's alright, but kinda feels bare-bones. There are no alternate costumes, only 4 abilities per character, and it's shorter too, and fuck them for wasting 2 slots for "spider-man but slightly different'.

I'm having a great time with it. Not very long, but lots of characters. I don't usually play through games more than once but I've already do so with this. The trials add a good level of challenge. Very limited customization, there's a whole ISO-8 system I haven't bothered to mess with to enhance characters. Could use a wave based area mode.

Its a good beat em up, better in terms of gameplay, but it is missing hubs.
Its actually somewhat hard too.

IDK, they already announced that the three packs are X-Men, F4 and Marvel Knights. You could slip them as "knights" but it'd be a stretch. The only thing they've got going for them is they are already there essentially, and maybe they could be stand alone.

Assuming each pack is 4 characters (since F4), Cyclops and Colossus, Moon Knight, Punisher, Iceman, Jean Grey, Jessica Jones, Shang-Chi would be my guesses.

The thing is that they're putting characters already in the game in as free updates. They've already announced Cyclops and Colossus as the first of these.
I'm just really crossing my fingers that Nova and Ant-Man get in this way.

I'd never understand why she got such a huge push though. Like her costume looks cool, but she wasn't even planned to be a full-fledged character/series after Spider-Verse if I remember correctly.

Again it was lighting in a bottle. 2014 was the year where TASM2 bombed in theaters, but everyone loved that relationship with Gwen and Peter. Combine that with Gwen being a superhero, and it was off to the races.

Marvel basically decided that Gwen was going to be a hit before she even saw publication. One of her earliest panels basically had a giant text box that told the audience she was "Their new favorite."

Which is ultimately ironic because Mayday had a proper strong fan reception and her rise was very much in line with Peter's. She was a one shot character in an anthology book who resonated with the readers and got her a book she carried for a very long time. Gwen meanwhile gets all the push she can from editorial but is always cancelled.

May's books never where the biggest sellers either if we're being fair, but she had that strong audience pull and marvel new that a loyal fanbase was one worth keeping around.

I always loved the slight alterations that suit had on the classic design. Kinda wished they used that design for Peter instead when he had to spring into action.

Look, I don't doubt the game designers abilities to make unique move sets for any character but it's not just abut move sets. He just comes across as superfluous thematically. He doesn't really have the personality or design to really make him different to the other spiders.

At least Peter was dead in the ultimate universe and the movie, but by bringing Miles into 616 they've made him even more unnecessary, since the 616 Spider-Man isn't going anywhere, and Miles will never be anything more than just "the lesser, black one".

Its one of the reasons I want them to push Mayday, Miles has no place in 616 (hence why his "secret origin" is literally him asking peter, in a costume and with web shooters he shouldn't have at the time, if he can also use the spiderman name) If you make peter older, like if he's married with a kid, you have a place for Miles. But the don't want miles to have a place, Marvel gets more ink with all of the complaints about how Miles has no place in universe. Its I hated spiderverse, because of its critical success they're never going to sort Miles out and give him a proper place in the lore

Games take years to develop. When the process began, the F4 were off the table. Later, when they became available, it was no longer an option to incorporate them into the story, but they could be added it later.

It's definitely a weird exemption for a game with Ghost Spider in it. So it's either someone told them they couldn't use it for some reason, or, they left it out for creative reasons.

The game ends on a cliffhanger of Harry being on symbiote life support. Most likely, they felt it would devalue the actual black suit in the sequel if they included it as just a cosmetic suit in the first game.
However, the excuse they gave, that they don't want to put it in without story context, is just retarded, since most costumes are from either AUs, or stories that didn't happen in the game's world, i.e. most costumes don't have the story context already.

It is kinda bullshit they didn't add it but it does make sense that they'd want to save some costumes for the sequel since this'll probably be the arkham model of just adding all of the costumes from the previous games to the new ones as they come out.

Why do you need heal at all? I've had a hero die less than 5 times in total, not counting infinity trials.

And what if we count infinity trials? Let’s not pretend like being able to heal is completely useless especially when the AI can be pretty brain dead sometimes

For Infinity Trials, some are made easier by having someone who can bring up your health. Especially during ones that have multiple boss fights or have your health decay.

I don't know about that, the ones that actually killed me a lot, like the Thanos one, were dealing too much damage for healing to be effective, so I found having another hard hitter to be generally more effective than having a healer.

I wish miles didn't have web shooters, and instead had jumping spider capabilities in addition to his electricity stuff, so that way his fighting style would consists of jumping of all was and ping ponging himself towards his opponents then knocking them out with electricity. I feel like only the original Spider Man should have webs, seeing how its Peter's invention, and not one he was gifted by his powers.

I feel like the inhumans were more Shakespearean than any other group in the Marvel universe, it would be cool to see them play it up

You can break the barriers in the 2nd half of the battle with the smallest charge on the stone (aura becomes purple, but not giant), you don't need the full charge. After I learned that I quickly managed to get the time star for that battle.
