OK KO let’s get cancelled! Seriously what do they even have anymore on CN? The first action show in god knows how long with multiple crossovers gets cancelled. What brings in ratings? Is it still TTGO?
OK KO let’s get cancelled! Seriously what do they even have anymore on CN...
>OK KO gone
>Mao Mao, DC Superhero girls and Infinity train take it's place
Based
Yes, ttgo is easy to make and rerunning it makes them a lot of easy money
Why even care about ratings in the age of streaming
What streaming service does CN use? All of it’s old shit is on a Boomerang streaming service and if you want to stream modern shit you need cable
>The first action show in god knows how long with multiple crossovers gets cancelled.
It was kind of boring though
CN's method is incredibly old-fashioned and doesn't work these days. There's no point in having a cartoon series run endlessly until it gets cancelled, why not just buy one season and get a proper story told in that time? Then maybe fund another season if it's popular.
>Spread the rumor that it was my choice to end OK KO! Let's Be Heroes.
Sure thing Ian. I'll tell everyone.
Place your bets Yea Forums:
Will Ian
A) Go back to Steven Universe
or
B) Make a show for netflix
>Mao Mao
furry shit
>DC Superhero girls
equestria girls but even more boring
>Infinity train
miniseries with only 10 episodies
CN is complete garbage
B no question
Steven universe has one season left what can he even do in that short time?
Well, it’s time to hear the same 2 complaints over and over again
>what do they even have anymore on CN?
>Infinity Train
>Total Drama Rama
>DC Superhero Girls
>Summer Camp Island
>Mao Mao
Also Adult Swim
>Venture Brothers
>Ballmastrz: 9009
>Final Space
CN is with a lot of great content right now, also good riddance OK KO it was one of the weakest shows on CN due to weak writers wasting Ian worldbuilding.
It's getting more than 6 seasons user (as per CNScoops old info). Nine was the proposed number, though things may have changed. If the movie and S6 does well I can easily see them renewing if they haven't ordered stuff already.
Stopped reading there.
>hurr if there is animals then is furry, Mickey Mouse is a furfag guyzzzzzzz
You're retarded.
>t. furfag
and fuck that jewish rat too
Nice
Yeah. CN is shaping up to have a pretty great 2020s
Here's the post just so I'm not chatting shit without any proof
But Mickey was a massive furfag. Furries started with him back in the 40s late 30s
i hope he goes to netflix
The thing with Blue Diamond was clarified in a recent thread btw, he was talking about the Rose = Pink reveal. Movie coming after that is basically double confirmation.
the scary part is, is how accurate this post continues to be as we go into 2020, one of the legit leaks desu.
>action cartoon
Western action from the mid 2010s on have been a desert this counts
It was before Ian turned it into a slice of life crossover show with 5 seconds of action per episode.
That and the art style really did not help it. It does not look good or appealing to anything but an easily amused child, which limits the chances of it gaining any kind of wider viewership to boost numbers. You can't keep a show on the air if the only people that care about it would be equally entertained by animal planet with the sound off.
Anyone got a mega for season 3 of okko?
Dude, OK KO wasn't good in the first place.
not a mega but there is a fan site with direct download. okko.fun
KO, Gumball, Steven Universe, Adventure Time and a lot of other current CN programming are on Hulu
That works too! Thanks user!
They'll all probably be put under HBO MAX next year.
I feel bad for him but honestly never really liked OK K.O. all that much in the first place. I stopped keeping track of it after the first season finale.
No they haven't.
these are literally all either ongoing or recently ended
>Marvel's Spider-Man
>Guardians of the Galaxy
>The Dragon Prince
>Trollhunters and 3below
>Transformers Cyberverse
>Mega Man: Fully Charged
>Rise of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles
>Ballmasterz
>Young Justice
>Star Wars Galaxy of Adventures
>Niko Sword of Light
>Lastman
>A few of the films in Love, Death, and Robots
>Emara
>Carmen Sandiego
>Castlevania
>gen:LOCK
And as much as Yea Forums doesn't want to admit it
>Steven Universe
>OK K.O.!'
Then we have stuff upcoming like
>Genndy Tartakovsky's Primal
>Seis Manos
>Cannon Busters
>Glitch Techs
>Invincible
>Fast and Furious (fuck you car action is still action)
I've forgotten most of them, but immediately obvious examples From early in the decade are
>Avengers Earth's Mightiest Heroes
>Generator Rex
>Samurai Jack
>Thundercats
>Legend of Korra
>Motorcity
>Tron Uprising
>Justice League Action
This is a meme propagated by people who don't watch cartoons
MaoMao is much better than this shit, sorry it doesn't feature teenage girls with elephantitis to slap your dick to
So is that show on pic related.
>This is a meme propagated by people who don't watch cartoons
not him but true
>obvious examples From early in the decade are
You forgot to mention symbionic titan, pal.
>>Steven Universe
It isn't an action cartoon. It's more like slice of life with action scenes. If you count it as an action toon because it has action scenes, then you also should count adventure time.
>Also
Isn't kung fu panda TAS from this decade?
>we could've had sonic x TTG if this shit didnt existed
good fucking riddance, and never fucking come back.
False the part of the lack of action toons.
True the part of most of the cartoon fandom is composed by people who don't actually watch cartoons.
>Isn't kung fu panda TAS from this decade?
even if i kung fu panda legend of awesomeness some how magically doesn't count there also paws of destiny.
I respect that you think that this show was bad and will always be bad
And I respect that you respecting my decision of thinking this show was bad and will always be bad
agreed desu.
Don't be shit talking Mao Mao. That show is fun
I gotta screencap this.
Thanks pal
I fucking told you retards. Nobody ends a show by choice, because that's not how business works. If they say they did it's PR.
They currently use their own app, which requires Turner's retarded practice of logging in through information from your cable provider for full access so they can track ratings.
Since they're now owned by AT&T, everything will be on HBO Max when it launches.
>Nobody ends a show by choice
Gravity falls and Over the garden wall are the first things that came to my mind.
Look, I said I forgot most of them, that list is in no way exhaustive, themfact that there are moremI forgot proves my point.
Also what this guy said
But as a huge fan of Adventure Time, the action scenes were never significant, even in an episode like Dad's Dungeon fighting the demon just served as motivation for Jake to show Finn how their dad really felt. But in SU, fighting corrupted gems, and invading homeworld gems seemsmlike they're trying to emphasize the action much more.
Few shows have fights every episode, but the emphasis that they put on them is what makes it an action show
Pretty see DC Superhero Girls is going to get moved to Netflix or Boomerang.
I know twitter was saying the show was pedo bait bc all the women where thicc, and wanted to lynch ian, maybe he can finally retire with his jewish princex now
Netflix is a competitor with AT&T's HBO Max, DCSG isn't gonna go there, and they're already preparing to phase Boomerang out to move everything to HBO Max.
>The first action show in god knows how long
But that's fucking wrong.
Well guess what, they fucking weren't.
Also adding Voltron: Legendary Defender, She-Ra and the Princesses of Power, Big Hero 6: The Series, Stretch Armstrong and the Flex Fighters, and arguably The Adventures of Puss in Boots.
it was only good for the porn anyway
I remember reading a Hirsch Twitter around the ending of GF when he said "GF wasn't cancelled, the show came to an end". I can't give a source tho.
In the case of OtGW, Patrick wanted 18 episodes but CN gave him 12 and with that he could make a solid show. From 18 to 12 is not really that far.
Where is the Source?
>Oh you got that tumor removed? What organs do you even have now?
That's how you sound OP
not gonna listen to the opinion of someone who watched equestria girls and still has the audacity to judge something because it has animal characters in it
>Seriously what do they even have anymore on CN
A Better cartoon show
It's okay, let's extend the list for futher threads.
>But in SU, fighting corrupted gems, and invading homeworld gems seemsmlike they're trying to emphasize the action much more.
I disagree politely with you. I agree with:
>Action show=action is more important
I think a good parallel with Steven Universe is Symbionic titan, since they are similar in plot.
>Aliens refugee on earth
>They have to fight an empire who took over their home planet
I know it's not that similar, but you get the idea. In symbionic titan every problem is solved with fighting. With SU, on the other hand, there are not only fight episodes but lore and human relationships there. There is lore in Symbionic titan but it always mixed with action scenes (like the scape of galaluna episode). I would say SU is an action show if only S1 existed, but later seasons are more focused on slice of life, relationships and pacific solution of fightings.
I don't keep the list saved I wrote it for another thread and copy pasted it from desuarchive.
If anything Disney wanted it to last longer. Hirsch was on the verge of giving up in season 1.
really don't think anyone should care about the opinion of some nut job whose been ritualistically stalking threads for years.
Honestly I hope that it isn’t the same guy posting the same image for 2 years, but considering how baneyfag was a thing, that’s probably the case
Are you sad that you won't be able to post that picture again in the future, you mad hoe?
>only one person can understand how bad OK KO looks.
>obsessed autist.png
Literally only posted once in July
I said that I didn’t hope it wasn’t the same guy dipshit. Of course there’s a group of people who think it looks like ass.
Poor Ian, first he has to play ‘babysitter’ to all the obnoxious Steven Universe fans and deal with all the autistic cartoon trolls on twitter. Then when he finally gets his own show, it’s treated like garbage and then canned. I’m pretty sure this is NOT how he planned his cartoon career would be like.
Oh god I dismissed this as bullshit when I saw it
>same filenames
>image sets
>and arguments for years
understand my ass, even if you aren't the guy your still mindlessly echoing a shitposter.
Nothing wrong with healthy skepticism user.
>when he finally gets his own show, it’s treated like garbage and then canned
Because his show was canned garbage
maybe he should've stepped up.
if OK KO actually came out the way he intended then he shouldn't even bother pitching any other shows ever.
>Only posted seven times the same pic from March to July
>LOL THE SAME ARGUMENTS FOR YEARS
Yeah, I think the obsessed faggot is another.
There will always be people who hate what you make. It’s just how the entertainment industry works.
>newfag hasn't been here long enough to know about this
>immediately rushes to there defense
>same filenames
look again
>bad
>bad
>ok
>bad
>ok
>good, but new seasons air every 2 or 3 years
>good, but S1 was extremely short and so will S2
>S1 was good, but S2 is bad
This is pretty dire if anything else.
>doesn't know about filename randomizer
>calls others newfags
At least he wasted his few moments on air for his shitty captain planet and sonic fan fic episodes
how do you manage to look worse than sanic underground?
Another trophy for the Loud's case...
over 100 episodes is very respectable
should be proud of the show he made
why hasn't Time Warner jumped on the streaming service app as hard as Disney has?
They arguably have more desirable IPs
and already have Boomerang, DC Universe, and The CW doing stuff
why not just streamline it all?
CN doesn't even make TTG, WB does
they're going to see how much money they can suck out of people with multiple subscriptions before they start to consolidate.
why did she kill sr pelo
Huh that's strange I only posted one of those, might be that image was saved by a lot of disgruntled people user and you're the one that's obsessive. I mean you are literally going out of your way to look up images in the desuarchive.
>A series ends earlier than expected but still get's a faux conclusion, AFTER having a cross over with Sonic The Hedgehog.
Not again...how can this be happening again?
It’s more funny than anything with how people mostly use that image to showcase how the show looks ugly. Isn’t there any other ugly shit in the later seasons?
I mean yeah but getting that little KOfag's jimmies rustled is way more fun
Literally who
CN recovered pretty well, I hope Nick stop sucking cocks and start making good shit again.
>weak writers
But Steven Universe isn't cancelled
>he doesn't know Sr Pelo
>look it up
>its some 56% face creatura that makes YouTube videos about other Youtubers
Knowing about this shit let alone expecting others to is a level of zoomer no jutsu I cannot even fathom...
>its some 56% face creatura
He's a mexican living in Mexico.
OK KO was shit.
>Moor/Celt/Visigoth mutt mixed with Aztec/Zapotec/Mayan mutt to create the second most lazy and violent race known to man after the Negro
Hmm...
Cringe
cringe
Do not defend the loudfag, amigo.
It's fair to end OK KO, i wouldn't want another from them season if the CN doesn't renew Mighty Magiswords & Gumball for more seasons either.
You forgot the Fungies
999% cringe
high level yikes
critical oof
>HBO MAX
Yup everything is getting dumped there, can you imagine all the new shows produced for a streaming platform? They can have thicc story arcs to encourage binge watching.
That's what HBO MAX will be for
Now fucking off SU already
>muh lore and feelz
Fuck off deepfags
You must not have been a fan of old AT then
Sorry user, people actually like that one. OK KO got like a third (maybe half if we're being fair) of its regular views for comparison's sake.
Big F. No matter what others here think, I absolutely loved the show. I'm not that much of an expert on animation so the only thing I can say about it was I thought some parts looked beautiful, and I thought some parts looked pretty bad. The one thing I loved though were the characters and how they were put in such a world where the environment brings out the best of them.
I loved KO and I was so glad Ian didn't use the trope in which boys in cartoons are always generally stupid. KO was this gullible kid where his journey to be a hero actually made him grow, and it didn't feel forced. I loved that every character he interacted with adds to his development. Season one KO is pretty different from current KO and I appreciate it a lot.
Though if we're talking natural growth, my favorite would be Enid. Probably unfair, since she has the most episodes besides KO (I'm pretty sure if they had more episodes, Rad would have gotten his own special too). Her interactions with KO transitions her from mentor to big sister, and her interactions with everyone else was from an edgy teen angst to learning to accept her past and becoming a caring person, whilst getting stronger abilities in the process. My favorite part was when she was called out on her bitch attitude by Rad, which was actually a catalyst to making her a better person. That's bonkers good stuff.
I wish Rad had more episodes. He did grow, there's no doubt, and it also felt natural as he learned that his actions had consequences while accepting more of his soft side. So far, and I might not be remembering right, Rad only had two big brother type episodes with KO and they were both pretty damn good. I just wanted his growth affect KO, like seeing his words and actions had an effect on the kid, not just Radical Rescue. Then maybe his growth would have been better. His interactions with Enid though were top notch, them playing off each other and learning from each other were a highlight of anytime they have an episode. (If Enid doesn't end up with him though I'm gonna get so mad)
Carol's entire character was shrouded in mystery since season one. The unraveling of her past and her reaction when confronted with it was fantastic in my opinion. It shows that even though she's a fantastic mom and a good hero, she can't truly be great when keeping such secrets from her boy and her love. This all culminated in Dark Plaza, which I didn't like that much because it was rushed. Cartoon Network telling them that they were cancelled probably made them rush everything out quick.
Mr. Gar was in the same boat as Carol, though his season one self was the best. His past getting revealed made him feel less like a badass and more like a broken man. Which was fine, but I wanted him to do more legendary hero stuff like before instead of what we got. It was only until Garquest did his badass persona came back and once again, Dark Plaza being rushed was disappointing. I can only hope his character going forward will be as good, if not better than before. Especially since we know Venomous is Laserblast and KO's real dad.
My absolute my favorite character is Dendy. I already love the genius kid trope, but her personality becoming more and more wholesome every episode always put a smile on my face. KO and Dendy episodes were 100% my favorites of the bunch and I keep coming back to watch them because Dendy herself is so enjoyable. Also KOxDendy top tier, GTFO Fink fags.
Then there's the villains. Boxman was comic relief, sure, but his one defining moment, the one that stopped me questioning why he's a higher villain level than the rest of the villains, was Villain's Night Out. That ending where he reveals that he was deliberately making everyone uncomfortable while saying he doesn't care what anyone thinks and then destroying the boat they were on, absolutely kino. 10/10 chaotic evil.
The Boxbots were already characters that everyone loved and episodes like Let's Watch The Boxmore Show where they all just play off each other was such a highlight of the cartoon. Their familial love for Boxman being played off as comedic and their sometimes child like innocence was sad, but in a damn funny way. I can't help but laugh at any line they deliver. Shannon best bot.
Professor Venomous slowly turning from Neutral Evil to Chaotic Evil was good, but the reveal that he was Laserblast boosted it up to great status. Him being powerless prevented him from being in the fray, thus his lust to fight and power hungry demeanor led him to my favorite line of his. "You don't need powers, to HAVE POWER!" That was such a defining moment.
Fink's perfect brat demeanor, and obsession with her "dad" makes her sympathetic in the least. I wish they stuck her as a little being of Chaos, but if they're building her up to be KO's arch nemesis in the future then I am all for it. I hope Fink and Dendy interact in future episodes.
Christ, even the townie episodes were really good. Red Action had her own development, A Real Magic Skeleton and Brandon are always a treat, Drupe accomplished her dreams, Elodie went from bitch to wife, Beardo's episode had great backgrounds, Whacky Jaxxyz was hilarious, Miss Quantum's villain form was great, Punching Judy got a wholesome moment with her idol. I might be missing a lot more, but these townie episodes were infinitely better than Steven Universe's Townie episodes all because of one crucial thing. I actually care about these characters.
This was a fun ride for me, and I'll definitely remember this show for probably my whole life. See ya around chumps. Even though most of these threads were cancer, I'll miss it.
Based CN.
Mexico is doing pretty well when compared to most of middle east and half of asia.
>>Mao Mao
>furry shit
The show is not even that good. Adorabat is fucking annoying. But the real killer? The horrible Gay Furry Fanbase. It's just as hideous as Klonoa and Star Fox's fanbase. Just full of Gay Furry Shit.
What gives you that idea monkey brain?
Don't forget "Scooby-Doo and Guess Who"
Sad thing is that Total DramaRama is the only watchable show on the channel right now.
Why do you care about a fanbase?
I'm gonna miss them ;_;
Here's some fucking real facts:
OK KO was an attempt at a multimedia franchise, with videogames that advertised the cartoon, and a cartoon that would advertise the videogames, this was the pitch that got the show off the ground and put into production. The show performed okay but the videogame half of the franchise bombed, which means both halves of the franchise were regarded as a failure by CN as they were intrinsically linked. The crossovers were an attempt to boost interest in the show (therefore hopefully boosting interest in the games) and began as early as the end of season 1 because things were already starting to look rough for the project. The other crossovers were scheduled so they would launch before the console OK KO game was released, the performance of which would seal the fate of the project. The Sonic crossover would've been during season 2 but the Sega deal took too long.
all of those shows are still unironically better than ok ko
also
>complaining about furry shit
>when ok ko literally had a pro-furry episode and has a shit ton of furry characters
>letting furries ruin your life
stop making them live rent free in your head
What's the point of viewing anything when the fanbase who you have to discuss something with is complete garbage? Whatever. To me Mao is trash because of the fanbase and a few actual flaws.
I'm not exaggerating here: I've not heard ANYONE even mention the OK KO video game. I mean, just look at the fucking thing
>those mentions of Close Enough
WHERE THE FUCK IS IT?!
Meanwhile SU gets a really neat Paper Mario style RPG with a nice (if simple) aesthetic that basically uses he far models from the show.
there bundled more often than not, and we had some discussion on Yea Forums about the game when it was announced.
There's a couple reasons, mostly just that it's really bad. Secondly is the artstyle, nobody likes it. The animation is great but the artstyle choice is disgusting. Even Ian and people who worked on the game went silent about the game really quickly.
Yeah, I'll be honest, while animated well, that artstyle alone really killed my interest in this game, don't get why they didn't just try to copy the shows art.
The creator of Gumball wanted to finished the show but CN forced him to do more. We still don't know what will happen with the show because CN want more.
The CN app shorts were fucking neat. I was surprised that the actual show was nothing like those shorts.
I vaguely remember this game being advertised in CN around 2015 (I guess?)
Didn't Bocquelet just jumped out the boat and now CN will keep going on without him?
last thing i heard is that cartoon network uk is done with production on gumball and is starting to shift focus on tig'n seek and elliot from earth.
That is what he said in 2018. Last important thing he said this year was "UK is no longer Gumball's home"
>furry shit
isnt it canon that KO and the others are furries using human costumes?
yep, never reversed it or anything, just used as an occasional sight gag.
Well, if nothing else, at least Ian is happy that he was able to make the most out of OK K.O. If the finale is something he and his crew have been planning, I'm looking forward to it.
It was a cool idea but they definitely didn't put enough effort into it. Meanwhile SU ironically got a really nice and fun little game made for itself.
Why are you watching childrens cartoons? Modern CN is PURELY childrens cartoons with very rare case of ANY all-ages appeal. You genuinely simply shouldn't have any interest in this. You should be bored and slightly annoyed by it. Are you mentally handicapped?
no (you) for you shitposter.
Is DC superhero girls good though?
Mao Mao has a cute artstyle but after watching a couple episodes, I felt like I was watching a Disney jr show...
Infinity train is good but only 10 episodes for 1 week and will probably be played only during special occasions like Over the Garden Wall...
Honestly best to kill it now. it started out with potential but it's gotten just... sad.
you can get meta about it all you want, but the way the thing with Laserblast was handled was fucking extra double tards.
>Mao Mao has a cute artstyle but after watching a couple episodes, I felt like I was watching a Disney jr show...
What, the jokes are not something that you get from Disney jr. They are not exactly adult but its more akin to adventure time.
Those are good shows...user
Really? I haven't heard anything about su in so long, I really thought all that was left was the movie.
Can't imagine what else they can do with the series at this point
How does that solve the problem? Planning for a season and planning for a several seasons are two different things. Every single one of them is going to have some half satisfying ending that concludes the story but leaves it open to more, which also limits what kind of stories you could tell. You're asking people to plan to fail. They'd be better off doing something like having a bunch of creators make an episode or two of something, then just making deals with those creators. That way they can sort of develop in house talent.
Its definitely very family friendly humor. Like it seems like a very safe show?
Even adventure time felt a bit more "edgier"
Of course I only seen a few episodes of the series.
This feels to wholesome and sincere for this site. I'm uncomfortable.
>nuPPG does well internationally
Thats interesting? Wonder why it does awful here but other places like it
Mostly character stuff, but who knows? Maybe other threads will pop up down the line
There's nothing sadder than an adult trying to prove his maturity by mocking childish hobbies, user.
And there's nothing sadder than giving a shitposter (You), user. Never do that.
Either brand recognition or lack of it. Lots of movies that flop in the US do well overseas if they're big brands like Transformers and Fast and Furious. They also may not have the relationship we have with PPG, where a new show with shittier VAs, animation, and writing doesn't matter because they have nothing to compare it to.
There's at least a new season beyond the movie, though for some reason CN has been silent on officially announcing it. If you do a bit of digging you can see cast and crew making it pretty clear they're still doing episodes of the show.
>Summer Camp Island
>Bad
Into the garbage your opinion goes!
Damn, what a mess. The big decline of cable viewership in 2017 didn't do it any favors either. I loved this show from the start, but it ended up being an endearing shitpost for anyone who grew up watching CN from the late 90's to mid 2000's.
A Space Ghost C2C crossover was planned at one point, but it was scrapped.
>“We had a really good story,” explains Quartey but, “we really, really wanted the Coast to Coast cast in it.”
>Sadly, C. Martin Croker, who played Zorak, Moltar, and more in Space Ghost Coast to Coast passed away in 2016 before the OK K.O.! crew could finish writing the story. With his passing, Jones-Quartey and his team decided to drop the idea.
>“We just felt like we couldn't really do it the way we wanted to,” Quartey says.
denofgeek.com
>i only watch things to talk about them on the internet
and into the heap it goes
how could I forget Ian screencapping his own tweet about it and posting it here
>rent free in your head
They're not rent free in my head though. They're occupying my threads and it's fucking annoying.
Why was it cancelled? I've been out of the loop.
Because it's not TTG
Thank fucking Christ: genderqueer furries already idolize the guy thanks to masturbating to Zorak, but he was actually pretty normal in his tastes I.E. problematic
I cannot tell you how glad I am that he wasn't involved with these talent-less fags
There are so many OK KO tie-in games you haven't heard of, you wouldn't believe it.
Ian didn't deserve a show to begin with so good fucking riddance.
Drama Rama is good, don't be that guy.
It was a Shitty job then. They barley advertised that there was video games. Literally the only one who did anything was Rebeltaxi and that’s because he was friends with Ian
>OK KO let’s get cancelled!
You made me chuckle, thanks
>boring
that's what disappoints me the most honestly
It's not random.
who are you talking to wtf
How was it bad? It wasted no time getting to the point that we were already assuming?
Someone in Yea Forums who watches cartoons? that's new
>A Space Ghost C2C crossover was planned at one point, but it was scrapped.
CN pussed out? pathetic
Makes you wonder how many of these spinoffs were because of Ian or because of people forcing it upon him
>Ok Ko gets canned
>Ashly Butch was apart of the cast
Good fuckin’ riddance, trash.
lol the guy DIED
this to be honest, she's horrible and devalues anything she's in
Honestly, it had a good run
I'd love to see more--but they resolved just about everything I cared about
Glad he got to do some things most people don't get to do--good luck on his next show
How did they mess up so badly?
Ian was responsible for the "all the spinoffs should look different from the tv show" idea. The spinoffs also didn't just have different designs, they had slightly different canons that contradict each other too. There's characters still using designs from the pilot, some characters have totally different personalities, and so on. They seem to have realized their mistake later on too, the mobile game starring the reporter has it's own artstyle, but they made it so the title screen/promo art for the game was in the normal show style.
It boggles my mind that there was no one on board saying "wait, no, this is fucking stupid, it'll just confuse and aggravate kids."
>The show's life is almost entirely contingent on the success or failure of a tie-in game/app
This crossover makes a lot more sense now.
ew. I love weird, crude, cartoony looking stuff, but this just doesn't look right. no wonder this game was buried and forgotten.
Guys, I'm gonna miss my nerdy kappa daughterfu.
I was talking about the crossoverd in the show, but I can agree that it was a stupid idea with the games. I like Ian but I don’t know how he thought “giving each game a different continuity and art style” was a good idea.
No fink no buy.
I probably just said spin-offs instead of crossovers cause I’m retarded
Mao Mao gets probably treated worse than O.K K.O, Infinity Train is a miniseries and Superhero Girls is overshadowed by TTG!
Why even pitch to TV anymore? That shit is dying.
Sorry, KO, you weren't female enough to save your show.
>when you have to capitalize on mass shootings to boost interest in your show
>Abloo abloo lets blame the Jooz
Christ you idiots are predictable.
Watch more episodes.
youtu.be
>ok ko
>action show
Christ that's weird looking
Better answer:
It got shit ratings and didn't really appeal to anyone besides people who were already fans of Ian.
No wonder it failed miserably, this crap is ugly as calrats hell, look at that fucking bean worm mouth grin and that shitty background, I've played flash games on some rando websites back in the 06' with better graphic then this dumpware.
Get it through your damn skulls, this entire franchise is ugly, horrendous, it stinks just from looking at it. It may have had a shot of if it was done in the early 2000s but with today's level of competition? Nope. Get cancelled ian urkle, be content with how long overdue it took before CN pulled the plug on your ass and don't forget to purchase a couple of 4channel vip passes so you and your okko goons can shitpost this shitshow at the speed of fail.
Based user posting his positive thoughts on the show. Really though you laid out what it was I liked about the characters so much.
in their head, but they don't notice how slow the show is with all that padding and filler episodes epr seasons.
>The first action show in god knows how long
and a terrible one at that
everything's about to get put on warner media
netflix will take almost anything, so probably b
they've got no standards
aren't they putting it all on a brand new streaming service?
OtGW was a mini-series, so that gets a pass
it's basically like wanting to make a movie, but the content is too long for any one film and too short for multiple
don't worry, we'll have the odd off-model threads from time to time
this was pretty much to be expected
SU was lightning in a bottle for them and it's probably what ultimately got OK KO greenlit because CN thought he'd be able to make them a 2nd SU
the problem is that it's just as bad as SU without the success
He'll most likely go back to Steven Universe but I am hoping that he makes a deal with Netflix so we can get OK KO season 4. If that's possible.
I'm pretty sure for syndication, you need 88 full 30-minute episodes (pairs of two for a 15-minute episodes)
why do you have to post an entire fucking essay on this thread just to say how much you love this shitty show
>OK KO was an attempt at a multimedia franchise
a failed one at that
other countries (especially japan) loved old PPG, so it's possible that other countries liked it. same goes for other properties, such as Lilo & Stitch (which is still going in china or something) and I thing We Bare Bears is huge in like japan or korea or something
wouldn't they be in charge of dubbing? they might be using the old dub voices whereas we're stuck with the shitty current ones
the sad thing is, she's probably the biggest name in the main cast
I'm mostly assuming Jim Cummings shows up less than her, but they got some nobody to take over for young Goku's VA and Ian voices the blue fucker
>but I am hoping that he makes a deal with Netflix so we can get OK KO season 4
unlikely
CN likely owns the rights, so they're probably not gonna let him just take it somewhere else
>OK KO!?
>More like BTFO!
I warned you faggots months ago, I'm just coming back to gloat about it now
this show's ratings were always shit and I told you that the low-ass ratings would get it canned eventually
>Not KO got KO'd
One job, user.
that's too obvious
>OK KO
>action
Did you develop tunnel vision a decade ago or do you only pay attention to what gets thrown on CN?
>This is a meme propagated by people who don't watch cartoons
It's an SUfag who graduated to OK KO solely because of Ian, what do you expect when that fandom cares only about gem waifu bullshit and how to make their favorite shows seem way better than they actually are.
Sonic Underground actually kept defined character references and didn't hand the show over solely to lazy, unimaginative storyboarders.
That would require actively watching the show and trying to stay interested enough to keep an eye out for that shit.
Has anyone even heard from JG Quintel recently? He hasn't tweeted anything in over a year. I'm starting to think that the man is dead.
Didn't know it even had a game, thought all the crossover shit was due to a FOX Bob's Burgers type of deal where they slap the other IPs in to boost popularity.
Could've just done cartoon city if your post is true, but no instead we got Steven Universe lite, yet another faux-action show where the thrills are replaced with meme faces it lays on the 'referencing' of other material heavily in lieu of something that could actually pass itself off as an original idea even if it wasn't.
The current all-age appeal is all the waifu pandering and romance melodrama shoveled into the shows. Seems to work too given that/co/ and Tumblr never shut the fuck up about the latest addition to a show's love tetrahedron and what have you.
This is bullshit
Sad. I liked the show.
>Ok ko is an action show
>Steven universe is a slice of life
This is your brain on meme logic
that game also bombed but the show itself is still very successful.
I'll take your word for that, I never bothered looking up STL's sales. Sad if true since the game is pretty good, I'd love a sequel set after CYM.
>(If Enid doesn't end up with him though I'm gonna get so mad)
get ready because there are 0 chances this show isn´t ending with a lesbian couple.
Please don´t call ok ko´s episodes "townies".
That description was made for SU because of how worthless those characters were to the overall plot. Shows focusing on side characters is something that´s old as time. SU just did it really, really badly.
Rad will become trans
OK KO was an action show?
Disagree, I love those characters. Characters, mind you. The episodes are hit and miss but considering there's only 5 or so per season they're easy to ignore.
I never thought OK KO was a show that should last longer than 3 seasons. I would at least liked it if S3 was longer so they had more time to give everything proper closure, but I´m not that angry that this show ends so soon.
Despite the fact that it had a plot, it was always treated as a joke. The biggest reveal of the whole series is shrugged off like it´s nothing, so at its core, it was just a comedy. Like Gumball. And I´m glad it ended before it got shitty.
I know that Ian flew the creator of Villainous to the US to record something. So if this show ends with a Villainous/OK KO crossover, then I´ve gotten everything I wanted out of this show.
Nobody will miss it
Too bad since Ian is a total bro but man this show was such a dud
Did it get ruined by suits or by the people making it? What's your hot take guys?
Imho it was way too goofy
While I like the show, the art style is so messy that I can´t see CN using it to promote themselves. It feels like a web show with a bigger budget that aired on television.
Since everything was a joke, it never could gather a fanbase that cares about the story like SU and AT did.
That goes for the characters too. Playing everything as a joke, even the problems, means you can't really connect with anyone. I doubt anyone sees Steven's turmoil over not being able to see Jasper as funny and the show doesn't treat it as such either which endears us to the character. What does KO struggle with besides wanting to be a hero? He met his father for the first time and five minutes later he was making plans to hang out with him (for TKO stuff IIRC but still)
*not being able to SAVE Jasper
>Despite the fact that it had a plot, it was always treated as a joke
This is what disappointed me with this show. Not the art style, animation, or constant references to something else, but after trying to get invested the plot usually straight-up didn't matter because everything's a joke.
I know some people like to complain about plot driven shows and think trying to have a deepest lore plot kills a lot of shows, but I would at least like it where if something's going to try to have a plot or if a character's supposed to learn a lesson to not constantly flip flop on whether or not it's important to pay attention to it.
I think I gave OK KO a fair chance and I liked the characters to a point, but sometimes it felt like it wasn't going anywhere so I just drifted to other things.
Too much of everything all at once, no cohesive arch or interesting foil for KO other than copy/paste shonen tropes, hand drawn feel degraded into crude laziness for any scene that wasn't fun to draw. Lots of cool and interesting designs came out of it, but there was only so much you could stretch out of the original premise of the short. Happy it existed, happy it's ending sooner than later.
It hurts to see it go, man, it really does. But at the very least, it seems like they're intending to wrap it up in a way they'll be satisfied with, instead of the network pulling the rug out from under them.
KO's been a damn good ride.
I'm glad that they're having a sense of humor about it at least.
>Like Gumball. And I´m glad it ended before it got shitty.
Gumball started getting shitty since it's fifth season. Season 6 is undeniably the worst season of the show.
I know you lurke the threads Mr. Jones, so let me say thank you for all your work you put into the show
I just realised their colors are like Sam, Alex and Clover from Totally Spies.
>9 seasons
how the fuck are they gonna achieve that?
>Thinking a cartoon videogame will ever be successful
What were they thinking?
No clue, It's a show driven more by its characters rather than the story anyway so I'd expect more introspection than anything else although there's still a fair few misc threads of lore and plot dangling (the non essentially stuff like what's in the chest, dealing with the zoo humans and so on).
Ian, I loved your show, and I'm sad to see it go.
Also you are very cute. Your gf is a lucky gal.
If anime games can be
>get ready because there are 0 chances this show isn´t ending with a lesbian couple.
It's gonna happen alright.
this
i also dismissed a lot of Incineroar rumors for Smash
he's my main now
>Toph
based
FUCK NO. Red action is fated to leave for the future. If Enid goes with her than her character development of accepting and forgiving her past would be void is she ends up LITERALLY running away from it.
I don't even care if she and Rad get together, just as long as her getting with Red does not happen.
>Rad becoming trans is Ian coming out
holy shit can you imagine?
I wonder if Cartoon Network cancelled OKKO to make way for this godforsaken abomination.
>Mao Mao gets two hour long slots on the weekends and will get less airing as the show goes on
>infinity train is getting bomb formatted
>DC horse girl show isn’t even airing this week
Nope, still the TTG and Gumball network, OK KO doesn’t really even air ever.
Based. He's a fun character even if he is slow as a truck.
its about time it get cancelled
such an eyesore in the tv and in this board
It's gonna be fucking surreal on August 31st and September 1st when Steven Universe is being marathon with every single episode. Not that it doesn't deserve it but I'm just so used to seeing yellow and blue on these things.
>when a abomination leaves, another one takes its place
Perfectly balanced
I am sure some contrarians will spring up once the show airs because the art style is similar to SU and other garbage that uses bean faces.
Have sex.
You know k.o's mother was thick too
Show still going faggot
Show still going. Thinks about it!
I'd say that OK KO was inoffensively charming. Bad on a technical level. But the aim of the show was to be fun and that's something that's sorely missing from modern cartoons. SU wanted to be big and epic and came off as somebody's bad fanfic.
That's why we got the ending we did.
Mark my words once CN finds a studio they'll try to make a season 8.
Dilate
And that is a good thing
I'll be specific, watch Not Interested and Outfoxed
The first few episodes I will honestly say are shit compared to the later ones.
Don't forget Boondocks for Adult swim as well as Primal and their Toonami lineup
seriously i haven´t met anyone IRL who liked this crap, or even in twitter only see the animators who work in it talking about it
