Kind of a big bunmer that we will never see any more gems in the context of the Empire. Sure, they may be stragglers or those who resist but we as an audience know that at the end of the day is going to be resolved and that it's rulers are not these huge, imposing treats that are seemly unbeatable.

I still don't understand why this has to be the case. Our original Crystal Gems are always separated from the new ones. Even when it doesn't make a whole lotta sense like you pointed out. It would be so much more engaging to treat them as one big team rather than the main characters and the Titans East that show up occasionally.

Lapis tried to kill and betrayed that same "friend", was assigned as an informant on the mission to Earth, and spent months needlessly and sadistically fusion raping the soldier she was assigned with who had her life ruined by the crystal gems, was seeking misguided justice against their leader that turned out to be a manipulative space empress/terrorist that lied to everyone and got thousands of her loyal gems killed in a war she started against herself, and was already a beaten non-threat at the time

Eleven minute episodes necessitate that kind of thing sadly. It's easier to use specific characters per episode than it is to have every single one in every single episode.

Well in the former case I guess Steven just did it so he could safely take her back to the CG's and then they decided to leave Bismuth in there. Gems don't age so they can take all the time to make a decision on how to handle her (which is why Steven is the one who eventually ends up unbubbling here since he realizes how shitty it is that Bismuth isn't there to celebrate Ruby and Sapphire's special day).

Pearl and Jasper already share similarities in how they devoted everything to Pink-Rose but felt weak and worthless and obsessed with compensating for it after losing her. Pearl would probably be even more similar to Jasper if she had been kept in the dark about Pink and Rose being the same person like she was. It could be foundation for some development together
