What are some good ongoing series at the moment? I prefer Marvel, but I wouldn't mind some good DC series. Right now I am really enjoying Daredevil by Zdarsky and Spencer's ASM. I want ongoings because I really like reading new issues every month, speculating online with others about what may happen next.
Stop reading the big 2. Perhaps stop reading cape stuff in general (at least for a while).
Gabriel Hall
The obvious answer is Immortal Hulk, so let me get that out of the way.
Benjamin Robinson
Yeah, be like this guy. Just lurk and shitpost in Marvel/DC threads, hot chicks will think you are super-cool!
Mason Flores
yeah give me some recs I should have also said that I would read *any* good ongoing. In fact I was provoked into making this thread by seeing the IDW Transformers thread that looked interesting. My fault for falling into the Marvel/DC dichotomy again, my bad. Yeah I said.

Read Hawkman and Conan, see shirtless musclemen have fun adventures.
Robert Evans
ty for recommendations, will check them out Was kinda curious about Conan, but I would have never looked at a Hawkman comic before.
Jayden Sanchez
>I would have never looked at a Hawkman comic before. Go read Tim Truman's Hawkworld miniseries right the fuck now. Follow it up by Ostrander's on-going series by the same name.
Okay but you realize that you're completely losing out on something very good because of your attachment to some ridiculous retcon despite the fact that all DC characters are subject to countless such things.
Which is why I generally stay away from DC, as I said in the OP. >b-but muh Marvel retcons like that time Nightcrawler said he never heard of a wallcrawler (in reference to Spider-Man) in Uncanny X-Men 106, even though he teamed up with Spider-Man previously in Amazing Spider-Man #161 and #162! yeah I'm a fanboy idc
Not to say I haven't read any DC shit, I've read Long Halloween, Red Son, All-Star Supermeme, and some others.
You don't read DC or Marvel, Carol story is more bloated and retconned than most DC characters, the X-men comics are a complete mess.
Logan Flores
Hickman X-men
Grayson Robinson
While I hate his version of the Joker, everything else about Snyder's Batman is pretty good, he's a bold fun writer.
Xavier Jones
dunno why other anons couldn't give you some recommendations. Anyway. House of X/ Powers of X Green Lantern Doctor Strange Might check Spencer Spider-man
Levi Sanders
oh and also Silver Surfer Black! Knull sucks but Moore is Amazing
Liam Wood
I'm sorry, what? Yeah, I don't really read DC, but I read like 7 Marvel issues a month, plus whatever old shit I am reading. idgaf about any Carol yeah I am so PISSED that Waid's Strange is getting cancelled. Fuck Marvel.
Alexander Green
Not reading something because of retcons is retarded. Literally who cares about the continuity? If a story is good then a story is good, none of it really happened anyway so who the fuck cares if some later writer decides to ignore it? Continuity can be fun and retcons can be frustrating but I've never understood why comicfags get so invested in this imaginary lore that never made any sense anyway. Peter Parker was in high school in the 60s and yet somehow he's only like 30 in the 2000s. It doesn't make sense and it doesn't fucking matter, just enjoy good stories on their own. Writers being shackled by nonsensical continuity is one of the biggest problems with the medium.
Ayden White
Excellent image, OP. Here are a bunch of ongoings I dig.
Marvel: Daredevil Immortal Hulk Captain America Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man Venom (Don't understand the hate it gets)
DC: DCeased Batman: Curse of the White Knight Batman: Last Knight on Earth (These are all minis, but most of DC's lineup is bland right now)
Image: Deadly Class Die East of West Black Monday Murders Headlopper Redneck Murder Falcon (it just finished and it's a lot of fun. Art is incredible)
Angel Thomas
>(These are all minis, but most of DC's lineup is bland right now) This is true, but those minis are all also bland
Grayson Stewart
Green Lantern, Shazam, Wonder Twins, Terrifics
Dylan Long
Bro, a Speedforce tornado made of all the Flashes in Last Knight and Bruce Wayne's ancestors fighting vampires are objectively not bland.
You may dislike the books, but they aren't boring, that's for sure
Mason Hernandez
bro that sounds like literally the first thing a writer would come up with in crunch time None of that sounds interesting or creative.
Cooper Ward
I can see where you're coming from, but both examples were just icing on compelling stories. Guess we just disagree.
What ongoings are you liking right now?
Angel Thompson
And in Justice League Starro is now a Robin and Lex has absorbed Martian Manhunter and so on.
Synder keeps trying to do these "COMICS!" moments but they're all bland.
Benjamin Brooks
I don't like his Justice League, even though I dig a lot of his work. Still waiting to hear what ongoings ya like, though.
Bentley Evans
bro, just stfu. Dc is boring af. Marvel has consistently come out with top notch stuff that isn't as boring and bland as Snyder's shit. So yea we disagree
Parker Moore
Hickman's X-men is the big one. I'm reading Green Lantern because I need my Morrison fix, but it's meh.
Ryder Adams
Give some examplers of more creative uses of superpowers in the other big two comics released this couple of months.
Joseph Brown
Well you think that DC is boring, I think that Marvel is boring, those are opinions not facts.
Daniel Torres
First thing that came to mind, since I had it in my screenshots folder that I was organizing yesterday. Spider-Man Life Story #3.
Did you miss the part where I listed a bunch of Marvel and Image books? Stop the console wars bullshit
House of X is pretty dope! I'm still sceptical about the whole thing, but I have faith in Hickman. Morrison is hit or miss for me, and his Lantern is unique, but pretty meh. We3 and his Batman epic are amazing, though
Joshua Davis
>I am so PISSED that Waid's Strange is getting cancelled. Brevoort said that the series isn't getting outright canceled, it's probably renaming because something "big" is happening Inb4 Strange dies. If I'm going to guess, it's probably coming back in November (Series ends in September, Annual/Filler in October)
Alexander Jackson
cbr.com/marvel-doctor-strange-cancelled/ It doesn't appear to be a death, but it looks like someone else will be Sorcerer Supreme IMO. inb4 Stephanie Strange'ness, the new young witch from Harlem.
