Tulip is best girl

Finally a western cartoon girl who isn't
>Manic pixie dream girl I wanted to be/wanted to date in high school
>stereotypical anime girl knock off
>Mary Sue who's good at everything, does a lot of wrong but will still be treated like she can do no wrong
>girl who's not like those /other girls/ (is exactly like those other girls)
It's been so long since we've had a female character with expressed flaws, agency, personality, an actual arc. It's been so long since I've seen a female character be well written I thought it had become impossible.

This one's for tulip, truly best girl.

Tulip and Anne both a breath of fresh air in term of female cartoon leads.

>All those archetypes
I raise you one hyperautist

I'll spoonfeed you this once as a reward for your curiosity.

From the pilot she's just point one and two so I avoided.

How good is this show from 1-10 was thinking of picking it up.

thats a boy

I really enjoyed Amphibia. I wouldn't give it 10 but it's well executed.

>How good is this show from 1-10 was thinking of picking it up.
Amphibia? It's maybe a 7. One of the bigger flaws I noticed is that there's only one season out so far and some ideas already got repeated. For exemple, one episode is about Anne going out of her way to improve a restaurant which ends with the chef trying to serve a giant monster while it's still alive, then towards the end of the season she goes out of her way to throw a spectacular party which also ends with that same chef trying to serve a giant monster alive.

>Mary Sue who's good at everything
But OP, she IS a Mary Sue who's good at everything, except she has a bit of emotional issues about her parents' divorce for which she is not to blame. She's so goddamn near perfect it's sickening.

That's a callback, user.

>he's just point one and two
>>Manic pixie dream girl I wanted to be/wanted to date in high school
>>stereotypical anime girl knock off
yikes thats a hard miss. reggie is disgusting and autistic as fuck. watching her interact with other characters is literally cringy

>she IS a Mary Sue who's good at everything
>literally would have gotten her self killed in almost every episode so far if not for side characters
When I say Mary Sue I mean a character with a lack of flaws who's treated as special because they're the showrunner's escapist fantasy not "character user doesn't like.". Tulip is clever but she's emotionally unstable, impulsive, and headstrong. No one idealizes themselves with flaws that glaring and self destructive.

Fair enough, maybe I'll give the full series a watch after amphibia.

tfw no tulip gf

You must have missed Amphibia. Everything above fits Anne to a tee. Tulip is the stereotypical smart girl we always see in cartoons. She's too generic to be best girl.
Anne > Tulip

She cute but she lacks trains, frogs or cannon /ll/

>Tulip is clever but she's emotionally unstable, impulsive, and headstrong
Uh no, she's actually very stable, reasoned, and adaptable. Are we watching the same show? Or are you just retarded?

Her entire shit got started because she was gonna walk 300 miles to coding camp because she was mad at her parents.

What about Anne?

this >mystery starts coming together
>ignores it and actively stops trying real progression because she doesn't want to confront her emotions
>still only alive because of subtle advice from orb robot and dog
> stable, reasoned, and adaptable
You seem to not be watching the show or you genuinely aren't smart enough to grasp even the most basic character nuance and the moment Tulip progresses in anyway your small brain percieves it as "unga bunga she not fail, she mary sue." missing out on all the things that led her to the success which often involved overcoming or mitigating a flaw.

The antiphibian crowd is panicking, grasping at straws and trying to paint Tulip as a mary sue best girl because we're already halfway through IT's first season and it's obvious IT won't be matching Amphibia for nuanced psychological complexity.

Cutie

Flatness is perfection

That's ONE mistake, and from then on she beat every single obstacle she faced with little to no effort. She's not overcoming anything, she's just perfect to begin with, except for her inner turmoil about the divorce.

The girl eats onions raw. That’s not normal.

Yes!

Truth

On a scale of manic pixie (Star) to hyperautist (Reggie) Tulip is smack dab in the middle. She’s the most boring, milquetoast character you could imagine.

ANNE!
