rule #1: do not piss off the robot maid

Hello, Storyteller.

Green Lantern was decent today. Very much a set up issue, but it had some nice moments.

>Anna
I really hope I didn't call her being a manchurian agent. That would just be sad.

NICE

Hey boss.
I hate getting sweaty. It makes a beeline from my forehead right into my damn eyes.

Panel 2 is super cute.

Robobenihana.

House of X is my kinda batshit so far desu

“Your mutation is reincarnation” 10/10

My hope is that her inevitable betrayal is short lived as her love program overrides her treason application and she sides with Gen13 in the end.

>Smelly Mecha
>Antisocial Gearhead Disorder

Why are these IO splinters named like ska punk bands?

>tfw you will never have a cheerful robot maid who gleefully slaughters evildoers

Attached: Gen13#71p10.jpg (944x1488, 263K)

There was so little chance of Adam Warren not bringing her back when he became the regular writer. A hyper violent sexy robot maid is basically his weeaboo spirit animal.

OH! Those mysterious biker chicks who were looking for their sister. Okay, I see.

Seems like it's going to be more of a "family of birth VS family of choice" kind of deal. Both tropes are cheesy as fuck, but still welcome.

lemire wanting to work with Sorrentino is one thing, but why the fuck does he like Deodato Jr so much?

that's a lazy-ass page

Attached: Gen13#71p12.jpg (950x1482, 299K)

"Draws" six pages a day?

Immortal Hulk was a set up issue too. Also Hickman is doing a soft reboot to the mutants but I can't still figure out how is that gonna affect the rest of the Marvel universe.

OH, it's her evil twin Skippy

Attached: Gen13#71p13.jpg (956x1478, 270K)

>entire page consists of FOUR repeated panels
Oh absolutely go fuck yourself.

>why the fuck does he like Deodato Jr so much?
Why does anybody like Deodato Jr.? And don't say 'lol cheesecake', because that's some pathetically low standards for cheesecake.

I'm guessing some sort of multiple timelines thing will resolve it.

I have to make it hypertime to work for me. I apply the logic of the future timelines but to the “present” if DOFP and Age of Apocalypse can both be the future lifelines 1-10 can also be the present.

I do hope Hickman like explains everything, well most everything, in these minis and it’s not a Johns “buy the next arc to find out” loop

>And don't say 'lol cheesecake', because that's some pathetically low standards for cheesecake.
Man, the DC forums on the collectededitions website has a wealth of information, but they also have the oddest takes.
One recent one was wondering why WML Wondy is getting collected when the "best part" of it already has.
Other weird takes that i've seen include that the Byrne Doom Patrol is fantastic, and that the Proty retcon was one of the best bits of 5YL

Attached: Gen13#71p14.jpg (960x1496, 281K)

How much fucking gen13 is there? I've been scrolling past these threads for what seems like months.

77 issues of this

Attached: Gen13#71p15.jpg (960x1478, 290K)

>Immortal Hulk says trans rights
>Yea Forums predictably rees
Anyway, I can't imagine what you'd do to make mutants make any damn sense at this point.

And frankly, they need to stop with this "X will make waves throughout the entire Marvel/DC universe!" crap. A shared universe doesn't have to every little thing affect each other.

>the Proty retcon was one of the best bits of 5YL

WHAT THE ACTUAL FUCK

Attached: Gen13#71p16.jpg (948x1490, 284K)

Yep. I don't remember where it was exactly, but it is somewhere in the "what do we want from losh?" thread a little before Bendis LoSH was announced

>Other weird takes that i've seen include that the Byrne Doom Patrol is fantastic, and that the Proty retcon was one of the best bits of 5YL

Were these by the same delusional weirdo?

We've only been doing 2 issues a night mostly, and OP's work schedule means we aren't on daily.

>One recent one was wondering why WML Wondy is getting collected when the "best part" of it already has.
>and that the Proty retcon was one of the best bits of 5YL
... Oh you fuckin' wot, mate.

Pretty much the moment Huckman leaves everything will be retconned into alternate timelines and possible futures even when he said otherwise. Also I am pretty sure the moment he leaves the next writer will go back to the basics and have the same old same old O5 plus Wolverine fighting Magneto, evil mutants and evil humans.

yeah, work >>>> everything else, unfortunately

I love my PS2 deeply, still

Attached: Gen13#71p17.jpg (958x1486, 244K)

I can only imagine that those people either never read the earlier parts or don't really care about Wondie in the first place so were only there for cheesecake and the Chauvinist

Someone's already planning Decimation 2.0 since Hickman's going with the "mutants are growing at a fast pace" plot line again.
Mutants can never lose that minority stand-in status

The new Doom Patrol series feels like a fanfic of Morrison's Patrol.

Mutants got broken conceptually by House of M, and have been trapped in a never ending cycle of uninteresting genocidal doomsday storylines.

And sadly, a part of comic books becoming more serious and interconnected is that every damn story needs to be a world changing epic that reinvents the damn wheel.

Attached: Gen13#71p18.jpg (954x1482, 281K)

Yeah, I suppose a Proty Lad fan WOULD like Bendis.

Attached: Gen13#71p21.jpg (952x1496, 228K)

You know, I have been wondering, would Adam Warren like RWBY? I mean he is a huge weeb and RWBY is basically everything weebs like the most from anime.

Attached: Gen13#71p22.jpg (950x1476, 229K)

>Mutants got broken conceptually by House of M, and have been trapped in a never ending cycle of uninteresting genocidal doomsday storylines.
To be "fair", storyline recycling is a virulent problem in comics, especially capes. One of the big reasons for that, I think, is that mostly the same people from decades ago are writing the current stuff, and they're not encouraged to come up with new ideas.

>And sadly, a part of comic books becoming more serious and interconnected is that every damn story needs to be a world changing epic that reinvents the damn wheel.
Maybe they should be less serious and interconnected then. Maybe superhero comics should be more focused on adventures and actually exploring the concepts of the individual series and the greater issue of vigilantism. But that's not powerlevel-y enough, I guess.

>Other weird takes that i've seen include that the Byrne Doom Patrol is fantastic, and that the Proty retcon was one of the best bits of 5YL
I am sure those are Byrne and Levitz shitposting.

and now, a piece of comics history nostalgia

what a cover

>Mutants got broken conceptually by House of M, and have been trapped in a never ending cycle of uninteresting genocidal doomsday storylines.
This sounds like something The Empty Hand would do. A shame Hickman isn't going full meta with them.

Attached: Gen13#72p01.jpg (970x1472, 268K)

are there any other good books that came out today besides the big ones everyone knows about?
are there any controversies in the industry that I missed on today?

More like ''that's not deep enough''.

Anyone else think it's weird that Anna's evil sisters keep referring to the 'meat' as 'wet'? Like, machines as complex as they are would likely have oil and coolant lines.

Then again, they're two-dimensional villains who only exist to give Anna some character development, so they're INT and WIS scores probably aren't that great.

why has Adam Warren not written X-Men

I don't know enough Latin to understand that shirt,

That switchblade tongue is absolutely /d/.

"If you can read this, you're overeducated"

The worst part is that these hacks legitimately think this EPIC bullshit is actually deep and compelling material. Fucks sake.

Probably. It'd be hard to blame him too, cause it seems like a good bit of cheese.

She has a motif, and she's gonna stick to it, dammit!

>Caitlin in that thuggish outfit
Hot, but it's not actually intimidating, because she's Caitlin. It's hard to take buff nerds all that seriously.

I wish the scans for these were better

this is the most ridiculous excuse for cheesecake ever in a comic

Attached: Gen13#72p13.jpg (960x1490, 221K)

Somebody pick up the phone. Cause I FUCKING CALLED IT!

>overly excessive enthusiasm
Anna, pls.

It can be deep when done right, but when's every story that it's done is the same ''everything will not be the same'' it becomes a cheap gimmick and most of these writers don't know how to write epics also.

...I love you, Adam Warren.

Attached: Gen13#72p14.jpg (948x1482, 232K)

Well this is either Benes or Warren idea.

I actually, no joke, legit lol'd.

There's also the fact that you kinda need to have a status quo in the first place before you can shake it up. The "nothing will ever be the same" fails to have any impact when major changes happen every other week.

Starting with the cheesecake and pivoting to Grunge's package is very self-aware Warren

F

thanks for reading, back SUNDAY

Attached: Gen13#72p22.jpg (956x1504, 252K)

thanks OP, this Warren guy seems pretty creative

It is nice to read a comic where things happen.

Same. Same with robo guro. Like, I get it's not necessarily as big a deal, but it still looks really painful and sad. Poor Anna.

>semi-sociopathic
Though, her still being a bit cheeky makes this slightly less gross.

He is. He is a good writer who also happens to be a huge weeaboo. His series ''Empowered'' is basically a manga done by an american.

this is the best comic storytimed here today

>241 confirmed kills

Attached: giphy.gif (612x344, 1.09M)

He's also become an absolutely fantastic artist, though Empowered! still sticks to his classic manga aesthetic.

Absolute Carnage came out tho

If it wasn't for the fish lips, I would love his manga aesthetic.

Thanks for posting as always, Storyteller.

Mabye this is machine bias, but Anna is competing with Caitlin for the position of best girl.

Right? It's frankly exhausting how much fuck all goes on in most mainstream books these days.

>There's also the fact that you kinda need to have a status quo in the first place before you can shake it up. The "nothing will ever be the same" fails to have any impact when major changes happen every other week.

For a long time now, a lot of big two comics have just been lurching from shake up to shake up.
It isn't quite as bad as it was way, 5-10 years ago, when every single storyline was six issues long, but it's still got no room for the small stuff and supporting casts that make stories have verisimilitude.

Thanks for running as always, OP.

I can't help but feel this dimwit doesn't deserve an F.

Even when things don't happen in this comic more happens than modern ones.

>but it's still got no room for the small stuff and supporting casts that make stories have verisimilitude.
That's what I liked most about the Superbooks in the 1990s. It would have been a pain to buy week to week, but the work they did on his supporting cast was great.
Turns out 48 issues a year, plus annuals and specials, really helps flesh out a cast

Especially when one of the major storylines of the day was one that was literally all about how Superman not being there affected his support it cast.

you're right, this was the best comic storytimed here today
