This is off to a weaker start for the first series than the first series.

The first one worked simply because it was an Archie comic the Predator was inserted into after which it went completely off the rails. That was like how the first film was an action film a murderous alien fell into and the second was a cop film that a murderous alien fell into.

That said, this totally matches the direction of the Predator franchise after the second film where everything is about them and expanding on the Predators rather than finding an interesting scenario to put them into and the inhabitants of that world's reaction to them.

Weaker start for the first issue I meant.

I don't know what I expected from a sequel to this series, but I sure as hell didn't expect a commentary on the death/homogenization of the Archie brand. Kind of makes up for Aguirre-Sacasa fucking off to make Riverdale.

For the Veronica, Betty, & PredatorArchie from the last series, sure. It would have been especially neat since it seems like they'd be juxtaposed against reboot Archie characters drawn in a modern style.

It's a sequel after everyone died. There wasn't really material to work with. I'm kind of impressed they actually managed something.
