At least he had a memorable end.
From the thumbnail on my phone I thought he was Destruction
Donna Troy likes him.
I have never seen a character more universally regarded as lame than Grayven.
>blocks your path
Does Firefly even have fans?
He was cool in Batgirl: Year One, which already disqualifies him from this thread
You could tell that even the writers hated her.
He has a cool design sometimes. He's in most of those big lineup images. His general theme is cool. Not everyone needs to be a hit but he fills a niche.
HOT TAKE: Harper is better than Duke
nigger people love him are you even trying?
I got one
And in Knightfall, where he'd upgraded and Batman was already running on empty. He might not have obsessive fans, but he's the type of B-list villain that people will like just because they have a cool costume and a straightforward gimmick.
And another
Gay Iceman
Well shit, looks like ol Firefly does have a small fanbase
Aunt fucking May. DIE ALREADY
Remember this guy? Well Marvel wish you didn't.
I will never understand why some people go to their grave believing that creating a literal who where their entire origin is "I was totally there from the beginning but [timey wimey]" makes for a good character when their presence actively fucks with continuity. Especially when their only defining character trait is "I was around in the beginning and now I am so taken aback at the state of affairs/You forgot about me REEEEEE!"
You might like Warbird, but you probably dont like Captain Marvel
But that's not her origin?
Most Batman's villains have their own little charm, even the lame ones.
That being said...
it'll never end.
Fuck you nigger...Yea Forums LOVES wheatcakes!
Hey, i like her.
Great lady.
Just wish she'd stay dead. I feel the same about Barry Allen.
reread the op, dummies.
So the only way to make Aunt May likable is to turn her into Alfred.
Marv Wolfman had more than one of these, it seems.
people like this dude
i like this dude
You guys are wrong though, I remember Yea Forums waifuing her and praising BASED Waid/Ewing for doing continuity porn
who that
Cousin Oliver.
Literally who?
Wasn't that her altering memories, or did it get changed?
If you actually read the story, you would know Voyager's claim of being a 'lost' founding Avenger was all a lie. No Surrender and No Road Home did get her some fans who waifu her. Avengers Academy may have helped with that.
Wolfman really tries to convince anyone who'll listen that Danny was SUPPOSED to be unlikable at first but then would become 'the hero within'.
He's full of shit.
You would expect Yea Forums to be the one place where Wolfman would get a kind of envious respect for marrying his waifu, but even here Terry Long is hated.
Did Marvel seriously expected that people would like this guy?
No one likes self-inserts.
poor taste
She wasn't bad her problem nobody not even the like 4 writers involved in her creation use her outside the event books she's in.
Done.
Theres still no one that likes gay iceman or captain marvel in the comics, what now?
You must be from an alternate universe.
Welcome. But you should go back if you can, it sucks here.
Gee i wonder why.
ppl like Superior Spider-Man though.
Fuck that creepy old man and his ugly kids
In fairness, Marvel editorial decided to cut the Avengers line down to one book, so any Avengers characters Aaron didn't want to use have been stuck in limbo for 2 years now, with the No Road Home mini being the exception.
They've launched West Coast Avengers and Savage Avengers, but few 'classic' Avengers appear in either.
I liked Triumph when Priest was writing him. I wish he got to do more with him before all the other writers collective hate boner for the character fucked him up permanently.
If they're really going through the entire spectrum of Hulks, I'm curious how he'll be handled in Immortal Hulk.
whats the story with Danny?
He can't keep getting away with it!!
>new OC is introduced to an ensemble cast
>is a total asshole and know it all
>I think also has some bullshit superpower
>is apparently supposed to be some kind of self insert for the audience but the audience fucking hates him
>writer kills him off in some terrible way to cover their ass
All of this is second hand knowledge, but that's the basic gist of it.
She's a cute. Guess I need to watch Titans.
Yes, the namefag is just wrong.
Wolfman has nothing on Dini. I'm convinced that Morrison taught him how to use chaos sigils.
One-panel author insert of Gabby Rivera, and yet in that one panel she manages to make herself incredibly obnoxious.
I'll never get why some people love to ruin panels by adding pointless gutters.
That's because you're a casual.
>He's never going to share the secret of how he made his waifu real, and married her
He could help so many people
Holy shit that’s some Hypertime bullshit. Marv wolfman writes himself as his waifu’s husband and now he’s besides his waifu’s actress 35 years later?
Yes, I am, so please explain why this shit is done, because I don't get it.
Hang on, I liked Terry for the narrative device that he was, not for the well written character that he wasn't. I think he gets an undeserved bad rap.
He served his purpose of keeping Donna out of the relationship drama that was engulfing every character in that book, which meant that whenever the Titans poured their heart to Donna the reader was now able to see their inner turmoil without thought bubbles.
He was an author insert who was banging the hot brunette of the team, after reading a lot of modern comics, he's incredibly mild.
He never stops the plot to deliver an unsolicited speech
He never tries to fight the villain because he knows his girlfriend/wife has super powers.
He never becomes the key to defeating evil overlord while bathed in light
He never gains superpowers then outshines the team with his own powers.
The worst he gets is that Robin says Terry is more of a man than him which is true because Terry has a stable job, a 401k and his lovelife is not actively ruining either of those things.
So as far as hated characters go, I rather like Terry.
He was supposed to be a young teen to help boost demographics and make it more relateable (because at that point it was more like Twenty-Something Titans than Teen)> So naturally he made a fun relatable teen character based on himself. Unfortunately teenage Marv Wolfman was an asshole so the character was an asshole too.
Danny had two powers:
1. Telekinesis - the ability to move objects with his mind
2. Writer's pet- the ability to make all the characters in the story stop and stare in awe when you say the most banal shit.
Danny died better than he lived. His time as Phantasm was the best time because he rarely talked.
Also
> Dies in another dimension while merged with another being
> Geoff Johns brings him back in Blackest night to kill him again
Time had healed that wound.
I'd assume it's to demonstrate a sort of disconnect between nightwing and what's happening to him. that it's segmented and compartmentalized but i'm not a draftsmen
That's a really stupid reason.
Boi do I hate Perpetua.
Oh yes, Roguen Seth.
Snyder needs to be stopped
People who don't really read comics like her.
Kek
And it was used to break up Kyle and Dana
Does he even count yet? He's pretty new and plus Bendis characters are easy modo
I didn't like her but I don't hate her.
She's just female Tim Drake.
Sure he counts, unless you think some writer is cooking up the next great Roger Zoom saga
I thought she was ok in ultimates. That being said I haven't ever read her solo, and probably never will.
My favorite thing is that he saw flames as these hot-babes and during a fight with Batman, Bruce for a split second was able to the fire as hot babes as well proving that Bruce really is fucking mentally ill
Duke isn't even that bad. batman who laughs on the other hand is a lame villain who needs to go away forever
What issue was that?
Uhh I don't remember, I know the story arc was basically Firefly was out of prison and had an apartment where he found a QT girl as his neighbor and eventually struck up a relationship with her.
More known because of the storytime, but still heavily underrated
Fuck you for reminding me this thing still exists
See
That doesn't change the fact that it's a stupid reason. If you're going to make 4 panels, then make 4 separate panels. If you're going to make one big panel don't add some fucking gutter to ruin it.
Not to mention how the whole page looks too bland using the same limited palette for the whole thing.
I like Terry. He was the "ordinary person" viewpoint character.
Was he a cocky asshole?
Not even Slott likes him.
Almost a decade of existence and not a single good story.
he got a good movie
It simulates the passage of time, because you slow down to take in every panel individually instead of taking in the whole image at once. It's often poorly used, though.
Where the only noteworthy parts were the animation and Peter. There's a reason why they had to rely on Spider-Verse shenanigans over Miles' nothingness of a character.
t.casual
He's good in Champions.
No she was interesting and shouldn't have fizzled out like she did so quickly
What? Miles was nice in the movie? it was the best thing ever done to his character
Fair choice, but the problem is that Marv liked him in the first place.
Is there a character both Fans AND the creator hate?
She was fine, and a fun homage to Triumph.
Who hates their own creation unironically?
Most creators seem to end up hating what they've made sooner or later. If only out of regret for the things they could have done better.
Thank you. God DAMN did I hate this bitch.
Just WHY?
Count me in too.
>and his ugly kids
they look normal
that was in poor taste
JMS Aunt May was GOAT, glad the Spider-Verse one was a lot like her
That's 100% accurate.
Latina Bobby Hill
She's not effeminate enough to be Bobby Hill.
I wonder why Byrne hated Wolfman so much, going by this and that Blade trial transcript
But I like him. That mini is fucking based
I liked Duke in We Are Robin but when he was brought into the mainline Bat books I started to lose interest.
I like Duke, just not enough to follow anything he's in.
How can he even fucking see?
why everytime a black guy becomes batman his suit is a fucking carnival cringefeast?
Because the character of Batman makes no sense except as a rich white guy.
What a faggot
harper and duke are good as heroic-citizen.
Hey, that's Linkara's favourite character.
Also, Wolfman created Raven, who is Yea Forums's favourite.
Are those jumper cables going to be connected to that stupid metal in her face? If so I'll buy this comic.
Wolfman created a lot of good shit but he also created a lot of shit shit, too.
I can only think that the people who hate her are the ones who didn't read the series, because she was really interesting the two times she showed up and I was one of the super-skeptical people before her premier in how they were marketing her, it actually was real good and I felt kind of dumb for being so negative before I saw it play out, but it's not like Marvel has built much trust this last decade.
Does Terry die? I honestly can’t stand the dickhead. Dude just screams mid life crisis boomer
Why she even exist?
In portuguese his name remember A LOT "I will cum"
Superman
I seem to recall someone here saying they liked him.
They might have been taking the piss, though
>that Blade trial transcript
the what?
>poor taste
I always found it hilariously callous
>because Terry has a stable job
user...Terry lost his teaching gig when he couldn't write his master's thesis on mythology when he was fucking MARRIED to an Amazon.
>Unfortunately teenage Marv Wolfman was an asshole so the character was an asshole too.
After meeting Wolfman in person I can concur
So Terry was financially secure after suing the fuck out of the university for them disallowing him to write his master's thesis and firing him because of it?
I can't help but feel like this character could be saved if he was updated for a modern setting. Have him show up in a new Titans adaptation where he's in his late 20s or very early 30s and Donna is, say, 21 to make it less creepy. Then have him be the audience surrogate who actually contributes to the team beyond being "that guy who bones Donna." If you really want to connect with boomers, make him your typical cynical millennial and have him acknowledge that being with Donna and the rest of the TT is probably the best thing to ever happen to him because his life is so shitty and boring otherwise.
Just some stupid thoughts. I think you could do a lot with him, and I like the idea of a relationship with a noticeable age difference being portrayed in a positive way in capeshit. It's a shame he's perpetually stuck in skeevy 70s dad mode, tho.
No..he was lazy and couldn't find inspiration to do it.
How'd he manage to get in a master's program in the first place? Why the fuck was he a professor when he didn't even have a master's?
my main problem with her is mostly the same problem I have with Duke and Damian. the Batfam is too fucking big.
The problem is that it makes logical sense for a large Batfamily, major cities are very large, can be difficult to cross quickly or easily, and needing to keep tabs on multiple supervillains and criminal gangs, along with being able to react to any sudden occurrences would favor a network of operatives. The logical solution would be that even though the Batfamily is large, they're not necessarily all in play simultaneously. Bruce might be in the game 24/7, but everyone else has things like jobs and social lives that they need to keep going and can't be expected, or able, to immediately drop everything and go fight Penguin. The problem is that writers aren't willing to swap characters out between stories, so you'll either get a really crowded Batfamily with characters would could easily be cut from stories, or an incredibly tiny Batfamily that leaves you wondering why they didn't just call for help instead of struggling.
Batman
A fat short white woman that thinks she is hispanic and pretends to be hispanic.
>Latina Bobby Hill
I think you mean "Latinx"
Superman
Can we have just one new story with zero plot device characters?
Oh wow, I completely forgot about him. Was he ever mentioned again? Or unceremoniously killed in the background?
What was his name again?
He and his kids die in Zero Hour, if I recall. Blown up in their car. Donna gave zero fucks and Roy Harper calls her out way later.
Is there some reason Donna is never part of the main cast of any of the Titans cartoons?
He was teaching freshmen classes which his tier sometimes does...how do you think he met Donna?
Her origin is just too fucked up and DC only wants blonde Wonder Girl to ship with Conner's Superboy.
>We alone?
>Forever and ever
Fucking cringe.
Welcome to comic book dialogue
I have an idea for a Barbara-Duke duo book I really want to write someday. No, they don't fuck in it.
give us a rundown
>Barbara and Duke are both forced out of Gotham due to particular shenanigans with Bruce and told to hang up their masks
>Both say fuck that and form their own dynamic duo: Oracle and the Signal, and move to the worst city in America, Hub City.
>Their plan is to use Barbara's history as an information broker and Duke's proficiency with grassroots vigilante movements to start a new movement in Hub City to overthrow the gangs and instill justice that the corrupt cops won't enforce alone.
>They gather disaffected youths, and try to recreate the Robin movement Duke led while sabotaging the gangs and pitting them against one another. Barbara coordinates their efforts and manipulates the spread of information to conceal their existence.
>Surprise cameos from Duke's former brothers-in-arms from the run, who are now enforcers in the various gangs and out to take him down.
>But the big monkey wrench is the Question, who intercedes partway through the run and rather than helping Barbara and Duke guns for them and tries to dismantle their whole operation.
>He believes that either Barbara or Duke is planning to betray the other and seize control of all the organized crime in Hub City to become its kingpin, and their incoming coup will spark a gang war that will get everyone killed.
>He's right, partly. Duke is running a scheme with his "former" friends to spring coups on all the big gangs at once, controlling - and shutting down - all organized crime, without Barbara's knowledge. But they're in over their heads, and only Question realizes how badly this will blow up in their faces.
>Three-way detective showdown as Barbara and Duke are torn apart by suspicion and mistrust and Question races to stop the worst gang war in Hub history.
not bad
Because you faggots wouldn't stop memeing female Darkseid. Enjoy your monkey's paw wish, jizzheads.
Unfortunately casuals fucking love him so expect to eventually see him in all the Batmedia outside of comics.
Of course people love him he's Batman + the Joker, DC's two biggest characters rolled into one. It's also stupid as fuck but what are you gonna do, it prints money.
Somehow I imagine him continuously showing up to the offices asking when Terry is going to be introduced cause he knows the perfect guy.
I love Harper!
.
Cassie is only in the YJ cartoon right? She’s with Tim there.
Naw, I liked her. She still has potential.
bait
Because the skin tone of the chin has to be different than the color of the suit. The only alternatives are to go without a full cowl or to go with a Black Panther setup
>Latinx
I think you mean "White"
it's the 2nd post in the thread
fuck this asshole
post it
I forgot about him for the most part t.b.h.
Movie Mile might as well be a different character. He has next to nothing similar to comic Mile
KEKHOLD KEKHOLD, GET YOUR KEKHOLD HERE
SIR, CAN I INTEREST YOU WITH A FRESH KEKHOLD
her design is cool at least
Don't you have a stolen idol to search for?
that twist was great, i always hated how they did hush in the original manga.
Someone in DC editorial has a massive skank fetish.
This is a problem with most of Marvel's B-List female characters.
They were designed first and foremost as the token girl/love interest character, which means they were usually married by the turn of the century, which meant that when Marvel wanted to promote them and send them on a solo adventure and the writers want to turn them into the relationship drama-loving singletons they love writing they promptly split them up from their old husband and have them fuck his friends.
It feels like he's trying to be Ewing in regard of him trying to make BS cosmic entities and creating new histories for the DC universe. But doing it worst.
Ewing fag
Joker's Daughter was an attempt to push the envelope on how shit-tastic something Joker-related could be and still sell. It was a BIT too far. They dialed it back a bit and found a good, trashy compromise.
>Also, Wolfman created Raven, who is Yea Forums's favourite.
Yea Forums only likes Murakami's Raven though.
Yea Forums pretended to give a shit and get mad when comic Raven kissed black Wally.
Terry Long is too redheaded to be played by anyone who isn't black.
I thought red-headed negroes were a thing?
Batman
Why don't more people call out that he's a Judge Death rip-off?
