Can we finally stop pretending like anyone gives a shit about Cyborg?

He's definitely a diversity hire. I have no idea why, a big dude with chrome machine parts should be awesome, but it's hard for me to see him as cool.
I know a lot of people like him in 2003 Titans and Doom Patrol.
>Nobodies favorite Titan
>Nobodies favorite Doom Patroler
>Nobodies favorite Leaguer
I loved his fratboy version at teen titans cartoon
I loved his big bro clown version from TTG
I loved his manchild version from lego
I loved his Doom Patrol version more than all the other
I hate his comic version, his only personality trait in the comics is sometimes being sad.
They should had modernize Cyborg and made him a transhuman that actually looks like a human. His Cyborg form is something that he can transform into in order to access his Cyborg powers. Sort of like Omac.
Titans Cyborg is the only one worth a damn. Haven't seen doom patrol yet
Because Cyborg has all of two stories
>Muh Dad
>Muh robot body
That's about it
I like Cyborg. I just think he sucks as a Justice League.
Cyborg is the most interesting to me when he is "incomplete" and desperately tries to grow and fill what he lacks, even if he may be both skilled and accomplished outside of that.
Him being unbalanced basically. But that works when he is on the Titans or whatever, but in the Justice League he either comes across as a giant fuckup compared to the others, or they "complete" him to the point where is almost flawless and he just becomes absolutely boring.
He is a very one dimensional character. Even though teen titans 2003, go, justice's league war, and doom patrol were the best iteration of the character.
Why not just make a black OMAC and put him on the Justice League? Say the government or GPA mandated a watchdog hero. Have him be a bureaucrat when not OMACtivated and then be a Frankenstein (Morrison) style warrior poet when on.
>Mr Nobody's favorite Doom Patroler
Fixed
>to prove that nobody cares about cyborg
>i will make a thread about cyborg
He is the best Titan.
Gentlemen
How do we fix Cyborg?
>Haha, I am very clever making a post pointing out the supposed flaws in a thread
DC always makes bizarre decisions with their company events and their team books. It just made so much sense for the teen titans to eventually become just titans, and Cyborg as their leader, he is a terrible replacement for Martian Manhunter; Cyborg was only ever good in dynamic with Beast Boy.
No matter what universe you're talking, that is has never been true.
Make him a relatable minority that actually have to deal with the social-economic problems of being what he is. Cyborg is a privilege black man that got everything handed down to him.
>nobodies favorite titan
He was my favorite in the 2003 cartoon.
As a JL member he sucks tho.
Cyborg's problem is the fact that he is basically walking around naked all the time. He is a perverted degenerate. He ain't no hero.
People liked him in the teen titans cartoon, but he's nothing but a deus ex in everything else. They just use his technology to move the stories forward when they don't know what to do. If they wanted a better diversity pick they should be using Vixen more but having magic technology is a writing crutch
Always found it weird how they made him a main Justice Leaguer.
He feels out of place.
>It just made so much sense for the teen titans to eventually become just titans, and Cyborg as their leader,
Then people will be complaining about why he is the leader and not Dick Grayson. Also he was house-mom to the Teen Titans to the point that he was part of their security. All people want Cyborg to do is to serve as the big, strong black jock that gets no love interest and screams his catchphrase "Boo-ya" when fighting
>All people want Cyborg to do is to serve as the big, strong black jock that gets no love interest and screams his catchphrase "Boo-ya" when fighting
Why not make him the jock everyone loves but with love interest stories and development?
Because that would take away time from all the other Titans stories like Donna deciding whether or not to meet with Wonder Woman and ask her "Why do I exist?" or them dealing with another Titan death, Trigon invading for the 300th time, Dick Grayson relationship woes, Garth having problems "adulting" and other stuff that is more important than making Cyborg a better character.
I actually like him, but not enough to by a book because of him.
He's self repairing.
He's cool on Titans, but I just find machine related characters boring, I never liked androids or cyborgs or any sort, not even RoboCop. I prefer the armor/driver approach like Iron Man (without extremis).
With spare parts
Haven't seen Doom Patrol but I liked him in Titans as a kid.
I think all other iterations in media have been fucking boring characters with zero personality and often terrible acting or voice acting.
So much wrong with Cyborg as a character.
Painfully generic name, costume, and powerset. Thats the kiss of death for a comic character, its the foundation of anything that could potentially be built upon the concept.
Oh, and the powerset is beyond generic, its fluctuates across various shades of genericness. I liked the idea of his tech being tied into New Genesis tech but nobody ever did anything interesting with it. At best, he became the "taxi" team member, about as interesting of a character concept as a Quinjet.
The woe-is-me pathos just doesn't play with this sort of character. Half the readers would *sign up* to carve away flesh to take Victor's place. The downer aspect doesn't mesh with the technological aspect which tends to be upbeat. Maybe if you went cyberpunk-cyborg, otherwise its a bad combo.
If the writers weren't using him as the JL taxi, they were using him as a portable Bat-computer. Victor would provide a wealth of data and Bats would get to pull it all together and reach the conclusion. Can't have anyone being smarter than Bats!
Honestly, Cyborg is a study in how to do every single thing wrong with a comicbook character. Just an awful, awful mess that gets *worse* over time.
>All people want Cyborg to do is to serve as the big, strong black jock that gets no love interest
Cyjinx is life motherfucker
Don't forget that he has to hit those showers.
I like him when he's the tech guy on a team up but he's not interesting enough to have him as the lead of any book.
Ideally he should be part of the Batverse and replace Lucius Fox.
He could also join Batman in the field against bigger foes like Solomon Grundy or Darkseid.
He can hack in to the internet and know anything. He should be like the NSA for the Justice League and is best used camped out in the Watchtower trying to hack terrorist networks.
>Interesting in the original TT by Marv.
>Interesting in the original TT TV show.
>Interesting in Doom Patrol.
>Interesting on Young Justice.
>Slightly interesting during DCYou.
Face it, DC's writers have no idea what to do with any of there characters, so it's why you have shit characterizations and stories.
This works too.
But Batman is more authoritarian/conservative than the JL.
I mean he created Brother Eye.
Cyborg's capabilities seem more inline with Batman than anyone else.
It would also be a cool moral conflict between Batman and Cyborg. As I'd write Cyborg to be conflicted about a police state. Whereas as Batman would support it.
