It's like it was never gone

Some of the animation looks great but then others look far too choppy/unlike the original series's. It looks like they had to cut corners and couldn't really disguise it very well. Grant it it seems like they didn't have much time to finish/maybe some funding was dropped.

I think I'm more mad that based on the trailer this movie probably won't address some shit in unmade episodes or leave people to fill in the gaps with the comic. Seems like an extended standard episode rather than a conclusion.

I think the show's appeal in is the cruel and superficially cynical tone that gets softened by zany humor and character that are likeable for their drive and moments of insight despite their general stupidity and petty douchiness.

Tak works because she kinda teases out the idea of human-irken co-existence in two ways; with Dib and Zim working together against her, and yes, all the cringy shipping aside, with Dib's low key sexual attraction towards the irken of opposite sex, mixed with the curiosity towards the great other. Despite it all, they end up still being petty and hostile towards each other. Reason and positive emotions, tossed out of the window in preference of serving the group in a funny, if selfish and mistrusting ways.
