Bruno really had no chance with Wilson in control. She's mostly satisfied with keeping the character within the boundaries of "won't get you honour killed" levels of Islamic observance ... but Bruno was never going to happen, unless he converted.
Unless the editor has the balls to step in, the final issue Wilson writes will probably have Kamala put on the veil. For the moment Kamala is just a fake facade for Islam, propaganda ... but eventually she will have to give the good example to muslim girls. A few might get the "wrong" idea otherwise.
Her creator is a fake muslim an apostate in anything but her own words, because that death penalty on apostasy is rather effective. Her writer is a white convert veil wearer who wants to create a family friendly image of Islam ... without actually letting Kamala cross the uncrosseable lines (pork, romantic involvement with non muslims and of course apostasy).
