Fandom is beautiful, with the exception of the terrible rumors that appeared in this place. The show has not been canceled and there is no romance between Luz and Eda.

The fact that it even needs defending is equally baffling. There's only a teaser and intro and already people hate it.

Because it’s literally a fandom founded at the intersections of Star Vs. and Gravity Falls. There are so many anons with fuckin PTSD from both and now you want a show that has elements of both? It was doomed from the start, and it looks so promising too.

To be frank, I'm pretty sure the backlash has to do with the constant delays. When it was originally announced it was supposed to come out sometime in the first half of 2019 yet it never did and later was announced to come out a year later in 2020 instead. Those kinds of delays kind of make it look like something is going wrong behind the scenes, not helped by the drama rumors surrounding the show. Whether they're true or whether they're false, the delays make it LOOK like they're true. And for a lot of people that's enough.

To top it off, those delays are going to put it in a rough place, being the last of FOUR cartoons to come with essentially the same basic premise (middle school girl goes to another, more magical world than our own and deals with conflict both there and within herself). Genre fatigue is a thing and by the time Owl House hits the scene, good or not, the show is going to have to deal with its effect.

I think its mostly because of the latina witch and how it gets delayed so often. The anticipation slowly turns into frustration

Amphibia had memes pretty much pre-release and it instantly exploded into shitposting, train has people hating on it every thread since the pilot, owl house is what was said, it's like people have forgot how to enjoy things without making it into some cult shit where you either die for it or you hate it.
