Should I read the man-thing comics?
Is he an interesting character?
Should I read the man-thing comics?
Yes.
maybe
I'm hoping he shows up in the MCU now that supernatural and multiple realities are going to be a thing
like crossing over into that terrible 2005 film?
bump
He's a non-character.
The comics aren't about him. He's just a force of nature that shows up (usually at the end) to give people their EC-Comics-esque comeuppance.
The comic prequel to the film was okay.
Kyle Holtz's artwork probably helped.
This.
That's not to say the comics with him in it are bad, but he's not an actual self reflecting entity.
Should you read them? Yes, absolutely. Is he an interesting character? No. He's not a character at all.
I used to think Man-Thing was a tragedy. Now I realize it was a comedy.
If you haven't read Swamp Thing, read Swamp Thing first
>read the book that came later first
But why?
because it's better. I don't study comic chronology though, it has to stand on its own for me.
no, as a rebooted version guarding the Nexus of All Realities in the Florida Everglades
you could even bring in Jennifer Kale
Just be sure to avoid R.L. Stine's mini-series where he has Manny become a quippy, self-loathing dummy trying to cash in on his status as a comic "hero" in Hollywood during the superhero film boom.
now i want to read it just to see how bad it is.
>implying MemeCU will take him seriously and introduce Nexus
He's going to be a walking punchline and everyone will pretend like it's the best version of Man-Thing of all.
I thought it would be awesome, RLS writing Man Thing? I was so genuinely invested in it.
It took me three days and venting to two different friends to finally get over the rage
No, no you fucking don't. You have better things to do with your time, user.
Man-Thing and Swamp Thing are nothing alike. Nice casualness though.
