Hero Girls, Infinity Train, Mao Mao
Dudes, Miller did save CN
Pretty good
Did the pacing seem off to anyone else?
Why the fuck would she risk her life and chances of getting off the train for an autistic ball she met 5 10 minutes ago?
What hack writing, but at least we got a sexy cat.
The first was a pretty good establishment episode
The second one honestly felt a bit rushed. There was just too much in too little time. It was ok.
they were mostly fine but Yea Forums can’t obsessively stop comparing them to Amphibia despite the fact that they’re two VERY different shows that clearly wanna do different things
the first one was amazing, the second sucked dick
Nice
A little. Maybe it’s connected.
Before someone asks:
>S01E01 / S01E02

empathy
Correct me if I'm wrong here, but the trailer showed me a protagonist from a middle class family who was easy street to an education in STEM. Aren't protagonists supposed to be disadvantaged somehow, or at a low point in life in order to grow or gain success? What am I supposed to root for with this girl? That she stops having fun on a magic train? Modern cartoons are such trash.
Dude, she’s on a train that has shit that’s gonna kill her and is away from home.
why didnt she asked the water guy to take her all the way to the front?
>who was easy street to
Yeah because friendship is what saves you from a giant interdimensional train going through a death desert.
No sensible human being would ever react to being in such a scenario as if it was some fucking fairy land.
eh
They're faster paced than most cartoons airing right now, which feels a bit weird but I suppose it fits the feeling of urgency they're going for. Otherwise it's very solid: art is very nice, so is the track, lots of detail and I like how so far Tulip has maintained her no-nonsense attitude on account of her situation, lots of characters in fantasy settings just seem to instantly accept it and go along with things while she's determined to get out ASAP.
People(including kids) die all the time by facing extremely dangerous situations to help others.
Some people are literally to good for this world user.
The ball literally saved her life twice in two minutes.
the fast pace is detriment to the show, Tulip explodes and tthen move on way too fast
>magical train
>try to leave and your soul gets sucked by cockroach-dog things
>stay and every other cart tries to kill you anyway
>1st ep shows guy being pulled out of the train and vaporized
>no visible way out of train dimension and no way to know where on the train you are
>countdown to who knows what constantly ticking down on your hand
Yeah such a joyous ride. Oh and no, characters have no obligation to be disadvantaged, and that you need one to be so in order to relate to, or cheer for them is very sad.
It's okay but really generic. The pool gelatin things reminded me of Adventure Time and Tulip and One One are pretty generic in both personality and dialogue. There's some brilliance here and there, notably when it's more freaky and disturbing but this is a kids show so they probably won't go far.
Also the pacing sucks massive dick and goes against the vibe they are going for. Humor also isn't that funny and ruins tension.
but steven is gay?
Surprisingly, he’s one of the few straight ones
Steven’s got love for everybody. Except maybe Kevin.
I'm not so sure about that. To begin with, it's not even that fast, watch something like Teekyuu to see what real fast paced is. I believe people are just used to shows like SU, AT that take their time with everything and when I think of what I would like to see if the episodes had more time, I can't really come up with anything that is missing.
I said it in the last thread and I'll say it here too, so long as they keep the pacing mostly constant it being faster than other shows doesn't bother me.
the fast pace is ok, it's understandable that she would be rushing through the cars to reach the Conductor and it's still establishing the rules of the train. it's clear that the show was made with its short episode count in mind and I think most people expected each episode to take place on a different cart instead of breezing through 3 or 4.
Nah he's on the mend with Kevin now too.
I can summarize my problem with the pace by that scene before they met the cat, she just feaked out out of nowhere, I get no knwowing what the number changing means but that was just too much
>really generic
In what way? art, designs, pacing, soundtrack, setting and mood are all different from other shows airing right now, it doesn't even use the bean mouth art style. You're not forced to like it but don't call it generic just because you have nothing else to say.
>pacing goes against the vibe they are going for
The show put a damn timer on the palm of her hand and she's desperately looking for a way out, what part of that doesn't fit with faster pacing? Again, don't just say stupid shit because you can't articulate your thoughts properly.
I think the problem with the second episode is that not interesting happened. first episode we find the train, see the outside of if. a guy gets desitegated and Tulip fought some monsters.Second episode we met some Adventure Time charactersand thats about it
OTP
KEVIN!, Steven would hang out with KEVIN!, the only time he tolerates KEVIN! is when he wants to get some pussy
Kevin would be a good big brother to him like Lars is when he gets redeemed. Doesn't have to cut out the snark or anything either.
It makes more sense in context, she's a teen who got herself in a shitty and very strange situation right after blowing up on her mom and making n impulse decision. Then after almost dying right after getting on the train, she discovers she may have limited time to get out on top of having no idea of how anything beyond opening the doors works. Oh and she's a woman.
it's out?
woo woo, thanks
why even ask if its out if you gonna reply to the MEGA right after?
>education in stem
uh, because she could go to game design camp?
user if she doesn't move far, FAR away from home, using money there's no way she or her parents could ever get, she's staring 'milkmaid' in the face as a career.
Just so everyone can know that he just found out
sorry user i'll go back to making those separate posts just to vex you
no but really I think it's valid to point out that I didn't know it was out. there's no help with that shit anymore.
god damn Tulip is cute. I love her eyes.
It's nice seeing hands actually drawn with hand line contours and a proper shape for fingers... and chin and ears shaped and placed properly and holy god damn modern cartoons have lowered my standards.
Who voiced the business cat? she sounds a bit like kate mulgrew. waterblob was one of the two kiwis who voices things, yeah?
Tulip is pretty gullible. A baby could tell that cat was a shyster.
Concat's VA was good, you think she was ever an actual con man(con woman?) at some point?
shes 13?
Randall has his own life going on.
You think the train denizens used to be people? If so, they might be stepping on Twelve Forever's toes
I thought the first episode was rock solid, but the second seemed a bit quick to make going through multiple train cars already feel like quick routine just to get through.
But I guess that's the whole point, so might as well establish it now.
>hey Randall, I'll take all your donut holers if you take me the machinist
problem solved
You can just say 'ripe'
you don't have to put a number on it
she already asked for his help for free and she knows he lives in his own cart so it's not like she could ask him to leave forever, at least not after almost doing it with one-one.
Her mom works long hours as a nurse and her dad fixes go-carts. Her house is kinda nice (I don’t know if that’s a big deal out in Wisconsin) and they scrounged together some extra cash to send her to camp because her English grade went up, but I don’t think she’s rolling in dough.
I mean if there's 115 of them, and 10 episodes, they can't very well have an episode per.
>give me your product for free in exchange for doing me a favor
Unless you think she can buy all of his donut holers with her pocket change.
remember, she's GOING to wisconsin. she's not FROM wisconsin
her trip is 300 miles, there's no place in wisconsin that's 300 miles from oshkosh. the state is only about 310 miles long end to end.
there was some mention of st. paul as a stop along her journey, which lines up. that would put her in southwestern minnesota, which is rural as fuck
I meant if the actual VA was a con woman, she sold the routine pretty well. I don't think the denizens were once people, otherwise some would likely remember it, and we did see a guy get vaporized so it's safe to assume non-natives to the train end up dead if they don't leave.
Go back to your Loud House containment thread.
she didnt payed for the first one. Besides, Rendall is an idiot, would be easy to make him take her to the front
I don't think the number's counting down every train car was it? We don't really know what it represents yet.
well if that was kate mulgrew, and it sure sounded like her, then it's not the last time she's played a duplicitous almost-cult-leader
isn't it? I thought that was pretty obvious. and in the pilot it did that too
fuckable, then.
Miller did jack shit. Infinity Train is only 10 episodes long and some retarded angry cat can't ssve
It's not counting every car, or at lest that's not the only thing making it count down. In the second ep it goes down just from her staying there and helping the cat, and at one point I believe it goes back up for a moment by like 1 point.
She's a game dev wannabe with her first and only game being a barely functional space invaders clone. If anything she's on a due course to become very disillusioned with her dreams and ambitions.
just because it's a miniseries doesn't mean we won't get any more after it's over
>if there's 115 of them
What part of "Infinity Train" didn't you understand?
she gonna rise on the autism scale
>In the second ep it goes down just from her staying there and helping the cat
I didn't notice that
>at one point I believe it goes back up for a moment by like 1 point.
that doesn't make ANY sense, and you'd think Tulip would've reacted to it.
The title rounded up
She wasn't paying attention to it going up, I'll try to pinpoint the time mark but you only see it briefly while she's fixing the pod. It might even have been an animation error but I doubt it.
So what do you guys think the number means? It went down a bunch and the up one. What could it mean?
I still prefer her pilot design
>you can't articulate your thoughts properly
Are you retarded? I don't know how much clearer I can get. You're just fucking mad I don't like your show.
Oh no, last time somebody asked about the numbers, we ended with two idiots getting mad at each other about their cognitive issues...
Again, i know how a ranking system works, I'm question the what determines that rank, obviously it would be effected by other peoples efforts. Well what constitutes as failure, dying? Like i said that seems off to assume. So multiple people would have had to have died for her to go up in rank so many times while doing nothing. Meanwhile some one surpassed her rank during that time as well, which isn't hard to believe, but the fact Tulip only lost one rank but gained several while being inactive makes the notion hard to believe given many of the train cars were that perilous. I think you ought to think this some more before acting like a retard.
Pilot!Tulip is still the best Tulip, but show!Tulip's design is growing in me desu.
based and rankpilled
Here's some time marks for the counter number I found, all in the mega version with the 2 episodes together
16:44 - 113
16:49/16:53 -108
17:05 - 114
20:49 -109
21:51 -109
It seems to go both up and down, including wild variations in small intervals of time, so it definitely does not depend on her clearing carts to change. Not sure what makes it change but it's either a set of different factors, or at least it's not a simple as cart number or time spent. Either that or the animators were on crack for that sequence, but it seemed deliberate.
I will have to say, for some reason she looks better in the second episode compared to the first one. Like her eyes were drawn better.
I'm not mad, I'm pointing out that your critique is flawed because you use terms that are objectively incorrect. I even said right there that you don't have to like it.
Same kind of annoying as the usual modern female character, sure she's not as bad as mabel but she's still an obnoxious cunt. That redesign did her no favors because now she looks even shittier which clashes with her cunty personality. Also can't forget the divorce shit with a working mom and a shitty retarded dad who is leagues below her!
>her glasses is an infinity symbol
How? How did they manage to fuck that up?
Personally I prefer the new design. The new head shape looks better and I didn't really care for the glasses=infinity symbol thing. They were also a bit too big for me.
The counter on her hand is probably tied to her emotions or actions or something. Let's be real here, this is how shit is in shows usually.
Another user proposed it could be tied to other people in the train. Either how many are still on, or a ranking system.
Can't wait til some youtuber makes a 45 minute theory explaining the meaning behind this show
So will the next episode be at the same time?
>the grid car
already watched. still hate how the first episode rushes through the plot. i get how they only have so much time but it's disappointing nonetheless. it's pretty good at building atmosphere though which is important for wacky dimension hopping shenanigans. dogroaches are cool. tulip is a dumbass. also is it just me or is one-one basically pinky and the brain?
>the beach car
big improvement. one-one's a charming little fuck. randall is best boy and i like how the cat's motives were left ambiguous. i also like the machinery with the typewriterbot and the shuttlecock. tulip's dumbassery is elaborated as being naive and taking shit too seriously (though being stuck on a soul-sucking train is pretty damn serious.) good episode. more like this please.
as far as the number mystery goes
>115 --> 114 when she admits she goofed around with dad
>113 --> 108 when she talks about her name origin
>108 --> 114 when she gets defensive about her name origin
>114 --> 109 when she confesses her dumbassery to randall
it's obvious the number goes down every time she opens herself up and vice versa. how that's relevant to the train is unknown, maybe it's a damn feelings train and it'll end with her letting out resentment about her parents' divorce. wouldn't that be nice.
>ywn "deflower" Tulip
Why even live bros?
It would have gone down when that one guy died
The divorce shit was kinda yikes as someone who actually lives with it. It wasn’t even her parents being abusive, all they did was make a scheduling mistake and she starts getting pissed off because of it.
Stop spamming this shit on every thread, no one cares about SU
You think Tulip's dad molested her?
>make a big fuss about how they had to change it because her eyes and her glasses were the same shame and it didn't read well
>change the shape of her eyes anyway so it would have bee fine to keep round glasses
>no excuse for taking away her feminine chin though
One thing I don't see anyone talk about is how they changed the counter. It was stylized before to match the train aesthetic but no it just looks like a regular counter
So the train is reverse Silent Hill?
It makes sense for things to be fast-paced following a girl traveling through infinite rooms otherwise we'd be following her for years.
This show reminds me of Spooky's House of Jumpscares and I love it.
Her dad was probably David Koresh, so maybe
and, desu, could you blame the guy?
The best part of those is how they're almost always wrong and have to go into full damage control right after. The more they hype it up the more hilarious it is.
I mean the show isn't exactly hiding the fact she has emotional issues to work through, starting with her impulsive behavior. I will however point out that the number stays at 109 from the moment she starts chasing after 1-1 until the end, even though she has her little speech about ditching him being bad, so it might not be as simple as just admitting you fucked up. I don't mind even if it goes that way, so long as they make the ride interesting.
>kate mulgrew
That's exactly who she is. I watched Voyager like a year ago and I haven't forgotten that voice.
omg thanks i knew this show reminds me something in both pacing and worldbuilding execution.
Considering she almost dies to a freak monster right in the first episode, yeah that's a good comparison.
It probably has to do with her generosity. Fixing a shuttlecraft would be + points in that direction.
Also, fuck off avatarfag.
So since I can’t seem to find a consensus on here, I made a straw poll
strawpoll.me
Would like to know what you think
She was 12 in the pilot but apparently she's been retconned to go another year
i mean she already admitted it to randall
it probably has more to do with her saying the confession rather than who's listening. i wouldn't be surprised if she made the number change all by herself at some point.
But why does it go up the first time. Also I just have a lot of pictures of Nakamura
CN would have to have balls the size of Jupiter to give the ok to that.
The counter changes both of the times she talks about her parents, right? The first time happens right after she talks about her dad, and I think it may be related.
You're the type of person who would be too paranoid to keep friends during the apocalypse, aren't you user?
People do crazy and irrational things in order to keep/help their friends all the time.
Because sometimes you gotta put others before yourself.
That would maybe be the most interesting dark revelation. Maybe Tulips dad's a schizo or at least has some emotional problems like intense mood swings, which One-One represents and is why her parents got divorced.
one problem with this is it went to 113 on it's own. It has also never gone above 115 as far as we've seen, it didn't even match it again. It seems even if she can get it to rise a bit, it might still decrease over time no matter what.
Did you miss the time skip? They were with each other at least a few hours.
Does this mean they changed how the number worked to however it was working in the pilot?
>Some people are literally to good for this world user.
>tulip
She deserves every bad thing that happens to her with zero sympathy.
Does the pilot ever make it explicit the timer is based on carts cleared or time?
I doubt her parents would still be talking if that were the case.
>it was le too hard to animate
The hacks are in the animation studios now.
I wouldn't say that, many couples have to deal metal illness and have to deal with compromises. I knew a kid whose mother was schizophrenic so her lived with his grandparents and his parents with almost strangers to him. If you're talking about the molestation part I'd argue it be a crime not to feel up such premium goods that are Tulip's private places.
hey I like InfiniTrain and Frog show but you bringing it up is really retarded
Thanks.
>10 episode mini series with massive following and probably big budget
>too fucking lazy and stupid to bother animating round glasses
Nice, this show be a game in the webpage.
If it was a reference then it was really subtle
she flat thou
No idea, in the pilot the number went from 50 something to 70 something.
Cool, nobody asked 'bout that till you mentioned it. Good job, you played yourself.
it went from 114 to 113 off-screen sometime between meeting cat and fixing the shuttle. could've been when she was pissed at one-one's shenanigans.
it's implied in the pilot that the number went down after she saved dogworld (performed selfless act)
You buffoon, are you aware of the nonsense that you speak?
Or, you know, maybe they just decided not to go with the infinity glasses. Why are people so upset by this, it wasn't even that great of a detail.
I was talking about the pic
>could've been when she was pissed at one-one's shenanigans.
That wouldn't be consistent with user's theory though, because his theory is that it goes down when she opens up, not when she gets pissed.
I hate the creator, and I really want this show to fail. Which is not happening so I just hope he further fails in future projects
it's my damn theory and everything i say is right
she was opening up to one-one about how she was upset with him, does that sound better?
They literally said that the reason they redesigned was because it was too difficult to animate. I'm not too anal about the change but the reasoning behind really makes clearly the issues with the production. But I still like the round glasses more. They just looked better and everyone knows it.
Good taste.
My mistake, I almost mistook you for a man of irredeemable taste. Yeah the pic was kinda chosen at random
I sincerely don't think they looked better and prefer the current ones. I dunno, the old ones were far too big for my liking.
please point on the doll where the creator touched you
>her trip is 300 miles, there's no place in wisconsin that's 300 miles from oshkosh. the state is only about 310 miles long end to end.
But actual driving distance (which is what Google Maps tells you) would put her near Minneapolis. And it's 320 miles north/south. NW/SE is somewhat longer.
Right here
That doesn't sound right. The glasses look much higher quality now. Just in a different shape.
Pilot designs change all the fucking time. What's surprising is that they kept basically everything other than the glasses and the shape of her chin/jaw.
It is pretty good so far.
I don't really like how we went from eldritch horrors to cats and blobs but the setting is still interesting and I like how small the main cast is.
Parents doing their own thing to the point where they ignore your dreams and constantly break promises can feel pretty world crushing to a kid especially to one without a lot of friends.
Nah. She likes talking about spending time with him.
I didn't say she disliked it.
This design looks bad and I hate it.
Doesn't hold a candle to Amphibia, but still good in its own right.
Did you really need to say that?
YES!
The same thing will be done when Owl House finally airs. It's going to be judged on it's quality compared to Amphibia to determine whether it's good or not.
i like them both
infinity train is better and even if it weren't you're a fuckin sperglord who makes the show look bad
Thanks for giving validation, moron. i like Amphibia, it must be my current fav cartoon rn, but damn i hate all this fighting over what show is better, can you, i dunno, enjoy things without shitting over other things?
the second episode had exactly the kind of stuff that I wanted out of it: a buncha weird stuff with just the right amount of context, which is basically how I like my SCPs
I'm certainly interested in it now
You think that Tulip's womb is still OK after her dad got finished with her?
My fucking dick.
stop the anime shit already for fucks sake im begging at this point
>Not wanting more inspired by the most kino style of animation on the planet.
Keep that cringe out of this thread.
I love anime but I'm tired of this kind of shit.
So aside from space stations, what other motherish type machines are shaped like donuts?
Anime is the future and one day cartoons will be forgotten in the west and replaced by anime. It's going to take time, but we're getting there.
I would agree if it were a part of the show (SU and Star poisoned the fuck out of that well after the last couple of seasons) but it is just some really cute artwork.
Look at her little magical conductor's hat and whistle. That is adorable.
God i want to fuck the Steward's DSL
Bagels?
Don't talk shit about precure train
Pretty good. A major negative for me was how rushed it felt. Like, they could've just dumped all of the information about Tulip's parents being divorced in like episode 6 or 7. Shoving all of that in the first episode felt a bit forced. And Tulip squandering her one chance to get off the train for a little robot she barely knows is just plain unrealistic. At least wait until they get to know each other first.
I kinda think that Tulip sorting through her drama with her parents is possibly tied to her progress in the train. Since this is a mystery show and that is possibly one of the solutions to one of the big mysteries, it’d feel like a cheat if they didn’t tell us about the divorce and stuff until later in the show. Introducing it at the very beginning means it’ll always be lingering in the audience’s mind as a big hint to where the story is going.
Terrifying.
I think she realized that she not only gave up her one companion but that she was also about to get fucked right over by that cat.
Still that plot would have worked just a little better as an episode three or four plot.
>they could've just dumped all of the information about Tulip's parents being divorced in like episode 6 or 7. Shoving all of that in the first episode felt a bit forced.
I appreciated getting to know Tulip and her family situation right off the bat. Having her just randomly go off about her family problems half way through the show would be dumb.
Believe In Steven
that's obviously magical DoReMi you idiot
Kind of weird how the cat and 11 and the cat are at her house. Probably just a cute non-canon scene but I wonder if she will be able to take him with her in some way when she escapes.
This crew art is making me want to fuck Tulip way more than I already wanted to.
>the cat and 11 and the cat
I need to go back to bed.
I was expecting a "one-one is the loneliest number". It's too obvious, but it should have been there.
nothing wrong with establishing tulip's divorced parents, it was just executed sloppily. her friend just brings it up out of nowhere for no reason and the drama with her mom could've been more important than it was.
we have no idea how much time took place between episode 1 and episode 2, she's already a pro at solving trains so it's reasonable that they already got to know each other. also that cat is a liar and a thief.
>One-One-derful
it's a good pun but notice that the messages are generally positive
>Smile
>That S
It's spreading.
I don't know why I'm getting Mogg, Witch and Owl flashbacks.
>Mogg, Witch and Owl
*megg, mogg and owl
>This little guy is probably going to break or have to leave Tulip forever because cartoon robots can't catch a break
I am sad now.
I know what it's supposed to look like but Tulip's hair and the hole in it pisses me off
OK so is nobody gonna mention she eats raw onions like they're apples or what
Who gives a shit? It's just a quirk.
Real people do that shit too as horrifying as it is.
I had a great aunt who used to do it.
Is it on Netflix? Cause then I could watch it tomorrow.
I was in fact gonna ask.
there are thousands of holes in your hair RIGHT NOW
Fanx.
Wow a beach episode on the second episode.
Wish they spent more time in the pinball car. Needed to get more of a feel on how it works.
Particle accelerators.
Imagine kissing her after she ate an onion...
>drawing Tulip with boobs
wack
I like it. I just think it's weird how they made the cat out to be evil but the only bad thing she really did was be a shady salesman.
>Aren't protagonists supposed to be disadvantaged somehow
No? They can be but that is by no means a requirement. Disney did a long running TV series about a guy with a rich fiance that loves him and easy access to semi-phenomenal, nearly cosmic power.
>there was some mention of st. paul as a stop along her journey
When she thought she was within walking distance of her home, she thought that "North St. Paul" kids made the giant snowman in the first car. So she probably lives in Minnesota a little ways northeast of the Twin cities and near the Wisconsin border.
>Aren't protagonists supposed to be disadvantaged somehow
You mean like being trapped in an interdimensional train and slowly dying?
>Tiddies
Delet.
they never say the cat is evil, that's your judgment
all the show is saying is maybe you shouldn't trust a stranger to drive off with your stuff (re: friend), especially if they're a shady salesman
What do you think Cat was going to do with one-one? I doubt she knows much more about him than tulip does and just takes a liking to interesting technology. I feel like he is going to be someone important.
Boobs are not the problem with the image.
That's the thing, the start shows her as a potential con man/liar, yet when she claims to have a ship she actually does and it works. For all we know she might actually know the conductor, though with how she worded the part about them being friends it's possible either she's not wanted there, wants to get to him for some ulterior personal motive, or was just straight up lying about it all.
She'll be back right? She's not just a one off never to be seen again right?
If she's anything like my cat then she whole heartedly believes they are best friends even though I, uh, the conductor hates her with every fiber of his being.
I think you might be confused what ‘touch’ means, little buddy.
She was probably just going to sell him or trade him off regardless of how important he is.
A good con man doesn't lie all the time. they surround a lie with truth. They wouldn't say the lie themselves they try to get you to say/believe the lie yourself.
Om sorry but this is just like that one single episode of Adventure Time with more mystery box stuff then drawn out.
>but the trailer showed me a protagonist from a middle class family who was easy street to an education in STEM.
Have you heard the shift her mother has? I think her familly is actually low income. Also, she seemed like she struggled at English.
>didn't even watch the pilot
Protip: Adventure time was not the first story to have a super long or infinite train. A train is also the only connection between both shows.
Is Tulip White or Ginger-American?
Hard to tell. If she was actually trying to get to the conductor for a reason then she might be back seeing as Tulip smashed her pod. But I wouldn't bet on it.
>remember, she's GOING to wisconsin. she's not FROM wisconsin
She is from Wisconsin too.The driving distances are usually not straight lines.
>Her house is kinda nice (I don’t know if that’s a big deal out in Wisconsin)
She live in a rural area, not a big city. The house market there is usually rather low, regardless of states.
-They actually spend some time together
-One-One literally saved her life
-SLAVERY IS WRONG
Shes a fucking euro who cant speak proper English.
Is that a Sakura reference?
Anime has some of the best animation in the world. If you don't like it, blame the creators for being anime fans.
rape
>Yeah because friendship is what saves you from a giant interdimensional train going through a death desert.
Literally yes. That is what gets humans through dangerous situations.
A cohesive social group is a prerequisite for human survival outside of the established structures of a developed society.
Sharing resources, grouping up for defense, geting each other out of a bind.
That is precisely what gets you through a bonkers train that tries to kill you.
> The driving distances are usually not straight lines.
Not in Germany.
That's not the actual old design. in the old design, the glasses have thickness.
People tend to not understand the issue. The old design had glasses with thickness, which actually looke good, but see through glasses with thickness are a pain in the ass to animate. You actually never see that kind of glasses in animation.
when they tried to simply make the glasses tow circles like there The simple sicircels started to have a weird uncanny effect with the eyebrow in animation and making her expressive ended up with a bad result.
Hence the redesign. This also resulted in a redesign of the logo which kinda look cool, to me.
if this were the official design people would be complaining about perspective in literally every shot
>>no excuse for taking away her feminine chin though
Make your god damn mind, Yea Forums! is a pointy chin feminine, or anti-feminine, it's one or the other, damn-it.
Or would consider letting him an her alone on a long drive journey. No, you can cross that out.
Also the lack of refraction. Lenses that thick would have a clear discontinuity at their edges.
>I hate the creator,
There is no reason to.
>no excuse for taking away her feminine chin though
She looks more realistically feminine without her knife chin. You don't see a lot of 12 year olds with the ability to cut glass with their face.
>It wasn’t even her parents being abusive, all they did was make a scheduling mistake and she starts getting pissed off because of it.
I think it was fairly recent. Also, divorce or not, it's always a sad day when you discover even if you do everything right, things can still go bad because of other's mistakes. Especially if those other are people you thought you could trust.
>her friend just brings it up out of nowhere for no reason
I think it's because it's recent.
>but the only bad thing she really did was be a shady salesman.
And that's not enough for you to make it an antagonist?
Daywalker.
She's the main villain.
What should've been 11 minute runtime episodes being stretched out for the premiere, much like a townie episode of Steven Universe that awkwardly hangs on a scene for too long when you know they meant to transition sooner.
The super smart computer geek girl is an age old cliche in kid shows, this is just the first exception in a long while where they happen to be the main protagonist on top of that
>The super smart computer geek girl is an age old cliche in kid shows
I am not sure I would refer to her as "Super" smart. It seems she was struggling at English and she has only coded one game so far, with the help of the equivalent of a "coding for dummies" book.
Some false information from our friend The Cat. She HAS thumbs, just really small ones.
You have a computer, internet access and enough free time to fuck around on Yea Forums and watch children's cartoons. Stop fucking whining.
That's a dewclaw. They're homologous to human thumbs, but they're not opposable.
I don't think one should trust what she says.
>this is where I belong
There is no way that it was a reference, is there?
made some sicknasty fanart to try fuck with tumblr and plebbit for a while
Cats use them to grab stuff. Call it what you want, but it is a small thumb, however inefficient. Also, excuse to post an ancient image.
>make a deal
>cat shows no signs of backstabbing and seemed intent to help
>decide at the literal last minute to go back on your word, wreck cat's shuttle, strand her in the train and blow your chance of help for some bootleg Marvin the Paranoid Android
Give me your cat then
They didn't really make it clear enough, for all we know the dumbass cat really thought those were donuts.
>>decide at the literal last minute to go back on your word, wreck cat's shuttle, strand her in the train and blow your chance of help for some bootleg Marvin the Paranoid Android
That's how you deal with slave traders. Mind you, tulip was ready to trade back out of the deal. Any business that does not have a good return policy should be treated the same way.
To note, the cat was conning Tulip to begin with, it literally asked Tulip to pay to repair the ball, as if it wasn't enough. No Tulip had to pay extra just to have the service of having the cat talk to the conductor. imo, I think the cat wasn't going to help Tulip anyways and just conned her out of the ball because you somehow need it to deal with the conductor at the front. The cat was never going to help Tulip.
The dumbass cat know what a pyramid scheme is.
I want this shit to be good so bad but I can't get past Tulip.
Wouldn't the correct term be "detulip"?
I didn't quite get the explanation for her name. Anyone has a transcript from episode 2?
She's a kid scared for her life, give her time
Stop doing that.
She had breathing issues that threatened her life but recovered
>Perennials, especially small flowering plants, that grow and bloom over the spring and summer, die back every autumn and winter, and then return in the spring from their rootstock,
Never
Believe in my fist in your face.
They touched me right on the glasses. It was never the same after that
Now I wonder why hasn't been a magical train girl. Japan is autistic for both trains and magical girls, you'll think they would mix them by now.
Thanks.
Keep spamming this image so retards keep being angry
bless you
There’s descriptions for the next couple of episodes
>Corgi Car
Tulip and One-One explore a car full of Corgis and face off against a mysterious monster.
>Crystal Car
Tulip, Atticus and One-One enter a crystal forest car and have to take part in a musical ritual.
>The Cat’s Car
Tulip has to face her past.
That cat was obviously lying
Epic dude
My main issue is that I was hoping for Atticus in episode 2, so that, that way, I wouldn't be able to tell what would be coming next. Now I still know Atticus is coming and from what I have seen in the trailers, it look like a similar plot to the pilot.
I liked Janeway as the cat, hope she's a recurring villain.
Is Infinity Train airing in the UK?
It will, but probably months after CN US airs it.
How come CN still hasn't figured out Simul-cast is the best way to go. otherwise, most people will watch it online and the rating will get lower.
Also, why is it so hard for them to figure out the best format is the weekly release, while allowing official streaming after it aired first, with the bomb format being only used for final or special important arc. Consistency create fidelity and if it is a good show, can even generate great hype, thought word of mouth. this is how you get good rating on cable nowadays. having to have people always to search for when the next episode comes up only decrease audience.
Knowing at what time, at what day on a weekly schedule make people more automatically tun in.
Is the MEGA for eps 3 and 4 coming today?
We haven't got big leaks in a while. We'll probably need to wait for the airing time to have anything.
>Knowing at what time, at what day on a weekly schedule make people more automatically tun in.
Unless it's came back since the last time I checked, USA CN doesn't even have a schedule page on their site anymore. I remember when RS and AT were still airing trying to find their schedule page for awhile but never did, just international site schedules.
hence the sake of regularity.
I thought it already aired? I'm from EU, so maybe I have my times wrong.
Here's the CN app rips of the links, includes subtitles:
mega.nz
>includes subtitles:
Nice, thanks.
Someone doesn't know how time zones work
cute
It's in 9 and half hours
I don’t get.
Who’s the guy?
C O U N T D O W N:
itsalmo.st
Perfect
Is this by that gravity falls comics guy?
One-One is a key conduit for the Conductor, who is probably a huge dingus and must not be rebuilt.
What the fuck is wrong with you? Where are the end credits for “The Beach Car”?
You mean Moringmark?
Last I’ve seen, he exclusively does Star vs stuff
Those were straight ripped from the CN airing, before the app was avilable and provided to the quickest. those are not perfect app rip.
Any reason him writing that "One-One" is the correct way to spell his name and not any other way, would play into the lore?
Any anagrams or word play on it?
...
Are all water guys the same guy? I think I missed that when watching.
This guy is just minor character from Skyrim that appears in the opening scene. The joke is that Skyrim was re-released so many times, everything turns into Skyrim, even Infinity Train, even your life. You go to bed one day and wake up in a cart on its way to Helgen.
Wow, so badass. I’m shaking.
Rewatching episode 1, I think her game was already functional, but she was working on an auto-play feature. Hence her saying "I am going to press play and you are gonna die" and why her friend was already able to play her game previously.
Tulip wakes up in the intro of Skyrim because Todd Howard sold you Skyrim again
It looked for me as she forgot to initialize something. Maybe she revised the whole code recently (Since she's learning by the book, her techniques probably improved, requiring some refactoring)
Oh wow I didn’t realize
>Aren't protagonists supposed to be disadvantaged somehow
No, it's not an Oscar bait where everyone must be inspirationally retarded cripples. Hero generally needs obstacles to overcome to make a story, and being stuck on magic train she has aplenty.
I just realised the algae Randall start carrying in his body at some point is actually meant to be a business tie.
What do you think it'd be like to have sex with one of those Water people haha?
I didn't even realize it's aglae.
Probably the same way it feels to skinny dip
Someone should draw Tulip using Randall as a shower.
only episode 2 i need one
Do you think the cat was actually gonna help tulip or was it a fucking liar?
I think the cat somehow knew One-One was a key item for getting whatever from the Conductor it wanted to acquire. I don't think the cat would have cared about putting in a word for Tulip if it got there.
It's not algae, it was a blade of grass
Maybe. But I don't think conductor is there to help.
Conductor is there to punish naughty little girls who run away from homes.
>1-1 says Tulip is gonna die if the counter reaches zero
oh shit
>cat says 1-1 is a dumbass and you can't rely on what he says
damn I almost believed that.
>Randal says it's been 38 minutes since they left
>takes them seconds to reach the cat. implying they been gone less than a minute.
Good to see unreliable narrative in a show again.
I believe the cat was gonna help itself, seemed to be in an awful hurry to get to the conductor. And if the episode descriptions above are an indicator, we haven't seen the last of her.
This Layering offends me
>>takes them seconds to reach the cat. implying they been gone less than a minute.
It just mean there is a time-skip and/or Randall is really fast. it showed Randall was fast.
So is this a weekly thing or another "bomb" format? Because I rewatched the first one with the second one, pretty much forgetting about what happened on the premier, and it feels like a better watch weekly. Was this the official release for the 1st and 2nd?
Also if these are the type of character they're giving us with each cart I'm hype.
Still not sure about Dog King joining the party.
cat's right arm is also broken
it'll be bombed, think of it like OtGW
corgis are in right now
Everything One-One says is probably technically true and important, it’s just phrased in vague ways to throw you off. One-One says when the counter reaches zero, Tulip will be “Gone forever.” I think he meant she’ll leave the train then, but maybe she’ll die like she thought.
When the cat says One-One is a dumbass, she uses a little deception. She asks One-One “Is this donut hat your mother?” and he says yes, because the donut hat is a visual representation of what his mother looks like. Twice previously, he described his mother as a “bagel.”
>Was this the official release for the 1st and 2nd?
Yes.
There will be 2 episodes every days.
maybe he describes his mother as a bagel because he came out of a machine through a hole, like some sort of dispenser and that's what he refers to as his mother. It's possible he's not even unique. It could also be that he's supposed to fit into a round slot on some part of the train, hence why he calls it his mother, and the pinball part could have been foreshadowing on top of a joke.
>maybe he describes his mother as a bagel because he came out of a machine through a hole, like some sort of dispenser
It's also my take on it.
Randal said that he made team Randal 38 minutes ago and it was before they even went to the city to buy the missing gear
>Tulip’s hair
NO! FUCK!
yum
Thanks user, I've just had dinner...
Is that some kind of skin condition?
I thinks it's shoped or just make-up for the sake of tritophobia.
I think it's skin prop. it's clearly fake skin with real skin that can be seen under.
It’s literally just peanut butter rubbed on the skin with holes poked in it.
But it makes people really uncomfortable
This happens to my foot once on a much smaller scale. It was caused by a callous with i tried to remove with tweezers getting wrinkling in the shower and the pores just open up. So this can indeed happen although the picture might be fake.
Do you think Tulip's birth condition will be relevant for anything? Seems like a weird part of backstory, also not something I'd expect from western cartoon.
There's clearly healthy epidermis underneath, so either they dipped the hand into some weird paste that bubbles like this.
And now you DIE!
the final episode has tulip dying of asphyxiation in the void of space
She's gonna get like a rope cord vine or something like that caught around her neck and it's going to trigger a flashback to her childhood about her parents explaining her birth.
Does she cum tho?
Cringe
So I just rewatched the second episode, this time without the distraction of a Yea Forums thread, and I gotta say, it really did feel rushed.
Why did Tulip suddenly care about some random daisy? Especially since there were literally a whole bunch she could of easily grabbed.
It felt like two episodes in one
What does that have to do with hair?
no, she becomes a cyborg
>Why did Tulip suddenly care about some random daisy?
Because it was a gift.
Some people are bothered by the way Tulip’s hair strand in her ponytail is drawn.
Yes, but only if she's barefoot
>you mean my personal heartfelt gift i picked out for my personal heartfelt friend?
it's a pretty relaxed episode, how would you split this into two episodes? 11 minutes of lying on the beach?
First time I have heard that complain. I am actually glad for one that hair isn't some single mass of blob.
She has a really bothersome hole in her hair
Getting the gear probably should have been it’s own episode. Use it to build on the relationship with Tulip and one-one
>although the picture might be fake.
>it is obviously just peanut butter spread on the hand to which they made holes
>You can still see the hand's lines under that
user...
This but we only get 10 so we need to be preservative.
That's not holes drilled into it. those are actually strand of hair spaced enough to form an opening.
That's how hair is supposed to look like.
>Getting the gear probably should have been it’s own episode.
Not really, the gear is not that important.
i think they did a good job developing their relationship in this one. i guess more water people could've been fun but it would've been a light episode
Yeah but it’s drawn badly
>the gear isn’t that important
True, but the relationship is
Hence why she go back to retrieve the flower.
What bothers me is that it is visible from every angle. That makes it look wonky.
It isn't.
It's just indicate there is a strain of hair that space far enough to make a visible opening. It's not nonsensical, with an horse-tail hairstyle.
For one I'm glad the bulk of the complaints we get are about nitpicky things like the hair strand or the glasses.
Yea Forums rarely has good complaints about anything.
There's no reason why they had to flatten the top of her glasses though.
And due to her hair being solid blob, I don't think this kind of rogue strand would work.
>There's no reason why they had to flatten the top of her glasses though.
Very hard to animate. Find me one animated series with a character with see-through glasses that have thickness.
>And due to her hair being solid blob,
It actually isn't.
Yeah we are a whole day into the event and Yea Forums hasn't even come up with a way to spin the show as white genocide yet.
>There's no reason why they had to flatten the top of her glasses though.
She is supposed to look like a normal kid. Normal kids don't wear giant round glasses.
>And due to her hair being solid blob, I don't think this kind of rogue strand would work.
Looks fine to me desu.
There's more episodes tonight, correct? I'm hankering for more.
Their feet are out of perspective and it is bugging me
Yep. Same time as yesterday.
Iirc it's 2 eps per night all week.
when she open up then number goes down when she gets defensive the number goes up
I just going to guess she need to finally come to terms with divorce and if the number reaches zero it a good thing.
also I want to see more of the cat
Tulip is cute
Agreed, they did a lot more telling than showing, and glossed over visually important things too quickly with no buildup. Like when we first saw the number on her hand.
I really liked the cat's expression and dialogue when she encounters one-one. Gonna rewatch that scene.
Glad-One cutting off Sad-One's explanation of the numbers makes me think he knows more than he lets on.
Also Tulip thinking she's gonna fucking die by "gone forever" is certainly one possibility but not enough of a guarantee that she should freak out over. This show would definitely benefit from like, maybe a 15 minute run time. Flexible run time, like what Netflix offers.
>is certainly one possibility but not enough of a guarantee that she should freak out over.
She is stuck in a different universe unable to know how to ever get home and unable to contact any of her loved ones. Of course she is going to freak out when told the numbers on her hand is a count down to her death.
Im calling it now, the counter hits zero when she's gonna make peace with her past, her flaws, the idea of her parents, everything. At that point it's revealed to be an otgw twist where she's been dying in the snow this whole time and is coming to peace with everything before passing on.
And then her parents find her at the last second and everyone cries and makes up
Watch how it's actually not a counter but rather her odds in ratio to one. Determining her chances of being pulled out of the train and being eviscerated. The closer to one she gets the higher the chance.
I know I'm not the mother fucker only one who feels aroused for this shit right? like, nigga this shit seems like it would be a fucking pleasure to scratch
It could be something like that, where she wakes up and is lying on the snow, but she didn't seem like she spent enough time outside to be on the verge of collapsing.
It's possible when she leaves she'll be back besides the tracks like she never even left, hear a train coming and freak out, only for it to be a regular train.
I hope they won't do something like this, though it's obviously a very personal journey.
What if she was autistic and all of this was just taking place in her imagination because she like watching a that Snow globe that has a train in it?
Best Boy
Calling it now, at then end she'll be back like none of it ever happened but she'll still have something resembling one-one or something else from the train and realize it was real.
nah I bet the train is real, and my guess is that it or whoever is controlling it has more sinister ideals in mind.
This one is keeping CN on life support for sure, after RS and Gumball ended I have watched nothing else. The first episode of this put a big smile on my face.
Keep dreaming of your fantasy worlds.
What if she makes One-One the main character of her game
This has been said over and over since the 90's and, honestly, anime's been losing traction over the years, to the point the current fatigue in the anime industry is evident.
I'm glad cartoons' standards and practices are getting looser. I can't imagine cartoons from a few years ago discussing difficult births. Or openly using word "die" like this.
what if one-one is from the future but dies and she's so sad she rebuilds him but that was the real him all along?!
What are the best theories for what the hand number means? It changed around a lot in Ep2 even though they didn't call attention to it.
Counts down when she opens up and deals with her anger, counts up when she gets hostile and defensive.
When it hits zero she'll be cured and evicted from the train. Or maybe she's going to rack up number and get eaten by anger-eating conductor.
>INFINITY TRAIN 7:30 PM
461,000 viewers (0.12)
>INFINITY TRAIN 7:45 PM
470,000 viewers (0.14)
It's depressing that it's taking years for cartoons to even get back to where they once were.
Not bad.
The theory in has become fairly popular even though it doesn't hold up that well if you pay attention. There are some who think it's a ranking system or some sort of score. I prefer to wait for today's episodes to really get a better idea of how it behaves.
lol why couldn't they just make 10 30 min long episode so that the character had more time the breath and develop
We're at 400 replies now and the new Episodes don't air for another 2 hr. 12 min. meaning this thread will most likely die before the new Episodes air. I got a thread ready to post when that happens for live discussion of today's Episodes.

Thread Theme: youtu.be
Owen Dennis has already compared it to Over The Garden Wall, I could see it going in the same direction, but I kind of really hope it doesn't
Stop watching on MEGA if you want to get those viewers up.
1 HOUR LEFT
Viewing a show on TV doesn't increase ratings unless you have a nielsen box. And you don't even have to watch a show if you want to boost it when you are one of the guys who get a self-report form.
No she's gonna wake up in the snow and realize it was a dream but she'll here a train horn in the distance and the infinity train jingle will play.
>Did the pacing seem off to anyone else?
Yes, I thought the first episode rushed things in several places. Most obviously when Tulip is coding and it takes her two seconds to solve the problem. But also several places that she ought to stop and have more reaction before smiling and charging ahead. I can see her spending half an hour trying to figure out how space works around the first door she finds. (Yes, they can montage over that, but it ought to have happened. )
I guess I find her a really interesting and compelling character to be channeling her like this. This show has caught me!
heh
Too big. It's seaweed.
>She's a game dev wannabe with her first and only game being a barely functional space invaders clone.
>shes 13?
Yes, so don't expect her to have invented facebook yet.
I really like her legs
Soo, the engine in oneone's mother, right?
dubs confirm
dang
>traded my sou-....... cable for Netflix
If a character starts off perfectly normal and fine, there is no room for growth and therefore no character arc. It is the very reason nobody likes Mary-Sues. Shows that have characters with no flaws have to then invent and solve flaws for their characters on an episode-to-episode basis, making every episode seem pointless and inconsistent.
EPISODES 3 & 4 LIVE DISCUSSION GENERAL:
Like what? Snow Piercer?
Second one was awful
Hello, Yea Forums! You are a really cool guy and I like you.
>pointy chin feminine, or anti-feminine, it's one or the other, damn-it.
What makes She-ra not feminine is the chiseled line on her cheek, her face too high on her head, and her shoulders are unnaturally wide. And she has a butch haircut with a hair background that doesn't seem to be a part of her.
Totally mediocre.
Funny how these "quirky & random" shows are all formulaic and safe.
Have you watched the episodes? No bullshit, just a yes or a no. Come on user, you can do it.
Was she even evil? What if she would have legitimately saved the day.
Yes, and the pilots too. This and Twelve Forever are just plain mediocre, which is even worse than being just bad.
the number is just her passenger number
when a new passenger gets on or when one dies
THEY REPLACED PEPE WITH A FUCKING ONION
Okay, at least your opinion is valid since you ACTUALLY WATCHED IT.
>The Cat’s Car
thank god the cat is coming back.
she has a sexy voice.
>Still not sure about Dog King joining the party.
Same, i didn't think he was particularely interesting in the pilot so him being a main character just seems to me to be dogfag pandering.
I'd hop in Randall's body
Characters don't have to be flawed. You are confusing episodic targeted story telling with serialized. There merely needs to be conflict to drive the plot forward. Also, you are ignoring the fact that Tulip is an over-logical shithead. The second her surroundings stop following the rule's she's used to, she shits bricks.
Wait, She-Ra isn't a cute boy?
Don't expect her to be on the red carpet to success either.
ew, no, stop
saved and cum pilled
Yes there is
Let me guess, "SJW!!"
Captain Janeway is best captain
>cumpilled
just finished taking mine, whens it kick in?
Shit. stopped watching when she said trains are "outdated technology". Fuck off with that.
Its called a Plane and its the future bitch
fuck the future, I'm gonna break all her computers, king ludd style.
With the face the cat gave, her hesitation, and word choice implies that there is bad blood between the cat and the conductor. She was probably going to use one-one either directly or indirectly (by trading him) to either get even or appease the conductor. The cat is definitely trying to obtain something and she was going to use one-one to get it. finding out that One-One was looking for his mother piqued her interest probably because it fit the description of whoever sent her out to get him. I'm with in saying that whether or not he cat will "put in a good word in for her probably be almost be useless since the conductor probably requires a passenger to meet them in person to request a stop. IF the conductor actually exists or even a being.
>fuck the future
You cannot fuck the future, sir The future fucks you.
Ok so maybe Corgi isn't so bad.
Crystal car best Car. Crystal people best people.
>train autists
yikes
What do you guys have against Autistic people?
Nitpickers.
Good lord the BS in this thread.
I thought it was a quota for when she completes an objective on any of the train carts
they did but replace magical girl with boy piloting robot
its practically the same if youre an /ss/ fag
>Some people are literally to good for this world user.
Stop saying the world is bad, the Planet is alive and would disagree with you.
nope, its just random, sometimes a bunch of people get off/die
sometimes a bunch of people get on
if the number starts to rapidly drop, it means a fuck ton of people are dying/getting off, which means if it quickly drops to 1, it means shes next
>Mary-Sues
I don’t think you know what actually fits that description.
The other episodes so far lack the darkness of the first one. Although Tulip herself has a lot of anger inside her. I suppose they can't all be like that.
Even action movies need some downtime user. If it stayed like the first ep nonstop then both Tulip and the kids watching would end the show with ptsd.
She's a cute boy (female).
Get them in EU asshole.
They were great
> Tulip herself has a lot of anger inside her
Just a normal programmer. They're all full of hidden shit.
CUTE
Since there's no mega for eps 3 and 4, I'll only say that I like what i've seen from eps 1 and 2 so far and I feel like we're digging deeper into something big as eps go by.
Don't even compare this shit to RS in terms of quality.
You're a doll, sweetheart.
Okay i've seen 3/4 and it definitely feels like a cartoon i've seen before but at the same time it's fresh and colorful. Can't wait for tomorrow. Also who else sang along to Word Up?
I liked the cat's expressions. You can easily tell her thoughts.
Quite good
You people praise shit for anything, that's such a basic ass expression. Jesus god damn christ.
>Also who else sang along to Word Up?
Dude, it's Word Up. Of course everybody who knows that song did it.
For real.
I legit think has autism
I think it's pretty bland and the "life doesn't have simple rules" moral too obvious.
She ate a frog in the pilot?
I don't think it succeeds very well in making it look more like real hair rather than a shape of color that's coming out of her head.
Congratulations, you managed to get one of the points of a cartoon, here's your official internet validation point. Have a good day.
The prologue section (before the title comes up) did a bad job of establishing the character flaw of the lead that the show is apparently revolving around. Just showing her coding doesn't imply she's too rigid in her view of the world and getting cross at her parents for a stupid blunder that costs her something she was really looking forward to (something it DID establish) doesn't do it either, especially since it's tied into her frustration at the recent divorce. Only the "you signed a contract" thing vaguely hints at it and it's not enough on its own.
I have no idea what you're getting at.
They established her internal conflict and what troubles her. Also, it was already way too on the nose, do you want any more of blatant exposition?
self hatred
It's kind of ironic that your post reads like something Tulip would complain about. Maybe you should consider that the aim of the first section was just to give a feel for the character and to establish she was really excited about the camp, not to instantly expose all her flaws and worldviews.
It gets on the nose when she starts saying "everything has rules!" but that's after she gets on the train. Before that she just seems like a dumb kid angry at her parents. It should establish the base human drama it's aiming for before introducing the fantasy element.
The camp thing is just a device. That her character includes the flaw of being inflexible and easily frustrated when she doesn't understand things seems to be central to the series but it's not established before the action starts with the arrival of the mysterious train. Instead she just seems like a kid whose trust in her parents has been shaken by the divorce and was naive enough to try to run away from home to somewhere 300 miles away.
It's a tiny thing but I like that the video game was was working on was extremely simple and she was working from a book. It's an appropriate level of complexity for her age which avoids her seeming like some wunderkind.
I struggling to think of a show that exposes all character flaws right from the first moment like you're suggesting. It just sounds like very bad writing, especially since Tulip has more going on that just being stiff, as she should. Many of her problems come from a mix of her family situation and her age, and both of those are properly established early on, with more details unraveling as the story goes. How exactly would you have it play out in a way that doesn't sound robotic?
I agree with and .
I actually thought I'd skipped an episode somehow. I'd not gotten the impression that their bond was too that point yet.
Might be controversial to say but it feels like this show could do with a bit more "filler.
Not padding but something like the 3rd episode of OTGW. No plot points where introduced but it focused on and showcased Greg's capabilities and character (which get's payed off in the finale), and developed Wirt and beatrice's relationship.
I think the show could have done with one more episode to build that bond to betray.
Character developmemt shouldn't be happening off screen.
I'm glad the cat is coming back.
Reoccuring characters are especially fun in a travelling show.
I see the point you're making; that the audiences understanding of the prologue retroactively increases as we learn more about the lead.
I think my dissatisfaction comes from the inflexible characteristic being introduced proper too on-the-nose when she exclaims "everything has rules!"
Maybe I just think the "girls runs away from home but is reminded of how her parents love her" is a bit pat.
Infinity Plane when?
I want to see an extended series where there's a different main character every season. Tales of The Infinity Train rather than the adventures of Tulip.
Todd Howard did it again Boys
>SING TO ME!
Claire from the The Summoning was changed from 12 to 14, as well.
Is there some kind of bias towards low-teen characters?
I think it's less that she's reminded of how her parents love her and more about her realizing how impulsive she is and how she can completely fail to consider the effects her actions have on others. The way I see it it's less of the usual thing of realizing you're not alone and more of her taking a good look at herself and noticing she's got some issues to work out. It's a more mature take on it.
they gave vivian james her own series?
I'm not seeing it. I think the thing about how her actions affect others is a way of her seeing that "it's complicated" and she's judging her parents too harshly for fucking up. Her mom gave the defense that she and her dad were still trying to adjust to the new situation.
Tulip amd Phantom of the Opera, I ship it
Trying to figure out how something work is something a person would do in a strange place. I'm not sure it is even supposed to be the theme.
hard to tell with only 4 episodes out but I really did not feel the "you're actually loved!" vibe from this show at all so far. Even with one-one it was more about how she was ready to discard him to save herself than her realizing he cared about her.
How was the new episodes?
Plus it seems the puzzles get more complicated the further she goes.
Forgot pic..
