The BD release in the US used a shitty online wrapper for it and it looked pretty terrible. This service no longer exists.
Apparently though, some of these extras were included on disc and were accessible if you explored the files on a PC. I'm not sure if it's MPEG-2 or AVC but it's definitely not in HD.

Public trackers prefer bitstarved rips, at least for the more obscure SD-only stuff. I've found far more good re-encodes or remuxes from MEGA links compared to torrents.

Just continue releasing the edited Toy Story 2 for a few years until it's back in the vault. If he's found innocent, then they'll release it again after a few years to follow Disney of releasing movies after a certain period of time to keep copyright.

If he's guilty, continue putting out edit version. Considering with Disney+ and streaming service, I doubt they will try to put the original version, even if he were found innocent. According to the bonus feature the nitrate workprint was re-discovered in 1992 and the reconstruction was finished in 1996, which I presume was originally intended for a Laserdisc extra or something. I'm guessing they combined footage from a few different prints for the final version considering you can notice a few color/quality changes during the segment.

It could probably look a lot better if they rescanned it today in a higher resolution along with more restoration work, but unfortunately modern Disney doesn't really care that much about Fantasia.

As for the surviving elements, Disney does a lot of things wrong but they are very good at keeping their film production elements. The fact that they found this very old workprint is a testament to that. It should be noted that nitrate film is very dangerous and not easily stored.

In this specific instance, you'd be looking at episodes that are 80mb instead of 200mb, with comparable quality. There would be no stretched pixels, which can cause visual problems in certain conditions. The files I've provided in general would be playable on almost any computer and bluray/dvd player, and small enough to stream over wifi.

Unlike most other links posted here, I'm actually uploading these files to new Mega accounts. That means it's eating my bandwidth and space. So if you want big raw files, you need to go find them yourself.

I still encode to h264 because of compatibility. I judge grain on a case-by-case basis. Generally, retaining the grain is good, but some release groups take it way too far and the results look unnatural.

I would recommend using handbrake to do an nlmeans denoise at light preset, at normal encoding speed, at an RF setting of 10. I would then encode the resultant file again with no denoise (since we've done that already), slower encoding speed, and ~20 RF to optimize file size. This may seem tedious, but it's actually faster to encode twice then to try to do denoise at the slower speed setting. It can still take hours to do.

If your computer can handle it, you might want to try the above using the h265 codec.

I see that. Apparently, BD S2 tanked in ratings, so it wasn't able to get one. And you're right about it being on APV, but it sucks in that regards since that means its censored.

So yeah, I can get the 720p BR release, but looks like I'll have to settle for the 1080p WEB-DL censored version for S2.

he dude if you didn't know the Transformers Animated link you share has season one and 2 in 4:3 and season 3 in 16:9 but season 1 and 2 were also in 16:9. There's a torrent floating around that has them but it's a TV rip the only other way to get them is to get the blu-ray if I remember correctly.

Not sure actually, haven't seen what the bluray looks like, but these are the amazon rips, and all I know is, they look a lot better than the shitty fan upscale.
As far as I'm aware the show wasn't made in widescreen, so the quality difference between the two can't be that different
