2019... I am forgotten

Why doesn't anybody talk about this show anymore? There are more threads for Family Guy or the Simpsons (even though they usually get ruined by sneedposting) than there are for South Park. Are the new seasons really that bad?

There isn’t really anything memeable you can do with south park

Are there any memes from Family Guy that aren't reddit-tier normie shit, though?

It would help if there were new episodes airing, I'm sure.

When you go down to 10 episodes a season, you're not going to have people consistently posting about it.

It isn't like southpark is particularly bad or anything. Tons of southpark posting on Yea Forums during the season and following months but their seasons are so short now it's kind of difficult.

Discussion also happens when games get new content but yeah. It's honestly just has to deal with the fact theres limited content rather than the quality of the content.

It is a perennial tragedy that Matt and Trey are so fucking lazy that they cut the number of episodes down to 10 from 14. It's not like they're so busy that working an extra month out of the year is too much to ask - what do they even do other than this show? 10 episodes is fuck all.

It's not good anymore.

Shows that are good don't get discussed much.

They have Tegridy on that show.

there will be threads about it when it's back airing, and then people will talk about how awful the episodes are before forgetting it until the next season. that's usually how it goes. it's getting harder to watch South Park and especially sitting through "Randy humor" for me.

>Are the new seasons really that bad?
Yes

they made fucking movies and two video games that are fairly well rated, especially for a tv show game. they don't really need the money, now they're just writing for legacy.

No season is on...why would they?

>There are more threads for Family Guy or the Simpsons
All those threads are meme threads though. "I don't get this joke", "Sneakers O'Toole", some shit about Brian, etc. Rather than actually about the shows themselves.

Matt and Trey are out of touch. The most obvious example is when they dropped the ball HARD about the result of the 2016 elections and basically wrote themselves into a corner that season because of it, but even their pop culture references are getting stale. They did the emo episode in what, 2013? That's waaaaay late to the party.

Age comes for us all.

They need a coming of age episode and then end the series
And kill Randy

>coming of age episode
They already had that, it was called You're Getting Old/Assburgers.
I agree though, kill Randy. He's ruined the show.

As much as I've enjoyed a lot of the episodes and seasons that have come after it, You're Getting Old really should've been the series finale

>Are the new seasons really that bad?
yes

Idiots think this site is only for memes and shitposts.

Agreed.

Yeah but everybody fucking hates family guy, so people like talking about it

NIGGER GUY is still best episode.
But the south park flag is still the best flag.

Because it’s genuinely a good show and this board exists only for Twitter drama and shitposting about shows you don’t like.

Yes. The progressive cult sacrifices all creativity.

The show doesn’t even air right now and every episode has been analyzed to death over the years. If you want to talk about it then try to come up with a topic by yourself instead being lazy.

It’s pain in the ass to talk about because the people who watch it are divided between Yea Forums who are just shitty normie posters in general, /pol/ that reeeees whenever the show is not pandering their ego and fujos who like it for the characters, and of course Yea Forums that has became jaded. None of these people get along together so it’s better not to talk about it at all.

fujos are the last, best hope for south park

I don't know, I remember during season 21 there were some excellent threads where the fujos and /pol/ got along well, and there was a great balance between character analysis, fanart, political discussion and thread humour.

And then the rest of Yea Forums ruined it with their constant bitching about shipping threads and telling people to take it to /cm/ despite the fact that the threads focused on female characters as well and therefore weren't allowed on /cm/.

Shipping fags took over once the Yaoi episode came out.

South Park shipping fags have been around since forever. The yaoi episode was just an acknowledgement of a very dedicated fanbase.

Unironically kill yourself. Fujos are the biggest fucking cancer next to furries. They want every show to carter to them, some of them hide behind lbgt/tumblr communities when called out on their shit.

>The yaoi episode was just an acknowledgement of a very dedicated fanbase.

And there in lies the problem, once the yaoi episode came out, every fucking thread here got dominated by shipping fags.

How isn’t there?

You can make a meme out of literally anything. I’m pretty sure every pose Steve Harvey has ever done has been made into a meme.

Holy crap Lois I left Stewie in the car!

Those aren't fujos. Those Tumblr communities hate fujos for fetishizing gays, and the fujos hate Tumblrinas for calling everything they like problematic.

You create the content you want to see in the world, user. If you want to discuss more than shipping, start a conversation about something you do want to discuss.

they wasted an entire season making fun of orange man. Low hanging fruit, & it wasn't funny.

There’s the one where the TVs not even plugged in.

Fujos and shippers produce a lot of fan content, and do a lot of character analysis, meta analysis, and archival work - especially in the South Park fandom. What do you contribute?

That’s funny when the only ones who cry about catering to them are the fags who don’t like it when South Park makes fun of their political stance.

I would agree, but people who complain about the Mr Garrison/Trump thing are right. Matt and Trey 100% thought Clinton would win, and it completely ruined the ongoing storyline of season 20 when she didn't. They shouldn't have been so sure of the result ahead of time and/or done a storyline that depended so heavily on a particular candidate winning.

Not much to talk about till the next season, which is coming up soon. South Park will always be in my top 3 cartoons. kinda miss the old seasons though, love Casa Bonita, love the movie and its songs.

This sadly

>Fujos and shippers produce a lot of fan content, and do a lot of character analysis, meta analysis, and archival work

Sure the do kid.

m8 probably 90% of fan art is produced by shippers

I really enjoyed the last two halloween episodes. The episode with the scooters especially felt like classic season 1-9 SP.

shitty show, just as out of touch as the simpsons

Any bets on how bad the next season will be now that Trey wife left him?

You can’t even criticize the show now without being labeled as a political extremist. Any attempt to discuss it just turns into online shitflinging.
Also the episodes age like goat shit. It hasn’t even been a year yet and any episode featuring Garrison going to war with North Korea is extremely outdated.

The best episodes are the ones that don't rely on political or topical humor and just focus on the kids and their absurdities. Unfortunately those are few and far between these days.

What are you talking about, everyone is saying how South Park is responsible for alt-right

This is entirely correct.
Who says that?

Some random liberals and trannies sometimes bitch about South Park because the show mocked them and didn't care about it.

It's a moot point now anyway since the show is now all political all the time.

The show is literally designed for liberals and trannies for the past four seasons.

For example ”How ‘South Park’ Helped Empower The ‘Alt-Right’” by Lindsay Weedston

Or ”Why "South Park" is perfectly armed to fight the alt-right” by Taylor Link

Or ”Did South Park accidentally invent the alt-right” by Janan Ganesh

etc.

I hope Heidi has a relapse.

everything will get old and end eventually

matt and trey are old now, their attempts at recreating the detached aloofness of their youth continue to become more and more tone-deaf.

Comparing Trump fanboys to victims of domestic abuse and not being able to admit you were wrong about someone was spot on.

The stories got even worse when they started continuity

Then they shit the bed during 2016 Trump bashing, and fucked themselves by keeping continuity going.

PC Principle is more infuriating than funny.
And because they made Garrison Trump, they now can't use him for another 6 years.
They tried using him, but it just comes off as constantly political and unnecessary Trump bashing, so now they don't.

They probably didn't mean to come off as liberal douchbags picking at low hanging fruit like the rest of the comedy scene and media like Trevor Noah, Jon Oliver, all of Late Night, and Bill Maher, but they did not the less. That turned a lot of people off.

They would have been better off retconning and making Garrison as president all a dream.
They can fix it by dropping continuity.
But they probably won't. They've made it obvious in their dvd commentaries and interviews and bts that they are tapped out and running on fumes with the usual style.
They said one of the reasons for adding continuity was "why can't we" and so they can add new stories that don't need an ending to tie in up every week. They said its easier to think of longer stories that weekly short stories.

If they fix the Garrison Trump goof, and kill of PC principle, maybe they can get decent again and keep continuity.

I hope Heidi has a prolapse.

Randy was pretty funny, they just need to do less and stop using Randy as introduction character.
Randy as a DAD learning about dumb kid stuff is funny.
Randy as blank slate learning about the recent trend is awful. It's just Trey.

ex. Randy as a dad learning WoW, Guitar Hero, and Minecraft is funny.
Randy getting wrapped up in PC culture, becoming leader of Earth in Pinewood Derby, and as Lord sucks.

Also, the whole decade, if not the whole century they used too much "Meet the Parents" plot.
By that I mean an innocent or justified character is shit on or abused because of a misunderstanding, a series of unfortunate events, a character out to get them, or no one believing them, and then the character doesn't get their justice, their validation, their proof or an apology.
This is especially the case with Butters.
Butters gets fucked in the ass because his Cartman convinces him he's dead and his parents thinks he's crazy.
Butters gets locked in the basement because the boys faked his death.
Butters nearly dies because he has to monitor people's twitter.
Kyle gets humiliated because he's trying to bring peace to the jews, christians and muslims.
No one is able to stand up to PC principle.
PC Principle can't claim his own children.
Ect.

Butters was properly introduced in an episode that was a dark parody of American family sitcoms so it’s an important part of his characterization
Your entire life mostly depends of how fucked up your parents were so you have to know what kind of homes they come from, Tweek was introduced as a kid whose life is like it is because of his parents and that was very early in the show

Its been really bad since season 10
The last 3 seasons have been beyond shit

I wish pc principle would never be mentioned again
He's an old repeating joke

>It isn't like southpark is particularly bad
new south park is very bad

There should be more on-model fanart.

Indeed

Yeah what a big boost. ‘Clifford’ has this problem.

I prefer when they used to be mocking up everyone from the faggots to religious nuts, basically on their own. newer seasons seems like more libtard leaning and the charms has gone. like Yea Forums, they're already dead, just living on by life support.

can you list down those episodes?

I wish they went back to making episodes over a period of months instead of doing a 1 week rush.

>No more long term story or referencing shit from previous episodes
>Stop being so fucking political
>Stop making episodes about flavor of the week trends (yes I know they've always done this but it needs to stop in the social media age)
>Have more episodes that just focus on the 4 main boys going off on wacky adventures
>No more relationship bullshit.
>Stop showcasing the school as a setting outside of the main classroom
>bring back characters and make some of them recurring characters like Grandpa, Officer Barbrady, Big Gay Al, Jimbo, Towelie, Satan, and Mr. fucking Hankey
>Randy should no longer be such a heavy focus in the show and should only have maybe 1 great episode in the whole season.
>Kill Kenny.

>bring back characters and make some of them recurring characters like Grandpa, Officer Barbrady, Big Gay Al, Jimbo, Towelie, Satan, and Mr. fucking Hankey
I like it how people complaining about this show clearly haven't even watched it for past few years.

this so much

Attached: 43.png (74x62, 8K)

I haven't watched it since like.. 2 seasons ago.

Then you can't comment on the show as it currently is, only as it recently was.

Attached: hc3.jpg (2000x1638, 903K)

They want the series to die by their own hands rather than see Comedy Central string along a zombified version of it for years since CC owns the rights

Attached: fuck you kyle.jpg (449x515, 150K)

Well for your information, Satan died last season and is going to stay dead and Mr. Hankey lives in Springfield now

>it got boring
>it's no longer funny
>got overly political
>characters are now different enough to not be sympathetic anymore

I haven't watched south park since 2008

Shipperfags a d people that dont watch the show ruin any discussion. Just in this thread alone there are a handful of people who think the show is all "ORANGE MAN BAD" even though he wasnt in the entirety of last season save like 5 seconds waving at the camera.

did matt and trey open up a weed online store?

funny thing southparkstudios is marketing the blackout club
south park fps, ffs matt do it

This. I couldn’t agree more with everything you said.

A lot of people like to say that it’s better with fewer episodes, but I don’t think that’s so. Maybe if South Park has started with 10 episodes per season, but now we already know that they can handle more. It’s a disservice.
