Why did mega mind never get the attention he deserved? It was a genuinely good movie I can go back and enjoy without cringing once. The characters were pretty lively and felt perfect for their roles.

Megamind is a subversive masterpiece
When you think about it, it really is but critics are retarded leeches who can’t see kino when its right in front of then
Because people still believe critics and reviewers have opinions worth a shit.
Thought I was the only one who liked this movie.
It was great, the character were all good and the plot was good too. Even the action scenes were cool, no complains here bro !
hal is an incel
It wasnt talking CGI animals dancing, making pop culture references or talking about farts/asses.
I don’t see how jona hill isnt insulted, hal is literally him in animated form
Is this like Shrek where we meme that it's good?
Instead, we got this cancer.
I actually tried watching the first Despicable Me and it was boring AF.
I watched this in the theater and have owned a copy of it on Blu-Ray since it was released- and I very rarely bought physical media let alone Blu-Rays. One of the best Dreamworks Animation films and a great pastiche of superhero movies.
It looked like a knock off Incredibles but was so, so much more
He was in Superbad, he knew he was a typecaster
I saw this but I barely remember anything other than the old "what if a superheo was a jerk lol" schtick, "showmanship!", and the cliche dance-party ending.
What did I supposedly miss?
It was competing with a Toy Story, a Shrek and Despicable Me. Despicable Me launched a massive ad campaign to ensure it stuck in the public's mind as the original that Megamind's producers weren't interested in putting up the cash to compete with, so most people thought Megamind was just a cheap knockoff "t-thanks, grandma" movie.
He's been like this since day one. youtu.be
But he's lost a lot of weight now.
So did Megamind fuck Roxanne? Did they have light-blue half-human/half alien babies with only slightly bulbous heads?
Did Megamind even have a normie name that wasn't his Super Villian name ..? Did he choose a new name once he became a hero like MetroMan = MusicMan ?
Honestly, his human disguise was pretty cute.
Superheroes werent jerks in this movie though
Megamind is actually good, what didn’t you like about it?
At least because Illumination hadn't yet figured out they didn't have to try to make a profit on their movies, they did actually try.
The subversive plot, kino humor, actually some emotional character scenes, character arcs, great action, fun setting all around nature vs nurture.
Instead of the Wreck it Ralph "Know your place and do your job in this dynamic - you'll always be a BAD guy" plotline, Megamind was "Forge your own destiny, don't let others determine who you are or what you want"
It would have received more attention these days due to "haha the villain is a toxic incel"
Honestly never heard of this film until this thread
>subversive plot
Explain; "the bad guy is just misunderstood" isn't terribly interesting, if an OK idea for comedy.
>Instead of the Wreck it Ralph "Know your place and do your job in this dynamic - you'll always be a BAD guy" plotline, Megamind was "Forge your own destiny, don't let others determine who you are or what you want"
Ralph ends up being a hero who saves what he cares about, though, and he does it with his "bad guy" power of wrecking stuff. It seems like a more nuanced message of accepting reality for what it is AND choosing your own path within it.
Is this NTR?
It marketed itself as a spoof film which were getting really fucking old by the time it came out as there was like 3-4 every year for the last 10 years prior
He is very much self aware. He's also not a power tripping incel in real life so beyond the physical similarities he ahs no reason to be offended
It got released after Shark Tales
But that movie was poo poo
Exactly; people didn't trust the studio.
