Memes aside, was this a good interpretation of Bane?
Memes aside, was this a good interpretation of Bane?
Only thing it needed was him being Hispanic and a scene get juices on venom
No, it sucked.
He had no super powers and wore a dumbass pain mask instead of using proper pain meds. Whole thing was a tease, well shot though, give it that.
Memes aside, would he have died if his mask was pulled off?
It would be very painful.
Of course not. Bane in name only.
I loved it. It was an interpretation as much as any other movie is but at least he was intelligent and a planner instead of a big tank. The biggest flaw of the movie is that he disappears in the last act.
Of course.
>Memes aside
Does he have any lines of dialogue that didn't become memes? There is no "memes aside" with this take on the character.
I had some friends call him Blaine, Bane's posh and eruidte cousin
No, but it was an awesome interpretation of Ubu. Thing is, Ubu isn't very marketable, so they had to call him Bane to get people's butts in the theater.
You tell normies "This is the movie where Batman fights Bane" they'll get excited because they know from cartoons and shit who Bane is. You tell normies "This is a movie where Batman fights Ubu" they'd be like "Now out of all the bad guys to choose from why the fuck would you do Ubu?!?" or "Wait, which one is Ubu again???"
But yeah, the guy in Dark Knight Rises was totally Ubu.
I like Hardy's voice work here. A lot of people complain it's over-the-top and not very intimidating, but I think it works. Bane always talks with this humorous intonation as if he's always mocking you and refuses to accept you seriously.
>White
>No luchador mask
>Only uses a backbreaker, no other wrestling moves
Terrible Chuck it in the bin
You're a small frye
Nope
>Bane is Hispanic
Good one user
Honestly? No. He should have been an original character, call hom Liberator or something like that. As presented he bears no resemblance to Bane.
Four two
I like how after the entire movie of getting his back broken and months in exile Batman finally figures out that Bane's mask is pumping him full of pain killers and is the key to beating him. No fucking shit genius, look at the guy. His mask is literally the only thing that makes him not a normal guy, you put your massive intellect to use and you figured out that MAYBE the mask has something to do with him being a super villain? Would any person that sees bane not instantly target the mask FIRST when fighting him?
Did Bane ever work for Ra's in the comics?
Nah, he’s a good villain, but he’s no Bane.
There was that time he usurped Batman as Ra's successor and was going to marry Talia
Aside from the stupid reveal at the end, it was the best interpretation of Bane. It was the first time Bane had been a mastermind since Knightfall. Every appearance of Bane after that had been as a dumb muscleman. Nolan really made Bane as an anti-Batman, which he started out as. Costume and everything else doesn't matter.
I wanted to see him without the mask with his face all fallen apart.
Bane of the Demon which leads into the Legacy event is about Bane impressing Ra's and Ra's bringing him into the League of Assassins and grooming him to marry Talia.
I liked how he was basically a bro having fun with his terrorist friends.
pretty good when compared to the one in batman and robin and what eventually becomes of bane in 'the batman' (near the end, bats doesn't need his robot suit anymore and can casually judo flip him).
on his own, he just works within the setting.
it feels weird how committed they are to blowing gotham (and themselves up). i can imagine them trying to blow up gotham ASAP but since the reactor takes months to go critical, that's plenty of time for loyalties to waver.
