Spider-Man TV show

given how cinematic comic book shows have become (Swamp Thing, The Boys, Doom Patrol, etc...) could a live-action Spider-Man tv series work Yea Forums?

Make Mary Jane a plus size bisexual black woman.

It could but the budget might be a lot lower than the films and it'd show. However with that in mind they'd use the super-powered villains sparingly and focus more on guys like Hammerhead, pre-cyborg Silvermane, Tombstone, Crime Master, possibly Kingpin.

Disney and Sony really want to keep Spider-Man as focused on young kids, so they’ll probably keep it as a cartoon.

They should do an adaptation of Bitches Love Spider-Man and rake in all that girl money.

Maybe.
You know what series would work best as a television series?
X-Men. With all the characters and storylines available, you could develop a long running series which actually pays attention to characters other than fucking Wolverine.

>However with that in mind they'd use the super-powered villains sparingly and focus more on guys like Hammerhead, pre-cyborg Silvermane, Tombstone, Crime Master, possibly Kingpin.

Yeah, it would be nice to see him up against street level villains

It would work if it were it's own non-MCU thing written by obvious fans like the Doom Patrol show.
Otherwise it would be shit.

I think it'd have a better chance at capturing the spirit of the comics then any of the movies.

Those soap opera-ish elements are ingrained in the material and a serialised format allows for a wider developed sidecast and steadier character development.
It would also be able to focus on the street level stuff without having to make everything feel hyped up.

The only real issue would be budget although with todays standards I think it could be done.
In a just world it would just be animated, but in reality that'd mean being constrained to being a kids show.

Sure but it would likely they make Miles's Spidey

Smallville, every fuckin' villian on that show was conected to the hero.

I always thought Iron Man was more fitted for a Live Action TV Show.

I maintain that Spidey would work best as a show versus movies, to give the series proper spacing to explore Peter and Spidey's lives. It's basically designed for a CW drama.
I don't know if web swinging would work super well on a TV budget though.

You'd see a lot of people never wearing costumes and only going by their real names.
Spider-Man would rarely if ever swing from building to building.
Somehow, MJ and the Osborns would be black.

it would work better, especially if it got the same care as the daredevil show.

The irony is that because of budget concerns they would have to focus on Wolverine since a healing effect plus claws would be super cheap.

Just have him swing out of the shot and swing into the shot.
Boring but cost-efficient.

Cape comics in general feel more suited for tv due to the serialized format, especially those with a tendency for more grounded plots.

Not sure if I'd say Marvel more so than DC, ironically.

That’s what I liked about The Gifted and Legion

Whenever a premise like this pops up I cant help but wonder why disney and sony cant just pick and choose specific spider people to build franchises around. Why couldnt sony just tell marvel to lap up their sloppy seconds and use Ben Reily or whoever the fuck else?
Venom was interesting because it showcased something like that with Eddie Brock, and it immediately got me thinking of a Venom franchise where he fights Peter's freaky rogues like Tombstone or Man-Wolf. Anyways to get back on topic, a slingers show would be perfect for this shit honestly.

Sony and Disney both agreed not to do a live action series as part of the licensing deal to get Spidey in the MCU and Disney isn't hurting enough for content to pay the penalty and Sony is a multinational conglomerate who doesn't actually need its entertainment division to still be fucking massive.

True

I'd argue that Spider-Man just works better in a serialized format since the tribulations of his tumultuous life are the main appeal.

and spider-man

...

Nice
