What was the point of making everyone a genius in this show? Even Rhino was a student at the smart school.
Mid-Season 2 will return in September
>school is good. even villains go to school.
idk
I wonder if that Spider-verse show will fully replace it.
Seems more straight forward then trying to mix Spider-people into a sort of traditional Spider-man show.
Season one tried to push this message of encouraging science to children, to the point where it got cringeworthy. Every character was a genius, Peter's friends got to save the day plenty of times even without getting their powers, etc.
They have pretty much dropped that in season two for more standard fare heroics.
That would've made the premise so much better. Peter as an older mentor, Superior Spider-Man would actually make sense, etc.
It's probably been binned. Once the next season comes out it's canned and they'll do another Spider-man cartoon. Ultimate had longer legs than 2017. It was just too boring.
Most kids today are smart. So why not?
Speaking of this show:

Gwenom is the only decent one, and of course that's from the comics.
I'm curious about the Spider-Man one, though. It doesn't look like Peter's typical symbiote possession.
Hope the PeterXGwen train still continues
Like seriously. Let this series actually be the first one that goes thorugh with this ship and not another MJ
It's still alive. The problem is Sony and how dumb they're being
Sony has nothing to do with this series.
this looks awful.
did they forgot what COLOR is?
Seriously? they're doing the Superior Spider-man stuff too now?
I feels like they're putting like 500 diffrent comic ideas into one show each episode, no wonder the show is a fucking mess.
.. did they ever get Peter out of his autism in this show?
Shit the Gwenom one is fucking cool.
>Peter
>dating anyone in a current Spider-Man series
The most we'll get is that brief tease from Kamala and that's it.
He speaks like a normal person halfway through the first season.
They still own the licencing rights to Spider-Man, and he fact that the 2nd part of season 2 is being released after Spider-Man: FFH after it reached a billion dollars says something. Or else it would have been released months ago
>He speaks like a normal person halfway through the first season.
well hot diggity damn!
Now they just need to slow their pace down by like a 1000% and have characters not all be super brainiacs and we might just have something that could be salvaged into a decent 6/10 show
Sony has no control over what Disney does with its cartoons.
This is the only spider-man show I didn't watch any of. Looks like I made the correct choice.
I believe this could give us interesting consecuences.
+ Anya/Spider-Girl: It's obvious that, at first, Anya won't be able to fight the symbiote; but I believe Anya will be able to subdue the symbiote somehow. Then, the symbiote will became an "upgrade" for Anya, and she will use it like the exoskelleton she had as AraƱa.
+ Gwen/Ghost Spider: I guess this link us to the events in the comics. Spider-Gwen lost her original powers (by a spider's byte) but regained new ones when the Venom's symbiote of her reality bonded to her. I suppose Gwenom will be in control at first, but she will eventually tame her symbiote to act as Ghost Spider and use her original suit as Spider-Gwen.
+ Miles Morales: Miles will be Venomized in the comic saga "Absolute Carnage", but I don't think he will keep this symbiote. Either in the comics or in the series.
+ Peter/Spider-Man: It really surprises me the new symbiote bonded to Peter, but I guess they couldn't use the old Black Suit anymore with Venom around here. Curiosly, this doesn't have a monstruous look like the others, so we can assume Peter will find a way to keep it under control. He surely won't use it for all season, but I bet this new symbiote will have a role in the future.
Personally, Peter's new symbiote gives him a look similar to the Spider-Man from Bullet Point (Bruce Banner); or maybe the "Superior Venom".
>They still own the licencing rights to Spider-Man
For the movies. They gave up all rights to TV Spidey to keep the movie rights, which is how we lost Spectacular in the first place.
I've already lost interest at this point. It had me by the mid-season, but the wait was too long.
It really is terrible.
You have web swinging scenes where it looks like they just copypasted the same drawing going across the screen.
They're pretty much just stuffing modern comic book stories and trends, even if they make no sense in the context of a young Peter. Spider-Island, Superior Spider-Man, Spider-Gwen, Miles, Goblin War, etc. Stuff that a veteran Peter could deal with.
How much merch does this show sell? Cause this looks like it was done to sell merch.
It's almost they're forced not to redo arcs that Ultimate Spider-Man already did.
So that's what they have left. Modern shit.
There are some things that it could happen next. Let's see:
+ Silk clearly won't appear, as she would involve too many things and there's no time for them. But her shadow has been present in the series. In the promo art and the design of Venomized Anya, her outfit is like the third and final one used by Silk.
+ Spider-Man 2099 (Miguel O'Hara) will probably appear in "Superior Spider-Man", as he did in the comics. He will surely use his ANAD suit and spend some time trapped in the present.
+ Anti-Venom will appear in the season. Back to the last season of "Ultimate Spider-Man", someone asked Stephen Wacker if Anti-Venom would return; and he said "It's very possible". Flash Thompson is who will become Anti-Venom (as in the comics); and since this Flash is no soldier, he will look as Future Foundation's Spider-Man.
+ The Jackal, Hydra's Spider-Soldiers and possibly Anti-Venom could assure a "Clone Saga" in Season 3. Only not like previous ones, with Ben Reilly and/or Kaine, I believe this one could give us "Ultimate Jessica Drew", a female clone of Peter. And unlike the comics, she could get the name of "Teresa Parker", Peter's long lost sister. That would give us ANOTHER female Spider to the team.
+ Finally, in promo art from 2019 Calendar that Iron Spider (her classic red/gold design) could appear in the series too. I suppose Peter will use it first, but another one will use the armor later. And just like in the comics, I believe it will be Mary Jane. She has to appear in the series, and I see two ways she gained Spider-Powers. One, she was bitten by the same spider that bit Peter (just like Silk); or she could have kept stable spider-powers from the Spider-Island's arc somehow.
+ One more thing. Maybe "Teresa" will keep the Iron Spider's armor, and MJ could have Silk's powers; as her powers to use the silk from the webs to do clothes would fit her usual love for fashion. Also, she could have the "animal attraction" thing with Peter like Silk had.
Same here man. I really like these two. Don't want another ridiculous MJ ship again
Sorry, guys. But considering how popular is Miles Morales and Spider-Gwen's relationship in the comics, I think that will be the road they will take. Besides, considering how Ock ruined Peter's relationships when he usurped his identity, I'm afraid this could be one of them.
Holy fuck! You again!? Why do you keep on insisting!? Get fucked you assholes. That ship is done. That's never going to come back ever.
Excuse me?! First, what do you mean "again"? This is the first time I comment about this. TV animated series usually follows the most recent material from the comics. Back in "Ultimate Spider-Man" series, we had Flash as Agent Venom because he was in his moment. Now, with Eddie Brock back as classic Venom, the bring him back into "Marvel's Spider-Man". The same happens with ships and another elements. Right now, Spider-Gwen has even more popularity than classic Gwen Stacy, who died at the hands of the Green Goblin. And in comics, Spider-Gwen and Miles Morales discovered a reality where they are married and have children (as the "Amazing 8"). So, it's possible they will follow this road in the series.
And second, show some respect, will you?! I never insulted anyone around here!!

This is all Disney and Marvel Studios. Sony has no say in the show.
Honestly, Pete's suit in those shots makes me think Anti-Venom so maybe the climax of the arc is Pete becoming Anti-Venom to defeat all the Venomed heros.
I get your point, but I'm not really convinced that Peter will become Anti-Venom. I mean, after all, Anti-Venom is the opposite of Venom, and that is reflected in his colours (white suit with black spider), inverted.
Sure, Anti-Venom will be the key to win, but I'm not sure it should look this way. Anyway, if Flash receives the symbiote later, he can become like Future Foundation Spider-Man.
I really miss having a well written Spider-man show that doesn't just feel like an advert.
I don't even think USM adapted too many arcs. That one issue with the Wolverine body-swap, Spider-Verse, the Clone Saga, and I guess Secret Wars.
